AAA 12/16

The 11/18 taping. I had this done about a week ago and didn’t get around to posting it. I liked parts of the opener and Konnan noting he never loses, but not really much of the rest.

I’m not really up at 3:00 AM (I hope), but I’m really loving the Scheduled Posting feature here and talking about it here sure eats up space well.

from 01/20. 14 minutes of wrestling! That would’ve been one okay match.

On Figure4 Monday, Bryan stated that the back to back DCOs to start the second match was the first time that’s ever happened in the history of CMLL. I refuse to believe that’s actually true, but haven’t actually found proof to refute it yet. Of the top of my head, I recalled a Capos/Vampiro/Pierroth/Perro match from ’04 which had back to back double DQs and it feels like we hear about that sort of thing happening once ever 15 months or so (which means it actually happens much more often), but I’m still looking for something to state it’s not just a faulty memory. Anyone else got a good example?

AAA 08/13, 09/16, 11/18, 12/23

Some of these have been on the site for more than two months but not mentioned on the blog. Might as well make up for it down.

08/13 (taped 07/07)
– the episode where Gala caught back up
– Sect vs Air Force for the Atomicos
– Set up for Zumbido/Octagon next taping
– Extreme Tiger being Extreme Tiger
But I could’ve used a better match. The Atomicos match wasn’t my style, but it was the Air Force cramming in as many high flying moves as possible (and none of them meant anything). The Mexican Powers match was really the antithesis of what I want in a wrestling match.

09/16, taped 08/15
– Shocker interfers in a match, does what he set out to do, and his side still loses
– seeding cibernetico for the Dream Tournament, with a weird start that detracts from the match
– typical Dark Family/Mexican Powers hardcore match
– everyone goes home happy Guapos vs Tecnicos main event.
Nothing here to see.

11/18, taped 10/14
– yet another Dark Family/Mexican Powers hardcore match
– Bull Terrier match between Guapos and Porkys.
– Vipers beatdown Laredo Kid
– Foreign vs Tecnicos main event.
The Laredo Kid beatdown was kinda fun, but I didn’t get much out of the rest of this.

12/23, taped 11/18
– two AAA Tag Tournament matches, neither much good
– Mexican Powers FINALLY win the Atomicos titles
– set up for the hair match
– Cibernetico’s return
There was at least stuff going on this show.

12/17. I love getting these done on the weekend of (even if it’s the Monday after the weekend)

Crowd turned on the tecnicos during the first match, mostly because Fabian completely screwed up the end of the first fall and no one (me either) would let him forget it. Secnod match was really short, but there to build La Mascara/Sangre Azteca match and it achieved that, and was a little fun too. Crowd was into it more than I’d think, given it being a lesser lineup than you’d expect for a semimain.

I was thinking about it, and I don’t want to tell Ultimo Guerrero how to run his army of evildoers, but if this was baseball, I sorta would, and I’d be hoping to see this line on the transaction pages

GUERREROS, ATLANTIDA
– option (MW) Eclipse to Guerrero Pandilla of the AAA Segunda League, purchase the contract of (WW) Sangre Azteca from Guerrero Pandilla.

I’ll post the match tomorrow.
