TV Show Index additions

I dunno if anyone necessarily uses these pages, but I’ve had TV indexes up for the major shows in Mexico, going back to 2003. This is all built onto the event listings, so I can’t add a TV show unless I have info about the event and what date the event aired (a problem with AAA; CMLL is more predictable).

Anyway, I’ve added some new features to these pages.
– TV index pages now include a link to any recap of the show I’ve found. They’re listed on the right side when avialable,a dn should take you as close to the show recap as I can get (you may still have to do a little searching.) I said I’d do this long ago, and it’s cool to have it finally done. If you know of another place I should be looking for recaps, let me know.
– If you rather look at the recaps by author, I’ve got that too. Probably needs to look a little nicer, but it’s functional. Each page includes a link to the recap, and the show main event so you know what’s what.
– Converting from GalaUS to GalaMex isn’t the easiest thing. So, I’ve added a a conversion list, matching up US air dates to Mexico air dates. I haven’t actually figured out how this is going to work on the old split shows.

I don’t have any links to my stuff in there yet, but that’s because I know where I can find it. Finding, say, random DVDVR reviews, is a bit harder.

Things to do
– programming an easy way to edit episodes (I’ve only needed to add and delete) so I can get rid of some mistakes
– adding more shows to the Galavision listings (it’s only about 70% up)
– adding AULL (based off Chui’s Lucha Crunchers)
– figuring out how/if to include Chui’s Lucha Crunchers
– adding in Victor’s old stuff that’s still on the Observer and I’ve got linked elsewhere
– tracking down those DVDVR reviews
– figuring out IWRG
– adding earlier results to add earlier shows, even if it’s just ripping them out of TV recaps (circular)

I have no idea when I’ll do any of this.

Suggestions? Ideas? Questions about the use of my time?

GdR #58

12/30/06

Another just okay segunda match, a long-ish main event – long enough that I should’ve gone back and see if I actually timed it correct – but nothing special here. I predict this will get a 0 for 2 on the F4 show.

Appearances in the last six weeks…
1: Mistico
3: Leono and La Mascara
4: Loco Max and Arkangel
5: Fabian el Gitano
7: Sangre Azteca

I know CMLL’s roster isn’t this small, but it sure seems that way of late. It would improve things dramatically if, instead of showing a segunda with the same guys yet again, they’d mix it up and grab the opening match or the tercera.

speaking of TV: I watched the last half of AAA’s main event today (from the pre-GdT show), and reached two conclusions
– the matches still aren’t good (though seeing Cibernetico Hulk Up, complete with three punches, was entertaining in it’s own way)
– oh my gosh, Cibernetico’s super over. Especially with the girls. Like if there was no one booing Cena.

I mean, it may not be something I want to pay for, but it’s something a lot of people will be paying to see – if they can ride this wave in 2007, they’re going to be doing enormous business. The one missing piece is new opposition if Ricky is gone (or even if he isn’t, at some point it’ll be run into the ground). Shocker would’ve been perfect for this spot if he had stuck around, and Scorpio can’t quite replace him there. Konnan was pushed in a position where he’d normally be next, but obviously that’s not happening, and none of the Sect or TNA guys have built a individual presence that’d make it work. La Parka Jr. ain’t turning rudo. Pirata? Abismo? I dunno.

(FWIW, I think the idea of Bucanero jumping doesn’t work anymore. The spot is gone. Wagner or Silver King might be fun, but I don’t think either of them could stomach working rudo stooge to Cibernetico’s tecnico hero.)

If the Toluca crowd is any fair representation, though, Cibernetico’s so over, it may not matter who he’s facing.

12/22-24 Lucha Times

Chui reviews last week’s TV.

AAA on Gala: Cibernetico returns! and causes Chessman to lose the Atomicos titles, so how good was that, if you think about it.

GdR: Sangre! Mascara! It may go a whole 10 minutes!

FSE: And the big Lady Apache/La Nazi title match here. (Also, they’re rerunning last week’s episode late Saturday night.)
