como estaz 5×2: we didn’t make it to Nuevo Laredo

Promoter/excellent uber driver/person with no need to sleep @thefredork of LuchaMania Monterrey joins us to talk about how a RIOT show comes together, and then just kind of meandered into a conversation all over the place. We definitely didn’t have any real plan going into this one and I think that comes thru strongly. Also, I moved the microphone around twice, which should sound great. Not as many people were buried as during the TJ podcast but we still entertained ourselves and isn’t that’s all that really matters. (Sorry in advance.)

como estaz 5×1: Low Rider does not know llaves

Sometime early Sunday morning night, Rob turned to me and said “that’s the title to the podcast.” A day later, I have no idea what he told me. That’s a recap of this podcast, where Rob remembers many moves from Riot (which was good!) and The Crash/Revolucha Monterrey show (which was also good) and I say “that was also good.” We go over both shows we’ve seen before and talk about random stuff by the end of the podcast. It’s again about 1h40m.

como estaz 4×16: ultima lucha

Rob and I did another one of these, right after LU ended, because I thought I would have a lot energy to get out about the show. I did, but it was for more positive than I was guessing. We spent about 80 minutes talking about the finale and where it leaves Lucha Underground, and about 20 minutes talking about everything else.

The audio’s actually decently balanced this time! I need to either make my mic less sensitive or stop messing with things which make clicking noises during the show. Don’t worry, the audio will surely be worse next time we do this, in a few weeks.

como estaz 4×13: car vandalism edition

There’s only one rule on this podcast: whenever two main eventers and one Bobby Villa get fired, we’ll get around to doing a podcast again. (There are actually many rules.) Rob and I go over the saga of Ultimo Guerrero’s blue mustang for an hour, recapping what we know and what we think it might mean. (Something finally broke well for AAA? Kinda?) The back half of the show includes a discussion of our level of Lucha Underground excitement (spoiler: mild), the billion angles going on in AAA at once, and the disappointing lack of progress in indie footage availability.

I accidentally dropped a Lucha Underground spoiler in that discussion; I edited it out, but you do get to hear me talking about having to edit it out. It’s safe but you can yell at me later.

como estaz 4×12: marzo

Rob & talk about the upcoming CMLL & AAA big shows, other upcoming events in lucha and good matches we’ve seen lately. Well, he’s seen lately, I’m busy watching Puebla. The podcast goes about 110 minutes. Rob’s connection has some problems in the first part of the podcast and drops out a couple times. It’s better later, though I didn’t do a great job of mixing it. It’s still OK.

como estaz 4×11: Terry’s friend Gersom

(this is not Gersom)

Rob & TKD are back in Mexico, and they bring along Black Terry Jr. and Gersom of Sensacional de Luchadors to talk about the shows they’ve seen the first couple days of the trip. I ask questions along the way. There’s discussing of the Friday night Lucha Libre Boom show, Juventued Guerrera’s Super X show (with a strange referee), and Saturday night in Arena Coliseo. Plus, we talk with Gersom about how got into filming lucha libre and discuss how we think the current rise in paid lucha libre content is going to work out. The podcast runs just about two hours.
