1) Fulgor I b Seiya
2) Imposible & Picudo Jr. b Ángel Del Amor & Mr. Magia (2013)
Mr. Magia is said to be making his debut, so not the one from last year.
3) Centvrión, Dinamic Black, Golden Magic b Oficial 911, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro [super libre]
Centvrion hurt his knee in the second fall to a hospital. 911 pulled Dinamic’s mask again, but Dinamic rolled him up anyway for the win. Dinamic wants a shot at 911’s Rey del Ring.
4) Decnnis, Hijo de Máscara Año 2000, Scorpio Jr. b Chico Che, Pantera, Veneno
Guapito fouled Veneno and Scorpio pinned him for the win.
5) Hijo de Pirata Morgan, Pirata Morgan, Pirata Morgan Jr. b Eterno, Súper Nova, X-Fly [IWRG IC TRIOS]
Piratas took 1/3, when Super Nova twice hit Eterno with dives by mistake. Pirata submitted X-Fly for the win. Piratas’s second defense.

Last Thursday’s show was taped for AYM/LAS. This week’s Thursday show was not taped at all.

AAA quietly has a taping today in Leon. It’s been understandable lost in the TripleMania build up, because it’s a show apparently being taped before AAA’s biggest show of the year to air after. Not much can happen, though a lot of the major people from the TripleMania show will be on this one. Perro & Cibernetico are the exceptions, but all three guys in the heavyweight championship picture and many of those battling for the tag team championship are on this show. The scheduled main event is Chessman, Texano, and Villano IV vs Canek, Mesias and La Parka, which is a much odder set off teams than when this show was first announced. Canek is a rudo on TripleMania teaming with V4 but facing him here. Mesias also may be a rudo by the end of TripleMania. Chessman and Texano are definitely not friends too, but how much AAA of that wants to play out is questionable.

Electroshock & Heavy Metal take on Mascara Ano 2000 Jr. & Silver King in the semimain, with another Secta vs Perros del Mal encounter in the fourth match. Steve Pain makes his AAA TV debut teaming with Carta Brava & Eterno against Angelico, Drago and Jack Evans, and the second match continues the Atomic Boy vs Apache feud in a mixed trios. There’s an opener, but the participants have not been listed (and I’d guess it’s local guys given they’re announcing Eterno in a match.)

The 2nd & the 3rd matches seem like the sort of matches which would air on Fusion, which would make this only a single week of TV for AAA Sin Limite. The problem with that is AAA hasn’t announced any tapings post TripleMania, and would need to be taping next weekend if Leon is going to last only one week. (Maybe TripleMania will air on TV after all?)

Cibernetico, Perro Aguayo Jr., Flamita, Pentagon Jr., Jennifer Blake and others are in Tijuana tonight, part of a The Crash show. Cibernetico and Perro Aguayo have a singles match two days before their hair match, and others are involved in a cruiserweight title tournament.

CMLL’s Arena Mexico show’s main event pushes the perennial Ultimo Guerrero vs Atlantis and La Sombra vs Volador Jr. feuds, with the odd ball combination of Titan and Pierroth rounding out the trios. Many of the guys who’ve made recent hair match challenges are bunched together in the semifiinal, so that should end with even more challenges. Dragon Rojo vs Rey Cometa is the lightning match, back for one week with no En Busca de un Idolo singles matches. That tournament continues with a Negro Casas, Stuka, Valiente vs Virus, Vangelis, Fuego. (I may not be able to record that; this would be a good week to message me when the live stream turns up.) NJPW’s Bushi debuts here in a good looking tercera, but everything is probably going shorter than usual with six trios and one singles match tonight.

R de Rudo, Estrellas del Ring and MedioTiempo have stories about AAA’s annual pilgrimage parade. A lot the same as every year, though it looks like they got COMEX to sponsor it this year. As usual, there’s mystery people in big group picture – who’s the guy in the Tinieblas style mask?

Frequent retiree Vampiro says he’s back full time and signed a five year deal. Riiiiiiiight. I’ve been concerned on Chessman’s behalf for a while about how AAA keeps calling him Vampire Killer and even though I doubt any five year deal in lucha libre, this fits with that concern. I’d recommend Chessman not climb up any tall objects or set up any tables on Sunday.

La Lucha se la Hace, the SLP based lucha show I’ve been posting for the last few months, will now start airing on Mexicanal Sundays at 5pm central. The quality of the webstream has been pretty poor, so this might be much improved if it airs as scheduled. (Which reminds me, the GALLI show never aired on either of the two announced times.)

Rompe Huesos looks back at other TripleMania hair match.

Kcidis has a drawing of Fuerza and Juventud Guerrera for Father’s Day. Fuerza is smiling, which seems totally unlike him unless Octagon is slumped on the ground nearby.

A press release on TripleMania’s iPPV notes 26% of their website traffic comes from other countries.

Sadica wants a title match with LLF champ Angelica.

AAA LyC (SUN) 10/21/2012 Arena Coliseo Monterrey
***Arena Coliseo 57th Anniversary***
1) Chamaco Gurrola, Darkgenis, Mini Hator b Crazy 93, Extreme Boy, Mini Neurosis
2) Jennifer Blake b Lady Puma, La Hiedra
3) Antifaz del Norte b Máscara Púrpura, Rico Rodriguez, El Tackle, Lumino, Gabanelli, Genocida, Perseus, Bengali, Angel Dorado Jr., Rey Imagen, Caballo Dorado, Potro, Rey Orion [Copa 57 Anniversary]
Antifaz defeated Mascara Purpura to win the cup (though no trophy was actually seen)
4) Difunto I, Monje Negro Jr., Pirata Morgan b Gemelo Muerte I, Gemelo Muerte II, Super Parka
Pirata was with LUM’s Hombre de Negro & La Monjita, and won with an unseen foul on Super Parka.
5) Hijo del Ninja, Humberto Garza, Zumbi DQ Cuervo, Espíritu, Ozz
Zumbi replaced Hector Garza, who appeared earlier in the show with the rest of his family (Mascara Purpura, Humberto Jr. and Hijo del Ninja.) Humberto thanked the fans on Hector’s behalf, saying Hector couldn’t talk. Perro interrupted to challenge Hector to get better so he could beat him for his hair in his home town of Monterrey. Humberto and Ninja angrily challenged Perro. Perro didn’t seem interest, so Hector took the microphone and talked to make the challenge on behalf of his family (Pupura included.) Perro promised to cause the Garza’s problems later. The men in the crowd have turned on Hijo de Ninja. Garzas were about to win when Perros ran in for the DQ.
6) Jack Evans & La Parka b el Hijo del Perro Aguayo & Nicho el Millionario
Nicho replaced Teddy, said to be out with an injury but wrestled in Canada the night before. Crowd was divided. Jack took out Nicho with his dive, Parka knocked down the ref by mistake, Perro fouled him and covered, Humberto Garza ran in to foul Perro and put Parka on top for the win. Challenges followed.

LyC is hyping a big show in December. Humberto vs Perro in a hair match would do good business here and the angle at the end points that direction. Ninja vs Perro would be more difficult – Ninja is the centerpiece here but losing strong to Perro maybe proves something to the fans who dislike him? – but there’s never any guarantee anything will happen.

LyC posted Saturday morning that Teddy was injured and would be replaced. Instead, Teddy wrestled and won tag team titles in Real Canada Wrestling that night, a promotion in Edmonton.  That match also included the guy who won the AAA tryout seminar and the guy who debuted on TV as Uro Rocker. Teddy’s gone from being out of AAA to being in well enough that he get friends and associates jobs. There was some warning that Teddy would be gone from AAA if he started misbehaving, but I’d be surprised if that was the case.

They seem to be surprised about Teddy not wrestling either (and really didn’t lose anything by switching from Teddy to Nicho or saying Teddy was hurt rather than just missing the show; they’re probably innocent on this.)

CMLL (SUN) 10/21/2012 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [Cancha, El Occidental, Informador]
1) Sádico b Brillante
Sadico used a top rope ‘rana to win.
2) Mr. Trueno & Rey Trueno b Black Metal & Javier Cruz Jr.
3) Demonio Maya & Maléfico b El Divino & Máscara Mágica
Malefico snuck in a foul on Mascara Magica.
4) Bárbaro Cavernario, In Memoriam, Infierno b Eros, Gallo, Leo
A Rafaga distraction set up the win.
5) Hijo del Fantasma, Máximo, Valiente b Dragón Rojo Jr., Niebla Roja, Sangre Azteca
Tecnicos took 2/3, Fantasma small packaging Rojo, setting up a Fantasma vs Rojo title match.

I think they are setting up a cage match with the locals here. Not totally sure.

1) Black Tiger & Tigre Rojo Jr. b Akron & Policeman
2) Taurus b Super Halcon Jr. [lightning]
Taurus won in just over six minutes.
3) Hombre Bala Jr., Magnus, Stigma b Artillero, Inquisidor, Súper Comando
Tecnicos took 2/3, Magnus defeating Inquisidor with a backcracker.
4) Sagrado, Stuka Jr., Triton b Misterioso Jr., Sangre Azteca, Virus
Tecnicos took 2/3, Sagrado surprising Misterioso with a cradle for the win. Virus & Sangre were annoyed with Misterioso for blowing the match.
5) Marco Corleone, Máximo, Rush DQ Rey Bucanero, Terrible, Último Guerrero
Tecnicos took 1/3, Terrible fouled Rush. Bucanero hurt a knee in the third fall.
6) Dragón Rojo Jr. b Valiente [CMLL MIDDLE]
Dragon Rojo came in as champion. Seconds were Super Comando & Stuka. Dragon Rojo took the first with a cristo invertido, Valiente came back in the second with an armbar, Dragon won fall three and kept the title with the Dragon Bomb.

Today’s Arena Mexico trio main event is Reyes del Atlantida versus Depreadors de Aire, a rematch of the Mexican Trios Title title change back in June. This is the first time Volador, Black Warrior, and Mr. Aguila have teamed up since winning the titles four months ago; that CMLL Gaceta article sort of implies this dispersal act was all a fiendish plan by the rudos so Atlantis, Delta and Guerrero Maya couldn’t beat them and get a rematch. In reality, these national trios titles have a long history of going to a random assembly of three men because the programming idea likes the idea of them being a team, but then quickly losing interest in them as a team. Atlantis squad did well, but the preceding champions were also trios who never teamed except to defend the belts or teams that lost their belts because one of the champions just wasn’t interested in defending the belts. Programming has plans for the these teams up to the time when they win the titles, but rarely past that.

On Sunday’s Arena Azteca Budokan show, Martha Villalobos appeared to announce she’d be retiring on an upcoming show. Rossy Moreno immediately challenged her, so it’ll probably be some trios match involving them.

AAA’s put up a schedule of upcoming Twitter live cam chats

Lineups

Robin replaces Tigre Blanco and Tiffany replaced Lady Apache on Friday. The women’s change means the women’s match isn’t the resumption of the Lady Apache/Dark Angel feud.

CMLL (SUN) 10/28/2012 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Azteca de Oro vs Acertijo
2) Gallo vs Smaker, Leo, Ráfaga, In Memoriam, Esfinge, Bárbaro Cavernario, Infierno, Eros, Espectrum [seeding battle royal]
3) 1, 2, 3 vs 4, 5, 6
4) 7 & 8 vs 10 & 9
5) Guerrero Maya Jr. & Rey Cometa vs Puma King & Tiger
6) Dragón Rojo Jr. vs Hijo del Fantasma [NWA MIDDLE]

Nice of Dragon Rojo to evenly distribute the title defenses. He could just defend both them at the same time, but let’s not go crazy. Semimian looks very fun. Undercard is right out of every other Arena Aficion card.

CMLL (SUN) 10/28/2012 Arena Coliseo
1) Freesbe & Oro Jr. vs Camorra & Cholo
2) Höruz, Leono, Stigma vs Ramstein, Súper Comando, Zayco
3) Molotov vs Cancerbero [lightning]
4) Ángel Azteca Jr., Fuego, Sagrado vs Sangre Azteca, Shigeo Okumura, Virus
5) Ángel de Oro, Blue Panther, Máscara Dorada vs Averno, Ephesto, Pólvora
6) Diamante Azul, La Máscara, Shocker vs Felino, Tama Tonga, Terrible

Scratch that tag title match, but Azul vs Tonga still seems possible. Maybe he can defend the Mexico City Heavyweight Title! (They’ve been doing much more non-title singles matches of late.)

CMLL (MON) 10/29/2012 Arena Puebla
1) Dinámikoo & Tigre Rojo Jr. vs Ares & Centauro de Fuego
2) Höruz vs Cholo [lightning]
3) Asturiano, Metálico, Molotov vs Bobby Zavala, Disturbio, Espiritu Maligno
4) Dalis la Caribeña, Goya Kong, Marcela vs Amapola, Mima Shimoda, Tiffany
5) Namajague, Shigeo Okumura, Tama Tonga vs Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr., Hijo del Fantasma
6) Atlantis, La Máscara, Mistico vs Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto

Fiebre Amarilla! Okumura will be so pleased. Mima seems to be around permanently now.

***Castillo del Terror, 2012***
1) Mini Super Astro & Voladorcito vs Bracito De Plata & Mr. Aguilita
2) Amazona, Fenix, Ludark Shaitan vs Cristal, La Sádica, Pasion Kristal
names do not seem right here.
3) Alan Extreme, Centvrión, Comando Negro, Dinamic Black, Eterno, Golden Magic, Imposible, Saruman vs Dragón Celestial, Electro Boy, La Cobra, Matrix Jr., Relampago, Serpiente de Oro, Sky Ángel, Violencia Jr. [Copa High Power]
FILL 1st Generacion vs FILL 2nd Generacion rematch.
4) Monster Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown vs Cien Caras Jr., Espíritu, Heddi Karaoui
5) Hijo de Máscara Año 2000 vs Trauma I, Spartan, Oficial 911, Factor, Trauma II, Carta Brava Jr., Oficial Fierro, el Ángel, Hijo de Pirata Morgan [cage, mask]

Traumas are definitely not losing, and I’d be very surprised if Hijo de Mascara, Hijo de Parta or even Carta Brava lost their masks here; they could all carry singles matches or bigger name cage matches. Spartan and Angel are the best bets.

IWRG’s Twitter notes Hijo de LA Park and Hijo de Dr. Wagner are trashing each other on Facebook, LA Park trying to talk Wagner into both of them being in this match. Neither really has a chance of losing.

I think the women’s match might just have some extraneous text and it’s just 2 v 2.

Puebla, Mother’s Day, TNA

No full results from Puebla, but the tecnicos won the main event when the rudos unmasked Sombra. Black Tiger and Averno replaced missing Toscano and Dragon Rojo; last Puebla regular to main event a show was Toro Bill on 01/04/10 in a similar replacement situation.

Today’s Arena Mexico show is a Mother’s Day special, with cheap tickets (for row six and beyond, which seems to be the new standard for cheap tickets) and pictures with wrestlers. The Gladiatores has the Morenos with their mom, while Mi Lucha Libre talks to the moms of Laredo Kid, Bestia 666 and Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. (Rossy Moreno.) Laredo Kid’s mom is not a fan of all his risk taking!

Perro Aguayo Jr. looked like normal in Cancun, fouling one of the Clowns to get the win in what appears to be his return match. Perro wrestled with his shirt on the entire way.

Jeff Jarrett talks to himself in a mirror while wearing no shirt. Normal. Jarrett announces he and Scott Steiner are coming to the SLP taping (which Dorian psychically already predicted.)

7) Chica Tormenta & Dark Angel vs Princesa Sujei & Vaquerita

The last big announcement is Dark Angel to set up the DTU/CMLL vs DTU/CMLL main event. No official AAA presence on this show for the first time in quite some time on a DTU show, though Mascara Oriental and Zairus are actually Fenix & Dark Dragon in their indie guises. Maybe they just really wanted to book Dark Angel and Princesa Sujei on a show (a fine idea!) and there’s no way they can do that with AAA wrestlers, but add in Crazy Boy not appearing on AAA TV at all this year and it’s easy to believe something’s up with that relationship.

3) Billy el Malo, Cibernético, EscoriaCuervo, Espíritu, Ozz
Escoria took the mystery spot. Black Family bled and lost on a powerbomb from Cibernetico on Ozz. After the match, Cibernetico pointed out he took out Parka’s troops and promised revenge for what Parka did to his motorcycle. (So that’s what Parka did at Cibernetico’s house.)
4) Monster Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown DQ Damián 666, Halloween, X-Fly
X-Fly replaced Perro, who ran in with Bestia 666 for the DQ. Perro Jr. demanded a meeting with Dorian Roldan, angry about having to wait for an appointment.
5) El Mesías, Heavy Metal, Nicho el MillionarioChessman, Hijo del Lizmark, LA Park
Lizmark replaced Zorro, who claimed to be hurt. Once again, Park was about to beat Mesias when Zorro got involved. This time, it was Masked Zorro who ran in and caned Park. Park blamed Konnan, Konnan swore he had nothing to do with it. Sociedad is breaking apart.

2011 AAA TV Chart
Projected Air Date (#989)
Mexico: 05/15
US: 05/28

Mi Lucha Libre notes there were five bleeders on this show – Metal, Ozz, Cuervo, Espiritu, Damian – and AAA’s twitter said the Psycho Circus bled too. Also, rudos won 2 of the last 3 and are about to take the third when a rudo attacks a rudo. This was a Kid’s Day show. Eh. Mini Chessman & Laredo Kid were also mentioned as injured.

In an interview with Mi Lucha Libre, Zorro says he will be out 4-6 weeks with a leg injury. I have no idea if that’s a storyline or a legit injury, it’s getting hard to tell with Zorro. AAA’s live recap didn’t mention an injury. Zorro’s TNA deal is brought up here again – that I’m pretty sure is off (and has been since Hernandez got a different partner.)

One day after Perro said he’d definitely be wrestling on this show, Perro did not wrestle on this show. It’s almost like you can’t believe what that man says.

Next taping is 05/13 in Cuautitlan

Edit: I guess this is now fair game now that Dorian is tweeting about it, so might as well put it here: AAA is bringing in TNA guys for TripleMania. They’ll start appearing with the SLP taping. AAA’s done this in past years, and the result has been TNA (and outsiders) having decent->good matches and the fans (and especially the announcers) having no idea who these people are. Starting the involvement before TripleMania will definitely help, but if AAA’s so excited to turn unknowns into stars, maybe they need to work that magic on some guys they already have. The one guy who has definitely gotten over in the past is Jeff Jarrett, and I’d expect for him to be prominently involved. (This is also why it seems unlikely for TripleMania to have the LA Park/Zorro/Mesias match they’re building – got to get a TNA guy in there. Maybe a fourway?)

TNA is running in a Buffalo, NY minor league baseball stadium on the same night as TripleMania. Listed for that show are Hulk Hogan, AJ Styles, Abyss, Eric Young and Beer Money. Christopher Daniels may be available, but that means most of those in last year won’t be back this year. TNA airs on 52MX in Mexico; that’s pre-empted with other programming in the US.

5) Último GuerreroHirooki Goto [CMLL HEAVY]
Rudo took the first fall, but Guerrero came back to win the final two to keep the title.
6) La Máscara, La Sombra, RushAverno, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas
Despite Tirantes refereeing, the tecnicos still won in straight falls. Heavy feuding between Averno

Perro Aguayo Jr. held a press conference to talk about his surgery and announce his return. Tons of reports: MedioTiempo, Mi Lucha Libre, The Gladiatores, Estrellas del Ring, Record

Perro says he’s on food reactions, his blood will be tested regularly, he’s on medication, he’s not able to lift the weight he used to, but the doctors encouraged him to get back to work ASAP. Huh. Perro’s hair is shorter – he says the hospital did what Mistico or Wagner couldn’t do. A lot of challenges towards Wagner to keep that feud going. Perro spoke out against rumors that he’d actually been in rehab for substance abuse, declaring them false and his illness real. Since he mentioned it, the time span of his disappearing act was much close to the normal rehab stint than a operation on a vital organ, but he does have a surgical scar in his favor.

Ras de Lona included the official formation of a trio that’s been going for about ten days. Terrible & Texano announced they’ve left Hijos de Averno & Rey Bucanero had left Pesta Negra to form a new trio. (They asked for names, which never ever goes anywhere, and I thought they had a name.) Zacarias tried to join the group, and they all kicked him away. Zacarias latched on to Bucanero’s leg, but Terrible & Texano pulled him off. Zacarias gestured at the rudos, and they all chased him away.

Other stuff: Both the 05/08 and 05/15 Sunday shows are in Arena Mexico. DragonMania is probably 05/14 in Arena Mexico as well, so a lot of shows. Those are discounted shows, as are the 05/10 (1 peso for kids) and 05/03 (Fan Appreciation) shows. Cheap tickets before WWE comes to town? Strong push for Ultimo Guerrero vs Rey Escorpion (new change was quickly mentioned and then treated as no big deal.)  Goto talked in Spanish about the title match.

Fan Appreciation Show, but since they’re coming back with another cheap ticket the following week, some match is being set up here. Couldn’t tell you what.

This is Bam Bam’s only second DF match since losing his title two months ago, and he hasn’t been appearing much elsewhere.

CMLL (FRI) 05/06/2011 Arena Mexico

5) Blue Panther, Rush, Strong Man vs Rey Bucanero, Terrible, Texano
6) La Máscara, La Sombra, Máscara Dorada vs Atlantis, Averno, Último Guerrero

No tiebreaker match. Maybe I misunderstood? CMLL’s Forjando un Idolo page also says there will be a tiebreaker match if neither Guerrero Maya or Metal Blanco gets a bonus point. That won’t happen until after Sunday’s show and Maya is supposed to be in GDL on Tuesday, so that just leaves an added match to Monday. (Or Maya just getting pulled off GDL show. Or CMLL just ignoring it. Or doing match in an empty arena and putting it up on YouTube for fun.)

Main event is sort of top rudos vs top tecnicos (who happen to be the trios champs.) With Rush, Strong Man, Terrible and Texano on the show too, they’ve loaded it up with their big names even if they don’t have a big match.

CMLL (FRI) 04/22/2011 Arena Mexico [CMLL, Record, Cesar]
1) Demus 3:16 & Pierrothito b Astral & Eléctrico
Rudos took 1 & 3
2) Metro, Sagrado, Sangre Azteca b Shigeo Okumura, Virus, Yoshihashi
Tecnicos won fall 1 & 3. Metro has new white gear.
3) Escorpion b Rey Cometa [Forjando Un Idolo]
Escorpion [3] again pulled his opponent’s mask, but this time got away with it to beat Rey Cometa [3] in 5:53. Ultimo Guerrero yelled at Escorpion again, but Escorpion laughed and did not care because he won this time.
4) Ángel de Oro b Palacio Negro [Forjando Un Idolo]
Palacio Negro submitted Angel de Oro, but Tiger Hispano waved it off, claiming Palacio Negro used an illegal choke. Later, Angel de Oro [6] reversed Palacio Negro’s [3] campana into a mecedora for the win.
5) Blue Panther, La Máscara, La Sombra DQ Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto
Tecnicos won 1 and 3, the last when Averno unmasked La Mascara. Averno told Mascara that was the only way the tecnico could beat him; Averno is to good for Mascara to legally defeat. Mephisto took La Sombra’s mask after the match for good measure.
6) Héctor Garza, Hirooki Goto, Volador Jr. b Atlantis, Dragón Rojo Jr., Último Guerrero
Hirooki Goto won the first fall by pulling off his partner Volador’s mask and tossing it to UG to draw the DQ. Bit of genius there. Goto cleanly beat Guerrero in fall two for a straight fall win. Goto challenged Ultimo to a heavyweight title match, UG accepted, and it’s on for next Friday – which is both Kid’s Day and Arena Mexico Anniversary Day.

I have not heard an specific attendance number, but reports were more than 10,000. Lot of people in for holiday festivities, and it sounded like there were a lot more women in the crowd; not the hardcore rudo fans booing everything.

Forjando un Idolo matches

Perro Aguayo Jr. wrestling on that May 8th show in Cancun is probably not going to actually happen. On his every other week podcast on WrestlingObserver.com, Dr. Lucha said the word backstage at Wednesday’s AAA taping was Perro Jr. really did have the surgery, and really did have something taken out of him (and they knew the next day it wasn’t malignant), but he’s still going to get more medical tests done in Mexico City and he’s not expected to be back in the ring for a couple months. He may appear to do interviews, or even be at ringside for matches, but AAA doesn’t think they can use him in a match until at least TripleMania. Perros might have announced that May 8th date because they’re anxious to prove Perro Jr. doesn’t actually have cancer (and they don’t really have any other in-house stars), but he shouldn’t be expected to do anything at that show.

Also, on that same podcast, Dr. Lucha mentioned AAA found out only this past Tuesday that their show this weekend was going to be truncated to 30 minutes. (Televisa is showing diving coverage instead.) At first, Televisa offered to rip up AAA’s show into a 30 minute slot, but AAA opted for a rerun so they could debut Drago on a normal show. (That might explain why CMLL’s time slot looks so truncated as well. ) Not sure what this means for the US, though we’re unlikely to get any longer version of the show. Galavision is currently showing a 2 hour slot for AAA and a 1 hour for CMLL.

CMLL in NJPW:
04/23: Manabu Nakanishi (O) & Jushin Liger b Mascara Dorada & King Fale (X)
Dorada has yet to take a direct loss or pick up direct win.

I have not seen all of Ras de Lona this week, but they did not have the usual interviews; JCR and Miguel Linares talked about past Anniversary main events for four minutes (focusing on Blue Panther vs Villano V, maybe because they had a lot of footage of that one),  then later Leobrado and Miguel talked about for about four minutes about Ultimo Guerrero vs Villano V, and then again JCR & Miguel about the four way from last March. From the way they edited it, it looked a lot more like a three way – a certain WWE superstar was excluded from the highlights and never actually mentioned by name in talking about that match. That was a bit amazing.

3) Dragon Lee [0] vs Metal Blanco [1] [Forjando un Idolo]
4) Delta [3] vs Guerrero Maya Jr. [3] [Forjando un Idolo]

6) Hijo del Fantasma, La Máscara, La Sombra vs Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas, Rey Bucanero
7) Último Guerrero vs Hirooki Goto

UG & Goto have been feuding here too. Two chances at this means at least one should be pretty good.

This is group Charly, who are last in line to have their second group matches and first in line for the thirds. We won’t know what these matches mean until Sunday night, though I have the sneaking suspicion everyone might be tied at 1 win coming in this final day.

CMLL (TUE) 04/26/2011 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Quca vs Templario
2) Höruz & Virgo vs Acertijo & Malefico
3) Goya Kong, Marcela, Silueta vs Amapola, La Comandante, Mima Shimoda
4) Ángel de Oro, Diamante, Dragon Lee vs Arkángel de la Muerte, Ráfaga, Skándalo
5) La Sombra, Rush, Toscano vs Mr. Águila, Olímpico, Psicosis

Lineup from Ticketmaster. Can’t be quite right, unless Silueta is making a long commute.

Ras de Lona said Tuesday Arena Mexico has

3) Fuego vs Magnus [Forjando un Idolo]
4) Polvora vs Angel de Plata [Forjando un Idolo]
5) Stuka, Metal Blanco, Palacio Negro vs Virus, Euforia, Raziel
5) Brazo de Plata, Maximo, Blue Panther vs Terrible, Texano, Rey Bucanero

Edit: Actual lineup

CMLL (TUE) 04/26/2011 Arena Mexico
1) Bengala & Trueno vs Apocalipsis & Zayco
2) Dark Angel, Estrella Mágica, Luna Mágica vs Estrellita, Princesa Blanca, Tiffany
3) Fuego [3] vs Magnus [3] [Forjando un Idolo]
4) Ángel de Plata [0] vs Pólvora [6] [Forjando un Idolo]
5) Metal Blanco, Palacio Negro, Sangre Azteca vs Ephesto, Euforia, Raziel
6) Blue Panther, Máximo, Super Porky vs Rey Bucanero, Terrible, Texano

Stuka & Virus have other things to do? This is not a Queretaro week.

Main event is a rematch from last week. Next week is likely a Fan Appreciation show; would they rematch Dos Leyendas already?

Obviously, the winner of Fuego and Magnus advance (go Oaxaca!) and Plata & Polvora are playing out the string (barring Plata suddenly getting 2 bonus points, which we’re going to assume is not going happen and not mention as possibility for anyone else, but I wanted you to know I thought about it.)

CMLL (FRI) 04/29/2011 Arena Mexico
1) Pegasso, Sensei, Starman vs Dr. X, Hooligan, Inquisidor
2) Hijo del Fantasma, Sangre Azteca, Valiente vs Misterioso Jr., Shigeo Okumura, Vangelis
3) Puma King [0] vs Hijo del Signo [3] [Forjando un Idolo]
4) Diamante [6] vs Hombre Bala Jr. [3] [Forjando un Idolo]
5) Último Guerrero vs Hirooki Goto [CMLL HEAVY]
6) La Máscara, La Sombra, Rush vs Averno, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas

Kid’s Day & 55th Anniversary Show. They could’ve split those up, they did not, and they’re surely hoping for something well north of the magically 10K number.  Main event should be something. I do not like the rudos odds on this day!

I have a feeling that this Guerrero/Goto might be more playing to the audience, and the Puebla one is going to be better, but we’ll see. I’d be slightly surprised if Goto won, but UG is only a 55/45 favorite – CMLL is unafraid to give a lot to NJPW guys, feeling they’ll get it back later multiplied, and it gets CMLL to their magic number of 16 champions. Goto is gone after this weekend (maybe this show), but a title win means he’s back in a couple months.

Puma King vs Hijo del Signo is the only rudo vs rudo match in the group stage of Forjando un Idolo tournament, and it’s happening on Kid’s Day. Oops. We’d expect Signo & Bala both not to match results (neither has been close on the voting.) I can’t believe Puma is getting out of this with no points, so I’d expect Bala to take the second spot.

That leaves Group Bravo (Palacio vs Escorpion for the last birth) for next Sunday.

IWL (SAT) 05/14/2011 Deportivo Tlalli
1) El Panda, Gatillero, Hijo del Panda vs Payaso Carroña, Payaso Miedo, Payaso Terror
2) Chica Tormenta, Diva Salvaje, León Rojo, Talisman vs Celestial, Centinela, Gaviota, Lolita
3) Obett vs Judas el Traidor, Dinamic Black, Tribal, Pesadilla, Ragde, Eterno, Freelance, Chico Che [#1 Contenders, IWL Internet]
4) Fantasma de la Ópera vs Tony Rivera, Cerebro Negro, Ninja de Fuego, Fishman Jr., Zumbi, Hijo de Pirata Morgan, El Hijo del Medico Asesino, Kung Fu Jr., Ángel o Demonio [cage]
5) Chessman, Extreme Tiger, Silver Cain vs La Roca, Lizmark Jr., Pirata Morgan

La Roca exists again. That’s unfortunate. The poster also lists this show as Lucha Libre ATM, which may be a bit on the nose.
