05/24 AAA Evolucion Results (Tampico)

AAA Evolucion (FRI) 05/24/2013 Auditorio Municipal de Tampico [AAA]
1) Carta Brava Jr., Eita, Mike Segura b Freelance, Mamba, Saturno
Segura and Freelance made it this week! Saturno & Eita making their debuts. Segura was last on a main AAA taping in August 1997.
2) Faby Apache, Flamita, Octagoncito b Eterno, Mini Charly Manson, Taya Valkyrie
Faby pinned Charly with a Tiger suplex.
3) Angélico & Jack Evans b Crazy Boy & Joe Lider
Said to be a very good match. Jack beat Crazy with a 630 senton.
4) Escoria, Fénix, La Parka b Daga, Parka Negra, Pentagón Jr.
Fenix won it for his team, only for Villano V to run in and help the rudos beat up the tecnicos after the match. V5 said his El Toreo team was ready for Parka, Octagon and Electroshock (apparent third man), but did not reveal his partners.
5) Monster Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown b Máscara Año 2000 Jr., Silver King, Villano IV
Parka ran in and attacked Villano IV, setting up the Psycho Clown frog splash and win.
6) Cibernético b el Hijo del Perro Aguayo
Seconds were Daga and Escoria, but both were knocked out. Cibernetico beat Perro with a chokeslam onto chairs. Joaquin and Konnan came to the ring after the match, Perro demanded another fall, but Joaquin said he must wait until TripleMania.

Air Date: 06/02. It could be a double taping. Either this show or Toluca will be, and I’m guessing it’s going to be the Toluca taping. Since Fusion is taping this week, the other matches will either turn up on UTDN or not at all.

We still don’t know who Villano IV’s partners are, but we do have a sense of the AAA team. The main event pretty strongly indicates how the TripleMania main event is going to resolve, though I think that’s the outcome people mostly figured. Same might apply for the tag match.

AAA has a Fusion taping on Sunday, though any big developments might wait until Thursday’s show in Toluca or Tuesday’s press conference. Something going on every two days!

04/27 AAA Evolucion Results (Chilpancingo)

AAA Evolucion (SAT) 04/27/2013 Plaza de Toros Belisario Arteaga, Chilpancingo, Guerrero [AAA]
1) Flamita, Lucky Boy, Niño de Ébano b Apolo Estrada Jr., Carta Brava Jr., El Apache
Apache replaced Dr. Cerebro. Flamita beat Dr. Cerebro.
2) Faby Apache, Jennifer Blake, Octagoncito b La Hechicera, Mini Abismo Negro, Taya Valkyrie
Faby beat Taya with a northern lights suplex.
3) Bugambilia, Mamba, Pasion Kristal b Aerostar, Argenis, Súper Fly
Mamba beat Super Fly with a brainbuster. After the match, Texano hit the ring to declare he was welcoming opening challenges to his title alone. Argenis decided to try his luck again.
4) Texano Jr. b Argenis [AAA HEAVY]
Fifth defense. Texano needed to sneak in a foul this time. Texano kept beating up Argenis after the match and Heavy Metal made the save. Metal asked for a title shot. Texano turned him down, saying saying he took Metal’s hair before (2008, in a CMLL cage match) and Heavy Metal is washed up.
5) Crazy Boy & Joe Lider b Daga & Psicosis
Made no disqualification. Daga beat Lider with a top rope Canadian Destroyer.
6) Fénix, Heavy Metal, La Parka b Chessman, Parka Negra, Pentagón Jr.
Heavy Metal beat Chessman with a casita.
7) Cibernético & El Mesías b el Hijo del Perro Aguayo & Texano Jr.
Tecnicos won when Heavy Metal hit Texano with a guitar.

Air Date: 05/30, 06/06 and 06/13

I’m not that excited about seeing a “washed up” guy who Texano already beat face him for the title at TripleMania. That sure seems to be implication here. That’s closer to a likely thing thing anything else built up here, because there isn’t any sign of an undercard. Guessing Daga defends against a whole group of cruiserweight people including Crazy Boy and Joe Lider, since they keep facing each other, and maybe Axel because he’s around. Add in something along the lines of Mesias vs Blue Demon (and Konnan?) and Atomic Boy vs Apache and you’ve got a suitably random undercard.

Next announced taping is 05/12 in Durango.

05/24 AAA Evolucion Lineup (Tampico)

AAA Evolucion (FRI) 05/24/2013 Auditorio Municipal de Tampico
1) Freelance, Mamba, Saturno vs Carta Brava Jr., Eita, Mike Segura
2) Faby Apache, Flamita, Octagoncito vs Eterno, Mini Charly Manson, Taya Valkyrie
3) Crazy Boy & Joe Lider vs Angélico & Jack Evans
4) Escoria, Fénix, La Parka vs Daga, Parka Negra, Pentagón Jr.
5) Monster Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown vs Máscara Año 2000 Jr., Silver King, Villano IV
6) Cibernético vs el Hijo del Perro Aguayo

Air Date:  05/30, 06/06 and 06/13? The UTDN has to be going at least half Evolucion, if only because they have taped too much TV for it not to be. I am not prepared for a situation where I’m writing about 2 more hours of lucha libre TV a week. The AAA chart has been completely redone, going with what they’ve said about each taping instead of trying to make guesses.

KrisZ found this last night. Poster from SuperLuchas post.

Odds of that main event ending cleanly are 500000000:1.

Villano IV, the Rick Rude of 2013 lucha libre, is apparently the newest member of El Consejo. It’s a definitely a different combination to face the Psycho Circus.

There’s still no giveaways about big TripleMania matches, which means they’re probably either involving people who aren’t around (TNA, Japan, whatever) or just not big matches. Parka and Parka Negra still matched up, Fenix and Pentagon Jr. the same. Those two pairs are on the same brand post TripleMania, so this is just part way in a long run of those matches. Hope they’re good!

Jack Evans! Still in AAA! Oddly fighting tecnicos!

Lots of IWRG participation in the undercard. I believe they’ve been doing WWE-like tryouts before the shows with guys before the DF shows (and maybe other shows), and you can see which ones impressed. Whatever it takes to get Freelance vs Suicida, though I’d prefer to see Red Bird Junior. Saturno didn’t do a tryout, he’s the last QPPLC winner making his TV debut. (A 2013 QPPLC final is going to be very weird, when it turns out half the finalists are already booked on AAA TV.) Eita jumping to AAA instead of going back to Dragon Gate would be very amusing, but this is probably just an extra booking for him. There’s no real consistency with the early match guys on being tecnico or rudo. All these tapings i confusing for a person on the outside trying to make sense of it, but it sure is giving some good people some extra matches.

The Durango taping, which happens two tapings before this one, is the only announced May taping we don’t have a lineup for yet. That’ll probably turn up in the next couple of days.

04/27 AAA Evolucion Lineup (Chilpancingo)

AAA Evolucion (SAT) 04/27/2013 Plaza de Toros Belisario Arteaga, Chilpancingo, Guerrero
1) Flamita, Lucky Boy, Niño de Ébano vs Apolo Estrada Jr., Carta Brava Jr., Dr. Cerebro
2) Fabi Apache, Jennifer Blake, Octagoncito vs La Hechicera, Mini Abismo Negro, Taya Valkyrie
3) Aerostar, Argenis, Súper Fly vs Bugambilia, Mamba, Pasion Kristal
4) Crazy Boy & Joe Lider vs Daga & Psicosis
5) Fénix, Heavy Metal, La Parka vs Chessman, Parka Negra, Pentagón Jr.
6) Cibernético & El Mesías vs el Hijo del Perro Aguayo & Texano Jr.

Air Date: ??? – this fits with the Sin Limite schedule, which would mean airing on 05/04 and 05/11.

Lineup from Aregnis’ Twitter. The lineup mentions six matches, but the last is cut off in the screen shot. I’d figure it’s an Alto Impacto match.

This looks more like a normal taping, name wise, though there again doesn’t seem to be much happening. Mesias does get in the ring for the first time since fighting Demon in Leon, and for the first time since tonight’s title match with Texano. Heavy Metal, Super Fly and La Hechicera all make rare TV appearances.

Crazy Boy & Joe Lider vs Daga & Psicosis is the opposite of rare.

Next taping is 05/12 in Durango

Edit: added opener. Neat to see Carta Brava Jr. get a shot here.

1) ? & ?? vs ??? & ????
Local wrestlers, not listed in the results. One luchador had Batman gear on. After the match, there was a party in ring with kids, clowns, and the Psycho Circus.
2) Jinzo & Lucky Boy b Black Mamba & Yuriko
Hometown win for Jinzo with a 450 splash on Yuriko.
3) Atomic Boy, Faby Apache, La Jarochita b Gran Apache, Sexy Lady, Taya Valkyrie
Atomic pinned Gran Apache again, Gran Apache beat up Atomic after the match again.
4) Crazy Boy & Joe Lider b Eterno & Último Gladiador
Ultimo Gladiador replaced Dr. Cerbero. Eterno wore his IWRG championship (and grabbed Lider’s DTU title to show off as well.) Match was made no disqualification and included tables. Nino Hamburguesa helped out the Mexican Powers. Lider won via Lider Storm.
5) Alan Stone, El Elegido, Toscano b Devil Rocker, Machine Rocker, Soul Rocker
Mirreyes remain undefeated.
6) Drago, Fénix, Octagón b Chessman, Pentagón Jr., Silver King
Fenix frog splashed Chessman for the win.
7) Cibernético, Cuervo, Escoria b Daga, Halloween, Psicosis
Made no disqualification. Ciberneticos said Perro was scared of him and that’s why he wasn’t there.

Air Date: Not sure. The best guess is on UTDN next weekend, but it’s a weak guess.

Nothing of note happened on this show, a peculiar way to start off a brand new show. One of the great strengths of AAA is all their TV feels like it matters, but both the secondary shows – especially the most recent Fusion show and this Evolucion taping  – both feel very secondary and very skippable.

Piero was wearing a referee camera during the show, which is one of those things that gets brought back every few years, used for a couple shows, then disappeared after a couple shows.

Next taping is 04/27 in Chilpancingo, and that’ll be up in an hour.
