Arena Mexico, 09/21/2012

  1. tecnicas

  2. rudas
  3. tecnicas

Winner: técnicas (2-1)
Match Time: 13:32
Rating: ok
Notes: Tiffany and Marcela are still arguing, and start fighting before the other rudas get there. Not that the other técnicas help. They stop fighting within seconds anyway. Referee Tigre Hispano. Graphics for the técnicas are actually for the rudos in the second match.

1: It takes a while to get everyone to go to their corners so they an actually start the match. Princesa Blanca leads Dallys thru a long opening exchange (for them, three minutes is so long) which is the usual OK but very practiced. It gets worse near the end, when Dallys tries something and it turns out to be a sort of tornado headlock takedown. That doesn’t seem right, but it does seems like what she meant to do, like the poor clothesline that ends the exchange. Amapola mocks a very happy Goya, and dropkicks her as she rolls. Amapola runs around a lot and gets clotheslined, but rebounds to spear Goya. That’s not the best of ideas for a good looking spot. Goya lands a running plancha, but Amapola rolls before she can get out the splash. Marcela and Tiffany are last, Marcela knocking Tiffany down with a with a one foot dropkick but Tiffany getting her legs up on the double knee drop. Wheelbarrow faceslam, Tiffany celebrates, doesn’t pin. Marcela comes back with a slap and her running kneelift. Tiffany falls down after one, so Marcela goes straight to her new cartwheel kneedrop. Marcela sets up the double underhook, Blanca runs to break it up, but Marcela turns Tiffany around to take the kick. That was well timed. Blanca misses a clothesline and runs into Goya’s belly. Goya chases Amapola away as the others finish up.

2: Blanca and Dallys have another exchange where Dallys somehow knows to duck chops before they’re even thrown. She must be psychic! Her offense looks okay anyway. Goya slams Tiffany, but hurts herself while missing a senton. Other women come in for a double spinebuster, and Tiffany adds a legdrop. Tiffany goes crazy pounding Goya, though they’re to the most fearsome punches. Rudas quickly go thru Marcela, then kick around Dallys. Tiffany throws Goya in the corner and the rudas from the outside take plenty of shots. They run Goya into Tiffany, then run Goya into Dallys, then submit both of them. Amapola & Tiffany hook on a giant Boston crab on Goya.

3: Marcela tries to attack Tiffany from behind, but Amapola hooks her from outside and she’s quickly thrown out. Dallys is choked and kicked out. Tiffany tries to lure Goya into a sneak attack from Blanca, Tigre Hispano stops Blanca from coming in, Tiffany warns Goya to turn around to see Blanca coming in, Goya falls for it and Tiffany hits her. Nice improvisation. Rudas seem to be setting up a double clothesline spot on Goya, but change to a drop toe hold at the last moment, confusing Goya. Amapola misses her running sit anyway, Goya knocks down Blanca, Dally dropkicks Tiffany follows with an apron silla. Goya and Blanca hold on to each other (and fairly obviously talk) before Goya whips Blanca into her usual corner springboard plancha to the floor. Dallys gathers the rudas, and Goya flattens them with a plancha off the apron. Marcela comes in with a plancha on Amapola, Amapola rolls thru for two. Amapola double underhook, Marcela escapes, Marcela kick, Michinoku Driver! One two three.

Match 2: Hijo del Fantasma, Rey Cometa, Valiente © vs Niebla Roja ©, Puma King, Virus
Arena Mexico, 09/21/2012

Winner: técnicos
Match Time: 20:25
Rating: good
Notes: Rey Cometa wears his mask to the ring. It looks different. He takes it off in the ring. He's going with the pony tail, I see. Monito waddles out with Fantasma. Fantasma does not waddle, though that would be funny. Puma has a flag colored mask for the week, while Niebla's gear is all in green, white and red. Puma shoves Cometa out of the ring as they're announcing captains. Fatansma is wearing his outfit that exactly matches the comic character the gimmick is based on. Referee is Babe Richard.

1: Valiente and Virus start off with a long mat battle, which Felino likes more than the crowd does. I don't know what Puma's been doing this week, but his skin is glowing red. Cometa comes in to face him, and Puma decides to leave - then return as soon as Fantasma has tagged in. Fantasma smoothly armdrags Puma, then circles him around so Cometa can sneak in and kick him without a tag. Referee allows it. Chop fight, Cometa off the ropes, Puma clothesline misses, second clothesline feeds into a big spinning headscissors. Puma escape an up and over sunset flip, slide out on Cometa's flipping run, Cometa slides out after him, and Cometa flips Cometa on the floor with a clothesline. Other rudos stop Cometa, Valiente tires to help and is knocked away. Virus trips up Fantasma in the ring, and dropkicks him in the face. Fantasma tries to crawl away, but Niebla Roja brings him back and stomp him into the back of the knee. On the outside, Puma throws Cometa into the barricade. Double boot for Fantasma. Double shoulderblock sends Valiente out. Rudos bring Cometa in for a Puma flapjack and kick. Puma points to the crowd, then adds a trip and dropkick to the face. Virus legsweeps Fantasma and cradles him for a pin. Puma tosses Valiente for Niebla Roja's kick, then beats up Cometa on the outside. Niebla gets his hand raised, then drags Monito in the center of the ring, looks around, and legdrops him. Puma counts that pin! Those two are becoming fast friends.

2: Rudos pull down Rey Cometa's top so Puma can chop him hard. Felino talks glowingly about King Haku. Puma tosses Cometa out of the ring to the ramp, then up the ramp some more. Niebla kills time with Fantasma for a bit, before setting him up for Virus' slingshot senton in. Virus put on a cavernaria, but Fantasma escapes and tags in Valiente. Valiente dropkicks Virus, but gets grabbed by the other rudos and punched by Virus. Whip into a Niebla Roja springboard dropkick. Cometa back in, and Puma knocks him down with his rebound superkick. Cometa rolls under a clothesline, evades a rebound hiptoss, flips Puma out of the ring to the apron, and enziguri kicks him. Puma stays on the apron, dizzy, and Cometa pulls him off with a tope rope headscissors. Cometa in, off the ropes, and landing the Brillo tornillo again. Valiente springboard armdrags Virus, Niebla Roja kicks him down, Valiente trips him onto the ropes, and Fantasma kicks Niebla Roja in the face. Valiente runs and nails Virus with a tope, while Fantasma German suplex Niebla Roja for another pin.

3: Cometa chases Puma to the base of the stairs. Niebla Roja kicks Cometa, Puma get sup and swings, Poor Niebla Roja takes it. Quebradora, and Cometa goes for the mask, but Puma gets away. Back in the ring, Valiente dropkick Virus for a near fall. Virus lands a second rope elbow drop for two. After another sequence, Valiente pulls off a top ropes sunset flip for two. Virus lip out on a corner charge, Valiente goes in hard, Virus slaps him away and yells, and Valiente slingshots into a armdrag to the floor. Huge bump by Virus. Niebla Roja and Fantasma in, Niebla ducks and gets in a nice thrust kick. Corner whip, charge, no one home, and Fantasma monkey flips Niebla Roja away. Sunset flip roll thru dropkick ends Roja out. Fantasma chases, Roja misses, monkey flip on the floor, Monito apron splash! Rey Cometa backflips in, but Puma dropkicks him down. Puma chops Cometa back into the corner, corner whip, charge, Puma sets Cometa on the top rope and slaps him there. Cometa climbs up, Puma preses him up, but Cometa turns it into a 'rana this time one two NO. Niebla Roja nearly breaks up the pin, then argues the count. Cometa dumps Puma in front of the corner, climbs up, 450 splash, one – Virus dropkicks Cometa right in the face. Valiente in, 'rana, Virus rolls thru one two NO. Corner whip, reversals end with Valiente's layout gutbuster. One two three.

Niebla Roja quickly gives Valiente the layout kick to the chest. Fantasma interrupts, then those two have long conversation in the corner. Something still doesn’t go right, because Niebla Roja follows Fantasma into the opposite corner expecting to be boosted out, and Fantasma doesn't start to move him until after the face. Fantasma moonsault looks painful for both, Fantasma's leg almost getting rapped into him. Int he ring, Puma get the reinera, Cometa slips out, Puma runs into the moonsault side slam, cover – no, they roll part, Cometa drops Puma in front of the corner, Cometa poses, 450 splash again, one two three.

Clips show we missed another Puma swing in to barricade for Cometa. Maybe that happened after the first fall and I didn't pick it up? That's the show.
