JUSTIN SHAPIRSHOW Episode 14 – Booyaka Booyaka 519

May the 19th be with you! That’s right, our annual May 19th Shapir supershow is happening again. Senior correspondent Albert Ching (ComicBookResources.com) guests to discuss not just the history but the deeper significance of this date. Included under that thematic umbrella are: the twisted & disturbed life of Kane, Kane now being a demon from hell in relation to the Sartre quote “hell is other people,” dead crowds in contrast to Al’s live Wrestlemania week experience, some attempted devil’s advocacy for a few of WWE’s demonized divas, and a discussion of a couple of this year’s summer blockbusters released on or around May 19th and what they portend for Daredevil’s prospective team-up with Batista. A show so check it out.

JUSTIN SHAPIRSHOW EPISODE 11 – E! BOLA

California…” – John McClane, Die Hard 2: Die Hard 2

The prodigal Matt Feuerstein (actor/producer, Royal Pains) returns to join Albert Ching (managing editor, Comic Book Resources) for a discussion of the end of the most famous streak in wrestling, Albert’s legendary run of attending almost every SummerSlam at the Staples Center (excepting 2012, the 1, behind the 1, in 2012). An embedded reporter at the Battle of Los Angeles, Albert also provides a full debriefing on the guerilla warfare, precision strikes, aerial tactics, and dangerous ricochets after three nights of fighting. In the interest of equal time laws, they also preview the unprecedented third season of Total Divas — you’ve heard of a dinner bell, but a Bella lunch? Plus an examination of the rematch clause, the latest casting news on an upcoming WWE Film, and of course, what we all look for in these encounters: bone-rattling slams. A show so check it out.

JUSTIN SHAPIRSHOW EPISODE 5: The Biggest Parody of the Summer

“California…” – John McClane, Die Hard

In his record-breaking 4th appearance on the Sha’show, “Mr. PPV” Matt Feuerstein has truly done it again, attending SummerSlam 2013 with Los Angeles angel of Anaheim Albert Ching (the prodigal son of thecubsfan.com returns!). Intrepid host Justin Shapiro tries to get them to admit they’re lying about the whole thing through a series of rigorous questions. From ring of fire to Ring of Honor, stuff that occurred at SummerSlam is talked about. They assess the company’s astonishing new landscape, and Albert identifies the overlooked WWE bigwig most single-handedly responsible for their changes in philosophy. Plus, and this is the God’s honest truth, the debut of Matt’s brand new comedy single. A show so check it out.

Let’s Just Chat 1: Arrested Development

[powerpress]

Spinoff of a spinoff! For some reason, Matt Feuerstein now has a podcast. For some reason, it’s called “Let’s Just Chat.” For very good reasons, he got popular Skype user Justin Shapiro, and Newsarama.com Staff Writer (as well as all-around internet champion) Albert Ching to join him for an in-depth discussion of Arrested Development. From the GENESIS of the show to the NEO GEO of the show, they peel back the layers to reveal its completely inedible core. Sometimes they even mix their fruit and vegetable metaphors. The gang asks the critics of the 4th season, “how would you like it if we came down on you, hard?” There are probably some fairly minor technical glitches (it’s a first-time recording, people!) They’re not too bad. Sorry about that. A much-too-long show, so check it out!

Heat 03/16 (456)

If I write something on Saturday, why am I waiting till Tuesday to write this little blurb to point to it? I dunno. Questions like this, and how to sneak in a link to Albert Ching, Comic Book LA Beat Reporter, are the kinda of things that distract me when I’m busy and don’t get addressed when I’m not.

To be fair to me, this had a Duggan squash, a Cryme Tyme squash, and someone decided Eugene/Kenny was the kind of match that demands an eight minute rematch, so…no one’s missing anything.

Watching RAW, I was wondering how they possibly could manage to do a Heat this week, what with everyone on the Heat roster working RAW (Battle Royal, shaved head), but apparently they got to work twice on Monday. Lucky them.

Also, if Monday was the end of Eugene, I am so ready. If it was a test for Todd as ECW host, I’m okay with that.

Albert Ching, who’s written a massive two times for this very site, sent SmackDown spoilers to WO.com, and they’ve been met with scorn and fury across this great interweb. I’m proud to know the man. I’m proud to know the man.

I was half asleep but reading websites this morning, and I was halfway down the spoilers when I realized something strange was going on. It made more a lot more sense when I looked at the author title.

offTopic #1: when Sven calls Albert a bad Justin ripoff, he’s fondly recalling the OWF.

offTopic #2: haven’t heard yet what Tanvir thinks of WSX’s Second Coming. I guess we shouldn’t be surprised it rose three days later, but I should stop now before I steal more material.
