04/30 AAA TV Results (Chilpancingo)

AAA TV (SAT) 04/30/2011 Plaza de Toros de Chilpancingo, Guerrero [AAAMi Lucha Libre]
1) Mascarita Divina, Mini Charly Manson, OctagoncitoMini Chessman, Mini Histeria, Mini Psicosis
Mascarita Divina pinned Mini Histeria
2) Aerostar, El Elegido, Laredo KidAlan Stone, Decnnis, Súper Fly
Aerostar shooting star press on Alan Stone.
3) Billy el Malo, Cibernético, EscoriaCuervo, Espíritu, Ozz
Escoria took the mystery spot. Black Family bled and lost on a powerbomb from Cibernetico on Ozz. After the match, Cibernetico pointed out he took out Parka’s troops and promised revenge for what Parka did to his motorcycle. (So that’s what Parka did at Cibernetico’s house.)
4) Monster Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown DQ Damián 666, Halloween, X-Fly
X-Fly replaced Perro, who ran in with Bestia 666 for the DQ. Perro Jr. demanded a meeting with Dorian Roldan, angry about having to wait for an appointment.
5) El Mesías, Heavy Metal, Nicho el MillionarioChessman, Hijo del Lizmark, LA Park
Lizmark replaced Zorro, who claimed to be hurt. Once again, Park was about to beat Mesias when Zorro got involved. This time, it was Masked Zorro who ran in and caned Park. Park blamed Konnan, Konnan swore he had nothing to do with it. Sociedad is breaking apart.

2011 AAA TV Chart
Projected Air Date (#989)
Mexico: 05/15
US: 05/28

Mi Lucha Libre notes there were five bleeders on this show – Metal, Ozz, Cuervo, Espiritu, Damian – and AAA’s twitter said the Psycho Circus bled too. Also, rudos won 2 of the last 3 and are about to take the third when a rudo attacks a rudo. This was a Kid’s Day show. Eh. Mini Chessman & Laredo Kid were also mentioned as injured.

In an interview with Mi Lucha Libre, Zorro says he will be out 4-6 weeks with a leg injury. I have no idea if that’s a storyline or a legit injury, it’s getting hard to tell with Zorro. AAA’s live recap didn’t mention an injury. Zorro’s TNA deal is brought up here again – that I’m pretty sure is off (and has been since Hernandez got a different partner.)

One day after Perro said he’d definitely be wrestling on this show, Perro did not wrestle on this show. It’s almost like you can’t believe what that man says.

Next taping is 05/13 in Cuautitlan

Edit: I guess this is now fair game now that Dorian is tweeting about it, so might as well put it here: AAA is bringing in TNA guys for TripleMania. They’ll start appearing with the SLP taping. AAA’s done this in past years, and the result has been TNA (and outsiders) having decent->good matches and the fans (and especially the announcers) having no idea who these people are. Starting the involvement before TripleMania will definitely help, but if AAA’s so excited to turn unknowns into stars, maybe they need to work that magic on some guys they already have. The one guy who has definitely gotten over in the past is Jeff Jarrett, and I’d expect for him to be prominently involved. (This is also why it seems unlikely for TripleMania to have the LA Park/Zorro/Mesias match they’re building – got to get a TNA guy in there. Maybe a fourway?)

TNA is running in a Buffalo, NY minor league baseball stadium on the same night as TripleMania. Listed for that show are Hulk Hogan, AJ Styles, Abyss, Eric Young and Beer Money. Christopher Daniels may be available, but that means most of those in last year won’t be back this year. TNA airs on 52MX in Mexico; that’s pre-empted with other programming in the US.

AAA Rey de Reyes (03/18/2011)

taped @ Plaza de Toros Monumental Aguascalientes, 03/18/2011

recap: here
file: here (via WarriorsX2000)

professionalism

I’ve got links to the TV versions of the two matches that have aired, but the PPVs are complete. WarriorX2000 has them up, though they may be in his PPV section.

Gran Apache, Mari Apache, Octagoncito, Pimpinela Escarlata vs Hijo de Tirantes, Mini Histeria, Sexy Star, Yuriko: Told the Apache/Tirantes story well, everyone else played their part. Tirantes took the loss but still made the eventually singles match meaningful.

Jack Evans, Joe Lider, La Parka, Nicho el Millionario vs Billy el Malo, Cibernético, Escoria, Nygma: Usually bit of slight of hand to allow Cibernetico to wrestle about 1 minute of a 19 minute match. Not sure if Parka is actually the guy in better shape in the feud (doubtful) or if Cibernetico’s just decided the best thing for this feud is for him to not have to sell much (likely). The whole bit with the fire was reckless but unsurprising.

Dr. Wagner Jr., Monster Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown vs Damián 666, el Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Halloween, Super Crazy: Again, the same hardcore match they’ve been doing nearly weekly, with a few ‘special’ spots for shock value. (Shocked the cameraman, who missed the table being on fire right in front of him.) If this is end for Perro Jr. for now, he goes out with a clean (as they go here) win over Dr. Wagner; they were clearly building both Wagner/Perro and Perros/Clowns (for the masks) for future matches, and at least one of those is now off.

Zorro vs Charly Manson for the AAA World Heavyweight Championship: Horrid. Back at Guerra de Titanes, I was confused as to why they didn’t let Dr. Wagner and Zorro have any semblance of a match without constant interference. They had much less interference (at least during most of the match) and let these two guys work. These two were just very bad at it. Charly tried, but there’s only so much Charly can do. Zorro – I have no idea what the actual deal with Zorro here was, but he performed a lot like a guy in no condition to perform. The Mr. Aguila/Rey Bucanero match had a crowd that came in only caring about Tirantes and the two guys weren’t good enough to get them when Tirantes left. This crowd was totally willing to get into Zorro & Charly, and that crowd was quiet by midway thru.

Tiger wins

Electroshock vs Heavy Metal: announced as a bull terrier match, but it turned out to just be a three falls match. And a three falls match where the first two falls were relatively pointless, so who knows. I think they had a lot of ideas, but did not do the best job of putting them together in a coherent manner (Like: Pepe Casas gets bumped at the end – and then it changes absolutely nothing.) There was a story they were telling with the guitars, but sometimes it was a lethal match ender, and sometimes it was just a bit at the start of matches. This was okay, but didn’t feel like the best match in the series. Seemed like this should’ve built to Metal & Electroshock teaming up from here on out, but Metal might have driven himself out of that spot.

Extreme Tiger vs El Mesías, LA Park, Carlito for the Rey de Reyes Tournament: Piero is pretty patient in starting his countout. The big bump was not big by Mesias crowd brawling standards, but the brawl was good enough to make up for it, and they gave Carlito and Extreme Tiger enough time to get the crowd to start paying attention to them and not the fight they just saw. Tiger’s win was marginalized by Wagner walking out to the ring and essentially cutting his promo for him – TIger at least needed to say a few words, and it was a lot better when they just cut that off in the TV version. Still, if they wanted Tiger to come off as an AAA star, he should’ve beat an AAA star, rather than just a guy passing thru.

04/24: Mexico previwe, IWRG, Chicago, Zorro

CMLL (FRI) 04/24 Arena Mexico
1) Molotov & Sensei vs Apocalipsis & Ramstein
2) Hiroka, Princesa Blanca, Princesa Sujei vs Lady Apache, Lluvia, Sahori
3) Mascara Dorada, Metro, Stuka Jr. vs Euforia, Nosferatu, Virus
4) Mictlan vs Dragon Rojo Jr. [lightning]
5) Blue Panther, Maximo, Volador Jr. vs Felino, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas
6) Dos Caras Jr., Terrible, Texano Jr. vs Hector Garza, La Sombra, Shocker

Previews: SuperLuchas, ESTO, Ovaciones.

Ovaciones says we’re supposed to call the main event rudos DTT, which stands for Doble Tormenta de Terror (and also their initials.) It’s nice Terrible and Texano get to be in a group (oh wait, they already had one.) I also have no idea why three men are a double.

Dragon Rojo and Mictlan had a mask match last year, but this time are limited to 10 minutes. The opener is exactly the same one they did on Sunday, FWIW.

IWRG (SUN) 04/19 Arena Naucalpan [The Gladiatores]
1) Comando Negro b Guizmo
2) Chico del Barrio & Vampiro Metalico b Daga & Eterno
3) Trauma I & Trauma II b Gemelo Fantastico I & Gemelo Fantastico II
4) Oficial 911, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro DQ Arlequin, Toxico DF, Veneno
5) Head Hunter I, Mascara Ano 2000 Jr., Negro Navarro DQ Angelico, El Alebrije, Super Porky

Top 3 all DQs, what a sight. Main event ended in DQ when Porky accidently hit a ref while trying to get at Head Hunter. Porky & Head Hunter and Alebrije & Mascara Ano 2000 Jr. paired off to make singles match challenges. Veneno fouled an Oficial. A Gemelo fouled a Trauma for a straight fall loss.

IWRG (THU) 04/23 Arena Naucalpan [Proyeccion Luchistica]
1) Chico del Barrio & Comando Negro b Azoka & Daga
2) Bobby Lee Jr., Freelance, Multifacetico b Arlequin, Bushi, Kushida
3) Negro Navarro, Trauma I, Trauma II b Black Terry, Cerebro Negro, Dr. Cerebro
4) El Alebrije, Fuerza Guerrera, Olimpico b Hijo del Cien Caras, Mascara Ano 2000, Veneno

Navarros asked for and will receive a title shot after their win. Pirata Morgan got involved in the main event, unsuccessfully. PY also has an YouTube interview with Alebrije and Pirata about being out of AAA.

Lucha Va Voom is in San Fran tonight. Mondo Lucha is in Milwaukee tomorrow (and seems to have gotten good coverage.)

In Chicago this Sunday, there are dueling Lucha Libre shows on Sunday.
Congress Theatre with Santo, Hijo del Solitario, Pirata Morgan and Mascara Sagrada
El Ray Ballroom (3504 S. Western, Chicago, IL), with Olimpico, Rayman, La Park and Atlantis

Both start at about the same time, for about the same much. Why they’re running against each other, I dunno. GALLI’s also running an outdoor show this Saturday in Lombard, though the poster doesn’t appear to be on the website. I think I may just take a nap thru it all.

Zorro visited ESTO’s offices, saying that he’s reached a good part of his career but will have to be even better with guys like Wagner and Marco in AAA. Zorro’s looking forward to the new challenges they present (and does not sound like a guy looking to leave at all.) Zorro also feels like Juvi should’ve handled his issues with AAA internally rather than go to the press.

(Refoma via Jazzo) Mascara Ano 2000 is soliciting donations to pay Cesar Curiel’s medical bills. He either has diabates or cancer, but he needs help. Interestingly, MA2K has ruled out doing a benefit show, because so little of the money makes it to the person in need. This did seem to be the case for Kato’s. He’s going to the commission instead, which isn’t much more help. His other idea is a home for old wrestlers, but that sounds a long way from happening.

Mascara Purpura is supposed to work Tuesday’s Arena Coliseo Monterrey show. That’s the locals show, not the AAA weekly one, but it’d still be very odd to see a CMLL guy there. Unless he’s not? Or maybe he’s just getting some ring time coming back from injury?

LuchandoLibre notes Los Perros will have an easy oppurtintiy to respond to AAA’s last parody, because both groups are scheduled to work the Sunday Lucha Libre Expo show.

DTU links to YouTube video of it’s last show. I hope Roberto’s getting paid for his work.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update.

CMLL (MON) 04/27 Arena Puebla
1) Black Tiger & King Jaguar vs Karisma & Mr. Rafaga
2) Bracito de Oro, Electrico, Fantasy vs Pequeno Damian 666, Pequeño Universo 2000, Pierrothito
3) Metro, Pegasso, Rey Cometa vs Euforia, Nosferatu, Skandalo
4) La Mascara, La Sombra, Volador Jr. vs Black Warrior, Dragon Rojo Jr., Sangre Azteca
5) Hector Garza, Mistico, Shocker vs Dos Caras Jr., Terrible, Texano Jr.

CMLL (TUE) 04/28 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Thunder Boy vs Milenio
2) Idolo vs Virgo
3) Nube Roja vs Exterminador
4) Casanova vs Rey Trueno
5) Saturno & Ultimo Dragoncito vs Pequeno Black Warrior & Pequeno Violencia
6) La Mascara & Volador Jr. vs Averno & Mephisto
7) Shocker vs Atlantis

CMLL (WED) 04/29 La Takaeria Chabelo [apux @ box y lucha]
1) Astro Boy Jr. vs Ulises Junior [lightning]
2) Goku, Tomrenta II, Tormenta I vs Coby, Principe Valther, Yidra
3) Cyberman, Ministro, Super Camaleon vs Angel Mortal, Inquisidor, Sakura
4) Astro Boy, Flash, Metro vs Caligula, Messala, Polvora

This is way too novato to actually be real. It is a free show, which would partially explain it.

PERROS (FRI) 05/08 Guadalajara [SuperLuchas]
1) Rabia & Ritual vs Kunami & Pesadilla
2) Celestial & Cosmico vs Mr. Aguilita & Pequeno Halloween
3) Histeria, Psicosis, X-Fly vs Damian 666, Halloween, Mr. Aguila [ladder]
4) Intocable, Olimpico, Super Porky vs Cibernetico, Head Hunter I, Super Crazy
5) Dr. Wagner Jr. vs el Hijo del Perro Aguayo

SuperLuchas notes that last year, Record did it’s show with CMLL. CMLL hasn’t announced a special show in ACG for this date, but that’s just got to be a matter of time. I presume this is at the University (as all major non-CMLL GDL shows seem to be).

04/22: Mexico, Monterrey, Zorro

CMLL

CMLL (TUE) 04/21 Arena Mexico [ESTO]
1) Rayo Tapatio I & Rayo Tapatio II b Apocalipsis & Semental
2) Angel Azteca Jr., Angel de Oro, Angel de Plata b Caligula, Messala, Polvora

3) Bam Bam, Mascarita Dorada, Shockercito DQ Pequeño Damian 666, Pequeño Universo 2000, Pequeño Warrior
4) Black Warrior, Lizmark Jr., Misterioso II b HIjo del Fantasma, Sagrado, Valiente
5) La Mascara, Mistico, Volador Jr. b Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto

Main event ended with Mistico and Averno left alone in the ring and you know how that goes. Funny how Mistico remembers to do La Mistica against Averno, but seems to have forgotten to use it again Negro. ESTO mentions the rudos were screwing around outside the ring during the second fall and actually got counted out by Tigre Hispano, but they all just ignored it (because that wasn’t supposed to be the finish.)

Shockercito faked a foul to win the minis match.

indy (TUE) 04/21 Arena Coliseo Monterrey [RFC]
2) Xtreme Dragon b Kaientai, Sick Boy
3) Memo Valles & Sangre Chicana Jr. b Corazon Adictor & Maldad Adicta
4) Sergio Romo Jr. & Silver Star b Difunto I & Mongol Chino Jr.
5) Rey Sagitario b Androide [hair]

Intersting story of the day: While reposting Angel’s AAA exit interview with Box Y Lucha, they mention Pimpinela & Zorro are rumored to be leaving. Pimpi probably will be scrambling for dates on the indies with most of the people who’ve left, but Zorro might be (and should be) of use to CMLL. Zorro’s wrestled in CMLL in 1999, after the dead of Promo Azteca, and would be fun to see mixed in with top of CMLL (which still seems stale despite Dos’ turn.)

Anyway, Angel says he’s leaving AAA on good terms and will not be prevented from using his name (though he might change his look.) He’s hoping to get to CMLL.

Other Angels who appear to be jumping: Dark Angel wrestled a dark match at last night’s TNA taping, losing to Awesome Kong. It sounds like a tryout match, which they’ll ignore if they get on TV. TNA puts it’s dark/b-show matches on it’s website, so perhaps this’ll turn up. SuperLuchas is all over the photos from the show, of course.

Silver King answers back to el Fantasma (though the article strangely says Hijo de Fantasma), complaining that he’s banned when Rey Misterio can wrestle with his mask on despite losing it, as well as unnamed wrestlers in Arena Mexico. Who’s he takling about here? I’m going to be banging my head off my desk when someone reminds me, but all I can come up with is Hooligan (who remasked in about 4 years and 8 months, but is okay now.)

Anyway, Silver King says at one point that he doesn’t need a mask, but then complains that they let him wear a mask in Japan with no problem and Mexico’s being unfair. He also drops Fantasma’s real name, which is not the way to win friends and influence people. Silver King says the mask is “pure marketing”, and banning him from wearing it is like banning people from long hair or makeup.

Super Fly claims to AAA’s website that Laredo turned on him first, and it’ll be up to the fans if he becomes a rudo.

Ovaciones has a big profile of Bengala, who claims he’s related to no current wrestlers and says he’s making his debut on Sunday.

Desde Ringside interviews Martha Villalobos and Martha Villalobos during a local show.

Paraiso de la lucha libre has photos from the show to honor Dinamico I. So does mortis666 @ box y lucha.

DJ Spectro also reposted the Valiente’s lost 20 KG (44 lb) and hopes to lose 5 more article.

DTU is in Monterrey for their show Sunday.

Cesar rates Mistico, Sagrado (who’s been in CMLL six years and has had zero noable feuds – that is CMLL) and La Sombra.

Dos Caras Jr. has altered his look to resemble Toluca’s Diablo Rojas.

SuperLuchas is selling Arkangel masks.

Ohtani’s Jacket watches Terrible Cerebros vs the Navarros from 04/16/09 (which was apparently the title match), while Segunda Caida watched the 04/02 IWRG show.

The Milwaukee Decider talks to the promoters of Saturday’s Monto Lucha show.

05/10: Guadalajara

Well, this week’s gone bad. Again, had everything ready to go, was ready to post, waiting around to see if Coliseo results turn up, and this time I just totally lost track of where I put the news update. By memory and quick…

No Coliseo results.

CMLL (SUN) 05/06 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [KrisZ]
1) Golden b Valentin Mayo
2) Azazel & Idolo b Guero Loco & Rey Trueno
3) Astro Boy, Brillante, Metal Blanco b Artillero, Mr. Trueno, Súper Comando
4) Blue Panther, Gallo, Lizmark Jr. b Hirooki Goto, Ohara, Shigeo Okumura
5) Último Guerrero b Dos Caras Jr.

FWIW, Dos was on preliminary lineups for the upcoming LA Coliseum MMA card (under his real name – or a variation of it) but isn’t on the final one they’ve released.

Ovaciones says Mistico could be back by 05/25 – that’d be if he didn’t have surgery and everything was best case, I believe. Please note the emphasis on COULD.

AAA’s posted a news update, highlighting hitting 15 years on Tuesday.

The “Billy Boy joins a Charly Manson faction” story is indeed in the Observer, but there’s been no motion in this direction yet on TV. I would guess Charly would start the new faction upon returning from his burned face, Billy’s quite obviously can’t be a guy in a Barrio Boy suit anymore, but no idea of rudo/tecnico or how it’d work with the Hell Brothers or anything. This is probably still in the planning stages, and so may never happen. Still waiting for the Juvi split that we were told about 4 months ago (it could easily go down in the next couple weeks, but it hasn’t been hinted on TV.)

In an interview in Super Lucha, Zorro says he’s AAA, not a Hellbrother. Everything’s subject to change.

IWRG’s site is down. CMLL hasn’t put up tickets on Ticketmaster. We still do not have Arena Coliseo Tag Team champions!

04/27 AAA TV Taping Results

previous: 04/01, 04/15, 04/20

AAA TV (FRI) 04/27 Polideportivo de la Universidad Autonoma del Edo, Hidalgo
1) Espantapájaros I, Ghefar, Pesadilla, Toxico b Aero Star, Némesis AAA, Paranoia, Path Finder
2) Jerrito Estrada & Mini Histeria b Mini Crazy Boy & Mini Joe Lider
3) Laredo Kid & Super Fly b Antifaz & Histeria and Alan Stone & Zumbido and Gran Apache & Super Calo
4) Fuerza Guerrera, Juventud Guerrera, Pirata Morgan, Super Porky DRAW Alebrije, Mr. Niebla, Octagón, Scorpio Jr. [relevos incredible]
5) Cuervo, Escoria, Ozz b Crazy Boy, Joe Lider, Psicosis II
6) Cibernetico b Zorro, El Elegido, Chessman, Mesias, Abismo Negro [cage]

Air Date
Mex: 05/05
US: 05/26

Zorro took Parka’s spot (and Porky took Zorro’s spot down on the card), and he was fighting the HB to start – though kinda by default, since Mesias and Cibernetico are feuding and Abismo Negro and Elegido are feuding, so Chessman and Zorro had to either fight or sip tea for a while.

Elegido was the first one out. Zorro followed. Chessman was the third to leave the cage, but he didn’t exactly escape it – he tried and missed a top rope dive again, probably due to some interference. They carted him out. This left Cibernetico with Abismo Negro & Mesias, and it was not going for Cibernetico. And then everyone ran in. I mean, everyone – Konnan, Vipers, Sect, Parka, Octagon, Alebrije, Mexican Powers. The recap calls it “a tremendous mess.” Somewhere in here, Zorro threw his cane in the cage to Cibernetico, who used it to win the match.

After the match, Cibernetico asked another favor of Zorro – to help them unite the Hell Brothers and the AAA. Zorro responded by taking off his mask, which is apparently a yes.

The mixed teams in the fourth match refused to get along, so the referee ended up throwing the match out.

Gran Apache & Super Calo were added to the triangle tag match, but it didn’t matter. Laredo Kid & Super Fly beat Histeria & Antifaz, then they beat Alan Stone & Zumbido and then they beat Gran Apache & Super Calo, and then they had no one left to beat.

Upcoming Tapings
05/06 Oaxaca
– 05/12 Apizaco, Tlaxcala
– 05/20 Morelia
