Metal Blanco keeps his title, Diamante broken, Juvi/Super Crazy

CMLL (SUN) 06/26/2011 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [Fuego en el Ring]
1) El Divino & Hierro b Ángel del Mal & In Memoriam
2) Mr. Trueno & Rey Trueno b Apocalipsis & Mortiz
Mortiz was stretchered out after a Rey Trueno powerbomb.
3) Ángel Azteca, Guerrero Maya Jr., Starman b Arkángel de la Muerte, Ráfaga, Skándalo
Guerrero Maya was the big hero for his team.
4) Metal Blanco b Tiger Kid [OCCIDENTE WELTER]
Metal Blanco took falls 1/3 to keep the title.
5) Naito, Terrible, Texano b Hijo del Fantasma, Rush, Toscano
Naito got along with his partners and beat Fantasma.

Tiger is convinced he won the match, is the uncrowned champion, and challenged Metal Blanco to a mask match. There’s no explanation of why Tiger thinks these things, but he wants a rematch in Arena Mexico and then another one here.

CMLL (MON) 06/27/2011 Arena Puebla [Cinco Radio]
3) Astral, Bam Bam, Eléctrico b Demus 3:16, Pequeño Nitro, Pierrothito
4) Ángel de Oro, Delta, Angel de Plata? Diamante b Felino, Pólvora, Rey Escorpion
Felino replaced Misterioso. Not sure what the deal is with Diamante’s replacement – Angel de Oro is listed twice.
5) La Máscara, La Sombra, Rush b Averno, Mephisto, Mr. Niebla
Mascara got Averno with a campana. Another mask vs hair challenge.

Other News

Diamante suffered a fracture of his 3 of his toes and dislocation of another on Friday night, which will leave him out of action for five to six weeks. Toe injuries are pretty rare.

Juvi explains he’s facing Super Crazy because they have unresolved issues over the Mexicools not becoming the biggest faction in all of wrestling. It’s all Super Crazy’s fault, Juvi explains. (Juvi also takes credit for opening doors for Sin Cara & Alberto del Rio being in WWE. I’ve missed Juvi.) Meanwhile, Perros del Mal are talking about taking over Super X.

Arkangel’s 7/17 anniversary show will include an Arkangel tournament (the cibernetico?) and an exhibition by his students. On his blog, Mr. Cacao thanks CMLL for allowing him to return for the trios main event with Arkangel.

CMLL hype for the Dr. X vs Fuego feud mentions Fuego was supposed to be thinking about turning rudo (to continue the team with Polvora.) Hadn’t considered that. Anyway, he’s a tecnico because Dr. X keeps messing with him.

Lineups

indy (SUN) 07/03/2011 Arena Coliseo Monterrey
1) Dangerous & Galactar vs Androide & Rey Sagitario
2) Hijo del Ninja, Humberto Garza Jr., Ninja Jr. vs Neurosis, Sky, the Beast
3) Golden Boy, Rey Demonio, Simbolo vs Angel Dorado Jr., Dralion, Máscara Púrpura

Start of a new era show, so I could be bothered to suss out the alignments and post the lineup. I hope this works for them, but I kind of wonder if the problem with this arena is there is no long term continuity of luchadors. There’s vast turnover around ever three weeks, it’s got to be hard to form a connection being gone for three month stretches.

Super X (FRI) 07/15/2011 Arena Azteca Budokan
1) Eterno vs Daga
2) Marcela vs Rossy Moreno [GPCW WOMEN, tournament]
3) Histeria II, Oriental, Zumbido vs ?, Súper Nova, Zumbi
4) Villano IV & Villano V vs Negro Navarro & Solar I
5) Juventud Guerrera vs Super Crazy [NWE CRUISER]

Not sure how the women’s tournament works or if there are any  more matches than that. The GPCW SUPER-X Monster Championship, I’m sure you recall, was part of the initial tournament for the AAA World Heavyweight Championship. Perros del Mal actually showing up would be sort of interesting with the CMLL-allied talent on the show (but then, Super Crazy is already there.)

09/01 (2): GDL, Tijuana, 10 man cage match, CMLL Lineups

CMLL (TUE) 08/26 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Thunder Boy b Milenio
2) Metatron b Güero Loco
3) Pequeño Damian 666 b Bam Bam
4) Atenea & Lady Apache DQ Amapola & Hiroka
5) Damián 666 b Leon Blanco
6) Terrible & Texano Jr. b Rayman & Sagrado [OCCIDENTE TAG]
7) Atlantis & Último Guerrero b Marco Corelone & Sombra

Sombra replaced Mistico, and the rudos snuck in fouls for the win. Perros won clean, tripping up Sagrado on a springboard attempt to get to the finish. Mini Damian not only beat Bam Bam with a Black Hammer, but snuck in the fifth match to foul Leon Blanco and help the larger version win. Amapola got DQed for excessive violence on Lady Apache, which surely hurt their teamwork on Friday.

indy (FRI) 08/29 Auditorio de Tijuana [superluchas]
3) Blue Demon Jr. & El Hijo Del Santo b LA Park & Super Parka

Parkas were out of control in this match, getting DQ for ripping up the tecnicso masks and excessive violence, to the point where the comission warned them they’d stop the match if they didn’t settle down. (Park said something along the lines of not coming to Tijuana to play with dolls.) Tecnicos took in straight falls when Super Parka attacked the ref, allowing Santo to sneak in a foul and take the win. There’s tease of a Santo/Super Parka hair/mask match. Santo took Parka’s mask, back in 2003.

CANCION (SUN) 08/31 Centro de Espectaculos La Cancion de Tutltitlan [superluchas]
1) Anticristo, Excalibur, Toxico b Cerebro Negro, Fantasma de la Ópera, Men
2) Hermano Black Shadow I & Hermano Black Shadow II b Guerrero Siam & Tailandes
3) Super Calo L Intocable and El Fantasma and el Hijo Del Anibal and Mascara Ano 2000 Jr. and Solar I and Dr. Wagner Jr. and Zumbido and Lizmark Jr. and Toscano [cage, hair]

As everyone suspected, Super Calo lost his hair. Intocable winning it is no shocker either. They ran an angle where Zumbido hit both guys with a chair being the second to last guy out, so I guess there’s a feud here somewhere.

Sololuchas has full results of the AULL show.

CMLL (FRI) 09/05 Arena Mexico
1) Angel de Oro, Flash, Stuka Jr. vs Arkangel de la Muerte, Dr. X, Skandalo
2) Máximo, Metalik, Valiente vs Misterioso II, Sangre Azteca, Virus
3) La Máscara, Mictlán, Sagrado vs Damián 666, Dragon Rojo Jr., Mr. Águila
4) Blue Panther, La Sombra, Marco Corelone vs Atlantis, Lizmark Jr., Último Guerrero
5) Dos Caras Jr., Dr. Wagner Jr., Volador Jr. vs Heavy Metal, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas

don’t they need to announce Wagner/Niebla for the masks ASAP if they’re going to do it? They keep hinting in that direction.

Even more Mictlan/Dragon Rojo. Even more UG/Blue Panther. Panther/UG would obviously mean more in a mask match, but I don’t think UG/V5/Panther would mean significantly more since no one’s going to believe Ultimo Guerero is losing his mask to one of those two.

CMLL (SUN) 09/07 Arena Coliseo
1) Astro Boy & Sombra de Plata vs Cholo & Soberano
2) Fabián el Gitano, Máscara Púrpura, Tony Rivera vs Halcon Negro, Loco Max, Nitro
3) Amapola vs Lady Apache [CMLL WOMEN]
4) Grey Shadow, La Máscara, Sagrado vs Dragon Rojo Jr., Rey Bucanero, Sangre Azteca
5) Blue Panther, La Sombra, Volador Jr. vs Atlantis, Black Warrior, Último Guerrero

Lot ‘o Guerreros.

For some reason, I thought Lady Apache already won this title. That certainly makes the finish on Friday make more sense to me. The question now is, is Apache getting the hair and the belt or was this a 50/50 split?

Maybe someone thought “you know what, we really need another guy for this Tuareg group to really put them over the top (in the segundas). Anyone have Halcon Negro’s number?” Let’s go with that.

Of course, this real news is Cholo appearing. I don’t like his shot at getting his first win. Soberano appears to have shortening his name.

Juvi was interviews on the uh, an audio show who’s name isn’t specifically mentioned on the F4 recap nor is a link given, oops and says he’d like to get in CMLL. I’d like to be President. (No, I wouldn’t.)

Luchaworld has Robert on ’05 IWRG, ACM and AAA TV

3 hours of AAA TV is like watching a weekly house show… it’s so fantastic. I can’t even begin to imagine how amazing CMLL would be with a weekly 3 hour time slot covering a match from Arena Coliseo and the entire Arena Mexico show.

Things change!

06/12: Puebla, Hamadas, Lineups

CMLL (MON) 06/11 Arena Puebla [hugo999 @ box y lucha]
1) Forajido, Super Star, SWAT b Aguila Guerrera, Ares, Siki Ozama Jr.
2) Centella de Oro, Legionario, the Tiger CO Espiritu Malgino, Karissma, Toro Bill Jr.
3) La Sombra, Super Nova, Valiente b Dr. X, Negro Navarro, Nitro
4) Alex Koslov, Marco Corelone, Rey Bucanero b Atlantis, Averno, Mephisto
5) Heavy Metal, Negro Casas, Volador Jr. b Damián 666, Halloween, Mr. Águila

Tecnicos won the main event in straight falls and want a shot at the Mexican Trios titles. Espiritu Maligno was hurt on a dive by the Tiger, which ended the match. Tiger kept attacking him as he was being carted off, which restarted a brawl with the rudos.

Madrea @ El Martiente has pictures of the AAA Merida taping on Sunday, though they’re still not up yet and not as much on results. He notes the building was full, but a lot seemed to be there only for Latin Lover. (So, that’s 8 comments at least.) Juvi didn’t wrestle, due to some sort of arm injury and Cuije was using a walker – maybe these things will make sense after hearing about the previous taping.

La Presna talks about Ayako Hamada debuting in AAA over the weekend, as well as “Angela from TNA”. (???) Gran Hamada is also starting with the promotion, and the article teases a Mixed Title title challenge.

Some fans were critical of Los Cinco Magnificos because Perro’s opposition seemed more talented, but lost on votes. Perro Aguayo Jr. defended his win, saying his team was the best.

Box Y Lucha #2822 has Mistico winning the LdP. Nice action photo too.

El Halcon #92 is up, with interviews with Maximo, Lady Apache and Tzuki.

The San Diego county fair will have (unspecified) lucha libre on Saturday and Sunday. According to the website, there’s two shows on each day, free with admission to the fair.

04/15: new non-champion, Prision Fatal, bad week, CMLL DF lineups,

CMLL.com says Lady Apache has relinquished the Mexican National Women’s Championship. Apache had held the title since 2004, and thru multiple jumps between AAA and CMLL. Before Lady Apache’s first jump, it’d been AAA’s top year-round women’s title. Somewhere along the line, the belt became Lady Apache’s personal championship.

Historically, wrestlers are supposed to drop any National title they hold when they win a World championship in the same division. Lady Apache didn’t, and I presumed it was to guarantee she’d still have a belt when CMLL wanted to move their title onto someone else. Apache dropping the Mexican title would seem to mean she’s not worried about losing the CMLL belt for quite a while. I guess there’s a small chance the commission actually complained about the situation.

(That would also mean it may be a long time before Dark Angel wins a belt, since she wouldn’t be eligible for the Mexican title and would be aced out of the World title.)

CMLL says they’ll run a decision match for the belt in Arena Mexico soon.

According to Ovaciones, today’s IWRG main event is now a La Prision Fatal match, with 10 guys putting up their hair and masks:
– Astro Boy
– Okumura
– Masada
– Fantasma de la Opera
– Kai
– Yamato
– Dr. Cerebro
– Cerebro Negro
– Kraneo
– Esfinge

IWRG’s site is still down.

Ovaciones has a list of Bad Things That Happened This Week
04/07 – Referee El Acapulco died
04/07 – La Parka Jr.’s car accident
04/09 – Loco Max fractured two ribs in Puebla
04/12 – Dos Caras suffered a concussion
04/12 – when a dive goes wrong, Ultimo Dragoncito bruised his testicles
Next Tuesday, Puebla regular Asturiano is undergoing knee surgery.

The latest update on La Parka Jr., also from Ovaciones, is that he’s in Mexico city, and he’s got multiple fractures in his left arm and shoulder.

CMLL cards for the week

CMLL (TUE) 04/17 Arena Coliseo Lineup
1) Tiger Kid, Molotov vs Polvora, Vaquero
2) Marcela, Sahori, Luna Magica vs Hiroka, Amapola, Mima Shimoda
3) Felino, Maximo, Virus vs Ephesto, Misterioso Jr., Arkangel
4) Dr. Wagner Jr., Hijo de Lizmark, Negro vs Halloween, Mr. Aguila, Terrible
5) Alex Koslov vs Atlantis

Big match for Koslov. I don’t think Tiger Kid works a non-IWRG show without Felino. Assuming Tiger Kid is the same guy as Kid Tiger, which may kill me down the road.

CMLL (FRI) 04/20 Arena Mexico
1) Danger & Moltov vs Caligula & Messala
2) Leono, Valiente, Virus vs Euforia, Nosfearatu, Satanico
3) Alex Koslov, Blue Panther, Ultimo Dragon vs Misterioso II, Sangre Azteca, Tarzan Boy
4) Mistico, Negro Casas, Sagrado vs Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto
5) Marco Corleone, Rey Bucanero, Shocker vs Atlantis, Olimpico, Ultimo Guerrero

This could be an excellent gauge of High Society’s popularity. I figure there will be people leaving after the semimain. It’s Euforia and Nosferatu’s Arena Mexico debuts, and they may make it on CAN52 from here.

CMLL (SUN) 04/22 Arena Mexico – though CMLL doesn’t seem to note this site change on their site, so I dunno. Maybe next week instead?
1) Rayo Tapatio I & Rayo Tapatio II vs Polvora & Vaquero
2) Brillante, Tiger Metalico, Tigre Blanco vs Apocalipsis, Dr. X, Hooligan
3) Diana la Cazadora, Marcela, Sahori vs Amapola, Gatubela, Princesa Sujei
4) Hijo de Lizmark, Maximo, Texano Jr. vs Damian 666, Halloween, Mr. Aguila
5) Mistico, Rey Bucanero, Sagrado vs Atlantis, Black Warrior, Eclipse

That semimain is 5/6th rematch. I think it’s possible they switch Lizmark and Sagrado and go with a title match after the show tonight, but then again, this might be the Kids Show and why have the rudos get the win there? This is actually Diana la Cazadora’s first Arena Coliseo match, she’s worked a handful of Arena Mexico matches. I presume this Gatubela is the same women who was working in Arena Coliseo Monterrey in 2003 (and must’ve changed her name, since I haven’t seen her mentioned since – there’s a male wrestler also using that name.)

Brillante is the same guy as Brilliante Jr. in AOL – is he the same guy as the one in Xalapa? I have no idea of the geography of these things.

CMLL FSE has
04/08 Leono, Stuka Jr., Virus b Dr. X, Jeque, Loco Max
04/08 Damián 666, Halloween, Mr. Águila b Máximo, Satánico, Tigre Metálico

FSE is much quieter than the rest of my channels for some reason.

Accion

CMLL: Tag Team Titles. We get a wide shot of the stage side, and the building does lock packed. Mistico bleeds a bunch here – there’s not a focus on it, but the upper half of his mask is turned red.

AAA: Muerte/Kenzo vs Charly/Chessman – more tag team action than you can shake a stick at. Kenzo’s selling is unusual. Chessman embraces his inner high spot demon and tries a top rope corkscrew moonsault. That fails, and the Legion gets the heat. Konnan gets out of his wheelchair long enough to use a cane to cheat, but the Hell Brothers make a comeback and Charly wins with an inverted figure four on Kenzo.

AAA’s TV tapings start back up tonight with a TV in Veracruz. Note that the main event will obviously have to change with no Parka – maybe Intocable or Octagon in his spot?

03/28: Coliseo, Tijuana, Monterrey, Ticketmaster

CMLL (TUE) 03/27 Arena Coliseo Results [ovaciones]
1) Angel Azteca Jr., Explosivo b Carrona, Zayco
2) Mini Damian 666, Mini Halloween, Mini Mr. Aguila b Tzuki, Shockercito, Electrico
3) Hirooki Goto, Okumura, Ohara b La Mascara, Virus, Texano Jr.
4) Lady Apache b Amapola [CMLL WOMEN]
5) Atlantis, Ultimo Guerrero, Misterioso Jr. b Shocker, Rey Bucanero, Heavy Metal
6) Dr. Wagner Jr. b Averno

The big news is Shocker actually wrestled a scheduled match. The rumors of him going to WWE popped back up over the weekend, but I’ve not heard them come from WWE’s direction.

Ovaciones says just over 2,000 people showed up for this card. I don’t know what they’ve been drawing lately on Tuesdays (just generically “bad”), but it doesn’t seem like this card was as interesting to the people who were buying tickets as it was to me. I guess, not knowing what they’ve drawn previously, this could even be a bump up, but it’s still a low amount. On this night, Wagner wasn’t a draw and the women’s title wasn’t a draw.

Ovaciones was sounded very down on Amapola/Lady Apache (which was three falls) and doesn’t have much to say about Averno/Dr. Wagner. “Dr. Wagner put Averno in his place”, indeed.

VIVA LA LUCHA (FRI) 03/30 Palenque el Parque Morelos, Tijuana Lineup
1) Disco Machine, Karl Anderson, Joey Ryan vs Human Tornado, Lil Cholo, Silver Tiger
2) Pancho Cachondo, Animaniac, Shamu vs Viernes 13, Tazmania, Scream
3) Super Astro, Venum Black vs Angel Mensajero, Psico
4) Genio del Aire, Iron Boy, Luminoso vs Phoenix Star, Zokre, Cobra II
5) La Parkita, Octagoncito vs Piratita Morgan, Espectrito
6) Los Ice Creams vs Jigsaw, Lince Dorado
7) Xtreme Tigre vs Mortiz
8) Nicho, Juventud Guerrera vs Rey Misterio, LA Park

This is a co-promoted show with TJ’s lucha commission, a free show, and a pilot TV taping. ‘ccording to El Sol de Tijuana, it’s for a Yet To Exist US Combat Sports network, which, well – it’d be nice if it happened, let’s say it like that. PWI says it’ll be G4, so I may have to get over hating that network if this makes air. Since this is just a pilot, it’s far from sure it’ll ever be air anywhere.

I’m guessing this is two (or more) shows combined into one taping. Whoever’s doing this seems to have a clue, because they’re making the local stars the headliners instead of the random US/Canada indy guys, which seemed like an issue with the US-ish run RLLX in Guadalajara (though I guess we should remember that it probably didn’t matter who was on top given the billon other things that seemed to go wrong for that group.)

I wish I loved Xtreme Tiger as much as everyone who books him. I presume PWG is providing the film crew and that’s why their guys are working the opener. Sixth match is from CHIKARA; whoever did the poster I’m looking at had it listed as “Los Helado Atomico”, and it wasn’t untll I looked at the PWI article that I realized someone had translated “Ice Cream”. PWI also says Cobra II is TJ Perkins in one of his dozen masked gimmick – he wrestled under that name once in Arena Coliseo.

Do you think LA Park is going to be BANNED FOREVER from Arena Mexico for working a show with AAA worker Juvi (and Nicho, maybe)? I’m thinking no.

indy (TUE) 03/27 Arena Coliseo Monterrey [rfc]
1) Rey Morgan ?? Jimmy Navarro
2) Erin Snake b Angel Negro
3) Ejecutor b Ultraman Jr.
4) Konnan King b Huracan Ramriez Jr.
5) Silver Star b Silver Cat
6) Pancho Tequila b Golden Boy

They failed to deliver Nygma vs Silver Cat! What a fraud.

Ovaciones confirms Friday’s show will be on PPV, and mentions that tickets will be on sale today at Arena Mexico. That ticket mention is a twisted way of saying* the Ticketmaster deal is off, I believe. There’s still no ticket listing at the site. This week’s Figure Four Weekly has a story on the situation. Ticketmaster typically adds a flat processing on every ticket, as do most similar ticket services. That fee would be a big increase to the cheaper tickets, so CMLL would rather Ticketmaster just take a percentage of the ticket cost. Neither side has budged – Ticketmaster doesn’t need CMLL, and CMLL rather do things their own way. Ovaciones mentioning that you can buy tickets at Arena Mexico and not even addressing the ticketmaster situation is the usual (highly annoying) way of addressing the issue by not addressing it all.

There ARE Ticketmaster alternatives – MLB owned Tickets.com, for one, so maybe they’ll look around for a better deal.

Ovaciones also has stories on Niebla, Oriental, and Super AAA visiting a home from special needs children, and La Parka Jr. perhaps going rudo.

El Halcon #89 is up. They’ve got an interview with La Mascara (who credits Skayde and Negro Navarro for helping him with classic lucha elements), second part of the Cibernetico interview and a Vaquero Q&A (he says he’s once won the world Minis title – ?), as well as features on the original Ray de Jalisco and the fourth part of it’s look back at the original El Halcon.

03/24: Mexico, GdR

CMLL (FRI) 03/23 Arena Mexico [Alvin @ el Martiente, ovaciones]
1) Mini Olímpico & Último Dragoncito b Mini Violencia & Pierrothito
2) Leono, Máximo, Sagrado b Hirooki Goto, Ohara, Shigeo Okumura
3) Alex Koslov, Rey Bucanero, Volador Jr. b Ephesto, Mephisto, Misterioso II
4) el Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Héctor Garza, Mr. Águila b Atlantis, Sangre Azteca, Último Guerrero [CMLL TRIOS]
5) Lizmark Jr., Marco Corelone, Místico DQ Black Warrior, Olímpico, Universo 2000

First fall was rudo DQ for excessive beatdown, second fall was Mascara Ano 2000 running in for the DQ. Obviously the idea is Corleone gets all kinda of worked over to set up the big comeback next week, but it made for a poor main event this week. They teased Mistico and Lizmark not getting along, but very slightly. Perro low blowed Atlanbtis and Ultimo in the final fall of the title match, and he and Hector got the pins.

Alvin also posted Tuesday’s lineup

CMLL (TUE) 03/27 Arena Coliseo Lineup
1) Angel Azteca Jr., Explosivo vs Carrona, Zayco
2) Tzuki, Shockercito, Electrico vs Mini Damian 666, Mini Halloween, Mini Mr. Aguila
3) La Mascara, Virus, Texano Jr. vs Hirooki Goto, Okumura, Ohara
4) Lady Apache vs Amapola [CMLL WOMEN]
5) Shocker, Rey Bucanero, Heavy Metal vs Atlantis, Ultimo Guerrero, Misterioso Jr.
6) Averno vs Dr. Wagner Jr.

Huh. This is the most interesting Tuesday card in a while. Figured Avenro pinning Wagner was leading to something, but not a singles match. Why do they keep booking Shocker in matches? It’s not going to work out! I think the women’s match is scheduled the best for all of – I get the feud to move on in some measure, and you get no chance of it airing on TV. I presume Electrico is an Electro Shock mini, and that can’t be a good idea. Though it makes sense he’s teaming with Shockericto. CMLL.com talks about Angel Azteca Jr., and notably doesn’t say he’s Angel Azteca’s son – but if he’s just some guy who bought the gimmick, why is he being rushed on to a card?

Friday is the PPV lineup, and there are no changes there.

CMLL (SUN) 04/01 Arena Coliseo Lineup
1) Rayo Tapatio I, Rayo Tapatito II vs Messala, Caligula
2) Ultimo Dragocnito, Tzuki, Mini Olimpico vs Mini Halloween, Mini Damian 666, Mini Mr. Aguila
3) Virus, Stuka Jr., Leono vs Loco Max, Dr. X, Jeque
4) Shocker, Heavy Metal, Mascara Sagrada vs Olimpico, Misterioso II, Mascara Ano 2000
5) LA Park, Ultimo Guerrero, Atlantis vs Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Damian 666, Halloween

GdR has
03/16 Mexico: Hiroka, Mima Shimoda, Princesa Sujei b Dark Angel, Luna Magica, Sahori
03/18 Coliseo: Dos Caras Jr., Lizmark Jr., Mistico b Black Warrior, Olimpico, Ultimo Guerrero
and a look at Rey Bucanero’s house.
