AAA on UTDN #77 (04/25/2013)
Recapped: 04/26/13

Previously: Atomic Boy vs Gran Apache. Bugambilia vs Mamba? 20 seconds of that, about 10 seconds of the really good trips match. Jennifer's a técnico. Perros vs Cibernético, where it looks like Cibernético won.

Announcers hype Los Mirreyes. Well, one of them is excited about them. Talk about the main as well.

Mexican Power Comic Book: Niño Hamburgesa continues to work out hard. And also work hard to sneak food. Crazy Boy tells him he's got choose between foods and food, and he chooses to smush up the sandwich.

Blue Demon Jr. heads to the ring. He says hi to the people, and says tonight is a night of surprises. He's got a surprise for the fans, but continues sucking up to them first. Demon reveals he's signed a contract with AAA. He didn't do it for the money, he did it for his fans. That does get the fans to chant for him. Demon introduces a friend – Axel, Nieto del Santo. Axel is very excited to be there and slaps everyone's hands. Axel says Blue Demon Sr. and El Santo are the greatest legends of lucha libre and, even those he's nervous, he has the right to call himself El Nieto del Santo. Announcers throw in a “like it or not!” catchphrase directed at someone who's not watching. Axel asks Marisela for a chance to join the promotion, he wants to face the best they have to offer. They're interrupted from saying any more by Daga's music, and he brings his cruiserweight belt to the ring. Daga introduces himself to Axel, what a polite man. They may be the Nieto del Santo and the Son of Blue Demon – people cut Daga off, and Daga insults them. Daga does get distracted by them. Daga says Santo and Demon are names of the past and not important now, and Daga's the best pound for pound wrestler of his generation. Demon insults Daga. Axel is upset Daga doesn't show the legends enough respect and does not respect Daga. Axel demands a singles match for the title. Daga is not interested. He's not a mummy or a vampire, but he does have a present, and attacks Axel. Break.

Upcoming Lineup – new graphics!

04/27: Chilpancingo
05/12: Duango
05/17: Puebla
06/16: TripleMania

Axel and Daga are tussling as Joaquin Roldan walks to the ring, completely unconcerned. Demon doesn't seem to mind. Security finally arrives to break them up and hold them in the corners. Joaquin, with a belt, says he's happy to have two continuers of legends in the ring, and shakes Demon and Axel's hands. To welcome Demon into the promotion, Joaquin announces the formation of the “Leyenda Azul” trophy. He said it wrong, that's why everyone was confused. Daga is still trying to break away from security. Joaquin fines Daga cartoon money, threatens to suspend him, and says he can do so because Dorian and Konnan don't exist in the promotion. Cue Konnan's music. Probably should talk to your wife, Joaquin. What is the shirt Dorian Roldan is wearing? He seems thinner, good for him. Daga's let free at this point while Konnan insults everyone. Konnan declares himself the surprise. That must've been some phone call. Konnan says he's returning to the ring and will destroy all the AAA técnicos, and the mariachis, and Chavo de Ocho. NOT CHAVO DE OCHO. Joaquin tells Konnan to lay off the tequila. Demon says the people are behind him, Konnan says the people are dumb. Demon gets in Konnan's face and knocks off his cap – if Konnan's coming back in three months, Demon will be waiting for him. Dorian says the only legend in AAA is Antonio Pena. Dorian hypes Daga and unsuspended him, then hypes Konnan and says he'd beat Demon easily. Demon rushes Dorian, security runs in again, and they only really get Daga. Dorian runs away from Demon. Joaquin tells the rudos to lave, the rudos leave, security holds Demon back again. Dorian gets a microphone and taunts the técnicos and this is finally over.

(The Televisa version edited some pauses out of the técnico promos, and vastly cut down Daga, Konnan and Dorian's speeches.)

Match 1: Faby Apache, Jennifer Blake, Lolita vs Mary Apache, Sexy Lady, Taya Valkyrie
Domo de la Feria de Leon, 04/15/2013

Winner: tecnicas
Match Time: 10:54
Rating: good
Notes: Jennifer is Red Riding Hood. Or at least has one. Fabi has new gear, and wears the belt around her upper body. Is she still supposed to be dating Cuervo? Feels like months since that went nowhere. I think Fabi lightened her hair. All the important info! Referee is Hijo del Tirantes.

Sexy Lady and Lolita start. Sexy Lady quickly complains about a hair pull on an armdrag, which makes me wonder how Lolita wrestles with a tie and no one ever grabs it. Sexy Lady gets a moment of advantage with a high kick, and Lolita comes back with headscissors of varying quality. Jennifer demands to fight Taya. Taya comes in, and then Mary comes in and kicks Jennifer in the face. Oops! Jennifer fights back with a loose headscissors and a tricks the rudas into hitting each other. Jennifer huracanrana has looked better, but a bulldog/dropkick spot to end the sequence looks good. Break.

Upcoming events.

Crowd behind Faby. She suffers thru some Taya kicks, and one dropkick sends the ruda out. Faby and Tirantes have their teased argument very early, and it distracts Faby enough for the rudas to attack. 3 on 1s, though the rudas have trouble getting one in or being much organized to start. They get it together, giving Lolita a giant swing dropkick thing (that causes Taya, the swinger, to fall down.) Jennifer slips in an armdrag on Mary and gets Taya to hit Sexy to start the comeback. It's a bit chaotic and including a Jennifer bicep pose after something on Mary. Rudas regroup on the outside. Sexy Lady shows off a Northern Lights suplex on Faby for a two count. Faby fights back with many kicks to the backside. Mary puts down her sister with a big clothesline, but tosses her into a pescado on her partner. Lolita and Mary have a bad looking hesitation bit, but it's probably was not on them and more waiting for the people to get up. Mary waves Lolita by for her thru the ropes tope con giro. Mary goes out to check on everyone. Jennifer runs into the pile with a tope. Taya almost looses her balance climbing up, but does pull off the moonsault to the floor. Above seems like the worst way to show it, but that's how they go. Jennifer, Sexy and Mary make it back in, the two rudas double teaming the técnicas. Drop toe hold, dropkick to the back. Jennifer sits up, only to take Mary's ax kicks of doom. Jennifer ducks a double clothesline, and Faby missile dropkicks the rudas. Mary out, and Jennifer spears Sexy. Catapult into a crab, and Sexy Lady gives. Good finish.

Recap of Los Mirreyes formation angle. This video package remembers when Toscano was feuding with Silver King about the Consejo, which is actually relevant to the next match. Video package does confirm it was Elegido who Toscano was talking with all along. A much shorter version of this was shown on Televisa.

Match 2: Alan Stone, El Elegido, Toscano vs Argos, Máscara Año 2000 Jr., Silver King
Domo de la Feria de Leon, 04/15/2013

Winner: Los Mirreyes
Match Time: 13:56/8:07 on Televisa
Rating: ok
Notes: The técnicos have a dance together. Their gear doesn't match as much as you'd think for a new group. Alan Stone is back to his Intocable gear, while Toscano is wearing Hector Garza tiny trunks. They bring women in the ring for lap dances. Consejo enter together, with Tirantes. What happened to the monkey? Rudos jump técnicos.

Consejo overwhelm Los Mirreyes and turn it into 3 on 1s. Corner charges for Toscano. Elegido ducks under one head kick, takes the next, and an Argos dropkick to the back. Alan takes corner charges, then tis tossed up for a superbomb. Alan fights it and tries a huracanrana, Máscara blocks it (but almost looses Alan – the other rudos have to catch him and put him back up) and gives Alan a superbomb. Rudos bring in Elegido, kick him a bit, and run around to pose in front of him. Elegido soon lands a double clothesline to start the comeback, with the tecnicos hitting big moves and the rudos bumbling. Some brawling around ringside, and match settles down to Argos and Elegido in. Argos mocks Elegido's dancing, and Elegido responds with a chop. Elegido headscissors Argos is just weird. Camera focuses on Argos while Elegido starts to dance, which is not smart. Elegido doing a fireman's carry escape armdrag on Argos makes no sense. Mascara gets his turn to be armdragged by Elegido and Elegido dances his way out. Toscano in, Silver King in, the big feud that started this breakup, and Toscano wants to face Mascara Año 2000 Jr. instead. Actually, Toscano brings in all the rudos and dances in front of them, which goes poorly. He does make the 1 on 2 comeback on Mascara and Silver, including a bit where he runs across the ring five times to set up an armdrag. I think that was comedy. Toscano one man boost dropkick sends Silver King out to end his sequence. Alan Stone seems to have lightened his hair as well – maybe he and Faby went to he same place. The Mirreyes seem to have been told to dance as much as possible. The women like it. Alan responds to a shoulderblock by dancing, Alan follows a DDT on Silver King by dancing. Alan gives Mascara and Argos an armdrag at the same time, then is given credit for reversing a Silver King powerbomb into a faceslam but it's not so good. The announcers, who are probably not watching this match for the first time, think the Silver King powerbomb worked at first. Alan Stone headscissors Argos out, teases a dive, holds up for no obvious reason, Elegido runs into dropkick Máscara of the other way, and Alan Stone dives on to him instead, while Elegido dives onto Argos. They change cameras during the dive, and never catch the Elegido one. Toscano and Silver King left in, and have a big chop battle where it seems like Toscano might be upset abut the whole Consejo thing for the first time this match. Toscano off the ropes a few times again, this time caught into a powerslam. Silver gives Toscano a middle rope hanging DDT for a two count. Silver King slams Toscano, misses a springboard moonsault. Guys on the outside are occasionally fighting. Toscano casadora cradle into his bridging cover for the pin.

Perro vs Cibernético feud recap

Match 3: Cuervo, Escoria, Espíritu, Ozz vs Daga, el Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Halloween, Psicosis
Domo de la Feria de Leon, 04/15/2013

Winner: técnicos
Match Time: 12:49
Rating: ok
Notes: Escoria is wearing red, while the rest of his team wears black. Piero is referees. Halloween and Daga have their title belts, Psicosis has his stapler and the Perros are in no hurry to actually get to the ring. A random woman is with the Perros, and Perro attempts to pull up her dress a bit before he's told no. Perros attack Secta before the match starts. Match is announced as no disqualification.

Perro dumps a beer out on his mouth, then jumps into the crowd. That's a not great combination, but the rest of the rudos are handling things themselves. Security rushes over to keep up with Perro, who is attacking Cuervo with a chair not the crowd, takes the fight up a short wall to battle into the bleachers. There's ladders and tables at ringside, with ringside people bringing them out as the match is going. Psicosis brings Escoria the other way, and suplexes him on the stage. Perro wanders over there to hit Escoria in the back with a chair. A wood panel is set up in the ring, and and Halloween spears Ozz into it, but it doesn't break. Halloween quickly picks Ozz up and powerbombs him into the wood, which still does not break. Poor Ozz. Daga and Psicosis just watch as Halloween makes an annoyed gesture. Meanwhile, Perro is pull off parts of the actual set to use, as if there's not enough, throws some chairs at Escoria, then kisses his bicep. Cuervo's brought in and backdropped into the wood panel, and still it wont' break. (Cameras don't catch the bump clearly.) Rudos set up Cuervo again, and are finally able to put someone thru the wood panel on the fourth time. Crowd likes the violence and has no problems with it falling to work – it's working just fine for them. Perro brings in a ladder and his men set up something, though takes time and Daga goes out to beat up people in the meantime. Sort of a table off ladder set up and Escoria is lifted up to Perro for a superbomb, but Perro looks at the crowd instead and Halloween has to pull Escoria back down and kill time time. Perro looks unsteady, but the powerbomb goes OK. Perros all do the Tijuana strut. Espiritu gets ah old of Daga, but Psicosis breaks that up. Halloween repossess a camera to shot Perro Leaning into the crowd and getting mobbed by fans. Tecnicos are mostly laying around hurt. Ladder is set up in the corner, and the Perros set up a Cuervo whip, but first Perro has to run around teasing throwing a t-shirt to the crowd. Crowd has been loud, cools of a bit after the t-shirt is tossed. Perro tries to corner whip Cuervo himself, Cuervo turns it around, and Perro goes rolling back first into the ladder. Secta revenge brawling, including Escoria immediately throwing a chair at Perro's head. Lots of chairs shots around, but Escoria most of all going after Perro Jr.. Perro somehow gets the chair and smashes Escoria in the knee. Espiritu breaks it up before it it goes father and gets his own revenge chair shots. Security people frantically clean up the broken materials. Cuervo throws Perro into the crowd. All the other Perros are sat in the ropes, facing out, and the Secta all dropkick them form behind at the same time. It doesn't make for much of a bump, but the Perro slide out, and then decide it's time to talk out. Perro Jr. returns to yell at the cameraman. Perro throws down a security person so he can pose in the corner of the ringside area with the fans again. Perros wanders around ringside like a fool, and taunts Marisela Pena. Almost everyone else turns it into a normal match, which seems out of place with the rest of the match. Psicosis leaves for the back for some reason and returns, and Perro continues to wander around, now breaking balloons. Espiritu gets in offense on Daga, and Daga gives Espiritu a top rope Canadian Destroyer in the midst of all this. It gets a normal two count. No one's really paying attention to him and it's not the finish, not quite time for that. Ozz Driver on Daga, two count, Perro is way late in breaking it up with a dropkick, Perro lands on Daga and doesn't really come close to touching Ozz, Ozz sells it anyway. Tables have been set up at ringside, while people try to repair the parts of the set Perro previously destroyed. Ozz dropkick Perro out and calls for his Ozz tornillo which is a poor idea. Ozz does a pescado instead, and leaps into a reckless Perro chair thrown chair to the face. Cuervo misses a corner charge, but still manges to give a charging Halloween a chair shot to the face. Two count. Halloween gets a waistlock and runs Cuervo to the ropes, where Perro has a chair. This looks like the spot where the técnico ducks and the rudo hits hits partner by mistake, but Perro hesitates, then hits Cuervo. Halloween makes a gesture – it seems like frustration at first, but maybe it's just a signal to drag Cuervo over to the table, because Halloween doesn't hesitate climbing the turnbuckle. Halloween top rope splash punctures the table in many places and bends it, but does not break it. That looked extremely painful. Perro jumps up on the apron and backs up, as if setting up something, and nothing happens. Behind him, Psicosis throws a chair at Escoria in the ring to knock him down and apparently out. Psicosis sets up the chair, and gives Escoria a hiptoss thru it. Doctors are out to heck on guys. Perro tosses the stapler to Escoria, who staples Escoria a few times. Perro comes in and this Escoria with a chair, then leaves. Psicosis tries to stand up a chair, but it's broke. Escoria immediately gets up and throws the chair in Psicosis face as he climbs up. Escoria puts another chair on top of Psicosis, goes up, and lands a 450 splash onto the chair. One two three. Pin is counted while someone is strechered out. It turns out to be Halloween, by process of elimination.

Perro stalks the camera on the outside while everyone else lays around hurt. It's good to be Perro Aguayo Junior. Perro taunts the fans. Music guy stops playing the Secta music and starts playing the Perros music just as Escoria's getting his arm raised, which seems like a screw up. It's actually Someone In An Axel Mask running in. Not sure why Axel would have this music, but this is not Axel unless he changed out of his suit into street clothes for no reason. The music is kind of advertising something is up before it happens, and Axel hits Espiritu with a chair then gives Escoria an inverted brainbuster. Psicosis grabs Axel, and takes his mask off – it's Ricky Marvin. Crowd doesn't react at all, which is kind of sad but not a huge surprise. Mystery blond who's not Taya walks out to pose with the Perros. Psicosis announces Ricky as the Gran Surprisa (and he gets a little more reaction when his name is mentioned. Perro welcomes him and moves onto challenging Perro thru the camera. Perro's speech just sort of ends.
