JUSTIN SHAPIRSHOW episode 4: New York Meets

Play

The mostly theoretical Justin Shapirshow returns for approximately one night only to reconvene with regular/only guests Royal Pains’ Matt Feuerstein and Cardinals placekicker Tom Feely. The two proud residents of New York/New Jersey attended multiple worked professional wrestling events over last Wrestlemania weekend, including but yes limited to Wrestlemania XXIX and Dragon Gate United States of America, and they offer first-person insights only available here, such as who won the matches and the identity of the new WWE champion. They also dish the dirt and the deets on their summit with some of the heavy hitters in this industry (niche wrestling podcasting), among them a certain world-beater well-regarded ’round these parts. A show so check it out

Joe Versus The World: WrestleManias XXII to XXVIII

Play
We’re back! Five years ago we did a 2 part series detailing the history of Wrestlemanias I-XXII, and now we’re back to finish the job. Joe, Justin Shapiro, & Matt Foy are back to recap Manias XXIII-XXVIII. Topics include retcons in Wrestling, Kurt Hawkins & Alex Riley: Mania main eventers, MITB @ Mania: yea or nay?, inexplicable World War III discussion, the ballad of Mr. Kennedy, previewing Mania XXIX, Matt vs. David Simon, Justin vs. traffic, and Joe vs. staying awake (and the world). Tired of Mania talk? Too bad! A monstrous 2 hour (!) show!

As always, donations to the March of Dimes are appreciated.

Lead Leeds blogger and chilled out entertainer Eamonn Dalton (Dr. Keith Presents, Howson Is Now) joins Justin Shapiro (Joe Versus The World, Justin Shapirshow) to discuss almost no professional wrestling but almost yes Life’s Too Short, the new sitcom by Ricky Gervais (The Office, Ghost Town) starring Warwick Davis (Willow, Life’s Too Short). Questions raised: Is the show good or funny or whatever? What can wrestling learn from Life’s Too Short? Did Justin and/or Eamo shower in gym class? Is Liam Neeson a wolf? Is Sophie Ellis-Bextor a cat? Do you think you can dance? I’ll reiterate, minimal wrestling content. A show so check it out.

“Though the silenced opinion be an error, it may, and very commonly does, contain a portion of truth; and since the general or prevailing opinion on any subject is rarely or never the whole truth, it is only by the collision of adverse opinions that the remainder of the truth has any chance of being supplied.” – Stuart Alexander Bennett

Does wrestling suck? Some say maybe. Others aren’t so sure. This mp3 file seeks Truth: whether to boo them, or if we should be booing ourselves. Justin (me) and Royal Pains‘ Matt Feuerstein use the Socratic method so acrimoniously that they’re not even friends anymore. A show so check it out.
