Match 1: Hombre Bala Jr. & Súper Halcón Jr. vs Artillero & Súper Comando
Arena Mexico, 08/23/2013

  1. técnicos
  2. rudos
  3. técnicos

Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 11:00
Rating: good
Notes: Referee is Edgar. Edited as usual, though this one looks to have gotten more time than most.

1: Bala and Comando in, Bala stepping over to armdrag Comando away. More mat wrestling leads to a Bala jumping snap mare, and Comando slides out after that. Halcón headscissors Artillero, who chops him back. The Peleton's new gear looks good. Bala comes in to help kick out Artillero. Halcón revers a sunset flip on Comando to send him flying into a Bala fireman's carry powerbomb. Both get their finishes for th quick win.

2: sound jump to start the fall. Halcón spinning armdrag, headstand on the apron escape, and missile dropkick to send Comando out. Comando runs away to his side of the ring before more double teams, which are definitely coming. After a replay, rudos are cheap shotting Halcón, so we missed something. Halcon's backdropped, kicked and headbutts out. Bala tries to charge in, and Comando smartly kicks the ropes ash e goes thru. Comando congratulates that. Sound has become unsynced with the action, which happens here. Comando whips Bala into an Artillero kick on the outside. Artillero flying axhandle to the back. Artillero goes for Bala's mask and only gets warned about it. Bala's held around the ropes, and Comando gives him a boot to the face. Artillero taunts Halcón by holding Bala just out of reach,t hen straight up punches Halcón. Peleton stomped own Bala in the rudo corner, then celebrate it. Artillero headbutts Halcón. Wheelbarrow cutter does it for Halcón. Bala takes a double flapjack, a tapatía and a front cracker by Artillero to finish.

Break! Opener is long enough to have a break!

3: Rudos beat up the técnicos on the outside. Big backdrop for Bala. Halcón's crotched into the post, which is not a DQ this week. Comando ducks a Halcón quebradora but takes a quebradora. We definitely missed some action in here. Halcón brings in Bala for a inverted facelock/dropkick to the face combo. Bala catches Comando in crucifix cradle for two. Comando kicks Bala back into the corner and get into a chop war, which he easily wins. Hard kicks in the corner. Super Comando is having trouble keeping his pants up with his knee belt. Corner whip, reversed, Bala double flying knees into the corner, suplex out, then picking up Comando for an step over armbar. Artillero breaks it up. Suplex, senton, one two NO. Artillero cradle, still no. Artillero puts on the time killing submission so Halcón can dropkick him. Small package for two. Halcón slaps Artillero back into the ropes, whip, dropkick bridging double chickenwing, but Comando breaks the hold up. Comando spinning side slam, one two NO. Comando powerslam, still two. Whip, Halcón reverses into a spinning Rosa, but Artillero breaks that. All four in, rudos clothesline in the tecnicos in opposite corners, then whip the técnicos at each other. Tecnicos reverse, rudos avoid each other, técnicos still place them in position for moves. Bala boots off Halcón for a super front cracker on Super Comando, and Halcón moonsaults Artillero for the other pin. Three counts on both.

Match 2: Ángel de Oro, Guerrero Maya Jr., Titán © vs Misterioso Jr., Taichi ©, Vangellys
Arena Mexico, 08/23/2013

  1. técnicos
  2. rudos
  3. técnicos

Winner: técnicos
Match Time: 8:44
Rating: ok
Notes: Referee is Rafael el Maya

1: This one seems edited at the very beginning. Maya and Misterioso exchange holds on the mat. Announcers decide Taichi has a exotico-like style, but then debate if it's actually more metrosexual. Taichi spends a lot of time fixing his hair, which works either way. Armdrags both ways, Taichi goes for his lethal barrel roll on a leapfrog, Angel de Oro survives. Taichi rolls out and hangs out near the steps. Titan uses his handwalk backflip to leap over a Vangelis kick, then headscissors him into the ropes. Titan's luck goes bad when he jumps into Vangelis' arms and is dropped with a blockbuster suplex. Whip, Maya flips his partner to safety and kicks the rudos away. Oro springboard on Vangelis and Misterioso, then Misterioso boots him into a headscissors on Vangelis. Misterio chops Oro out, and Titan springboard in – no, out with a double springboard tope con giro onto Vangelis. Maya armdrags Misterioso out and bowls him over with a thru the ropes tope con giro. Taichi gets Oro with the high knee and rips off his own pants. Buzzsaw kicks is ducked, high kick ducked, Angel de Oro Skayde Special cradle one two three.

2: Maya wans to face Vangelis. Vangelis and Misterioso both start to come in, then they both stay out, then Misterioso comes in. Maya decides whatever. And goes with it. Misterioso chops Maya down and taunts the técnicos. Maya slaps Misterioso down himself. JCR drops “Guerrero Maya I = Black Terry”, which I thought was still supposed to be top secret. May evades and lands a reverse springboard armdrag. Run up the ropes armdrag sends Misterioso sliding out, and Maya rolls to a pose. Angel de Oro shows off with a flipping run with Taichi, and flips himself to the apron for the Angle de Oro sequence. Moonsault gets two. Taichi headscissorsed out. He's been quite ineffective. Vangelis asks for a handshake from Titan, doesn't get it, and slaps Titan instead. Titan ducks and chops Vangelis many times, and Misterioso runs into help. Vastly illegal. Whip, reversed, Titan flipped to the apron and Vangelis runs him over with the ramp spear. Rudos grab the técnicos and clean up form there.

3: Vangelis hangs Titan on the top rope and kicks him off to the ramp. Taichi adds some stomps. Maya is forearmed as soon as he comes in. Back elbow for him, and a big boot to the chest. Announcers bringing up the TRT failed challenge reminds me that Vangelis does not have a TRT logo today. Rudos chop around Maya. Misterioso repeatedly clotheslines Maya in the corner, holding them with his left and – and pulling off Maya's mask in the process. That should be a DQ. We didn't sew hat Maya was looking at, but it seems he saw it. Maya argues with the rudos a bit, slips past them, checks on Maya on the outside, and calls the DQ. What a weird ending.

Vangelis and Taichi argue with the referee. Fans are unhappy. Taichi attacks Angel de Oro, Titan gets involved, and they switch to a crowd shot. Rudos end up leaving the técnicos laying. Replay of the finish. They don't blur out Guerrero Maya's mask, but they show him from behind this time.

80th Anniversary

Match 3: Marco Corleone, Máximo, Shocker © vs Hiroshi Tanahashi © , Namajague, Puma
Arena Mexico, 08/23/2013

  1. tecnicos
  2. rudos
  3. técnicos

Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 10:14
Rating: ok
Notes: Tanahashi is no Virus or Tiger, but I guess this trio will get by. Monito is with the técnicos. Referee is Tigre Hispano.

1: Puma starts, take one hiptoss from Shocker, and decides to tag out. Good call. Namajague in, but faked out by Shocker's handshakes. Shocker wrestles Namajague down into a crucifix cradle and almost pins him. Rudos decide they might as wells warm Shocker while they still can. They helpfully set up Tanahashi for the Sling Blade on Shocker. Marco in and swing, which goes better with Puma then it does with Tanahashi. Marco dance his way out for a sunset flip, but Puma stops that with his kick combo. Namajague knocks him over with a jumping clothesline. Máximo in, Namajague grabs him and pulls him away, while alerting Puma to stop covering Marco. Tanahashi does a High Fly Flow onto Marco instead for one pin. (Tigre Hispano seems to think Marco is the captain. He is not, and Tigre Hispano eventually keeps working.) It takes a bit of setup, but Tanahashi does the Okumura part of the bulldog/wheelbarrow suplex bit with Namajague on Máximo for the other pin.

Puma legdrops Monito, but they cut to replays before we see Tanahashi do anything. GIF DENIED.

2: Tanahashi punches Máximo in the técnico corner (where no técnicos are currently at.) Tanahashi drags Máximo back tot he rudos for Puma to take over. Maximo immediately reverses the whip, and rolls backwards into the dropkick to the backside. Shocker in, but attacked from behind by Namajague. Whip, double boot, double fake dive. And pose. Marco mocks their pose and does his dance move, which just leads to the rudos attacking him and kicking him questionably low. Tanahashi is just an observer. Marco is too hurt to dance. Maximo whipped into the corners, Namajague clothesline lands, Tanahashi corner splash misses and Máximo gets in the kiss. Tanahashi is horrified, then Marco punches everyone out. Shocker kicks everyone. Marco off the apron clothesline on Tanahashi is nearly missed by the camera, but not missed by Marco. Técnicos wrap up.

80th Anniversary.

3: Puma and Shocker exchange chops, with Namajague blowing on Puma's chest to help him out. Puma's chops have limited effect on the much heavier Shocker. Puma's shoulderblock can't put Shocker down, and then Shocker just starts armdragging him. Quebradora, and Puma crawls out. Namajague all over on Shocker with punches, head down too soon and kicked. Shocker clothesline Namajague. Tanahashi in, and he actually gets in some offense before missing a corner charge. Shocker faceslams Tanahashi, blocked everything and flips him over on a double chop. Shocker struts around. Marco meats Tanahashi chops with punches. Tanahashi is able to force Marco into the corner, and Namajague helps stomp him down. Marco gets his punch springboard clothesline comeback on the two Japanese. Puma jumps in, and is knocked out immediately. Marco flexes in ways that impress the girls and Máximo. Maximo gets the best of Namajague and topes him hard. Rudos end Marco out on the apron and Puma dropkicks Tanahashi by mistake. Shocker stunner on Puma, Tanahashi dropkicks Puma by mistake, quebradora for Tanahashi. Marco Aero Italiano on both, one two three.

They tease all strutting after the match, but Máximo does not. Replays, including a Máximo kiss on Namajague edited out before.
