CMLL on CadenaTres #277 (03/23/2013)
Recapped: 03/30/2013

We're down to two announcers! (Enrique & Gerardo.) I am fine with only two announcers, but I'm worried the others have been bumped out. Oh, they send it over to the other side of the ring for the other three, that's better.

Match 1: Freesbe & Génesis vs Camorra & Cholo
Arena Mexico, 03/19/2013

  1. técnicos

  2. rudos
  3. rudos

Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 14:44
Rating: bad
Notes: Referee is Pompin.

1: Highlights is Karla's hiccups. Pairs are Fresbee and Camorra (who bought new gear, not sure why he bothered) and Genesis and Cholo. The last two are dangerous combination. Genesis blows a roll – a roll! - which stuns me into silence but the crowd sure isn't silent about it. The two then screw up rolling over in a bodyscissors, then stand in a hammerlock and very obviously discuss things. I'm starting to think lucha libre may not be on the level. Genesis dropkicks Cholo out to boos. Cholo gives the camera a look like he knows that was not any good. Freesbe submits Camorra and Generiss and Cholo blow a headscissors into a cradle into a half crab.

2: Cholo and Fresbee do better together, with a lot of Fresbee's jumping armdrags. Genesis and Camorra team up for monkey flips and headscissors (of the loose variety.) Armdrag and dropkicks and Camorra finally faints his way out if. Freesbe gets cut down in the corner by a Camorra clothesline from the apron, and Cholo dropkicks him low. Cholo chops and headbutts Genesis, and the rudos pull together a wheelbarrow front cracker to finish him. Cholo gives Freesbe a wheelbarrow faceslam before adding on a modified cavernaria to end it.

3: Rudos dominate. Genesis takes his a legdrop to the back of the head, and it causes him to lift his head instead of going down. Freesbe kicks back at a corner charge to start the comeback. Timing isn't so great on this, and Genesis seems to get lost for a while. Cholo make it four it by kicking and punching Genesis out of the ring. Cholo gives Freesbe an inverted caballete (head pointed the other way) for the submission. It takes Camorra a while to set up his submission, and no time for Genesis to get up.

Match 2: Aereo, Shockercito, Stukita vs Demus 3:16, Mercurio, Pequeño Violencia
Arena Mexico, 03/19/2013

  1. técnicos

  2. rudos
  3. rudos

Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 13:08
Rating: good
Notes: Referee is Bestia Negra.

1: Violencia and Stukita battle over leg holds nicely. Violencia traps Stuka in a suástica, only for Stukita reverse to his own. Battle ends with face slaps. Shockercito and Mercurio are next. Mercurio makes fun of Shockercito's height and offers to fight on his knees - Shockercito immediately puts on a headlock. Nice helicopter headscissors send Mercurio out to the floor. Even with the lights down, it's very obvious the crowd on that side doesn't go back more than 5-6 rows. Mexico home game can do that. Aereo tries a complicates rope bounce headscissors, can't finish it, Demus puts him in a full nelson and Aero armdrags free. They just try it again on the opposite side, and Aero suddenly finishes with a huracanrana. Demus is captain, so that's it. Demus is mad at his partners for breaking it up in time (they came in late), while they're mad at him for losing.

2: Stukita evades and flips, and pulls of a nice springboard into an armdrag. Stukita drops Mercurio up top, but misses the torpedo splash and takes a dropkick. Demus comes in to quebradora Stukita, and follows with a shoulder powerslam and a dropkick out. Aereo manages to roll in okay, but Violencia chokeslam him to put him down. Strong chops by Violencia. Mercurio and Violencia kick Aereo out, Shockercito and Shockercito springboard armdrag them – er, Shockercito tries to springboard, falls back on the apron, steps thru the ropes, and clotheslines a bored looking Violencia. Rudos immediately beat the técnicos anyway. Mercurio Storm on Stukita looked brutal.

3: Demus crushes Shockercito with a big front backbreaker, but Mercurio ruins it by dropkicking him by mistake. Shockercito dropkicks Mercurio and celebrates. Next sequence includes a nice Shockercito flipping armdrag and a headscissors it doesn't seem possible for him to make before Mercurio is slid out. Aereo monkey flips Violencia over the ropes (though Violencia has some problems with that.) Demus shows off his técnico rolls before starting with Stukita, who does out flip him. Stukita looks good, and Shockercito pulls off a triple rotation headscissors on Demus. Shockercito hiptoss Violencia to the apron, uses Mercurio to jump to the top rope, and moonsaults onto Violencia from there. The idea is nice, but the sequence isn't very smooth. Shockercito stomps down Violencia while the other four come in, with Demus the last man standing. Tecnicos are whipped into the corner, then pulled into double martillo negros.

Match 3: Diamante, Sagrado, Tritón vs Puma, Sangre Azteca, Vangelis
Arena Mexico, 03/19/2013

  1. tecnicos

  2. rudos
  3. técnicos

Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 10:21
Rating: okay
Notes: Referee is Pompin. Puma is wearing a half Felino mask.

1: Triton dropkicks Puma into retreat. Sangre and Diamante do the legs tied headstand slap fight bit, which is always fun. This graduate them to turning over and fighting with legs tied, then standing and chopping, Sangre wining by kick. Diamante comes back with his four bounce armdrag and chases Sangre around the outside for a quebradora. Sagrado quickly headscissors Vangelis out and wipes him out with a big tope. Puma takes an clumsy bump into the ropes and Triton puts him down with a springboard legdrop. Diamante submits Sangre at about the same time.

2: Sangre quickly yanks Triton out of the ring and throws him into the barricade to suddenly start the beatdown. Sangre gives Sagrado a low blow dropkick in the técnicos corner. Vangelis lands the wheel kick on Diamante, poses, and dropkicks Triton around. Puma gets in the dropkick to the backside to set up the casita on Sagrado, and that does it. Sagrado is the captain, but Puma still superkicks Triton off the apron and swings him into the barricade.

3: Rudos stay in control until Puma misses a corner charge (and gets himself hung upside down for 10 seconds while everyone else does their spots.) Diamante wipes out Sangre Azteca with a big tope con giro, Triton boost headscissors Puma out and uses Vangelis boot to the to the apron for a top rope Asai moonsault. Sagrado missile dropkicks Vangelis, Vangelis kicks him away, Vangelis clothesline reversed into a Sagrado short clothesline, Vangelis ducks that for an inside cradle, Sagrado reverses that into an armbar armscissors and that's enough to end it.

Match 4: Guerrero Maya Jr., Hijo del Fantasma, Shocker vs Kráneo, Mr. Águila, Psicosis
Arena Mexico, 03/19/2013

  1. técnicos

  2. rudos
  3. técnicos

Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 15:12
Rating: ok
Notes: Psicosis is wearing his old blue and red gear. Mije is referee. Referee is Bestia Negra.

1: Pairs are Psicosis/Guerrero Maya, Aguila/Fantasma, and Kraneo/Shocker, though the last two blend into each other.

Psicosis and Maya nicely battle off to a stalemate. The second group has a lot of the rudos breaking up Fantasma's holds. Shocker messes with Aguila's hair and chops him around before Aguila sends him into the rudo corner and clotheslines him. Kraneo slams Shocker and dances, but again gets pulled into a sunset flip. Shocker backdrops and big boots Kraneo out., and Maya launches into him with the barricade smashing tope con giro. Announcers keep pitching it to Karla who is not there (?), but then correct themselves. Tecnicos win immediately, Fantasma with not much of a hold. Mije is unhappy.

2: A nice looking setup headscissors by Guerrero Maya sends Psicosis out. Kraneo shoulderblocks Fantasma out and dances, but Fantasma comes back with a top rope dropkick and leads Kraneo into the usual kick and splash and Mije. Announcers say 100 kg landed on Mije. That's very generous to Kraneo. Other rudos rush the técnicos to get this back on track, but lose their urgency quickly. A chop fight between Aguila and Shocker gets it back a bit. Shocker is clotheslined by Psicosis, leg split by Aguila and Psicosis and kicked into leaving. Psicosis and Aguila give Maya a double powerbomb and Kraneo adds a middle rope splash to finish him. Fantasma manages to dropkick Kraneo out, but the other two handle him and Psicosis gives Fantasma a fireman's carry cutter to finish it.

3: Rudos stay in control of the match until Shocker fights off an Aguila corner charge with a spear. Other técnicos attack other rudos with punches and such. Kraneo goes out, and Fantasma leaps off the apron at him. Shocker attacks Aguila inside the ring, but Aguila fights him off with two straight spinning heel kicks. Aguila slaps Shocker in the corner, but tries another corner charge and misses a dropkick into the corner. Shocker launches on him with a pescado. Maya in, and missing a dropkick on the other two. Kraneo front suplexes that técnico, then he and Psicosis punch won the other one and stomp him on the ground. Maya flips Fantasma to safety, evades and fights off the other two, puts Kraneo in a time killing submission and Fantasma land the Phantom Lariat on Psicosis. Aguila and Shocker back in, Aguila gets in a rather obvious heel kick foul, and Bestia Negra calls the DQ.

Match 5: Marco Corleone ©, Máscara Dorada, Máximo vs Ephesto, Euforia ©, Niebla Roja
Arena Mexico, 03/19/2013

  1. técnicos

  2. rudos
  3. técnicos

Winner: tecnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 9:05
Rating: eh/okay
Notes: Referee is Tirantes.

1: Máximo and Euforia start. Maximo getting a headscissors on Euforia starts a domino effect of activity. Dorada and Máximo do a nice job of clearing out the ring, but Euforia gets them with a double clothesline to cut their dives off, but Euforia turning into a Marco tilt-a-whirl slam to win it. The last minute or so was just one unbroken sequence. Marco celebrates by showing off his bicep.

Tecnicos do a promo for the show with Dorada doing all the talking and Marco goofing around.

2: Mascara Dorada has a nice double springboard headscissors on Niebla Roja. Euforia misses a high speed corner charge, throws himself out, and Dorada launches off the apron with a diving headscissors. Máximo does his usual with the rudos, with the announcers calling the kiss spot 3 moves before it happens. Marco does short comedy with Euforia, which is hard to do. Jumping bit, which just ends up with Marco kicked and headlocked. Sunset flip, dancing, and punching. Marco leaves, walks to the ramp, and lands the Aereo Italiano, but doesn’t hold on for a pin so they're doomed. Rudos instantly beat all the técnicos anyway. This is highlighted by how long it take for Niebla Roja to do his move. Too many steps for a suplex and it doesn’t count anyway.

3: Usual rudo beatdown, attacks for everyone. Niebla Roja does not do the tornillo on the flying sit. Máximo star the comeback with the springboard butt bump and a tope on Ephesto. Marco and Dorada both end up on the ramp, so they come in one after each other – euforia catches Dorada's torito and turns to clear room for the Aero Italiano on Rniebal Roja. (Marco also went to the side a bit.) That's instantly it.

Announcers wrap it up and talk about next week's main event – Peste Negra.
