Hey! It's the Kliq (Spanky, manager Jason Sensation and Shooter
Shultz) and they're talking. Spanky is modeling his coon skin hat.
Jason: "Tonight we got the Haas Brothers, they think that they're so
tough."
Spanky: "Seton Hall graduates, all Americans, my ears have heard
enough!"
Jason: "They wish they were like Kurt Angle, but to me, they're just a
bluff."
Spanky: "They wear skimpy singlets, to try to fool people and make
themselves look buff."
Jason: "Charlie Haas looks like a dog [pause to think of a rhyme] and barks
like one, ruff ruff!"
Spanky: "Russ Hass a little goatee [pause, unsure of what to say] and looks
like Billy Goat Gruff?"
Shooter: (more annoyed with each bad rhyme) "Alright you jerks, stop that
stuff."
(Spanky and Jason share a laugh. Shooter just shakes his head in disgust.)
Shooter: "Look, the Kliq never got their rematch for the tag team titles,
so we're taking this [shoots a look at Jason] - I'M taking this match very
seriously. Manager, try to manage not to act like an idiot for thirty seconds.
And you, you better hold up your end of the tag team. We're walking out of her
tonight with those belts."
The counter point, provided by the Haas Brothers
Charlie: "All of our lives, we've been students, not only of wrestling,
but of the greatest tag teams in history. That's right, that includes the
greatest tag teams that have preformed right here, in the Memphis territory.
We've seen all the tapes! Tapes that included a concession brawl in Tupelo, a
tape that included what of the most gruesome matches between the Moondogs and
the Fabulous Ones. But you know what, all the tapes and all the studying can not
prepare us for the harsh reality that lies ahead of us, especially with the
Southern Tag Team Titles around our waists!"
Russ: "That's right, we've only had the belts for a shh, a few short weeks,
and I feel like we already have a bullseye painted on our heads. We got jumped
in Jonesboro, Arkansas, by two cowards. And tonight, we've the Kliq, and believe
me Kliq, we can get nuts too. And it just seems like there's no time for
celebration with these belts."
Charlie: "You know that's right. Don't worry about it, Russ, because after
we take the Kliq to school and get the one two three, we're gonna uncork the
champagne and the party is gonna start here. That's right, tonight, the party's
gonna start here in Camedon, Tennessee, and after it's all said and done, we're
gonna live it up."
Russ: "Think we'll stop by Bill Dundee's place?"
Charlie: "If you want, we can."
And we cut to the open before Charlie can complete his thought. No harm.
Southern Heavyweight Champion Steve Bradley (w/Victoria) is out and I'm sick of transcribing. Bradley says that he's defended this belt and beat everyone around here, so it's about time he gets a break, a time out. His match versus Joey Abs tonight should be a non-title match. And here's Joey Abs to scare Bradley into a corner. Also, Abs is in a bad mood - he's sick of Bradley ducking him and making it a non-title match every time they do meet. Abs promises to beat up Bradley until he gets that title shot. And now Pete Gas is out. His friendship with Abs is over - Pete is ticked that Abs keeps interfering in his matches, causing him to lose. Same to you, Bradley. Gas wants either of them or both of them right now. He's gonna get one of them before the night's over. Gas, Bradley and Abs have an off mic verbal conversation that leads to a physical confrontation, with Bradley being the first one to take off. Time for a break.
American Dragon (w/Jason Sensation and maybe Shooter Shultz) vs Rodrageous! - Dragon is part of the Kliq too, of course. I thought I saw Shooter but he's not mentioned in the graphic so who knows. That ! is actually part of Rod's graphic. Sensation with the distraction so Dragon can attack from behind, there's a forearm, forearm, forearm, where's the bell? There we go. Turnbuckle smash and rights in the corner. Dragon takes Rod's cap from his head, slaps him with it, and throws it to Jason. Jason models it for the fans. Corner whip, reversed, hiptoss. Armdrag. Whip, inverted atomic drop. Kick to the stomach. Snap suplex. Dragon rolls out to take a breather - "That's it, we're out of here!" Rod catches up with him and he's got forearms. Jett (oh, yea, David Jett is your announcer), who was hyping an announcement about WWF guys on upcoming MCW shows: "A lot of you may be aware of the situation going down with Extreme Championship Wrestling, it's pretty pretty much no more. We've got Paul Heyman showing up on WWF Television and in just a few weeks, Christian York and Joey Matthews will be coming here. There are rumors of Rhyno and Jerry Lynn going to the World Wrestling Federation." We'll get the thoughts of the MCW guys on this situation. In the meantime, and in between bursts of punches, Rod threw Dragon into the ringpost (which he seemed to almost miss) and into the ring (he didn't miss.) Rod in and Dragon stomps him. Chop. Whip, reversed, kick to the stomach, off the ropes, warming up the arm for the swinging neckbreaker but he took too long because Dragon reverses to a backslide. Dragon quickly gives up on that, lets go off one arm causing Rod to turn around, and executes a jawbreaker. Jumping enziguri! Dragon moves the elbow pad into position. Turnbuckle shot. Chop. Corner whip, there is the running jumping forearm smash. Scoop - blockbuster suplex with bridge! One two kickout! Kick by Dragon, but Rod is back with rights. Dragon with an eye gouge to change that. Rake across the ropes Jett talking about Dragon respecting only the Japanese legends: "Kobashi, Kawada, Misawa, maybe even Giant Baba and Kimala too, who knows?" Choke on the second rope. Distract the ref so Jason can put on a bad looking choke. Didn't last long. Stomping. Turnbuckle smash. Right. Dragon turns to argue with referee Charlie Miller (who wasn't actually saying anything to Dragon) and Rod takes over in the corner, right, chop, chop, right, there's a Dragon kick and a knee to stop that. Stomp. Snap mare. Stiff kick to the back. Cover one two kickout. Dragon lets Rod up - no, he's stomping him back down. Push into the corner, corner whip, charge in and Rod gets an elbow up. There's the swinging neckbreaker. Both men down. Jason pounding the mat and both men getting up. Dragon with a right but Rod ducks and hits two of his own. There's a third. Whip, spinning heel kick. Picking Dragon up - suplex, no Rod puts Dragon over his shoulder and carries him around. Why is the ref getting so close to them? Oh, so Rod can suddenly turn around and knock him down with Dragon's feet by mistake. Jason up on the apron, Jason knocked back down. Rod with a little jig and a totally unimpressive standing head scissors neck twist (not that Rod did it bad, but it's not that thrilling of a move.) Shooter Shultz is in - capture suplex on Rod! Spanky off the top with the frog splash! Dragon rolls over and the ref recovers to do the Earl Hebner count - one, two, SHOULDER UP? Aww. Dragon signals the forearm again and charges, but Rod grabs the arm and turns it into a DDT. Both men down again. Jason pounding the mat to get Dragon back into it. Rod is back up but Shooter's up on the apron to distract the ref. Rod choose to go after Jason, picking him up off the floor to give him a right to send him back now, but now Dragon's up. Rod's right misses, spinning forearm smash doesn't. Spanky with a second frog splash! Well, if that doesn't do it - one two three (6:34) Sure Jett, it might have taken the entire Kliq to get past Rod, but they did get past him.
Black and white video. An agitated Joey Abs: "I've been watching the WWF. I'm contemplating my future in the WWF. I think that, well, maybe I'll be the next one to get called up, maybe I'll be the next superstar. [clip] Then a smaller independent organization folds. And some of their talent gets picked up by the World Wrestling Federation. And all I can think is 'there goes my spot.' They hire someone like Rhyno? He's not even my equal, and I'm down here busting my ass for nearly a year. And they pick him up just because he was a big superstar in a small, independent promotion like I'm working in? Well, I'll tell you what - that's b[bleep]. That should be MY spot Rhyno, if you're tough, if you're a bad ass, why don't you come down here and find out. I'll destroy you like I've been ripping through everybody else in MCW and I'll hoist your big ass up, eight feet above the canvas, and I'll drop you on the back of your neck. You know what, Rhyno, you come down here and I'll leave your ass laying just like I've left everyone else laying. If you're bad enough, come down to MCW to find out what it's like to get in the ring with a real man!" Break.
Hey, just plugs and another break. Plugs.
Jack Dupp (w/W tights) vs Lance Cade - Wait, Cade doesn't even make it to the ring before Bo Dupp (w/"The Big Schwartz...100% German Beef) is out and attacking him from behind. Bo attacks the left leg and throws him in, so Jack can work the leg as well. Bo's in the ring too, Jack holds Cade's leg so Bo can stomp and splash it. The ref's trying to get Bo out of the ring - so what, they're gonna do this match anyway? The ref and Bo argue down the aisle while Jack continues stomping Cade's left leg. Single leg Boston Crab on the left leg. Is this a match? Cade has the ropes but I don't think that'll help. Jett says we haven't even officially started, but the ref comes back and there's the bell. Stomp to the left knee. Cade can't even stand. Jack stomping him doesn't help. Now Jack is helping him up - kneebreaker (but on the wrong leg - Cade continues to sell the left one anyway.) Figure Four! The left leg is the bent leg; I forget which leg it is that's actually getting hurt there. Showing that I'm not the only forgetful person here, Cade's shoulders are down on the mat and the ref doesn't remember to count. He does keep asking Cade if he's gonna give. Oh, there's a count - one two kickout. Jack with a punch to the left leg, but Cade's trying to turn it - or maybe reach the ropes now. Her'es got it. Jack waits to three to left go, then argues iwth the ref about it. Slam. Figure four back on - no, Cade reverses to a small package (and gets an arm trapped underneath Jack, so Jack's right shoulder isn't actually touching the mat) one two kickout. Kick to the back of the bad leg. Got to give Jack credit for being consistent. Jack picks up Cade, but Cade's firing back with punches. Scoop, oh no his knee gave out before he even start to slam him. Jack gets up, drags Cade to a ring post, and slams the left knee into it. The ref warns him but he doesn't care. Push in the corner, right. Corner whip, Cade falls down in the other corner. Ref asks him if he wants to give up but no. Jack charges and collects a back elbow. Superkick! I think Cade went down on the attempt, but we don't have a good camera angle of it, but he is down after so you gotta figure. Jack's punch is blocked, Cade's not. Repeat. Left, left, right, whip, back elbow. Cade is limping, but managing a forearm smash in the corner. Ten punch count a long. Bulldog - no, Jack pushes free and Cade falls by himself, right on that bad left leg. Headbutt. Corner whip, reversed, Cade's leg doesn't seem to be that hurt when he's charging in, and he meets a back elbow. Jack charges out - right into a sidewalk slam. One two three. (4:04) Bo is back, but Cade is ready for him - duck, right, right, right, sidewalk slam! It's odd how Cade's leg stopped hurting whenever he went to do a move.
Black and white video, American Dragon. "You know, the WWF signed all these ECW wrestlers, like Justin Credible and Rhyno and all these guys. [clip] And the Internet giving play to all these big Hardcore Icons who smash people with chairs and go through tables, and all that junk. [clip] Over in Japan, guys like Tajiri, guys like myself, we're respected. But American wrestling, they've created a whole generation of fans who don't even know the meaning of wrestling. Well, if they ever give me a chance to wrestle that ECW scum, I'm gonna show them what wrestling is all about." Break, but a quick one.
Shooter Shultz & Light Heavyweight Champion Spanky (w/Jason Sensation) vs the Haas Brothers for the Southern Heavyweight Title - Shooter is as serious as always. Spanky and Jason take turns doing that "HBK steps in front of Diesel because he wants all the attention" bit down the aisle. And then Jason dances! It disturbs Jett and me. Charlie and Shooter to start. Lockup, go behind and inside cradle by Charlie zero. Armbar by Charlie, twist, Shooter pushes him to the ropes. Right, right, whip, reversed, dropkick by Charlie. Jett makes the Kurt Angle comparison to these two, as has been done all night. Charlie's got that armbar back on. Shooter pushes him in the ropes, break, punch by Shooter. Whip, hiptoss, no Charlie reverses into an armdrag. Here's another, with an armbar. Eye rake by Shooter. Right. Turnbuckle shot. Tag to Spanky. Right. Right. Shoulder to the gut. Corner whip, reversed, Charlie charges in, Spanky with a second rope springboard moonsault to land behind Charlie, but Charlie clotheslines him anyway. Kick, whip, Charlie misses shim on the first time through but hits a tilt-a-whirl side slam for one two Shooter breaks it up. Spanky is dazed and confused. Right by Charlie. Armbar. Tag to Russ. Whip, assisted slingshot somersault bodyblock by Russ for one two kickout. Right, right, corner whip, charge in, clothesline by Russ. Chop. Corner whip, forward roll and a dropkick. Armbar. Into a headlock by Russ, off the ropes, Spanky ducks down and Shooter pulls down the top rope. Russ takes out Jason on the way down. Shooter's on him, but Russ gets the better of that - plancha by Spanky finnaly takes down Russ. He's thrown back in and Spanky covers one two kickout. Boot scrape! Tag to Shooter. Kick, kick. Russian legsweep/dropkick combo! Shooter floats over to cover, one, Russ grabs the ropes with both hands, and this upsets Shooter. Rights by Russ but a forearm stops him down. Whip, back elbow. Jett is trying to hype this weekend's house show to those who are seeing this TV before it, and thank the people who did come out for those who are seeing this TV after it. "If you're gonna suck up, suck up to everyone." Shooter antagonizes Charlie, so he comes in and gets the ref's attention while Shooter and Spanky double team stomp down Russ. Spanky makes the clapping noise to tag himself in. More stomping. Punch exchange and Spanky's a punching bag. Russ off the ropes, drop toe hold on to the bottom rope by Spanky. Tag to Shooter, Charlie is now leaning on the top rope, facing away from the ring. Spanky picks him up by his legs, so his head and arms are resting on the top rope, and Shooters gives him a hard kick to the chest. Then Shooter does the lift so Spanky can dropkick Russ in the face. Cover by Shooter one Charlie pulls him off. Shooter notices the ref ushering Charlie out and milks it so Spanky can boot choke Russ some. Side backbreaker, held over the leg. Here's a side slam. One, kickout. Shooter moves over to recover, one two kickout. Russ wants a tag, so Shooter pops Charlie. Charlie distracts the ref again, and Spanky pops in with a slingshot elbow drop. Stomp. Spanky is covering, one two kickout. Russ is fighting back with punches but this time Spanky manages an eye rake. Right, kick, tag to Shooter. Kick, kick, kick, kick, argue with the ref. Shooter again baits Charlie to get the ref distracted so Spanky and Jason can get another choke in. Right. Right. Corner whip, reversed, rebound out into a belly to belly suplex. Both men down and needing a tag. Shooter is up at 7 and makes the tag, but so does Russ. Right for Spanky. Right for Spanky, right for shooter, whip and powerslam for Spanky cover one two Shooter breaks it up. Shooter lifts Spanky over his shoulder and goes over to Charlie - Spanky grabs Charlie's head and Shooter spins him, for a assisted elevated swinging DDT! Spanky with the delayed cover one two Russ breaks it up. Shooter with rights for Russ. American Dragon is out at ringside. Charlie with a slow Michinoku Driver on Spanky, as Shooter has been thrown out of the ring. Charlie and Russ go for their finisher (Total Haastility - rolling legdrop, handspring moonsault maybe?) but Dragon trips up Russ so he can't hit whatever the second part is. Shooter has Charlie in a full nelson, and Jason is in the ring with the Light Heavyweight Belt - Charlie escapes and Shooter eats the belt. Charlie grabs Jason by the neck and Jason screams, but still gets punched. Dragon off the top rope, but he's caught in an atomic drop - Charlie with a belly to back roll over cradle, I think (if that doesn't make sense to you, just worry about the cradle part) and the ref goes to count, but then either realizes that Russ is on the top rope and about to come off, or maybe that Dragon's not even in this match. Russ with an elbow drop to Dragon's exposed groin and this match is still going. Spanky tries for an Acid Drop on Charlie, but Charlie holds him up long enough that Russ can come over, grab Spanky in the air, and powerbomb him hard to the mat. Here's Total Haastitly and it is a handspring moonsault - Russ covers Spanky, Shooters' too out if to make the save, and the count is one two three. (9:15)
Black and White, it's Joe E. Legend: "ECW is pretty much DOA and now all their superstars seem to be appearing on WWF TV. Well, it appears the WWF doesn't seem realize who they're dealing with. I've been a legend in this business since I got in, and I'm only getting stronger. They may be these Hardcore Heroes, but, I've said before and I'll say it again, heroes come and heroes go, but legends live forever." Break.
Pete Gas (already in the ring) vs Seven (already in the ring) - No time to waste, I guess, as the match is just about to start when we get in. Lockup, Gas pushes Seven into the corner but offers a clean break, so of course Seven kicks him. Kick, right. Turnbuckle shot. Right. Right. Right. Right. Whip, reversed, hiptoss by Abs. Slam. Clothesline. Push in the corner. Right, right, right, right. Corner whip, reversed, but Abs comes out with a clothesline. Push in the corner. Right, kick, kick, kick, the ref forces him to back off and that allows Seven to pull something out from his tights - Pete sees it and keeps trying to avoid it, ducking a punch and going for a back suplex, but Seven knocks him in the head a few times, then sneaks it back into his trunks after he's fallen to the mat. Slam. The ref checks on Gas, which allows Seven to go for the object again. We get a good shot of the knuckles again - second rope fistdrop but Gas moves out of the way. Seven's right is blocked and Gas' isn't. Repeat. Right, right, whip, pick up and an awkward spinebuster. Seven must've put the knuckles back at some point because I don't seem them down. Pete pulls up Seven, and gets an eye rake for his trouble. Right, right, right, whip, not pretty side slam. Both slow up and Seven is again going for the knuckles. Seven is waiting for Gas to turn around - flying ax-handle is caught and Pete turns it into the Gas Mask. One two three. (3:05) Break. And then one of those quick plugs and quick breaks.
Southern Heavyweight Champion Steve Bradley (w/Victoria) vs Joey Abs in a non-title match - Pete Gas has joined Jett for commentary. Lockup, Abs pushes Bradley down. Pete says he's gonna get one or both of them by the end of the night. Lock up, armbar by Bradley, twist. Abs reverses, twist, into a hammerlock, into a headlock, off the ropes, over, shoulderblock by Abs. We're reminded that Pete Gas is the current Power Pro Wrestling Champion. Right. Forearm. Forearm. Whip, kick to the midsection, vertical suplex, one two kickout. Right. Corner whip, rebound, front slam. Running second rope splash, but Bradley gets his knees up. Swinging neck breaker. Boot. Whip, clothesline. Cover one two kickout. Choke on the second ropes. Bradley distracts the ref and Victoria gets in her punch. Chinlock with a knee in the back. Abs elbows out, but Bradley knocks him down with a big back elbow. Cover one two kickout. Whip, head down too soon, Abs with a sunset flip but Victoria's up on the apron, arguing with the ref. Bradley gets free and knocks down with a clothesline. Cover one two kickout. Chinlock with a knee in the back. Abs tires to elbow out, but Abs pulls him down his hair. Bradley throws Abs out, almost taking out Victoria in the process. Victoria gets her kicks in. Bradley comes out to add on more, but gets an apron smash. So then he runs in the ring, Abs follows, and Bradley stomps him. Right, corner whip, charge in, Abs moves out of the way - German suplex drops Bradley right on his head! Gas even notices. Abs with rights - corner whip, backdrop on the rebound. Whip, big boot, cover one two shoulder up. Right, right, right, oh the ref got to close and gets knocked down when Abs pulls his arm back for another one. Abs, seeing the ref down, decides this would be a good time for an Absolute. Victoria doesn't think so - she's in with a forearm to the back, but that just annoys Abs. Annoys him enough that he forget about Bradley - forearm to the back, Last Rites (or whatever Bradley calls it.) The ref is still down and Pete's seen enough; right to Bradley knocks him out of the ring. Bradley grabs his belt and nails Pete with it. Back in the ring, Victoria is standing over Abs and slapping him in the face - there's the goozle, now into the set up - Absolute! Bradley in with the belt, but Abs ducks and kicks Bradley - Absolute for Bradley. Abs lays Victoria covering Bradley, and then covers here - one two three. (6:33) But it's only a non-title match. Pete didn't get much of renege, but he's coming back in the ring now, and he and Abs are having an animated conversation about what just happened. Abs strikes first with the knockout punch, and that ends that.
