Match 1: Tritón vs Virus in a lightning match
Arena Mexico, 12/30/2012

Winner: Triton
Match Time: 5:58
Rating: ok
Notes: Referee is Edgar, who has not tucked in his shirt. Virus is back in his pre-Cancerbero gear.

Virus keeps Triton grounded, maneuvering around into a half crab only for Triton to twist his way out. They go into the ropes, allowing Triton up to fix his pants. Virus goes back to grabbing a body part and holding down, with Triton escaping just long enough to be set up into other holds, until he's finally able to armdrag Virus away. Chest slap battle is loud. Virus blocked one, so Triton just hooks a headlock with his other arm. Shoulderblock, over, Virus rolls away, Triton flipping run, pose, Virus grabs his arm and back elbows him. Virus yells, kind of mocking Triton there. Triton shoved into the corner, whipped the other way, and walking up the ropes for a flying armdrag. Virus flips Triton to the apron, Triton slaps him back and climbs up, but Triton just dropkicks him to the floor. Virus slide out after Triton, Triton walks away, then charges – and gets lifted up and rammed into the post! The big news here is Triton manages to lay on the ground without grabbing his pants. Virus in, waiting for Triton. Boot misses, Triton swing kick, springboard roll in, Virus moves, then waves Triton in the ropes so he can come back with a spinning headscissors. Triton runs, tope con giro knocks over Virus. Replay of that. Triton points to the crowd and takes the long way back in. Virus clothesline blocked, Triton headbutts him and slingshot in. Crowd shot again, covering up something – Virus double armbar cradle, one two NO. Virus wants a snappier count. Whip, Virus miss a clothesline, Triton leaps into a sit down powerbomb one two NO. Virus covers again one two NO. Virus slaps Triton to the ropes, where he hangs on just to keep standing. Five minutes.

Whip, Virus slide under, Triton armdrags him, Virus flips Triton to the apron, Triton pulls Virus down by his hair. Triton springboard double knee to the face maybe? Dropkick that occurred late. Whatever, it's good for two. Triton Michinoku Driver, one two thr-NO. Triton clotheslines Virus a couple times, sit down powerbomb one two three. Three? Huh.

Triton gets post match, who says he prepared hard – and somehow this turns into a promo on Franco Colombo and Shocker about how hard he prepares? There are issues here. Triton says he's going to get in to higher spots, prepare harder, and win in 2013.

A fan says she's a fan of Virus, and does not seem down about what just happened.

Match 2: Ángel de Oro, Diamante, Super Porky vs Niebla Roja ©, Olímpico, Puma
Arena Mexico, 12/30/2012

  1. técnicos

  2. rudos
  3. técnicos

Winner: técnicos
Match Time: 10:19
Rating: eh
Notes: Referee is Bestia Negra. The interview segments seem to have replaced any time where they might show the lineups or the captains. Mije is with the rudos.

1: Angel de Oro has no problem with Puma to start, finishing with a standing moonsault for two. Mije demands to face Diamante. Kicks and punches work not at all. Diamante suggests he bounce off the ropes, and then kicks him down when he does. Seems rude. Diamante runs Olímpico off the ropes many times before finally armdragging him. One quebradora and he's out. Crowd very happy with Porky tags in. Roja has the usual problems, and gets pinned slamming Porky, which seems to be Porky's new finish. Roja is apparently the captain.

2: Puma demand a handshake from Angel de Oro. Oro accepts, then lets go. Puma has no idea what to do and just leaves his hand out there. Oro reaches out again, then just decides to run the ropes. Flipping run, Oro does a leapfrog and Puma just shoulderblocks him (??!?), Puma off the ropes, Oro leapfrogs over him this time, Puma upkick/superkick combo. Whip, Oro flipped to the ramp for the Oro swing kick/outside in moonsault combo, two count. Puma wildly misses a clothesline, Oro rope bounce headscissors. The frequent crowd shots are back this week. Oro fake out a dive, Olímpico comes in to kick him form behind, then drops him in the corner for a Mije low blow headbutt. Angel de Oro grabs Mije, but Olímpico pulls Oro off. Whip, Oro back elbows Rojo out. Diamante comes in, but Roja punches and slaps him. Whip, trip doesn't go quite right but Roja still kicks Diamante out. Puma grabs Diamante and swings him into the barricade. That's his move now. Roja tries kneelifts on Roja, and chops him into the ropes. Shot to the face too. Whip, spinebuster, Roja is in pain, but Porky is flat on the mat for an Olímpico springboard splash. Three count, and Porky is the captain.

3: Beatdown. Mije is tossed on Porky. Puma helpfully tosses Angel for Niebla's kick. Olímpico and Puma give Diamante a double spinebuster, but Olímpico pulls Diamante up before three. Niebla Roja gets in the front flip double heel kick. It seems like he's got some control of where the feet are going live, not as much on replay. Rudos whip Porky to Olímpico, who just gets run over to start the comeback. Young técnicos springboard dropkick the young rudos and follow with dives from the corners, while Porky planchas Olímpico. Porky threatens Mije. Oro rolls into a 'rana on Puma, Olímpico pushes off the pin to sunset flip Porky, and that works as well as it ever does. Diamante and Roja just never make it back to the ring.

JCR interviews the winners and suggests 2013 will be the best year for Diamante. I have no idea why. Optimism! Crowd much more into Porky than the other two.

Match 3: Atlantis, Diamante Azul, Shocker vs Mr. Niebla, Terrible, Tiger
Arena Mexico, 12/30/2012

  1. rudos

  2. técnicos
  3. técnicos

Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 11:35
Rating: ok
Notes: Rudos have jumped the técnicos. Monito is with the técnicos, Zacarias and La Comandante are with the rudos. Mr. Niebla is Hulked out. Referee is Terror Chino.

1: Choking and punching. Terrible kicks Shocker around. Even Tiger gets to chop around Shocker. Announcers talk about Emilio Charles Jr. Niebla takes Azul down, Terrible top rope splash to beat him. Niebla submits Atlantis quickly. Rudos throw Shocker into the barricade. Zacarias puts the boots to Monito. Niebla goes after Atlantis' mask. Zacarias gets his hand raised, then goes after Monito some more, including a strong 619.

2: Rudos continue in control. Shocker takes corner clotheslines and a Niebla slap. Atlantis turns a corner charge into a quebradora on Niebla, and the rudos slap their way back into control. Crowd is anti-tecnico, or at least these técnicos. Azul and Shocker spinebuster Terrible, then Shocker tells Azul to go after Tiger. Quebradora on the ramp. Shocker cradles Terrible, Azul easily suplexes Tiger, Niebla runs from Atlantis, but Atlantis clothesline them both over the barricade and punches Niebla in front of the first row. Crowd approves. Atlantis poses, then pulls Niebla back over before the security catches up to him. Atlantis is angry.

3: Tiger tries to fight a location where he might win a chop fight with Shocker, decides to just give up and tag out. Terrible lays out Shocker with a chop, and avoids a dropkick after a trip. Shocker turns it around for the corner clothesline, bulldog combo. Niebla gets armdragged and double chopped. Zacarias tries slapping shocker on the backside. Shocker ignores him, then waves Monito. Zacarias swings wildly, Monito blocks it and double chops him. Atlantis refuses Terrible's handshake, and gets slapped in the face. Niebla celebrates with a kiss. Atlantis rallies back with a lot of rudos hitting rudos, including Comadante taking her kick. Niebla finally is able to clothesline Atlantis to stop the run and catches it, but Atlantis dropkicks him out and shoves Zacarias on top. Atlantis wants to add a top rope plancha onto Niebla, but Niebla is too slow up and Atlantis just decides to give up on the idea. Azul gives Tiger a giant atomic drop (maybe by accident), the big armdrag, and Tonga style flash elbow. Niebla is kicked down and treated to the corner senton. Azul headscissors Terrible out and topes him, so we're just about done here. Shocker time killing hold on Tiger, Atlantis planchas Niebla, Niebla rolls thru and pulls of Atlantis' mask, then covers him. Referee is very slow realize the pin, and Niebla doesn't hide his work well. Three count anyway. I thought Atlantis must be captain, but Tiger inside cradles Shocker as he argues for another pin.

JCC talks to the rudos. Comandante messing with Zacarias's mohawk is the best part. Announcers wrap up with Bobby Zavala and Disturbio – their interview is cut out, they're just standing there randomly.
