CMLL (TUE) 10/23/2012 Arena Mexico [CMLL]
1) Apocalipsis & Guerrero Negro Jr. b Genesis & Soberano Jr.
2) Cancerbero, Hijo del Signo, Raziel b Bengala, Metálico, Sensei
3) Pierrothito b Último Dragoncito [lightning]
Pierrothito won in 7:12.
4) Fuego, Sagrado, Stuka Jr. b Namajague, Shigeo Okumura, Vangelis
Tecnicos took 2/3, Sagrado pinning Okumura.
5) Niebla Roja, Terrible, Tiger b Ángel de Oro, Diamante, Hijo del Fantasma
Niebla Roja replaced Rey Bucanero, who suffered a knee injury Monday in Puebla. Rudos took 2/3. Angel de Oro hurt his knee, and Niebla Roja seemed very concerned.
6) Atlantis, Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr. b Black Warrior, Mr. Águila, Volador Jr.
Delta wore pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month. Euforia started the match for the rudos, but was replaced by a late arriving Mr. Aguila (so late he didn’t have his hair up or his facepaint on.) Tecnicos won and challenged for a rematch.

CMLL (TUE) 10/23/2012 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [Fuego en el Ring]
1) Virgo b Thunder Boy
2) Metatrón & Smaker b Exterminador & Ráfaga
Smaker replaced Black Metal, Rafaga replaced Malefico.
3) Pequeño Olímpico, Pequeño Violencia, Pequeño Warrior b Aereo, Pequeño Halcón, Shockercito
4) Ephesto, Mephisto, Tama Tonga b La Sombra, Marco Corleone, Rush
Tonga pinned Sombra in the first/third.
5) Máximo DQ Averno
Averno got help from Mephisto and Ephesto. Maximo snuck in a small package, and the rudos ran in for the DQ. Rush & Marco tried to make the save but were laid out, leading to a trios title match next week.

Halloween wrote he suffered one broken rib and two fractured ribs in Sunday’s title match with Ricky Marvin & Super Crazy. He does not know when he will be able to return. (Website suggests a painful 6-10 week recovery, which means he’s probably done for the year.) We can only hope this doesn’t hurt his chances with Mari Apache.

R de Rudo caught up to Damian 666 to ask what was with Mr. Aguila teaming with him last weekend. He explained it as X-Fly missing a flight back from Ciudad Juarez and Aguila filling in as a one time replacement. Damian’s off to Panama this weekend.

Heddi Karaoui is out of Thursday’s IWRG IC Middleweight Championship match. Relampago legdropped him on the head on Thursday, concussion Karaoui and taking him out of one of his biggest matches since coming to Mexico. Oficial AK47 takes Karaoui’s spot. That’s much more interesting match to me, but it’s unfortunate for Karaoui.

Kaiser Sports has this message posted on top of their website:

A nuestros queridos amigos, seguidores y lectores: Ante las nuevas disposiciones del CMLL que limitan nuestro libre ejercicio profesional, desde este 23 de octubre ya no podremos ofrecer información al respecto, pues consideramos que valores como la lealtad y el respeto deben ser mutuos, no solo unilateralmente, Gracias.

CMLL is implementing some new policy “that limits our profession” so they’ll no longer be covering CMLL “because we feel values of loyalty and respect must be mutual.” Harsh. I wonder what “limits our profession” means? CMLL demanding approval over anything posted?

Whatever it is, this is really disappointing. It’s another excellent source of CMLL news run off by CMLL. Many times, like the recent Guerrero break up, the Kaiser Sports interviews have done a better job of explaining and getting over CMLL’s storylines than CMLL’s done on their own. CMLL is still covered in papers and some of the magazines, but most of the coverage is frequently dry lineups and results, nothing that would cause someone to be interested in CMLL if they weren’t already. It’s also usually the same article just reprinted as copy everywhere; this is a source of original material that’s just going to be gone and not replaced. CMLL and Kaiser Sports had a falling out about a year ago that was eventually resolved, hopefully that’ll just repeat.

It also has some slight international implications, since they were supplying NJPW with interview photos when their guys would come to CMLL (Alexis sends the match/press conference ones.)

Hijo de LA Park and Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. will be in the Castle of Terror after all.

LuchaWorld has Alfredo on this week’s 52MX show.

3) La Máscara, La Sombra, Máscara Dorada vs Kráneo, Olímpico, Psicosis
4) Marco Corleone, Máximo, Rush vs Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto [CMLL TRIOS]
Love Buffet are champs.

Fun show. Main event should be good, semimain should be a fun romp for the tecnicos, and pequeno estrellas all flying around in the opener. (Also, Metatron.) Like the full sized version, this is a repeat from doing the tournament in May in Arena Mexico. Even CMLL can’t keep track of it’s tournaments.

CMLL (TUE) 10/23/2012 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [Fuego en el Ring]

10/21 AAA Fusion Results (Arena Lopez Mateos)

AAA Fusion (SUN) 10/21/2012 Arena Lopez Mateos [AAABlack Terry Jr. (flickr)]
1) Astro de Plata (IWRG) & Freelance b Dr. Cerebro & Mike Segura
2) La Hechicera, Mari Apache, Sexy Star b La Braza, Nygma, Polvo de Estrellas
Hechicera splash for the win.
3) Devil Rocker, Machine Rocker, Soul Rocker b Aerostar, Extreme Tiger, Súper Fly
Super Fly suffered a neck strain on a dive. Machine Rocker pinned Aerostar on a rolling German suplex.
4) Ricky Marvin & Super Crazy b Daga & Halloween [GHC JUNIOR]
Marvin & Crazy retained their tag titles, Marvin pinning Daga with a sit down piledriver. Halloween suffered three broken ribs in the match.
5) Chessman, Silver King, Último Gladiador b El Mesías, Fenix, Vampiro
Maniacos (with Trolli) laid out Vampiro before the match, then got the win.

Air Date: 10/24 and 10/31, or 10/31 and 11/07

AAA recap doesn’t add too many more details (and doesn’t mention Halloween’s injury.) Not totally sure who pinned who in the main event.

Attendance does not look as bad in some pictures as it did in the early ones, but it’s not a sellout and AAA running in a building of this size (2000) should be one. This was the sixth taping in Mexico City or Mexico State since TripleMania (that show, the Expo, Arena Naucalpan, Ecatepec for regular TV, Sala and this show for Fusion) in about 7 weeks, not to mention other shows in DF (like Wagner and family in Arena Azteca Budokan the same day.) It’s also the 7th show in this arena in the  same time. AAA has pointed out their increased ratings, but they’re not so high they can’t suffer from overexposure.

10/07 AAA TV Results (SLP) – Heroes Inmortales

AAA TV (SUN) 10/07/2012 Domo Centro de Espectaculos, San Luis Potosi [Black Terry Jr. (flickr), Fuego en el Ring]
***Heroes Inmortales, 2012***
1) Mini Charly Manson, Mini Histeria, Mini Psycho Clown b Dinastía, Mascarita Dorada, Octagoncito
Mini Charly replaced Mini Psicosis and beat Dorada with a foul.
2) Halloween & Mari Apache b Atomic Boy & Fabi Apache and Fenix & Lolita and Alan Stone & Jennifer Blake [AAA MIXED TAG]
Match was announced for vacant titles, but Alan Stone replaced Ultimo Gladiador and so the tag champs were reunited. Halloween replaced Gran Apache. Both may be explained on TV we haven’t seen yet. Sexi Star was guest referee, which was mentioned when the lineup was announced locally but treated as a surprise here. Gran Apache attacked Atomic Boy and powerbomed him on the floor. Halloween speared Fabi, then allowed Mari to have the honor of the winning pin. Gran Apache did a 180 on Halloween and talked him up to Mari, but Mari still left Halloween hanging when he went for a hug.
3) Joe Lider & Vampiro b Abyss & Chessman [AAA TAG]
Abyss & Chessman came in as champs. Usual hardcore match. Vampiro pinned Chessman to win the title. Abyss was angry about the title loss and beat up Chessman. Vampiro tried to make the save, but Chessman attacked him.
4) Texano Jr. b El Elegido, Extreme Tiger, La Parka Jr., Toscano, Daga, Héctor Garza, Juventud Guerrera, Último Gladiador, El Mesías, Heavy Metal, Psycho Clown, Alebrije [Copa Antonio Pena]
Battle royal and maybe royal rumble rules. Elimination order went Toscano, Extreme Tiger, Ultimo Gladiador (evidently replacing Zorro), Psycho Clown, Juvi and then no more were mentioned of it. Juvi suffered a shoulder injury and was strechered out. Elegido, Daga, Heavy Metal did participate and went out of during this span. AAA’s recap also mentions Alebrije being added to the match. Final four were Parka, Garza, Mesias and Texano. Garza and Park went out, and Texano won with a Konnan distraction and a foul. Texano said he respected Antonio Pena’s contributions – to CMLL – but refused to accept the trophy. Mesias vowed to send Texano back to CMLL. Referee Copetes ruled the championship vacant.
5) Jeff Jarrett, Máscara Año 2000 Jr., Silver Kain b Dr. Wagner Jr., LA Park, Zorro
Zorro replaced Electroshock. Rudos won with a Jarrett chair shot to Park and destroyed Parka after the match.
6) Halloween L Cibernético, Cuervo, Jack Evans, Ozz, el Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Teddy Hart, Psicosis [dome cage, hair]
Last man out lost his hair. Teddy was accompanied by the two (unnamed) blonde women from Thursday’s Perros del Mal show. Order of escape went Cibernetico, Ozz, Psicosis, Perro, Teddy, Jack and finally Cuervo to leave Halloween behind. Both the Perros and Sect got involved when it came down to Cuervo and Halloween, with Fabi and Atomic Boy also attacking Halloween with a light tube, and Cuervo powerbombing Halloween thru a table.

Air Date: 10/20, 10/27

AAA’s Twitter also said there’d be about a surprise as far as how we’ll be able see the show. My guess is they’re upload to YouTube; they did that with both TripleMania and the expo show, and have done it for non-match footage from Ecatepec.

This is Halloween’s 3rd hair loss in 3 years. He lost his hair on the same event one year ago, in the Psycho Circus vs Perros del Mal masks vs hair match. I had hypothesized Halloween had been offered a reward for sticking in AAA when his friends had left; I might still be right, though I was off by one show. It’s Cuervo’s first hair match win in a decade; he won a few in the late 90s, when he was an indy guy wrestling in the likes of Arena Lopez Mateos. This is a result Arena Mexico fans would be mightily uphappy about – similar to Goya Kong losing her mask/scarf. I think AAA fans probably were hoping for a more significant result, but have been trained as to what AAA considers a fair result and aren’t (or shouldn’t) be surprised.

Don’t have an attendance number. Judging from Black Terry Jr.’s pictures – which you should click and check out up there – the top level/ring of the arena was empty (not sold?) and the luxury boxes were mostly unused, but the lower levels seem pretty full. Maybe in the 9,000 area, but your guess is as good as mine.

Not sure what happened to Electroshock. He worked Tinieblas show on Thursday and there’s no mention of an injury in the recap. Also curious is Hector Garza apparently being OK to work this show when he was too hurt to work the Perros del Mal show a couple days prior (but it’s nice he’s feeling better!)

I’m not quite sure why Texano is friends with Konnan, when Consejo was very specifically against everyone else and only forced to team with others them by decree. Konnan sure seems to be the brains behind every rudo faction at the same time. Perhaps this is explained on a vignette that I haven’t seen yet (though it wouldn’t hurt AAA to bring up these skits elsewhere.)

Next taping is 10/12, as posted earlier today. AAA has one more major show of the year, Guerra de Titanes. It usually takes place in early December. Every AAA major show has taken place on Sunday this year, so figure 12/09 or (more likely) 12/16. Maybe in Ciudad Madero, since they’ve not run TV there all year and have run major shows in the past.

Update: El Sol de San Luis Potosi estimates the attendance as “3/4ths full, 5,000 fans” That’s a lot smaller building then I had seen listed earlier this weekend (7, 500 instead of 11,000.) They also confirm the Copa Antonio Pena was Royal Rumble style, with Mesias and Daga starting out and joined by Psycho Clown, Elegido, Juvi, Tiger, Toscano, Glaidador, Texano, Metal, Alebrije, Parka, and Hector Garza in last. It’s still listed as 12 man match though that sure seems like 13 names.

09/16 AAA TV Results (Ecatepec)

AAA TV (SUN) 09/16/2012 Centro Civico de Ecatepec, EdM [AAA (via R de Rudo), Black Terry Jr. (flickr)]
1) Mini Charly Manson & Mini Histeria b Dinastía & Mascarita Dorada
Manson pinned Dorada with feet on the ropes, continuing their feud.
2) Gran Apache & Mari Apache b Cuervo & Fabi Apache
Halloween interfered many times to help the Apaches to win. This was explained after the match, where Halloween offered flowers to Mari Apache and said he was in love with her. Mari turned him down. Halloween was very sad.
3) Devil Rocker, Machine Rocker, Soul Rocker b Alebrije, Fenix, Samurai del Sol
Inferno Rockers kept their win streak going.
4) Chessman, Halloween, Psicosis b Cibernético, Héctor Garza, Ozz
Chessman speared Ozz for the win, then Perro and Konnan called the tecnicos (especially Garza) names.
5) Dr. Wagner Jr., Electroshock, Jack Evans b Máscara Año 2000 Jr., Silver King, Teddy Hart
Wagner Driver on Teddy Hart for the win. The big news was prematch, where Mascara Ano 2000 Jr. debuted a new mascot – Ke Changuito!

via AAA

Air Date: let’s go with 09/30, although everything is fluid. By airing the top matches this past Saturday on the main show, that means the previous 2 taping Tampico show has been but to 1 (due to TripleMania running long) and everything else shifts up a week until the next time plans change. It also means they’d have to tape Heroes Inmortales on a Sunday to air on the following Saturday.

With the new setup, only the two main events should be expected to air on the national show. The undercard sounds excellent, but will only air on the regional show (and probably should be, since the stuff in the main even is how they’re selling Heroes Inmortales.) This pattern changes if they have a two taping show, but that doesn’t seem likely until SLP.

A lot of patriotic colors on display for this show, as you’d expect for the holiday weekend.

It seems like they’re setting up Dorada vs Manson as a apuesta match down the line. They haven’t gotten to mask pulling yet, so it’s way down the line. (Like March or June.)

Black Terry hadn’t gotten thru the main event pictures yet, so you’re stuck with only the shot from AAA’s Twitter on the Consejo monkey. My official position is it’s hilarious they’d have their own fake Monito (and it’s probably Trolly in the gear), but they’re apparently getting enough negative reaction to push back on it on Twitter and Facebook today.

I have not gotten to this week’s TV, but the Mari Apache & Halloween bit appears to have come from left field. (And goes right back there, as they’re not teamed up in any upcoming match.) It can’t be worse than Fabi Apache and Cuervo, who did not show any romantic chemistry in the interview from Tercera Caida.

Next taping is 09/28 in Naucalpan. Lineup, with a few familiar IWRG names, will be up shortly.

AAA on Televisa #984 (04/02/2011)

taped @ Plaza de Toros Monumental, Morelia, Michoacan, 03/13/2011

file: here
recap: here

Fabi Apache & Pimpinela Escarlata vs Alan Stone & Jennifer Blake for the AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championship: Not a lot of time and Fabi appeared to be hurt, but it was good for the time they did have.

Heavy Metal vs Electroshock in a bull terrier match: An AAA chain match, for sure. The idea of getting these guys over by their matches was undermined by having the Maniacos interference decide nearly every match. It’s almost over now.

Billy el Malo, Charly Manson, Taboo vs Silver King, Último Gladiador, Zorro: Billy was murdered last week, won a match this week. He should die more often.

Dr. Wagner Jr., Monster Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown vs Damián 666, el Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Halloween, Hijo del Lizmark: Same brawl they do every week. The more the Clowns are on TV, the less the announcers seem to know their names. It’s bizarre.

El Mesías, Joe Lider, La Parka vs Cibernético, Escoria, Nygma: Nice for all these groups to have ready made people to take all the falls. The Parka & Cibernetico singles match can’t possibly happen in 2011, but they continue to move in that direction.

10/05: IWRG, NWA Mexico, lineups

In Ovaciones, Arutro Rivera says Perro Jr. and Mistico are being pressured to come back ASAP, but aren’t medically cleared (and may want to wait until they’re actually healed.)

AAA (SUN) 09/28 Chapa de Mota, EdM [Super Luchas #284]
1) Angel Enmascarado & Heavy Boy b Black Misterio & Chico Malo Jr.
2) La Rebelde b Mayam
3) Reyna Herodes & Sauxis b Princesa Zareth & Yeska
4) Casandro & Estrellita Magica vs Lady Sensacion & Mujer Demente
5) Atomic Boy & Octagoncito b Mini Charly Manson & Mini Chessman
6) Abismo Negro & El Elegido b Cuervo & Escoria

Abismo Negro here looks liks Black Abyss. Well, I mean, he was wearing Black Abyss’s gear.

IWRG (THU) 10/02 Arena Naucalpan [Super Luchas #284]
1) Eragon b Epidemia
2) Pendulo & Terror Negro b Judas el Traidor & Sauron
3) Oficial 911, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro b Freelance, Pegaso Extreme, Rey Cometa
4) el Hijo Del Anibal, Latino, Multifacético b Black Terry, el Hijo del Pierroth, Ghost Rider
5) Shocker & Zumbido b Fuerza Guerrera & Toscano

So they did team up at least once! Never mind then. Scorpio Jr. made an appearance to mention his benefit show here on 10/17, and to take photos with Shocker and Zumbido to tease them as a new/old trio.

AAA (FRI) 10/03 Auditorio de Tijuana [frontera]
2) Joe Lider & Nicho el Millionario b Extreme Tiger & Psicosis II and Arandu & TJ Boy [AAA TAG, ladder]
4) Cibernetico b Chessman [cage]

Kenzo attacked Cibernetico, Mesias attacked Chessman, Mesias did a better job of it.

Psicosis replaced Halloween, who’s out with an injured ankle, though there’s a rumor Halloween may be done in AAA. This would also seem to confirm TJ Extreme is done here, because he otherwise would’ve been the logical replacement. Extreme Tiger climbed up the ladder (this wasn’t originally listed as a ladder match but apparently ended up being one), Tiger had a chance to grab the belts, but opted to dive off the ladder instead. Lider ended up powerbombing him and, according to this, pinned him for the win. In a ladder match. I don’t know!

NWA Mexico (SAT) 10/04 Gimnasio Juan de la Barrera [SuperLuchas, SoloLuchas: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5,
1) Turbo b Black Thunder
2) Dr. Cerebro b Skayde
3) Pierko el Boricua CO Super Muneco
4) Incógnito b Danger
5) Black Terry b Negro Navarro and Solar I and Shu el Guerrero
6) Blue Demon Jr. DQ El Dandy
7) Juvi, Mil Mascaras, Tarzan Boy b Antifaz, Hator, Head Hunter I

In the main event, Mil Mascaras had Head Hunter I beat but the other rudos distracted the referee, and Head Hunter II returned to attack Mil and take his brother’s place. One brother subbing for another during a match, can you imagine such a thing? Anyway, it’s Mil so he still won.

Dandy gave Demon a martinete and was shocked to be DQed. Piledrivers are not DQs by NWA rules, Dandy pointed out. He may have something there. Demon was strechered out.

Super Muneco knocked himself out on a bump to the floor, which cause them to retighten the ropes and adjust the mats. Everyone says Black Thunder has a dive which will certainly get him killed. Sounds fun. Turbo got new gear.

Attendance is estimated at 600, up from the first show.

LuchaWorld has Robert on IWRG 03/23/06, AAA TV 03/31/06 and CMLL TV 04/01/06 and KrisZ’s news update.

Of all the lucha coverage, Accion spent the most time on a video package marking the second anniversary of Antonio Pena’s death. CMLL main event was shown (Atlatnis looked like an older man than Panther, and Panther doesn’t have a mask) as was AAA’s Cibernetico vs Mesias vs Chessman match (no finish was evident here; Chessman seems to have new gear, which probably could be improved upon.) No WWE clips.

4) Palacio Negro vs Rey Trueno
5) Gallo & Leon Blanco vs Máscara Mágica & Toxico
6) Dos Caras Jr. & Marco Corelone vs Olímpico & Último Guerrero
7) Atlantis vs Alex Koslov [NWA LH]

I like how this match happens after I make fun of Atlantis not defending this title just a couple days ago.

IWRG (THU) 10/09 Arena Naucalpan
1) Eragon & Miss Gavitoa vs King Drako & Nemesis IWRG
2) Freelance, Pegasso Xtreme, Rey Cometa vs Oficial 911, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro
3) Head Hunter I vs Toscano, el Hijo Del Anibal, Zumbido, Mascara Ano 2000 Jr., Hjio de Pierroth, Latino, Multifacético, Aeroman, Fuerza Guerrera

I think the main event may be a 10 way strap match. I’m not sure, because that doesn’t sound right.

4) Alex Koslov, Dr. Wagner Jr., Volador Jr. DQ Atlantis, Sangre Azteca, Ultimo Guerrero
5) Hector Garza, Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Lizmark Jr. b Blue Panther, Mistico, Negro Casas

Main event is as expected, with Perro fouling and pinning Mistico for the win. Panther got his mask yanked off post match. They’re pushing Panther vs Lizmark.

Semimain sounds like it had a mess of a finish. Depending on which report you read, it was either a two fall win for the tecnicos with the rudos being DQed in the first fall excessive violence, or a three fall win for the tecnicos with Ultimo yanking Wanger’s mask. It sounds like not everyone (in the ring) was clear on the first fall finish, and it caused chaos. Wagner and Ultimo made challenges post match.

Sombra did not have a good night.

Ovaciones confirms the rumor floating around message boards – Halloween’s gone from the Perros (and CMLL) for now. Not sure what/if this means about the Mexican Trios titles. For it’s part, CMLL mentions Perro is looking for TWO new members of their group.

CMLL (TUE) 08/07 Arena Coliseo

Terrible replaced Black Warrior, who still seems to be missing. No details on the main event. I think Ultimo fouled Marco for the pin in the semimain, if I’m reading this right.

El Salavador has an obit for Caballero Rojo

La Voz de La Frontera previews a Mexicali show by talking up Dr. Wagner Jr.’s feuds with Atlantis, Black Warrior and Damian 666. Huh.

Blue Demon Jr. was on a panel, talking about the importance of physical education in school.

Box Y Lucha 2823 has Perro winning the reality show. Ehhhh. It’s been nice to see Blue Demon Jr. all the sudden become a Perro del Mal member when it gets him on TV.

Some lineups after the break, including Jeque’s Big Match (Take 2)

06/15: Villano IV’s injury, Mexico preview, Puebla

Villanos are in Ovaciones, but it’s ESTO who finally gets word on Villano IV’s injury. He’s hoping to be back in less than six months. They’ve changed the card, Villano III replacing Halloween (who could be hurt again – or he could just be getting the night off.)

Villano IV’s injury would seem to derail whatever program they had in mind here. Honestly, they had to bring in the Villanos to lose their masks to the Guerreros, because I don’t understand why you’d give them spots on the card for any other reason right now. (CMLL does do stuff for random reasons, so I may just not understand.) They could still do a singles match with someone vs V, but a tag feud with Villano’s III hair on the line won’t work since he just lost it (and doesn’t have much to start with.) They could have the Villanos recruit a replacement member from CMLL, but that doesn’t seem like CMLL. I think this one might just drift off into the land of forgotten angles, but we’ll get a better read on it tonight.
