Previous: unknown!

05/06 Edit: Poster claims his a friend of the wrestlers in the company, and they promised him this was official. The poster has seven posts on the board, which is always disconcerting, though one of them was announcing AAA's Dos y Tres magazine. I dunno about this one, but I figure it can get shot down pretty quickly if it's wrong.

No sign of Chessman or the Lider/Nicho faction. I guess you can't book Nicho this far down the line seriously.

Is there *ANYONE* who *DOESN'T* believe Roldan is going to turn on Ciber and become the rudo president of the company? And if there is, did you forget to take your medication today?

thecubsfan wrote on (Reply):

I have a small hope they'll come to their senses and not do it, because Roldan doesn't seem to be a guy who can pull it off in anything resembling an entertaining fashion, but it's hard to believe Konnan and others resisting it.

It'd probably mean Zorro is champion and third in his own group to Roldan and Konnan.

Rob wrote on (Reply):

Oh man, you're gonna love this Cubs...

They just had a skit before the tag title match from Zapopan where a 'mystery man' (as we'll find out after the next match - Joe Lider) greets Halloween/Extreme Tiger/TJ Extreme and tells them he'll help them out.

So what comes next?

Well obviously... Lider will be killing those same guys with chairshots and putting them through tables for 20 minutes before finally joining their side.:)

USAUSA1 wrote on (Reply):

What's the point of Roldan turning? Plus, since this is Triplemania I have a little faith that the babyface will win the main event.

Rob wrote on (Reply):

The Joe Lider turn is hilarious on so many levels. I like how he can memorize every single move he sees on a DVD but has no clue how to do a post-match brawl with Juventud and just kinda stands there wondering why Juventud is punching/kicking him and not doing any devastating suplexes or headdropping.

USAUSA1 wrote on (Reply):

Show came on a hour early today. The only match I missed was the clown match.

I don't know where they going with Lider vs. Juvy but I like that Juvy did not look like a punk and wanted to fight.

Rob wrote on (Reply):

Noti AAA just announced the 'International Reina De Reinas' is coming up. Probably an 8 person tournament with 1 Mexican.:P

Upcoming TV:

May 4 - Expo Lucha (didn't say it was for TV but it was listed so they might tape a match or two)
May 19 - Leon
May 30 - Cancun
June 1 - Merida

Reina De Reinas will probably be when they go on a working vacation for those final two shows.

Rob wrote on (Reply):

The Head Hunter/Jack/Teddy match was awesome but I'm mark for that team so you'll have to ignore my opinion.:)

USAUSA1 wrote on (Reply):

Surprise you like the match, the top rope moonsault from Headhunter look so painful. It was a good match.

I have a funny feeling Alebrije will recruit the HB's to take on the Clowns at Triplemania.

Tim wrote on (Reply):

Any Idea who Black Abyss could be? I'm guessing it's not the real Abismo Negro and the tecnico Abismo Negro is a fake right?

Rob wrote on (Reply):

The tecnico Abismo Negro is the real one although no other AAA tecnico trusts he really is a tecnico.

According to LuchaWiki and photos that would seem to verify it - Black Abyss is the ex-Angel Mensajero.

Daniel wrote on (Reply):

I don't like the idea of Roldan turning Rudo but I guesse they may as well since the Rudos are pretty much running the show as it is.

Plus, in Roldan's early days he was making questionable decisions so I guesse this would be a very late follow up to that.

USAUSA1 wrote on (Reply):

No Clowns, I call bullshit.

Chessman would obviously be with Manson and La Parka.

This seems like a dreamcard that he made up. Danielson?

Really, if he is a friend of one of the wrestlers in AAA, i've been fucking Fabi Apace and Estrellita on different nights.

Rob wrote on (Reply):

Is there really a point in discussing this preliminary lineup? I'll just bash it when it's officially confirmed. I have zero doubts this is the official lineup though and somewhere out there Konnan is waiting for people to kiss his feet for bringing AAA to a level it's never been before...

~BRYAN DANIELSON! Excuse me while I don't mark out for a guy who couldn't even draw a crowd of 500 people on his own. Make that 250.

Tim wrote on (Reply):

Who you kidding Rob? You know if this is the real ballot, you'll mark for Marvin vs Evans.

Lashley in AAA? That's about as likely as Goldberg in AAA.

USAUSA1 wrote on (Reply):

I think bringing in Danielson is to create some sort of buzz on the internet which will not work.AAA can outdraw any US indy in the US on any given date without Danielson. Remember lucha don't get the kind of love everybody else gets on the net and I guess this is some kind of way to create a buzz.

Even though I hate indy wrestling I think Danielson is pretty damn great as a wrestler and might teach guys like Lider that hardcore wrestling is not the best.Danielson is one guy on the indy scene that I actually give a damn about. Then you got Ricky Marvin. Ricky Marvin and Danielson in the same match can't be bad.

I doubt this is the card just because there is no Clowns match and am pretty sure they will have a match.

Triplemania still look interesting compare to last year and we only got one match announced.

Rob wrote on (Reply):

Marvin vs Evans already took place in Japan with better workers on each team and drew 1,000 fans (maybe).

Boy that internet buzz is sure working for ROH who are ecstatic that they will have their biggest crowd yet this weekend - a whopping 1,300 or so~! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW! So like 1/6th the average AAA TV taping. Yay internet buzz~!

USAUSA1 wrote on (Reply):

It's a Konnan thing.

Look on the bright side, it could of been worse. Imagine if the name was Nigel.

I guess we will find out the real card soon.

This rumor card is still better than last year card at least on paper.

I doubt Abismo and Niebla would agree to lose their masks,if they do then AAA really is better at delivering than CMLL.

Tim wrote on (Reply):

Come on Rob, You can't compare ROH to AAA. AAA is one of the biggest promotions in Mexico while ROH is still an indy. Plus AAA runs big bull rings while ROH does little buildings. A better comparison would be ROH and IWRG or ROH and AULL.

Rob wrote on (Reply):

Why is why ROH guys should be working in IWRG or AULL. All the guys that idolize them work there anyhow.

Daniel wrote on (Reply):

USAUSA1 You're wrong about one thing. This years card DOES NOT look anywhere near as good as last year's card looked on paper. Last year's card looked great on paper, unfortunately it was terribly played out. If this year's card is what this "friend in the company" claims it to be then it's gonna suck for sure.

luchalibrelive! wrote on (Reply):

I was thinking ROH would get 2,000 paid in Manhattan. That's with no advertising outside their internet fans. AAA would have to spend $30,000 in hard cash to get the same turnout in NYC, or any US city. ROH probably has the same number of employees working in the office too. ROH has a staff working all day on DVD's, booking venues, etc......... Sure, AAA is still bigger, but ROH deserves a lot of respect.

I would imagine ROH is a million times more professional to work with.

Bruce wrote on (Reply):

ROH doesnt get 2000 in Manhattan. the building they run cant even hold that many. and of everyone they could have brought in, why Danielson? yes, he's a good wrestler, but he doesnt fit in at all with the rest of the wrestlers in the match at all. it should be another US indy high flyer. i'm thinking this is wrong. they should bring in Kenny Omega. he fits perfectly, he's friends with Evans and Hart, and he's a whole lot cheaper to bring in. and i agree about the Abismo/Niebla match not being a mask match. i believe Rob said that Abismo will eventually face Black Abyss in a mask match and i'd say that's more of a reality then Niebla/Abismo for the masks. and there is no way Bobby Lashley works this show. his no compete clause is up in 3 days and he's apparently still deciding between TNA or MMA. Brock Lesnar working this show is more believable. and if Chessman isnt teaming with Charly and La Parka, then they are missing a match for sure. and if he is, then this guy is wrong anyway as it's not a big AAA show without Chessman taking some kind of sick bump. of the matches he listed, aside from the main and semi-main, only Fabi/Mari will probaly happen as listed.

luchalibrelive! wrote on (Reply):

RoH is running a bigger venue. They're moving to the upstairs Hammerstein Ballroom with capacity of over 2.000.

AAA can draw in the US, but they always spent $20,000 or $30,000 to get 2.000-3.000 people.

Rob wrote on (Reply):

Years ago... 12 years ago...

Rob wrote on (Reply):

And don't tell me that was 100% Pena wanting to conquer New York. Konnan had his ear and wanted to be a huge star in the U.S. by coming over as the big guy in AAA.

luchalibrelive! wrote on (Reply):

AAA in NYC was actually 14 years ago. God the time flies.

So today, with inflation, I guess AAA would have to spend $50,000. They spent $33,000 in NYC to be exact. In other cities like Houston and Dallas, which were not 12 years ago, they spent $20-$30 thousand.

Yes. Pena wanted to conquer the US. After success in LA and San Jose, Skoler and Pena wanted to conquer the US in house shows, PPV, etc.......

k.D.b wrote on (Reply):

Well ROH is not that bad, they drew very well for their Chicago shows. I honestly think things have gone down because some of their top guys (Joe, Homicide, Daniels to name a few) are in TNA.

Bryan Danielson in Mexico is not actuall pretty bad, it opens a whole new chapter for him and it gives a chance for mexico to see AmDragon and what he brings to the table.

My question is who is the other question mark, and I hop Roldan does not turn, this would be like when Eric Bischoff turned heel and joined the nWo.

luchalibrelive! wrote on (Reply):

Come to think of it, Roldan may be giving himself more tv time than Vince McMahon these days.

thecubsfan Author Profile Page wrote on (Reply):
replying to luchalibrelive!

Roldan is much more Eric Bischoff like. I think Robert has it wrong - it'd make more sense for Konnan to be borrowing from '96 WCW.

Rob wrote on (Reply):

You could be correct. He's moving at a slower pace than I thought. ECW '95, WCW '96... WWF '97 would be the next logical step. But what then? Maybe '98 when he single handidly killed a company named Promo Azteca even though they had the best talent roster in all of Mexico?

Bruce wrote on (Reply):

this is mostly Konnan's work. Roldan listens to and does everything that Konnan says regarding on screen stuff and booking. expect Vince Russo type of things to happen with this match and Roldan himself.
