05/05: Coliseo, Expo, La Parka banned from using black & white?
For reasons I can't even begin to comprehend, I've been calling the Luchando Libre links by the wrong name. Total screw up on my part. Luchando Libre is the site you want to go to - they've been updating frequently, lots of great content (including video), and have been by far the best at the Expo. You really should be bookmarking the site or grabbing the RSS feed.
I don't know if I'll get an update tomorrow before I tape the Figure Four Daily show, so this is my last reminder to send in Questions you may or may not actually be able to hear answered.
CMLL (SUN) 05/04 Arena Coliseo [ovaciones]
1) Ángel Azteca Jr. & Sombra de Plata b Carrona & Semental
2) Dr. X, Hooligan, Loco Max b Molotov, Sensei, Trueno
3) Fabián el Gitano, Metálico, Mictlan DQ Arkangel de la Muerte, Bronco III, Skandalo
4) Flash, Hijo del Fantasma, La Máscara b Ephesto, Misterioso II, Texano Jr.
5) Atlantis, Olímpico, Rey Bucanero b Alex Koslov, Marco Corelone, Shocker
Rey and Shocker feuded during the match, and Rey pinned Shocker for the win with some help from the ropes. Shocker wanted either a one on one match or a rematch. He's getting a trios rematch, though with a couple guys involved.
Flash replaced Mascara Purpura. Tecnicos won the tercera when Arkangel yanked Fabian's mask and got caught. Put them in the cage!
Lucha Libre Expo

2) ? & Titan vs ?? & ???
3) Amo de la Noche & Angel O Demonio b Demoledor, Talaxys

6) Crazy Boy & El Generico b Joe Lider & Shiima Xion
Generico beat Xion for the win. Crazy Boy offered a handshake after the match, but Joe Lider spit at him.
Paranoiko is a new champ, taking the title from Segura.
BlackTerryJr. @ box y lucha posted a lot of photos from this show. the Gladiatores have photos from all of Day 3, though it's mostly this show.
AAA (SUN) 05/04 Centro Banamex [MundioHispano]
1) Mr. Niebla DQ Nicho el Millionario
2) Intocable, Octagon, Super Porky b Antifaz del Norte, Histeria, Psicosis
3) Electroshock, Kenzo Suzuki, Zorro b Charly Manson, Chessman, La Parka Jr.
Konnan helped the rudos win the main event. After the match, Mesias came out and did his usual bits. Notimex quotes him as vowing to end the nightmare that is Mesias without the belt.
Joe Lider ran in the singles match and hit Niebla with a chair for the DQ. (That's a DQ in AAA? Shocking!)
- With them all signing around the same time on Saturday, it sounds like Mistico & Perro had more autograph seekers than Cibernetico, Chessman, Mesias and Konnan. The article points out those seeing the AAA stars got to spend more time with the wrestlers as a result. Another article says lines were up to 45 minutes long.
Perro told people he'd really like have a singles match with Mistico, even if it's not a mask vs hair match. He just wants to give back to the people. Perro's also pretty sure Averno & Mephisto should have the tag team belts right now, not this whole vacant nonsense.
- CMLL's CMLL Class of 75/New Valours Cibernetico is getting some play as a wire story. Vangelis was in the match as well as the guys listed last night. Another wire story talks to the participants. Puma King and Tiger Kid are combined into one super feline named Tiger King.
- The AP posted a 1 2 3 4. The middle two are Apache training kids in wrestling. It worked for Alfa!
- Ovaciones says 30,000 people showed up for the Lucha Libre Expo over the 3 days.

A recent Box y Lucha column says LA Park has been wearing different colored outfits because AAA claims they own the black/white skeleton design. They might, but that's harsh. Also, LA Park's colored outfits have not been so great. AAA enforcing the trademark here makes me think, regardless of the how long La Parka Jr. has left, they're going to keep using the gimmick for the foreseeable future.
Word backstage at a recent Tijuana show had Hijo de Rey Misterio debuting in AAA in June or July.
Toscano explained to Notimex that he's accepted the hair match with Heavy Metal because he feels he owes the people. This is going to be Toscano's make good for missing the show in December, and he's going after Negro Casas' hair next.
Villano V says he knows more hold than Blue Panther, and doesn't just rely on a couple to get him thru. Never heard anyone challenge Panther on his technical merit before.
ix @ box y lucha writes about Sunday's GDL show. I'm holding out for full results (there's discussion about some of the matches but not finishes), but they do mention Jeque vs Metalik hair/masks match. This dspite Jeque not really having much hair.
Rey Misterio Jr. was part of a parade in Mexico City on Kid's Day. He was honored in Tijuana the week before.
SuperLuchas #262 has an interview with Dr. Wagner from the march and Silver King about his career.
In Siglo de Torreon, a Kid's Day lucha show is accused of inciting children to violence and teaching them bad language. Well, yea.
CW2 has video of the Colorado Rapids/Todos x El Todos show RGJ writes about a lucha libre show in Reno as part of their Cindo de Mayo Festival. (thanks to mikeinformer)
