Hardy Boys music on the SpikeTV intro - subtle foreshadowing or SpikeTV being really annoying? (SpikeTV being really annoying)

TV PG LV CC entertainment

[moan] - that's sound of Maria thinking. Let me guess, special guest ring announcer for no particular reason? Well, first, [open], because we have to show how they put in the Kurt Angle video clips over the Randy Orton clips and then

Tajiri (Japan, 206 pounds) vs Kid Kash (Johnson City, TN, 200 pounds) - Yea, ring announcing. She's no Joy. Tajiri trying to slide in an area with a better view. Speaking of better views (not), your announcers are Coach and Todd. I guess Kid Kash was right all along? Maria kinda missed her cue there. Coach doubts her spelling ability. You know, if Kash appearance was just that quarter second before he got throw out of the ring on his run in, that would've been the greatest run-in in the history of man. ECW chants as Todd mentions the connections. Shove by Kash, and Tajiri scares him back with a kick. Circle. Coach is loving the "Coach Is God" sign. Lockup, Kash with a headlock, Tajiri shoots him off, Kash with a shoulderblock, one two no. Todd points out how little sense it makes for ECW-hating Eric to be giving ECW's Kid Kash this chance. Armdrag, holding and and rolling it into a crucifix rollup one two no. Clap off. Circle. Lockup, no, Tajiri with a kick, forearm, forearm. Corner whip, Kash with the kip up escape, forearm for Tajiri and pulling him down by his hair. Stomp. Stomp. Stomp. Stomp. Stomp. Tajiri pulled into the middle of the ring, one two no. Kneeling surfboard. Do you think Kid Kash is weirded out by not having a clock to work against? Nah. Every time they do a closeup of Kash's face, it makes me think they really should've dropped "Kid". Crowd clapping for Tajiri sooner and louder than they wanted, but they work with it. Tajiri rallies up, and Kash knees him in the back. Standing surfboard. Tajiri turning it again, and stomping on Kash's foot to get free. Kash chops and forearms to take control. Coach makes many friends: "[Kid Kash] hasn't wrestled on television for four or five years!" Even I think that's a bit cold. Hilariously dumb too, of course. Abdominal stretch. I wonder if Kash is scared by all the cameras! Tajiri back elbowing free with back elbows, and lots of 'em. Corner whip, Kash goes to the second rope, boot for Tajiri, Moonsault bodyblock one tw-no. Kash it with a kick. Suplex, hanging him up, dropping him down. One two NO. Kash going up again. To the middle rope, waiting for Tajiri, and jumping into Tajiri's mid kick. Tajiri chopping Kash apart. Knees. Tajiri yelling. Waiting for Kash to get up, and knocking him down hard with a kick to the shoulder. You want to cover him? Nah, he'll soak it in a bit. Whip, reversed, handspring back elbow explodes Kash. One two th-NO. Tajiri with a slam, Kash slips behind. Forearm to the back, Tajiri is sent to the corner, Kash charges after him, Kash gets the Tarantula. Tajiri setting up for it. Buzzsaw Kick (Todd: "Japanese Wizard!" uh huh) is ducked, and Kash gives him a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. Kash goes up top. Frog Splash - misses! You don't give Tajiri two chances at it - Todd is really obsessed with calling this the Japanese Wizard, so there you go. One two three. (5:45) Way to make an impression, Kash! (On Tajiri's boot.) Will he have more matches here than he did in WCW?

WWE Slam of the Week, presented by Advant Rising: Hassan beats Shelton by DQ, but does not win the IC title.

Val Venis (Las Vegas, NV, 244 pounds) vs Simon Dean (Clearwater, FL, 220 pounds) - Maria doesn't appear to have a cue card, so point for her. This is the presented by entrance, so we get the full Val Venis mix. Ha, Simon has words for the guys with the ECW sign. Val is wearing black as to not color match here. Oh lucky me, Simon has something to say. "Big Val, a few weeks ago on RAW, you went one on one with the Masterpiece, and despite your best effort, you came up just a little short. Now I know you gave it your best shot, but ah - I was a little shocked, by your lack of, uh, stamina. Which is why I came out here tonight, to offer you a brand new Simon System product! My patented 'SED', Simon Energy Drink. Because god knows you need it! Now Val, this drink is guaranteed to help you RISE to the occasion. And it's guaranteed to help you, uh, go the distance, if you know what I mean, ha. So, ah, what do you say, my pal Val, would you like to take a sip? You better be careful, you might become an addict, because this stuff is great!" Val takes the drink. Val chugs the drink. Simon is thrilled. Val spits the drink on Simon! And it's on. Coach wants a DQ, but no. Chops. Running knees, Russian legsweep. Mounted punches. Not listening to Earl Hebner. Turnbuckle smash. Chop. Turnbuckle smash - no, Simon thrown off into the corner, and forearm down. Simon clears his eyes and stomps Simon. Headlock. "SIMON SUCKS." Headlock punch. Stomps. Simon attempts to clarify who sucks. Stomp. Boot choke. Heel kick. Headlock punch, one two no. He's so Eric Bischoff in WCW/nWo Revenge. Simon sets up for a suplex, but Val reverse to a small package one two no. Simon works over Val with forearms. Armbar. Hammerlock, forward roll, into a hammerlock/headscissors submission. Will Val give? I'm guessing no. I guess right! Simon lets go and rolls him over to cover, one two NO. Front facelock, but Val getting to his feet. Val punching out, but stopped with a knee. "LET'S GO VAL!" Crowd is pumped. Too bad for them. Corner whip, Simon checks his pulse, and eats knee pad. Val right, right, right, whip, back elbow. Val headlock punch! Val with a corner clothesline. He goes for another, but Simon ducks, and kicks him in the midsection. Corner whip, quick reverses into a half nelson slam. Going up. Don't swivel, just splash! Money shot connects one two three. (4:11) And that's how the bottom of the ladder breaks.

WWE Rewind, presented by Starburst: Wedding Invitation

Heat Throbs (Panama City, FL, 445 pounds) vs Hurricane & Rosey (590 pounds, w/unnamed associate) for the World Tag Team Championship - Okay, I give; the gay cowboy roping stuff is my favorite part. We don't get to see Maria dance with Antonio and Romeo. In any other situation, I'd totally be against this, and I may deny this tomorrow if you ask me, but if Maria turned on Hurricane and Rosey and helped the Heartthrobs when win the tag team titles, it would be the greatest thing ever. Hurricane's wearing blue? Huh. Coach urges us not to be an idiot. He's gotta go first on that one. Lotta time here. Romeo wins, so he'll start vs Hurricane. Rosey never starts. Lockup - who whoa whoa no, Romeo has to do a funky pelvic thrust. Hurricane with a waistlock, switch, Hurricane into a headlock, shot off, no, blocked, Hurricane whips, Romeo back with a shoulderblock. Romeo dances, gets tripped. Front facelock. Hurricane backed into the corner, tag to Antonio. Antonio's right hand misses, Hurricane with an armdrag, armdrag, tag to Rosey. Rosey with a kick to the arm. Armbar. Crank. Twist. Antonio with a knee. Antonio with a knee. Whip, uh, no, Rosey whips him, hiptoss blocked, Antonio tries a hiptoss (uh, still no), and Rosey flips him over with an armbar before dropping a leg on the arm. Whip, head own too soon, Antonio tries a sunset flip, uh, he's kinda dumb. Big sit, one two no. Tag to Hurricane. Whip, leg lariat. One two NO. Headscissors sleeper. Hurricane's tights are new for summer. Uh huh. Romeo breaks up the headscissors. Romeo dances on the apron, and Hurricane knocks him to the floor before mocking his dance. Antonio wants a piece of him, and he gets tossed too. SLINGSHOT TOPE CON GIRO! BREAK. (2:30)

Rosey is whipping Antonio as we return. Antonio ducks a clothesline, tries a cross body - geeze, he's dumb. Rosey slams him. Off the ropes, - no, Romeo's got a leg and apparently well enough to stop Rosey. Rosey tries to free himself, and gets a jumping knee from Antonio to send him out. Hurricane trying to get a shot in on Antonio, but Antonio blocks the punch, hits one of his own, and leaves to help beat up Rosey while the referee forces Hurricane to his corner. Apron axhandle for Rosey. Double whip into the post! Hurricane out over to help out, but he gets dropped as well. Stacy's yelling at the Heart Throbs, but that does no good. Throbs work together to bring Rosey back in the ring, and roll him away from the ropes. One two NO. "WE WANT STACY" Antonio pounds Rosey. Antonio working over Rosey with punches. Antonio tags to Romeo, and gets shoved down before help can arrive. Romeo stops Rosey with a knee, and Antonio adds a dropkick, one tow no. Tag to Antonio. Rosey thrown down on the back of head. One two NO. Antonio with a front facelock. Crowd getting behind the champs. Rosey trying to move the front facelock to his corner. Getting closer, and Antonio working him over with forearm. Rosey lefts him up, and drops him behind. Both fall to the mat. Can Rosey make the tag - yes? Hurricane clothesline for Antonio, clothesline, clothesline by Romeo ducked, Hurricane drops him with an inverted bulldog. Right for Antonio. Corner whip, reversed, Antonio ruses into the Bollo Uppercut. Overcast! Whip for Romeo, backdrop. Rosey back up - clothesline takes out Romeo. Antonio whipped to Rosey, scooped and slammed. Hurricane and Rosey to the corner - Off the shoulders splash! One two three! (6:03) Champs retain.
