Tanahashi beats Rush (via foul), Rey Cometa’s second, Taichi in Mexico

CMLL (MON) 09/03/2012 Arena Puebla [Porra Fresa]
1) Asturiano, Blue Center, Dinámikoo b Fuerza Chicana, Policeman, Siki Ozama Jr.
2) Molotov, Sensei, Stigma b Artillero, Hooligan, Súper Comando
Tecnicos took 1/3
3) Amapola, La Comandante, Zeuxis b Dalis la Caribeña, Luna Mágica, Marcela
Rudas took 2/3.
4) Pólvora b Stuka Jr. [lightning]
Polvora survived Stuka’s torpedo plancha and went on to win.
5) Atlantis, Diamante Azul, Titán b Rey Bucanero, Terrible, Tiger
TRT jumped the tecnicos, tied Atlantis and Titan in the ropes, and beat on Diamante Azul until they were DQed. Rudos settled down and won the second, but Diamante Azul surprised Terrible with a german suplex to win the third. Azul challenged Terrible to a title match, and Terrible accepted.
6) Hiroshi Tanahashi b Rush
Rush entered first, but fought Tanahashi on the ramp and beat him early with an armbar. Tanahashi fought back and won the second fall with his frog splash. Rush got a lot of near falls in the third (with the fans getting on referee Terror Chino for counting too slow), but Tanahashi snuck in a foul to get the win.

Terrible beat Tanahashi and Tanahashi beat Rush, so poor Rush is doomed come next Friday. There’s no way at all he could possibly win.

CMLL (TUE) 09/04/2012 Arena Queretaro [Haciendo La Lucha]
4) Diamante Azul, Fuego Latino, Hijo del Fantasma b Perro Del Ring, Rebelde Punk, Rey Bucanero
Fuego Latino replaced an injuried Ursus.
5) Atlantis, La Máscara, Máximo DQ Drabek I, Drabek II, Principe
Tecnicos took 2/3, rudos fouled Atlantis for the DQ.

Rey Cometa told folks in Queretaro that he’d like Espiritu Negro, his brother, to be his second for the Anniversary show. That’s going to ruin some fantasy booking plans.

Taichi arrived in Mexico yesterday. In an interview with Kaiser Sports, Taichi said he’s targeting Maximo (revenge for the hair loss), Angel de Oro (for beating him in the Super Juniors match) and would like a middleweight or light heavyweight championship match. Taichi says he’s changed over the last two years, he’s different from everyone else, and CMLL will be happy because he’s going to sell out every building he’s in.

Another article, for NJPW’s site, revealed Taichi does not want to work with his Japanese partners. Taichi is part of the (Minoru) Suzuki Army in his home promotion, enemies of Tanahashi, and doesn’t really want to team up with Tanahashi in Mexico. This is probably a story just to keep the Japan feud going despite the team up, and also a possible hint on Friday’s outcome.

AAA (Konnan) held a training seminar and tryout in Winnipeg a couple weeks ago. The selling point of the seminar was the best trainee getting to come to Mexico for AAA. AJ Sanchez, who won the spot, talked about the tryout and his career to Slam. He’ll be in Mexico from November 15-30, which should be just before Guerra de Titanes. The article mentions he’ll work two shows, though the article does not mention if they’ll be TV tapings (or who’s paying for that flight.) One of the other people who tried out and didn’t win was Mentallo, who wrestled in CMLL in 2008 and briefly was part of Lucha Libre USA.

Rob has Dinamic Black taking an ill advised flat back bump.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update.

CMLL (MON) 04/18/2011 Arena Puebla [Porra Fresa]
1) Lestat & Stigma b Centauro de Fuego & Siki Ozama Jr.
Lestat had a great dive on Centauro de Fuego to eliminated him in the final fall. Tecs took falls 1 and 3.
2) Bam Bam, Fantasy, Último Dragoncito b Pequeño Nitro, Pequeño Olímpico, Pierrothito
Tecs took falls 2 and 3, Dragoncito beating Pierrothito in the third, despite Tirantes refereeing.
3) Fuego b Ángel de Plata [Forjando un Idolo]
Fuego [3] submitted Angel de Plata [0] for his first win.
4) Magnus b Pólvora [Forjando un Idolo]
Mangus [3] looked better than last time here and the crowd was behind him. He dominated the match, but got distracted by Tirantes slow count and was rolled up by Polvora [6] for the pin.
5) Rush, Sagrado, Valiente b Shigeo Okumura, Virus, Yoshihashi
Tecnicos took 1 and 3, Sagrado beating Virus after Rush and Valiente dives.
6) Blue Panther, Máximo, Strong Man b Héctor Garza, Hirooki Goto, Último Guerrero
Maximo had an absurdly huge cape. Tecnicos took the first, and Goto and Guerrero had problems leading to the second fall loss (straight falls for the tecnicos.) Goto and UG fought after the match, with UG demanding a singles match.

CMLL (TUE) 04/19/2011 Arena Mexico [Record, CMLL]
1) Bronco & Inquisidor b Leono & Molotov
2) Sensei, Fuego, Metatrón DQ Dr. X, Loco Max, Nitro
Dr. X unmasked Fuego for the DQ.
3) Diamante b Hijo del Signo [Forjando un Idolo]
Diamante [6] pretty much clinches advancement. Signo is stuck on 3.
4) Hombre Bala Jr. b Puma King [Forjando un Idolo]
Puma [0] loses again, Hombre Bala picks up his first 3 points.
5) Rey Bucanero, Terrible, Texano b Delta, Metal Blanco, Valiente
Rey Bucanero wore a Doble T shirt and the rudos had a bulldog with them for no apparent reason. Ideas! Dog = win.
6) Felino, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas b Blue Panther, Rush, Super Porky
Rudos took the first, tecnicos the second and the third.

Espiritu, who’s bald most of the time, grew enough hair to lose in an Nuevo Laredo cage match. Hombre sin Miedo was the winner.

Weather report for Pachuca: Partly sunny with a show or thunderstorm the afternoon. (Also, about 50 degrees warming then here.) AAA should get the taping in this time!

Shocker says he’ll be back in action at the end of May. He’s been out since December after tearing his pattelar tendon.

Taguchi defends his CMLL World Welterweight Championship versus Taichi on 04/29 at Hiroshima Green Arena. Also, Hirooki Goto rejoins NJPW on 05/03, so if CMLL is really doing the Ultimo Guerrero vs Goto singles match they’re teasing, it’s gotta be next Friday.

CMLL (MON) 01/18 Arena Puebla [R de Rudo]
1) Mr. Rafaga & Policeman b Asturiano & SWAT
2) Bam Bam, Fantasy, Último Dragoncito b Pequeño Damian 666, Pequeño Universo 2000, Pequeño Violencia

4) Hijo del Fantasma, La Máscara, Valiente b Dragon Rojo Jr., Sangre Azteca, Vangelis
5) Felino, Mr. Niebla, Último Guerrero b La Sombra, Shocker, Volador Jr.

Felino & Niebla fouled Somnbra & Volador and got away with it for the win. Tecnicos demanded a super libre match. Seems like a tag team title match coming up here.

Vangelis replaced Misterioso II in the semimain, where Mascara got Sangre with the campana. Ultimo Dragoncito replaced Tzuki in the minis match.

Ovaciones and ESTO both preview tonight’s CMLL card. There’s no particular story going into this one, though maybe it should be Garza continuing his win streak heading into Friday.

Fuego en el Ring talks to Valiente, who’s now the only Valiente. Hijo de Valiente and Valiente Jr. (“children of a friend”) had talked about using the name, but never actually got permission. After CMLL pointed it out, Valiente asked them to stop. They also have interviews with Rambo, La Comadante (who figures she got a promotion in Pierroth’s army, causing the name change) and Okumura. Okumura says he and Naito have been brainstorming ideas for Taichi. Judging from Naito on this weekends 52MX show, Taichi should definitely be concerned. NJPW officially announced Taichi, was headed to CMLL for an excursion. No word on exactly how long he’s meant to be in CMLL for, but it should be a while.

Record, LuchandoLibre, ESTO and R de Rudos have reports on the Perros show.

There’s lots of photos of this weekend’s Tijuana show over on flickr.

A new lucha libre commissioner was sworn in, in Juarez.

Blue Demon Jr. will be appearing on ROH’s Charlotte show. Kind of a surprise, because he was not that popular last time ROH used him, but they wanted a lucha name to help draw latinos.

Box Y Lucha #2957 hypes more Konnan vs Cibernetico. Or maybe they’re it’s just meant as a warning.

Cronicas y Leyendas writes about Rey Misterio & Juvi in Japan, Cien Caras vs Salomon Grundy (slightly different matches), plus Pirata Morgan taking Masakre’s hair, and Solitario taking Atila’s mask.

Segunda Caida writes about IWRG 11/26/09 and KrisZ’s news update
