Anniversary show promo #1

Match 1: Dalis la Caribeña, Lady Afrodita, Luna Mágica vs La Seductora, Princesa Sugheit, Zeuxis
Arena Mexico, 08/28/2012

  1. rudas

  2. técnicas
  3. técnicas

Winner: técnicas (2-1)
Match Time: 15:33
Rating: bad
Notes: Maya is ref. This lineup, I dunno.

1: Pairs are Afrodita/Seductora, Dalis/Zeuxis, and no more. Afrodita's offense is mostly headscissors. She doesn't look smooth but better than she has seemed. Dalis and Zeuxis slowly go thru a better of pin and counter pin, nearly slow enough to get counted down for three. Kickboxing spots look better, but they're still slower than they should be. Dalis loses Zeuxis on a bit where she's supposed to pull herself off the mat just using Dalis' grip, and Dalis is a bit lost after that. Zeuxis has to pull it back together, and somehow sunset flips on he head. Sugheit breaks it up, thank goodness. Ruda beatdown form there. Double dropkick to the sides for Dails. Seductora gives Afrodita an attitude adjustment, then really has no idea what to do with her. Sugheit helpfully tags in for a trip and a dropkick that's intended to got to the head but ends up a bit lower. Corner charges for Luna, including Zeuxis' flying double knees. Rudas quickly finish it form there.

2: Having won the fall, Sugheit takes time out to steal the ring card. She does not get cheered quite as much as the ring girl. Rudas kick and throw around a técnica while the announcers interview a comedian playing a character. Sugheit barely touches Luna on a slingshot senton in to the ring. Dalis lifts up on to of a Tree of Woe, causing Seductora to hit the corner underneath her. Zeuxis tries her dropkick anyway, Dalis leaves, and Zeuxis dropkicks Zeuxis in the backside. There is no reaction to any of this. Crowd has tuned out. Zeuxis gets up, Dalis misses a clothesline, that Zeuxis ducks it well ahead of time, Zeuxis stands and waits for a Luna plancha, Luna finally does it, Zeuxis moves and Luna crashes and burns. That didn't look right either, but it sets up a Luna faceslam on Zeuxis so it probably was the plan. Campana by Luna, tirabuzón by Mágica, that's the fall. Dalis finishes Seductora with a double underhook slam ten seconds late, but Maya counts it anyway.

3: Luna and Zeuxis take turns wildly hitting each with kicks. Luna trips and falls down after hers, then takes Zeuxis kick right int the face. Maya rushes over to check if she's okay. The match goes on, so guess so. Dropkick to the face sends Zeuxis out. Luna goes out to the apron to check, setting herself up for Seductora's headscissors choke over the ropes. Later, Luna can't get over the ropes on a clothesline, so she stands back down on her feet, and calmly rolls out. End the match. Afrodita shows off a bad headscissors and a missile dropkick of average quality. Sugheit throws around Afrodita by her hair, carries Afrodita thru her offense, and of course kicks her. Kicks for Dalis, reverse headlock, no submission. One soft springboard armdrag send the ruda. Dalis headscissors Seductora while Afrodita dives into a Sugheit kick. That was just random, didn't fit that moment in the match. Luna kicks Seductora in the center of the ring, then completely whiffs on a running bulldog. End this match now. Zeuxis runs to Dalis, Dalis body slams her and covers for about two and half – Zeuxis doesn't kick out, but Dalis can't be bothered to stay down for all three. Meanwhile, Seductora jumps into a bear hug, and Luna sort of spins her around to faceslam her. I can't be bothered to figure this out. Match is ended!

Anniversary Promo #2

Match 2: Fuego, Guerrero Maya Jr., Triton vs Arkángel de la Muerte, Hooligan, Skándalo
Arena Mexico, 08/28/2012

  1. rudos

  2. técnicos
  3. técnicos

Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 12:42
Rating: ok
Notes: Ref is Tigre Hispano.

1: Fuego and Arkangel start with basic holds, and Hooligan interfering to break up the basic holds. Skándalo takes a turn interfering next. Tecnicos are very upset. Skándalo comes in and speeds it up a little bit, holding Fuego in a camel clutch for a Hooligan dropkick. Hooligan tries to stop Fuego from making a tag, but he gets to Maya anyway. Hooligan then sues Fuego as a shield before sneaking in a back elbow. Whip nearly takes out Tigre Hispano. Rudos quickly trip Maya up for Hooligan's finish. Skándalo seems to have Triton done on a half crab, but Arkangel adds a dropkick and the match keeps going. Skándalo Driver, done.

2: Arkangel middle rope low blow elbow drop is the first low blow of the match. Maya angrily kicks Arkangel as he comes in and slaps him hard until Arkangel fells him with a slap. Rudos slap Maya, but let him tag Triton too soon. Hispano is throwing up his arms on the tag rule a lot here. Announcers discussing English Premier Football teams. Skándalo low blow dropkick is #2. Triton sneaks in a sunset flip on Arkangel for two, but gets dropkicked and pummeled in the chest for it. Rudos soon accidentally boot out Arkangel and Triton ropes him. Fuego's quebrada budges Skándalo not all, while Maya's springboard reverse tope sends Hooligan tumbling. I cracked up at this. Skándalo has all sots of trouble with the 'rana, so much that Maya won't count it at first.

3: Maya gives Hooligan three straight spinning armdrags, which causes Hooligan to slide all the way to the floor and tumble there. Fuego sends Skándalo out with the backdrop escape armdrag. Triton also armdrags Arkangel around, but Arkangel flattens him with a dropkick. Skándalo in to double boot Triton out, but Skándalo also slaps Arkangel out when aiming for Fuego. Fuego dropkicks Skándalo out, flips off the middle rope to fake a dive, then runs head and topes anyway. He got the camera people with that one. Maya headscissors Hooligan out the other side, then topes him. Not the strongest tope ever from Maya, but Hooligan still goes flipping over the barricade. Triton dumps Arkangel in the ring, Tornillo moonsault just catches enough of Arkangel for the win. Crowd shots shows the person Hooligan kicked on the way over is rubbing their shoulder, that's no good. Security is ushering Hooligan away and around, so that must be the thing.

Anniversary promo.

Match 3: Diamante, Diamante Azul, Hijo del Fantasma vs Namajague, Shigeo Okumura, Vangelis
Arena Mexico, 08/28/2012

  1. técnicos

  2. rudos
  3. técnicos

Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 14:03
Rating: eh
Notes: Match hasn't started, but the edecanes are long gone by the time they pick up. That seems unusual. And wildly unimportant. Referee is Maya.

1: Namajague wants to mat wrestle with Diamante Azul at the beginning, and then seems to quickly change his mind to more conventional armbars. Azul ends up armdragging Namajague out, and Namajague starts sprinting around the ring when Azul chases him, before putting up a fighting pose far away. Fantasma and Okumura do little of interest. Guy kissing his bicep in the crowd is more interesting, though I don’t' want to give that guy too much credit. Diamante Plata casadora armdrags Vangelis out quick. Okumura cuts him off with a clothesline, then messes another and is caught into the armscissors. That's the fall, Okumura is the captain. Diamante Azul starts to celebrate, is totally confused, then resumes celebrating. I think he can't figure out how Okumura is the captain in a semimain, but here we are.

2: Okumura knocks Azul down so eh can do a spin to his feet, though Azul almost forgets and starts to get up like a normal person before doing the spin. Azul puts Namajague on the top rope following a charge and starts battering him with lifts and right to the head for no reason. Poor Namajague is pulled in the tree of woe for the rolling senton. I guess this is now the idea? It's a decent idea, though it involves people falling on their head. Fantasma and Okumura do stuff. I really have no time for them today. Vangelis spears Plata to get the advantage. Vangelis holds Diamante Plata on the mat for his teammates to hit, but Maya won't let them in, so Vangelis has to get up and walks Diamante to the corner for the same thing. Namajague double chop, and again Namajague is too slow to stop him from making the tag. Azul in, Namajague scared, Vangelis shoves Azul from behind and Namajague gives Azul a big headbutt. Okumura DDT for two. Azul tries to tag out as Vangelis tags in, but the rudo grabs him short. Vangelis wheels kicks him, and Northern Lights suplex Fantasma for one pin. Rudos take care of Plata with a Michinoku Driver and frog splash.

3: Plata drops Namajague with a quebradora. Okumura kicks Plata out, but Fantasma turns the table and pulls Namajague back before he can get to the corner. DDT, exaggerated sell by Namajague, and Okumura breaks up the pin. Namajague throws Fantasma into the rudo corner for chops. Okumura suplex one two NO. Okumura puts Fantasma armbar and wants Vangelis to come in. Maya says no, Okumura asks again, and in the rudos come. Whip, triple boot, out goes Okumura. Rudos all pose. Azul comes in, but the rudos grab him too. Corner charges, Okumura misses, and Azul dropkicks the other two as they clown around. Azul hits another corner senton on Okumura, then Diamante slips past the other two for a tope con giro onto him. Fantasma tries for the Phantom Lariat, rudos move, técnicos just German suplex them anyway. That's the fall.

Stellar Moments

Match 4: Ángel de Oro, Máscara Dorada ©, Titán vs Averno ©, Euforia, Pólvora
Arena Mexico, 08/28/2012

  1. rudos

  2. técnicos
  3. técnicos

Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: ?
Rating: good
Notes: Entrances, which last a while when there's six of them. Referee is Tigre hispano.

1: Titan and Pólvora start, until Pólvora remembers he has important business to attend to on the apron and leaves. Oro and Averno then! Lots of wrist spinning before Averno takes Oro down and they exchange quick holds there. Oro armdrags Averno away. Oro puts Averno in the same leg lock, and Averno has to desperately grab the bottom rope, with a little help from Pólvora. Oro headscissors Averno away on the next pass. Averno teases going in again, pretends to give Oro credit, and slaps him in the face. Oro slaps Averno back, and Averno crawls on his knees over to Euforia for comfort. Euforia protest to the referee, and Averno holds onto get a chant the crowd doesn't seem to want to give him today. Euforia in, but slingshots armdragged by Euforia. Handwalk backflip headscissors sends Euforia out. Titan runs for a dive, but Pólvora flips him with a clothesline. Pólvora on titan and pounding him with punches and kicks. Pólvora shoves Titan out for Euforia to beat, then avoids Dorada's charge and lays him out with the Pólvora diver. Averno kicks Oro away, and tacks on Devil's Wings. Euforia puts Dorada in a armscissors armbar, and Dorada is completely done. Poor guy got destroyed.

Rudos go after the técnicos in between falls.

2: Rudos separately beat up the técnicos. Euforia flapjacks and kicks Dorada in the ring. Averno throws Angel de Oro around, then goes in the ring to help attack Dorada. Pólvora slams Titan on the ramp. Titan struggles back in, and the rudos pound him from the apron. Averno drops Titan with a pumphandle powerbomb, and pulls him up at two on a pin. Rudos slap and kick around Titan. Pólvora gives him an odd timed short clothesline and a better corner clothesline before going for the mask. Pólvora rips the top of the mask apart, and tosses Titan to the floor. Titan has a lot more hair than you'd expect for it next sneaking out of his mask. Rudos triple boot Angel de Oro out. Mascara Dorada sneaks in a springboard dropkick on Averno to send him out, but Pólvora boots the técnico out. Titan comes in with a springboard headscissors. Euforia starts at Titan, Titan runs back to the ropes, Euforia waves him by, Titan does a tope con giro unimpeeded. Angel de Oro in, shoulderblock for Averno and a casadora mecedora for Euforia, Dorada pins Averno.

Pólvora begs off on the outside, but Titan dropkicks him, then throws him into the barricade. Pólvora escapes thru the gate, and Titan is not allowed to follow.

3: Carolina can't get to the ring with the fall card because Averno, Pólvora and Titan are having a bit of a standoff. Oro and Averno start the fall themselves, all Oro offense, and Averno going out quick. Dorada and Euforia are next, Euforia spinning Dorada out with a shoulderblock and chopping him across the ring. Euforia flips Dorada out of the ring, but to the ramp, and Dorada comes in with a beautiful running slingshot headscissors. Titan and Pólvora exchange chops, Pólvora goes off the ropes, and right out of the ring. Crowd boos loudly. Titan decides to chase, and Pólvora comes back in, taunting Titan. Titan gets back on the apron, and Pólvora kicks Titan as he puts his head in. Whip, clothesline misses, Titan headscissors Pólvora. Other urods in with a double clothesline that misses a double backdrop that Titan just flips out of. Other técnicos are in a bit late with their springboard armdrags. Rudos all out the same side – Dorada and Angel de Oro tope con giro, Titan springboard Asai Moonsault! Karla: “Oh my god!” Crowd is equally thrilled.

Averno pulls himself in first, but Titan waits for him from the apron. Swing knick knocks Averno back, Titan hesitates but springboards in with a' rana one two th-NO! That was close. Crowd isn't sure that wasn't three. Titan chest slaps Averno in the corner. Corner whip, reversed, charge, no one home. Titan again slaps Averno in the corner and puts him on the top rope. Titan back up, charges, jumps up to the top rope, and Averno jabs him. Middle rope Devil's Wings – rudos really like this idea – works! One two Dorada makes the save. There's a very concerned Titan fan in the crowd. Dorada corner whip, Averno tries to headstand to escape (?), Dorada pulls him off for a sit down powerbomb one two Pólvora breaks it up. Pólvora whip Dorada, sit down flapjack, one two Angel de Oro stops the count, and Pólvora asks Oro to kindly not hit him. Fans didn't think that should count as a break up. Pólvora swing at Oro, Oro back bend under, kips back up in one motion, and superkicks Pólvora. Euforia in and missing a dropkick. , Angle de Oro charges, Euforia flips him to the apron, Angel de Oro superkicks him from there, outside in moonsault one two NO. Euforia shoulderblock, of the ropes, Oro casadora, and pausing to long to let the rudo hit him. Pólvora clear of the apron as Averno and Euforia grab Oro. Double whip, lift, triple powerbomb. Euforia pins, one two three.

Titan dropkick Averno Euforia misses a senton, Pólvora grabs Titan but Euforia dropkicks Pólvora straight out. Titan looks at the crowd, looks at Euforia, duck under a charge, then rolls backwards up and over Euforia into a reverse bodyscissors cradle with bridge. Crazy one two three!

Averno boots Titan out, but eats a Dorada springboard plancha. Dorada headscissors reversed into an Averno faceslam. Averno poses, covers one two NO. Averno fires up, missing how Dorada has gone to the ramp – floating headscissors works, sends Averno out, and Dorada runs up the corner and turns for his moonsault to the floor. Pólvora in, but Titan in too, and Pólvora is distraught. Crowd chants for Titan. Titan off the ropes, up and over - NO, Pólvora powerbomb one two NO. Pólvora thought that count was slow and he's got a point Pólvora clothesline misses, Titan lits him up on the next pass – inverted Gori stretch! Pólvora gives! That was an unexpected end.

Titan is thrilled. Averno freaks out. Dorada seems too tired to celebrate. Titan cuts off the music. Tonight, he proved he was on championship level, so he wants a shot next Tuesday in front of his people in Arena Mexico. Titan rolls the microphone to Pólvora. Everyone else has bolted. Pólvora starts to respond, then just leaves when the fans aren't quiet enough. Titan asks the crowd if they want the match. Pólvora just walks off.

Announcers wrap up.
