Mistico appeared on the show, like he plans for all the shows he will miss (lot of resting he’s going to get in that way), explaining his injury. Dr. Wagner replaced him, which Ovaciones says was “reason why the fight was much better.” I guess Mistico needs to wave at the crowd more while he’s supposed to be selling. When the referee cut off Wagner from attacking Atlantis (when he was down and not moving), Wagner hit the ref and that’s your DQ.

At last report (superluchas), Atlantis was listed as stable in hospital, but they’re still doing brain work.

Both singles matches were said to be good and had money thrown in.

Rafaga is a random local guy. In the third fall, the referee turned rudo to help Super Brazo, until Super Brazo accidentally punched him. Brazo rolled up Rafaga, but it was a DQ. If you’re going to lose your hair three times a year, can’t you at least lose your hair clean? Credibility saving finishes only work if you have crediblity to begin with.

Last Wednesday (before the last show), Dr. Wagner Jr. visited the Zacatecano Sports Hall of Fame, where his father was enshrined earlier this year. He had been unable to been part of Dr. Wagner Sr.’s inauguration.

Perro Aguayo Jr. is interviewed about his return in La Jornada. Notable quote (translated): “It is our obligation to offer an event to the fans that is of quality – real, not a farce.”

Super Luchas #224 has the return of Perro and the injury of Mistico.

Kato Kung Lee @ El Martinete provides luchadors singing and dancing. He is a great man for posting this. I don’t have sound working on this computer, but the video looks like everything I could hope for.

Ovaciones says Leono beat Mogur in a 15 minute match to win his hair.

The Observer had an update about Mistico. Apparently, Rey Misterio Jr. found out WWE wasn’t going after them, and tried to convince them to change their minds. WWE is thinking about it again, but it’s “less than 50%”. WWE believes they can break Mistico out of his contract if they wanted to and took some time, but they figure they’d have to spend even more time having him learn the US style (and changing everything about him that made him a success in the first place) and they don’t seem to be interested in something that would take a while.

Luchas 2000 has the truth about Mistico, which is probably outdated by now.

Box Y Lucha posted a bunch of articles on Wednesday, and I keep forgetting to write about them.
– Brazo de Plata is angry about others advertising themselves as “Porky”, or “Porkys, specifically his brothers. He feels they’re leeching off his success, and the only people who should be using his name or nicknames is himself and his son. He doesn’t believe they should even call themselves the Brazos, because the Brazos were only Brazo de Oro, Brazo de Plata and el Brazo – all the others might be brothers, but they’re all imposers. He’s okay with then calling being Nuevo Brazos, but he doesn’t want the public deceived.
– Brazo de Oro clears up the family tree, except I still don’t know who/if Brazo Jr. is related too. His story of the names seems slightly different than what I’ve read before; Shadito Cruz was nicknamed “Man with the Golden Arm” for a while and Oro started out using that “Hombre de Brazo de Oro” name. Mil Mascaras complained to him that his look was too similar, so they redesigned his outfit and his name to Brazo de Oro. Porky asked his father if he could use Brazo de Plata, and his father as Oro, who said okay; same with El Brazo. When Brazo de Oro was out due to kidney surgery, Super Brazo took his place in the trio, and so on from there. I think Brazo de Oro’s point is they all got their name, directly or indirectly, from Shadito Cruz’s nickname, so they all have the right to call themselves Brazos.
– Misterioso II tells his story of the fan incident. Pretty much what he said before, though he adds a few details: despite contrary reports, the fan was not a kid (he was old enough to get in a bar later that night), he missed those Coliseo shows as punishment for his actions in addition to a fine, and the fan never protested to the commission but he’s still apologizing for everything. Rambo writes about his own experiences with fans throwing stuff at wrestlers.
– a list of past February deaths, including Huroki Sito (unclue of Panico and Black Cat), Acorazado Moreno (father of the AAA Morenos), El Cobarde I, and El Santo.

Ovaciones has a profile of Marco Corelone. Corelone claims that if Shocker is 1000% Guapo, that means Marco is 1000000% Guapo. The exchange rate is brutal. Esto has an article on Rey Bucanero. Rey would like to fight for Ultimo Guerrero’s mask, but figures he’d have to put up more than his hair to get a shot at – probably his whole career. Elsewhere in that paper, Rey hopes for a title/title match with Atlantis, and pushes the Corelone/Shocker feud.

CMLL is pushing the semimain as a dream team of young stars versus the Perros. Semimain should be something between Ultimo Dragon and Sangre Azteca again.
