Match 1: El Mesías vs Heavy MetalLa ParkaParka NegraOctagónPentagón Jr. in a AAA's Rey de Reyes Tournament match and in a tournament semifinal match
Plaza de Toros La Monumental, Monterrey, 03/17/2013

Winner: Mesias
Match Time: 14:39
Rating: ok
Notes: Parka Negra has an entrance video, and a robe that blows in the win. It's a bit windy. Referee is Copetes, though Piero is at ringside for reasons unexplained. This is now Group 1 for reasons left unexplained.

Heavy Metal and Mesías start with a handshake. Everyone else goes to a corner while they start on the mat. Metal gets more annoyed with Mesías as they go along, but it doesn't really go anywhere, and they go to break just after Metal has an armbar and tags out to Parka Negra.

Upcoming lineups.

Mesías tags in Parka, for the big face off. La Parka is so angry, he dances. Parka Negra dropkicks him. Chops. Whip, Parka Negra misses a few times, Parka is the world's most obvious thigh slapper on a kneelift. Knee didn't comes close to Parka Negra either. Pentagon comes in to help with the rudo bumbling and La Parka takes them both out. Octagon comes in to do all his usual spots on Pentagon Jr. Crucifix roll up gets two, Pentagon Jr. kicking out because Parka Negra was slow breaking it up. This puts the rudos in control, some how, and they take turns dong flying sits on Octagon. Pentagon Jr. goes all the way up for a low blow dropkick, both guys cover, three count.

Metal in, his turn to get 1 on 2 offense, though he somehow wipes himself out on his own Heavy Punch. (Maybe Parka Negra tripped him falling down?) Metal seems to be in good condition. Pentagon stops him with a kick to the hamstring, just as the Heavy Metal chant really gets going. Pentagon Jr. gets in his Sling Blade move, but has not plan to really follow up. Stomps, yelling at the crowd. Chops into the corner. Corner whip, Pentagon Jr. charge in, Metal moves out of the way, Pentagon this the corner, Metal slaps him tin the back, Pentagon Jr. heel kick fouls him anyway. Crowd reacts, wrestlers really do not. Pentagon and Metal repeat the corner whip miss spot and Metal gets the reverse waistlock roll up to nothing this time. Casita, one two three. That was flat, but the crowd still reacts for the pin.

Mesías immediately dropkick Metal, which gets him booed. Metal sets up for a powerbomb, has trouble getting Metal up, has lots of trouble, and lets him back down. Metal turns into an anklelock, which is a much better idea than the last repeat spot. Bet they'll repeat this one too. Metal grabs his head and as he gets up, hair in front of his face, and Mesías gets the idea to spear him. It's a nice spear. Mesías does another one, then pins Metal for the win. They didn't repeat!

Mesías gets up, but La Parka is already punching Parka Negra in the face. Mesias helps him. Parka Negra, the outnumbered rudo (?!?) fights back but the técnico overwhelm him. Corner whip, la charge in, misses a clothesline, parka Negra kicks Mesías in the face, and big boot Parka in the face. Parka Negra cover on La Parka, one two NO. Whip, clothesline misses by Negra, does not miss by Blanca. Mesías goes up, top rope splash is at an odd angle (Negra not positioned correctly) and Mesías lands awkwardly with more of forearm to face. Parka helps him cover for the pin.

Mesías and La Parka face off. Crowd seems chanting Mesías' name more. They go face to face, nod, and start a punch battle. Parka wins, and starts dancing to mixed reaction. A lot of mixed reaction, lots of different parts of the crowd being herd and not in unison. Whip, Mesías slides under a leapfrog, and pops up to land an enziguri. Mesías charges into a Parka, boot, and Parka give him a dancing elbow driver for two. Mesías punches Park, off the ropes, dropped chest fist on the mat. Parka covers one two NO. Both rest, Mesías in the corner. Parka charges, Mesías moves, Parka bounces out and Mesías gives him the Straight To Hell. One two NO. Both slow up, Parka turns his back on Mesías, Mesías backcracker, cover one two three.

Parka seems disappointed, but congratulates Mesías on the win. They hug.

Classico: Heavy Metal vs Electroshock from Rey de Reyes 2011. Not recapping this one again. Metal and Electroshock talk a bunch about the match and are great friends, even though are eager to compare scars from where the other cut them. Metal talks about the classic battle they had (every one which ended with a guitar shot to the head.) They end up showing only about 3 minutes of the match, but plenty of the post match including a La Socidead invasion.

Match 2: LA Park vs Jack EvansVillano IVPsicosisDragoChessman in a AAA's Rey de Reyes Tournament match and in a tournament semifinal match
Plaza de Toros La Monumental, Monterrey, 03/17/2013

Winner: LA Park
Match Time: 11:20
Rating: okay/good
Notes: Psicosis has new music? Or just non-Perros del Music, I think he's sued this a couple times. He has the stapler. Crowd is happy to see LA Park. Villano IV is using an absurdly great remixed Pink Panther song, and has an entrance graphic. This is Group 2. Rudos jump the técnicos this time, and apparently LA Park is a rudo today. Referee is Tirantes, with Piero escorting guys to the back after they've been eliminated.

Rudos clear out everyone but Drago, Psicosis lifting Drago up for a Park frontcracker. V4 trips up Park up form outside, and Chessman dropkicks him for no apparent reason. Drago comes in, Chessman kicks him in the face back out. Jack comes in and spins toe kicks him in the face. Lighting is really weird - the ring lights have not over taken the fading natural light, and everyone looks yellow. Jack kicks Psicosis away, and headscissors Chessman. Psicosis boots Jack into a sport of moonsault tornillo senton on Chessman's legs. Psicosis dropkicks Jack out, and Chessman sees himself out, so Villano IV comes into face Psicosis. All sorts of WCW flashbacks going on here. They struggle, V4 does a step over headscissors, then forgets a spot, then a spinning armdrag to send Psicosis out. Drago dropkicks V4 out, rolls over LA Park's back and headscissors him. Park flips Drago to the apron, does his strut, Drago forearms him away, Drago top rope plancha caught, and Parka struts again. Crowd missed. Park sets Drago the top rope and patronizingly pats him into on the check before strutting away. Drago takes a moment to get set, but headscissors Park out. Running tornillo takes Park out. Psicosis superkicks Chessman back, charges and Psicosis is tossed into a tope con giro on the others. Chessman Asai moonsault! V4 old man tope! Jack left in, poses and then pulls off his springboards tope con giro onto everyone. Everyone down on the floor. Drago and Psicosis back in, counters lead to Psicosis kneeling and Drago kicking him in the head. Drago off the ropes, flipping armdrag into a cradle, and Psicosis is done.

Chessman in, blocking a Drago ranita into a powerbomb. Chessman holds Drago near the ropes, and Psicosis staples him from outside. Tirantes looks around to see what he should be distracted by. Atlantida into a front backbreaker, and Drago is done.

V4 in, and kicking down a running Chessman with a headbutt. V4 off the ropes, but slow so Jack is able to spin toe kick him. Viva Mexico moonsaults tornillo senton. V4 off the ropes, into a clothesline. V4 clothesline misses, Jack back with a 'rana, no, V4 powerbomb, one two three. I disagree with that result.

LA park slip in and past V4, dropping him with an elbow driver. Park up top, which the crowd seems unsure about. Chessman trips up Park up, so it's not happening anyway. Chessman goes up instead – moonsault misses. One two NO. Villano IV off the ropes, plancha caught and slammed. Chessman elbow drop one two NO. Chessman scoops up Villano, holds him there, and LA Park hits Chessman in the back with a chair shot. Tirantes was looking right at it that time. Chessman falls over, V4 turns it into a cradle and gets the pin.

LA Park holds onto the chair, waiting for V4 to get up. Park goes to swing, but Tirantes grabs the chair. V4 charges, Park moves, LA Park charges, V4 kicks him away twice, V4 charges out, Park powerslam him for two. Corner whip, V4 goes in chest first and back elbows Park. Clothesline, one two NO. Crowd chanting, not sure for who. Villano clothesline misses, LA Park DDT works, but only for two. Park starts punching V4 in the side of the head, taking off his glove to make better contact and tearing at the mask. It's strongly ripped here. V4 battle back, and they fight on their knees until V4 is able to rip up LA Park's mask. Whip, V4 sunset flip, only two. V4 heel kick, stunner on Park, one two NO. Both back up, Park almost sends V4 into Tirantes, Tirantes holds V4 back and shoves him into a Park backcracker. Park punches V4 in the head a few more times quickly, then covers one two three.

Park plays his invisible

Match 3: Canek vs el Hijo del Perro AguayoCibernéticoElectroshockSilver KingToscano in a AAA's Rey de Reyes Tournament match and in a tournament semifinal match
Plaza de Toros La Monumental, Monterrey, 03/17/2013

Winner: Canek
Match Time: 8:20
Rating: eh
Notes: Perro gets the live music entrance. Toscano still has the Consejo music and gear, but not the shirt. He's still listed as trios champion. Jesus brings up Electroshock beating Kurt Angle, which I sincerely forgot about and I think so did everyone else. Canek gets last entrance, the only fireworks, and kinds with torches. Stats show guys with spinning torches stand a good chance of winning.

Perro gets one of the flaming ropes and threatens to use it, but referee Tirantes very safely takes it away. Cibernético demands to start with Perro, so everyone else clears out. Chop fight, Cibernético punches and forearms Perro in the back, and stomps him down. Perro gets up and dropkicks Cibernético, and the sound goes out of the crowd. Maybe because the dropkick wasn't close. Whip, Cibernético throws Perro down by his hair, and Perro tries to tag out. Silver won't tag it, so Perro rolls out anyway. Perro grabs a bad of popcorn form the fans, and throw it back at them. Canek comes in to face Silver King, but demands Toscano or Electroshock take his place. Electroshock eventually tag himself in, and runs into a Silver King boot. Forearms by Silver King and a big punch to the face. Electroshock punches and slaps Silver back on both sides a bit, then on the chest a bit. Off the ropes, Silver puts his head down too soon, Electroshock kicks it, Electroshock goes for the cutter, Silver shoves him off, both turnaround and pause until Toscano lands a missile dropkick to Silver King, which causes Silver just turn around into the Electroshock cutter. That's enough for the pin.

Canek is happy to come in now, and Toscano is scared of Canek. Toscano runs into a shoulderblock, and then into a clothesline. Toscano is the right guy to work with Canek here. Whip, Canek puts his head down too soon, Toscano kicks him, then walks him backwards into the corner. Chop. Toscano goes up, Canek stands around until Toscano missile dropkick him one two NO. Toscano suplex takes a while to set up, and then it's a Canek suplex instead. Canek elbow drop, one two three. Huh. They almost missed the elbow drop cutting cameras and catch it more clearly on the replay.

Electroshock and Cibernético shove and slap each other, but Perro interrupts and hits Cibernético with a chair. Cibernético goes down grabbing his head while Perro bangs the chair on the ring post. Tirantes grabs the chair, Perro shoves him and goes after Cibernético. Tirantes signals Perro's DQ - you could charitable say it was for shoving Tirantes (to explain why Park didn't get the same treatment), but he was making that motion before the shove. Perro did very little here.

Perro's not quite done. He goes after Cibernético soon to be opening cut. Perro's finally continued to stop and seems like he's going to leave, but instead brings a table to ringside and leans it on the barricade. Everyone in the match is just watching. Cibernético out of the ring, so Perro stands him in front of it, backs up, charge, and of course gets tossed thru the table. Cibernético grabs a chair, waits for the table to be cleared way from Perro, and this Perro when he gets up. Copetes is asking them to please stop, and then seems to declare Cibernético disqualified. He may be echoing Tirantes, who can't be seen, but Cibernético is done either way. Security separates Cibernetico and Perro but tires to walk them tot he back at the same time and that doesn't work at all. A couple dozen security people (local luchadors, by the looks of it) run out to try to keep them apart and are only partially successful. Cibernético's walked out, followed by Perro after a couple moments. Electroshock wanders out of the ring to argue with someone about fighting Perro.

Match resumes. Electroshock runs Canek from corner to corner, but runs into a late heel kick. Canek clotheslines Electroshock. Side slam one two three.

Toscano meets Elegido and Alan Stone (wearing huge dark glasses) that make him harder to recognize – late night?) Elegido notes the problems Toscano's had with Consejo, and Alan and Elegido suggest they could work together as a team.

Match 4: Canek vs El MesíasLA Park in a AAA's Rey de Reyes Tournament final match
Plaza de Toros La Monumental, Monterrey, 03/17/2013

Winner: Mesias
Match Time: 15:38
Rating: ok
Notes: Canek's fire people do not make a second appearance. Referee is Copetes.

Parka and Mesías stomp down Canek before the whistle. Park stays on the mat while being punched and kicked by both men. Park even unties Canek's mask. Canek slowly runs under a double clothesline, and Park responds by clotheslining Mesías. Canek armdrags Park a few times, and puts him in an armscissors armbar. Park is in pain, but slips out of it. Mesías on Canek with punches and chops. Corner whip, corner clothesline. Canek looks pained running. Mesías inside cradle on him, one two NO. Par and Msias chop fight, very loud impacts, and Park wins the battle. Park takes off his belt and belts Mesías in the back. Corner whip, reversed, Park kips up and out behind, wristlock, Mesías elbows him away, Mesías off the ropes, Park puts his head down too soon, Park powerslams him one two NO. Canek left to the apron, but comes back to clothesline Park. Park is up first, Park and Canek walk past each other, Canek hiptoss Park and elbow drops him. One two NO. Mesías kicks and forearms Canek in the back. Canek shoves him down, and hooks on a figure four. Mesías screams in pain. Park returns, and attacks Canek's knee with a chair. I guess that's legal this match. Dropkick to the chair. Park grabs the chair, swings and smacks Mesías in the head. I guess he hasn't hit Copetes. Yet. Park goes after Canek's knee some more. Corner whip, Canek gets in his heel kick. Canek scoops and slams Park. Middle rope elbow drop! One two no, Mesías pulls out Copetes for no reason. Announcers don't understand. Park pulls off Canek's mask and covers him, and Mesías throws Copetes back in. One two three. So both guys left are rudos. Crowd agrees, boos. At least Mesías picked a side.

Copetes talks to the crowd, who believes there was cheating there. Canek puts his mask back on argues the call, then takes his argument to the fans. LA Park gives Canek a high pitched laugh and tells him to get lost. Canek threatens to come back with a chair, but does not. Match results after about 90 seconds and spears up greatly. Mesías runs back and forth, finally landing the spear, but only getting a two count. LA Park slow up, Mesías charges him in the corner, Park moves, and Mesías hits the corner. Mesías kick caught, LA Park spins him into the ropes and pulls him off for a backcracker. Mesías down, but under the ropes, so Park has to roll him back and then cover. One two NO. LA Park struts. Park charges, Mesías moves, Park hits the post. Mesías to the middle rope, headscissors off. Park out, and Mesías blows up Park (and himself) with a huge tope. Both are counted out on the outside. Being outside for 20 seconds is more trouble than a chair shot, I guess. Mesías makes it back in first, but turns th wrong way and Park give shim a backcracker – timing horrible on that. Park starts to cover and then decides he need to pose instead to get the crowd into pit. Park up top, flying wheel kick! Going back on the playbook there. One two NO. Park puts Mesías thru the ropes and knocks him to the floor with a running kick. Park to the apron, flying kneelift turns into a sort of silla. Replay of that. LA Park makes it back in, Mesías in at 17, Park covers one two Mesías easily grabs the ropes. Park slams Mesías and heads up, but Mesías crotches him. Mesías climbs up with Park, punches him, super frontcracker! LA Park was vertical into Mesías' chest, and they both seem hurt from that. Mesías covers Park, can only get 2. Mesías goes up, flying nothing takes Park's kicks to his chest. Park drags Mesías to the corner, smashes him into the buckles, and climbs up while pulling Mesías with him. Both up top, top rope Spanish fly completely falls apart. Mesías bent down to jump up, but instead lost his footing and fell backwards into the ring, while LA Park took the flip bump and landed badly on his left leg. He's in a large amount of pain. Mesías gets back up, lands the top rope splash, seem to say something to Park, then rolls over on top one two three.

Copetes checks on Park's left leg. He's still in a lot of pain. Copetes waves for the doctor, who's right in behind Joaquin Roldan and a couple Reinas del Ring. Park can't move, so Joaquin goes around him to present the sword to Mesías. Mesías raises the sword and Copetes and Joaquin raise his arms. Joaquin checks on LA Park while Mesías poses with the sword and confetti starts to fall. They focus on Mesías celebrating and avoid showing LA Park, but he's down for a long time and probably needs a stretcher out. Replays skip the botched spot, wow. That's a nice change.
