Match 1: Molotov & Sensei vs Apocalipsis & Inquisidor
Arena Mexico, 07/09/2013

  1. rudos

  2. técnicos
  3. técnicos

Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 10:11
Rating: below average
Notes: Why? Your referee is Pompin.

1: Pairs are Sensei/Inquisidor and Molotov/Apocalipsis. Crowd makes a minimal amount of noise. Inquisidor lifts Sensei on his shoulders the second time thru, and Apocalipsis missile dropkicks him off for the pin. Inquisidor may have been trying a different move or may have messed up the Pólvora Driver.

2: Apocalipsis starts to make fun of Sensei but won't commit to it. Inquisidor does moves. Rudos slowly feed themselves into a headscissors/armdrag combo by Molotov after 2.5 minutes. Molotov follows with a flip off the ropes, but can't stick the landing. Sensei takes it home. Fans can barely bother to boo, but they find a way.

3: Short Molotov and Sensei showcase sequences and the end game. Sensei does the old karate/new Dorada escapes, but gets kicked going for a dive. Inquisidor blocks a Molotov kick and gets in a normal front cracker, but that's somehow not the finish. Crucifix cradle also gets two, and then Inquisidor does the fail leg lock to be small packaged for three. Sensei and Apocalipsis also do near falls nor no real reason before Sensei gets the submission.

Match 2: Dalis la Caribeña, Estrellita, Luna Mágica vs La Vaquerita, Tiffany, Zeuxis
Arena Mexico, 07/09/2013

  1. tecnicas

  2. rudas
  3. rudas

Winner: rudas (2-1)
Match Time: 15:31
Rating: below average
Notes: Referee is Bestia Negra.

1: Match starts with Dalis/Estrellita. Estrellita busies herself bending over in front of the camera during the opening exchange. Estrellita is not a subtle person, but she's very unsubtle here. Not the only one, various women in this match do not seem to have very secure outfits. Vaquerita will not let Dalis have the edge at the end and gets into a slapping/shoving fit. As punishment, she has to wrestle Estrellita too. Estrellita and Zeuxis reverse the same whip three times, and chase each other around like goofballs. Zeuxis takes a Luna DDT right on her head. Luna remains the master of the bottom rope springboard and all around awkwardness. Luna whiffs on what was supposed to be a faceslam on Tiffany. More awkwardness with Estrellita and Vaquerita, then the técnicas just submit the rudas.

2: Lots of people tagging out to avoid each other to start. That's fine, less wrestling. Rudas trip up Luna to start the beatdown. Zeuxis gets in her double knee smash on Dalis, goes for another, Dalis escapes and does it herself. Tiffany ash to make the save. Vaquerita sets up Estrellita for a Zeuxis figure four, and that's it.

3: Plenty of kicks. Estrellita just keeps rolling to try and get away from the rudas, and the rudas were almost hapless enough to let it work. Zeuxis and Vaquerita do the casadora splash bit, though it's missing some snap. They also team up for a Zeuxis boosted knee smash to Luna's face. Tiffany and Zeuxis set up the same spot with Dalys, do it as slow as possible, and Dalis nearly misses her cue to do a headscissors instead. Estrellita topes Zeuxis, ignoring the dive ban. Luna does a bad flip into a Tiffany powerbomb, Tiffany decides to put on an armscissors to make it look better, and about falls into Vaquerita's finish.

Match 3: Máscara Dorada, Rey Cometa, Stuka Jr. vs Namajague, Rey Bucanero, Tiger
Arena Mexico, 07/09/2013

  1. técnicos

  2. rudos
  3. técnicos

Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 11:03
Rating: good
Notes: Referee is Pompin.

1: pairs are Cometa/Bucanero (not totally smooth with each other), Dorada/Tiger (Namajague breaking up things before they could progress until Dorada dropkicked him off the apron and toped him.) Stuka quickly drops Tiger in front of the corner, where Cometa is already waiting for the 450 splash. Stuka quickly finishes Bucanero.

2: Stuka gets in the offense he missed out on the first fall, including Bucanero taking the monkey flip. Cometa headscissors Tiger around and chases him outside for a quebradora on the floor. Namajague spears Dorada and lands punches and stomps. Namajague works over Dorada and hands him to his partners for a double boot. Stuka gets in some shots on Namajague before the rudos turn it around. Namajague hurts his hands on the double chop. Wheelbarrow frontcracker on Cometa is strong enough to knock his bandanna off (or Tiger just yanks it off by accident, but that's not as fun.)

Stuka comes in next, survives long enough to tag in Dorada, even though that's probably not the plan. Rudos get rid of Dorada while Bucanero submits Stuka.

3: Rudos start in control, but not for long. Namajague misses a corner charge and throws himself out. Comet a headscissors Tiger, Dorada springboard dropkick Bucanero, Stuka does the deadman's tope onto Namajague, Cometa running tornillo onto Tiger, and Dorada top rope moonsault onto Bucanero. Dorada and Namajague make it back in, Dorada landing a springboard reverse plancha for two, but being pulled out by the other rudos before he can do more. Namajague goes for a dive, but the other técnicos get him. Namajague manage to double chop both Stuka and Comet at the same time, and Tiger and Bucanero take them out with dives. Dorada and Namajague back in, Dorada with a spin into a reverse casadora cradle for two, Namajague grabs the ropes. Namajague grabs Dorada in waistlock, shoves him off into the ref, fouls Dorada, and covers him for the win.

Match 4: Averno vs Titán for the Mexican National Welterweight Championship
Arena Mexico, 07/09/2013

  1. Averno sit down powerbomb (3:04)

  2. Titan Torito (3:18)

  3. Averno pin (11:40)

Winner: Averno
Match Time: 18:02
Rating: great
Notes: As shown in the bumper before the match, Averno wears the welterweight title to the ring and Titan wears his new trios title. Titan weighs in at 77.5 kg with Mascara Dorada as his second. Averno weighs in at 78 kg with his father Rodolfo Ruiz as his second. Referee is Bestia Negra.

1: Battle over armbars and leglocks to kip ups and a faceoff. Armdrags lead to another standoff. Evasion, Titan flips himself to the apron, swing kicks Averno away, and springboard back in with a headscissors. Titan wastes no time – tope con giro onto Averno. Replays. Avernos struggles back in first, Titan springboard in, after him, Averno blocks it into a powerbomb, and then pulls him up for a sit down one. That's enough for the pin.

2: Averno knocks down Titan right away with a back elbow. Big spinebuster out of the corner, and an elbow drop to follow for a two count. Averno flapjacks Titan, poses, then covers for two. Crowd loud for Titan as Averno kicks him to the ramp. Averno backs up on the ramp, runs, boot deflected, and Titan lands his own headscissors to send Averno flying to the floor. Titan back sup the ramp, runs and leaps over the crowd for a big tope con giro. Replay. Titan is up but limping. Averno is not up for a while, but makes it back in time. Titan torito, one two three. Titan celebrates, while grabbing his low back.

3: Averno stalls on the outside, but clotheslines Titan as he comes back in. Corner whip, Titan kips up and flips out, Titan runs back to the corner and kips into a headscissors. Walking up the corner five bounce headscissors sends Averno to the ropes, and a running up the corner leaping DDT on the apron takes them both to the floor. Both make it back in. Titan kicks caught, but he spins backwards into a casadora cradle for two and a half. Both guys slow up but firing themselves up. Titan off the ropes, huracanrana, two count. Averno grabs Titan's legs, but doesn't put on a hold. Crowd is behind Titan, though not loud. Averno kicks Titan in the corner misses the corner charge and titan pulls out the stunner over the ropes. That still sets up the headstand rope flip moonsault, but Averno is up way early and knocks Titan to the floor. Averno poses, kind of mocking Titan's pose. Titan positions himself on the floor. Averno out to the apron, Titan senton con giro off the apron onto Titan. Averno throws Titan back in and cover, one two NO. Averno grabs Titan by the head and calls for the end. Devil's Wings – no, Titan turns out and puts on a fujiwara armbar! That didn't look clear on the way down, but the fans get into it as Titan has the hold applied. Averno moves to the ropes, stops, moves a little closer, can't reach, and finally can reach. Titan sets up Averno on the middle rope, backs up, charges, Averno shoves him off Titan tries to come up again, Averno kicks Titan way, Titan fires back with the backflip kick. Titan poses, then goes to the apron – springboard moonsault to the floor, taking them both out. Averno makes it back in first, Titan springboard over him for a sunset flip, Averno rolls thru, turns Titan over, grabs both legs, grabs both arms, and rolls it back for la tapatia. Rudo announcers are so happy. Titan breaks free, turns it around, locks the legs, locks the hands, and puts on his own tapatía. Rudo announcers are so unhappy. Titan rolls it back, double pin, one two both gets their shoulders up. Crowd louder for Titan now, but they die out before the luchadors get back up. Titan reverse wristlock bridging cradle, only two. Titan dropkicks Averno in the knee, casita, Averno rolls free, Averno casita one two NO. Both guys are tired. Titan runs into Averno, off the ropes, evasion, Titanics cradle (with thumb across the throat) one two NO. Crowd loud again as they both get up, though it seems to be an Averno chant there. Titan headscissors Averno out, takes a breath, off the ropes, tope and Averno throws him into the barricade. That was on camera side, the short side rudo fans are thrilled. Replays from multiple angles. First row fans were scared for their life. The doctor and Dorada check on titan, while Averno gloats. Avernos shoves Dorada away, scoops Titan up on his shoulders, throws him back in, and cuts his throat. Laying down pin one two three.

Titan appears to be out, and Dorada waves for the stretcher. Averno gets his belt put on. Averno celebrates while Titan's carried to the back. Dorada puts up a bit of a protest

History: Negro Casas, who says he was inspired by a Sangre Chicana vs Perro Aguayo hair match in this building and making his debut here in a tournament for the Mexico City lightweight title.

Stellar Moments

La Llave: Chololock on Sensei

La Tecnica: Marcela fisherman's buster on Seductora

El Triunfo: Mascara campana on Dragon Rojo while Thunder jackhammered Pólvora and Azul dived onto Niebla.

El Tope: Máximo on Rey Escorpion

Lo Alevoso: Rush fouls Shocker

Match 5: Atlantis, Máximo, Thunder vs Mr. Niebla, Niebla Roja, Pierroth
Arena Mexico, 07/09/2013

  1. técnicos

  2. técnicos

Winner: técnicos (2-0)
Match Time: 9:48
Rating: below average
Notes: The minis and the women lead out Pierroth. Mr. Niebla is using the “What A Rush” Road Warriors clip, that must still be in the system from Groon XXX and StrongMan. Zacarias is with Niebla, and they're both in Hulk colors. Referee is Tirantes.

1: Entrances took up five minutes, and the rudos stall for the half of another. That's fine. Averno and Pierroth trade holds as Mr. Niebla messes around with the crowd. Pierroth is not good with armdrags. Niebla Roja stalls and walks out rather than deal with Máximo. Roja returns for the usual, the rudos have had enough of that and beat up the técnicos. Rudos untie Thunder's mask and hit him with Pierroth's belt. Corner charges for Atlantis. Spanking ands belt shots for Máximo. Rudos move Thunder from one corner to another corner, hitting and chopping him all the way. Niebla does his dance, which allows time for Thunder to power back to life. Thunder choke lifts Niebla to the top rope, gives him Zacarias and knocks them both over the top rope. Rudos double shoulderblocks Thunder out though Thunder's not very good at that. Other técnicos wrap it up.

2: Atlantis works a simple style and you'd think Pierroth would have no problem with that, but Pierroth can't take a monkey flip and isn't really in position for the dropkick that sends him out (which actually mean it he takes it harder.) Armdrags and kisses for Niebla Roja, Máximo pulling up the rudo's mask to make sure it counts. Mr. Niebla and Zacarias shove each other to fight Thunder. Niebla stalls, pointing around to get a reaction. Thunder leapfrogs and misses clothesline, but turns into the chokeslam. Pierroth and Thunder have a bad clothesline spot that the cameras luckily miss. Chokeslam for Niebla Roja, Thunder driving Niebla Roja into the mat. Mr. Niebla turns Thunder around, fouls him, takes his mask, and celebrates. So do I, this one is over.

Announcers wrap it up and talk about next week's trios main event.
