Let’s Just Chat 1: Arrested Development

Play

Spinoff of a spinoff! For some reason, Matt Feuerstein now has a podcast. For some reason, it’s called “Let’s Just Chat.” For very good reasons, he got popular Skype user Justin Shapiro, and Newsarama.com Staff Writer (as well as all-around internet champion) Albert Ching to join him for an in-depth discussion of Arrested Development. From the GENESIS of the show to the NEO GEO of the show, they peel back the layers to reveal its completely inedible core. Sometimes they even mix their fruit and vegetable metaphors. The gang asks the critics of the 4th season, “how would you like it if we came down on you, hard?” There are probably some fairly minor technical glitches (it’s a first-time recording, people!) They’re not too bad. Sorry about that. A much-too-long show, so check it out!

JUSTIN SHAPIRSHOW episode 4: New York Meets

Play

The mostly theoretical Justin Shapirshow returns for approximately one night only to reconvene with regular/only guests Royal Pains’ Matt Feuerstein and Cardinals placekicker Tom Feely. The two proud residents of New York/New Jersey attended multiple worked professional wrestling events over last Wrestlemania weekend, including but yes limited to Wrestlemania XXIX and Dragon Gate United States of America, and they offer first-person insights only available here, such as who won the matches and the identity of the new WWE champion. They also dish the dirt and the deets on their summit with some of the heavy hitters in this industry (niche wrestling podcasting), among them a certain world-beater well-regarded ’round these parts. A show so check it out

“Though the silenced opinion be an error, it may, and very commonly does, contain a portion of truth; and since the general or prevailing opinion on any subject is rarely or never the whole truth, it is only by the collision of adverse opinions that the remainder of the truth has any chance of being supplied.” – Stuart Alexander Bennett

Does wrestling suck? Some say maybe. Others aren’t so sure. This mp3 file seeks Truth: whether to boo them, or if we should be booing ourselves. Justin (me) and Royal Pains‘ Matt Feuerstein use the Socratic method so acrimoniously that they’re not even friends anymore. A show so check it out.

Joe Versus The World – 46: Justin Shapiro & Matt Foy [WrestleMania, XI-XXIII]

Justin Shapiro & Matt Foy return for part II of our Wrestlemania retrospective. We cover the highs and lows of XI-XXII, along with some thoughts on XXIII, plus shampoo, all I needed to know about race relations I learned from Triple H, the Wrestlemania legacy of Paul London, jerks in the crowd with dumbfounded expressions, barbarians with water bottles, Khali: color commentator, Matt gets, uh, excited after WM XX, I lean on the fast forward during the Iron Man match, and Justin gets peal harbored by Gorilla Monsoon. Bigger, badder, and better at a whopping 90 minutes!

All this plus a lesson in Roman numerals, Robert Conrad, a rant about Wrestlemania III attendance, what Dave Meltzer thought of these shows, what sucked more: IV vs. IX, Dockers, blindfolds, wrestler death tolls, plus special music and the unveiling of the GORILLA MONSOON DROP BOARD. Joe Versus The World – 35: Rob Naylor & Matt Foy

Rob Naylor & Matt Foy join us to recap Ring of Honor’s 12/23 show in Manhattan. Both were they live, and we run down all the results, including Homicide’s title win, a great tag match, Larry Sweeney, and the big party. Plus we have thoughts on ROH in 2006, including our thoughts for best match and show of the year. Plus, ECW in a mosque, Rob cops to seeing CZW in a bar, and I don’t say a whole heck of a lot. We fly high for over an hour of power!
