Match 1: Dalis la Caribeña, Lluvia, Luna Mágica vs Amapola, La Seductora, Lady Afrodita
Arena Mexico, 07/31/2012

  1. rudas

  2. tecnicas
  3. técnicas

Winner: técnicas (2-1)
Match Time: 13:05
Rating: ok
Notes: Ref is Tigre Hispano.

1: Pairs are Amapola/Lluvia, Luna/Seductora, Dalis/Afrodita. Tigre Hispano slaps Amapola's hand when she pulls Lluvia's hair, which is plain rude. Lots of armdrags. Seductora randomly works in a shinning wizard early. She and Luna are both wearing essentially the same outfit, though Seductora has decided to cosplay as Lady Rabbit this week. Their bit ends with an out the ring 619 stomp, which the crowd boos greatly. Dalis is much taller than Afrodita and the dynamic is all wrong. Dalis screams so much. Dalis has trouble getting tiny Afrodita over for a quebradora, so someone screwed something up. Amapola destroys Dalis with a spear to turn the tide of the rudas. Seductora silla and submission on Dalis, Amapola sit down powerbomb on Lluvia, and Afrodita submission. Amapola apparently is just playing set up woman, I guess.

2: Dalis gets in a headscissors fine, Amapola and Dalis trip each other up, and Amapola gets in a dropkick first. Seductora helpfully sets up Amapola's running sit on the ropes. Seductora nearly looses Luna on a side slam, but everyone wins. Luna tries a wheel kick, Afrodita avoids, then knocks Luna down and dropkicks her in the corner. Afrodita tags in both her partners for corner charges, but the rudas screw up (tough to tell if ti's by accident) and Luna knocks and clotheslines everyone. Tecncias make the comeback after not really being dominated for that long. Amapola and Lluvia got out, others get in finishes.

3: Lluvia vs Amapola includes hairpulling and headscissors. Lluvia dropkick Amapola out but does not dive, thankfully. She does taunt Afrodita into coming in and missing a dropkick, and hands off to Dalis. Afrodita gets in a casadora armdrag on Dalis, but Dalis comes back with kicks and screams. Both are painful. Dalis gives Afrodita high knee, then hands off to their parents for a double boot on Afrodita. Luanda slides Afrodita to the apron, rudas hold her hanging out of the ring, and Luna adds a running double stomp. Luna ends up on the apron, and Seductora carefully climbs up on her shoulder for a headscissors submission over the ropes. Luna gets control back with a slap, and the técnicas all come in. Spinebuster, triple high five, rudas trip up the leer técnicas and Seductora trips up and stomps Dalis. Amapola throws Luna over the barricade into the front row. Back in the ring, Dalis spins around on a whip (???) but still dropkicks Seductora out. Afrodita gets Dalis with a flashy headscissors, but then rolls out of the ring very slowly. Lluvia stomps her to get her going. Lluvia and Amapola in, and Amapola throws Lluvia around by her hair. Whip for Seductora to hold, but of course Amapola dropkicks the ruda. Lluvia back with a casadora into her reverse crab, and Amapola gives.

Match 2: Hombre Bala Jr., Rey Cometa, Super Halcon Jr. vs Cancerbero, Hijo del Signo, Raziel
Arena Mexico, 07/31/2012

Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 14:59
Rating: good
Notes: Ref is Tigre Hispano.

1: Pairs are Signo & Cometa, Cancerbero & Halcón, and Raziel & Bala. Signo dominates early, but Cometa gets in headscissors from the mat. Bala does a corner headstand kick on Raziel before headscissors him, but Raziel blocks the next clothesline and short clotheslines him. Bala rebounds to trip Raziel on the ropes and land the double knee shot to the back. Raziel rolls out to the apron, and Bala dives thru the ropes to splash him. Other four in, Cometa tries to kick Cancerbero away on a charge but Cancerbero grabs his feet and kicks him a few times before pulling him off. Dropkick sends Cometa to the apron. Halcón rolls in, and runs right over to Signo for a spinebuster. Cancerbero and Signo put on their submissions for the win. Cancerbero takes his time letting go, then remembers to check on Raziel, who's still down on the apron.

2: Rudos take control. Big backdrop for Bala, who makes it Cometa for a tag while the rudos shift change. Double spinebuster for Cometa, but whatever was going to happen next is thrown out by everyone but Raziel leaving. Raziel rests and knocks Cometa down with a spinning back elbow. Signo clotheslines Cometa, then taunts Halcón. Signo marches Cometa back to the corner so the rudos can snap his neck around the corner. Halcón comes in but misses a dropkick. Corner whip, corner clothesline for Halcón. Halcón fights back from the apron and missile dropkicks Cancerbero out, but Signo sends him out with a dropkick. Bala flies in with an armdrag on Signo. They get lost, but Bala dropkicks Signo out eventually. Raziel and Bala evade, Bala casadora armdrags Raziel, Raziel cartwheels thru and dropkicks Bala out. Cometa in with a plancha, and a back flip big spinning headscissors, going around for a three times and leaving both men dizzy! Cometa recovers and tornillos Raziel for good measure. Cancerbero charge into a Halcón kick, which improbably knocks him down. Halcón middle rope elbow drop, Bala short top rope tornillo, that takes care of him.

3: Halcón gets Signo with a tornillo armdrag, and a more conventional flipping one. They both end up on the apron for Halcón's required back suplex there. Cometa flips into face Cancerbero, then gets in a flipping run before one single armdrag sends Cancerbero out and grabbing his arm. Cometa follows with a diving headscissors fro the apron. Raziel shoulderblocks Bala, then turns his clothesline into a tirabuzón cradle for two. Raziel is no Shocker. Raziel gets up and charges, but Bala takes him down and puts on an odd headscissors submission. Signo breaks that up. Whip, reversed, Bala messes up a quebradora so hard that Signo's head hits Bala's knee on the way past. Halcón corner clothesline Signo, whips him out into Bala's kick, dropkicks Signo into the corner, and Bala finishes with his corner tope. A team! Cancerbero whips Bala, Bala rolls over the top to the ramp, then forearms down Cancerbero from outside. Bala backs up, charge, and does a slingshot senton in, then a tope out. Signo tries to go over the barricade and can't quite get it. If Diamante did that spot, Santo would lose his mind. Halcón dropkicks Cancerbero, walks him to the corner, corner whip, reversed, Halcón slide out, Cancerbero chases out, back to the apron, and Halcón dropkick him to the floor. Halcón runs – tope con giro knocks him out. Raziel and Cometa in, Cometa ranita, one two no. Cometa off under a clothesline, up for a headscissors, but dropped down on his face. Raziel turns him over and cover one two three! Raziel is so happy.

Match 3: Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr., Sagrado vs Black Warrior, Niebla Roja, Vangelis
Arena Mexico, 07/31/2012

  1. técnicos

  2. rudos
  3. técnicos

Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 15:55
Rating: good
Notes: Referee is Maya.

1: Mat work starts with Guerrero Maya & Niebla Roja, with the batons being passed to Delta, Vangelis, Sagrado and Warrior in that order. Niebla Roja is much better on the mat than I remember Angel de Plata ever being. Warrior, who came to the ring wearing his belt, taunts Delta while he's stuck in an armbar. Delta and Vangelis conspire to royally screw up a headscissors. Vangelis has to take Delta back to to the mat to sort out things. Warrior slows things down before doing his dance. Sagrado is just starting to mock him when Warrior attacks. Warrior still has spectacular corner splash misses, like the one here. Warrior looks very pained after taking a headscissors, and after taking a monkey flip. Warrior slides out to avoid any more, Sagrado slide out after him, Sagrado casadora just gets him shoved off into the barricade. Delta planchas the rudos, rudo whip him back the other way, Maya flips him to safety (though Delta almost lands on the post), Delta springboard 'rana on Vangelis while Maya finishes Niebla Roja.

2: Sagrado takes Warrior's middle rope legdrop. Delta feels the Vangelis wheel kick. Flapjack kick to the chest for him. Maya tries brawl with Niebla Roja, but Roja takes him down and drops a low blow headbutt. Referee will allow it. Warrior reverses a Maya sunset flip into a fast Niebla Roja dropkick to lay out the técnico. Sagrado revers a whip, gets flipped to the apron, but plancha back in on Warrior. Warrior trips him up and tries a casita, but Sagrado shoves him off. Warrior flips Sagrado to the apron and slide, Sagrado leaps over, but Warrior pulls him off the apron onto his chin. Niebla Roja grabs Delta in a wristlock, then ducks a Delta high kick to set up a pumphandle, double pumphandle into a Rosa a suplex seems needlessly complex. Meanwhile, Vangelis reverses a 'rana and powerbomb Maya strong for the other pin.

3: Rudos still dominate. Vangelis back elbows Maya, drags him across the ring slams him for – well, I'm not sure, and neither is Vangelis. Warrior just comes in and picks up Maya. Suplex. Maya tries to get back to his corner, and make the tag, but Delta isn't close enough. Warrior armdrags Maya and put on an armscissors, a novel hold. Maya gets his foot on the ropes, so Niebla Roja kicks it off. Sagrado runs in and breaks it up, then low blow headbutts Sagrado for no reason. Niebla Roja in, and delta in for the técnicas. Delta turns to look at the crowd, and Niebla Roja dropkicks him. Niebla Roja gives the crowd the business. Whip, reversed, quebradora for Niebla Roja. Niebla Roja gets up and stops Delta with a back elbow, and tags in Vangelis. Vangelis slaps Delta down, but Delta gets up and slaps him, then carefully pulls off a top rope flipping armdrag. Roll over the rope headscissors is slow but looks good. Delta celebrates, Niebla Roja tries to attack him again, Delta ducks this time and tries a 'rana, Niebla Roja rolls thru and pins with a foot on the ropes, one two Maya says no. Roja gets in Maya's face and argues, which totally confused Delta. Niebla Roja picks it up with his double chickenwing slam, and Delta reverses that to a casadora cradle for two. Both off the ropes, both running into each other with a plancha, Warrior and Sagrado cover one two three. Someone's fallen in love with that spot.

Sagrado and Warrior get into a chop fight, the first really long one of the show, but Vangelis and Maya dropkick them both to end it. They both bounce off the ropes, and Vangelis connects on the spear! Vangelis on top but covering with just one hand, one two NO. Whip, clothesline misses, Maya back with a spinning armdrag, and tope con giros into Vangelis and the first row. Warrior and Sagrado back in, Warrior clothesline miss, Sagrado superkick, off the ropes, Warrior drop toe hold, Sagrado crawls to the ropes, Warrior 619 , casita, Sagrado rolls thru and on top one two three! Great closing bit.

As the cameraman shoots the fans celebrating, Niebla Roja grabs the camera and demands to be shown instead.

Stellar Moments

Match 4: Rey Bucanero, Terrible, Tiger vs La Máscara, Super Porky, Titán
Arena Mexico, 07/31/2012

  1. TRT

  2. técnicos
  3. técnicos

Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 13:36
Rating: ok
Notes: Mascara wears his freshly defended belt to the ring, and a mask to hand out. Tiger is holding his Green Scary mask, but is wearing an older model. Referee is Tirantes.

1: Pairs are Titan & Tiger, Brazo de Plata & Rey Bucanero. Plata & Bucanero embrace the Olympic spirit by trying amateur wrestling (or Porky just flattening Rey.) TRT rush the técnicos from there. Tiger superkicks Mascara, Terrible corner clotheslines him, Tiger superkicks Mascara again (?) and Bucanero and Tiger team up for a legdrop, slingshot senton (rolling style) on Mascara. Double face first hiptoss on Titan, and a running splash by Terrible to finish him off. Rudos lft Porky up for kicks, then Terrible lets him down and pins him for the other pin.

2: Tormenta Bucanero on Mascara. Tiger superkicks Porky, and Porky just leans to the side a little bit. Porky sidesteps a charge and belly bumps Tiger to start the comeback. Tiger has a nice springboard headscissors on Tigre, and Mascara quebradoras Bucanero three times. TRT all fall at breaking up the pin, Titan and Máscara do the set up splash, and Porky splashes on top. Multiple people covering is legal this week!

3: Titan vs Tiger chop fight leads to rope evasion leads to Tiger dropkicks Tiger as hard as he possibly can. Titan lives, tries a five bounce headscissors, and looses it on the last bump. They improvise a quebradora, but it looks off. Bucanero comes in, and Titan handwalks a long way on backflip headscissors. Terrible runs Titan over like a truck, but Titan still armdrags him away and flips over the top rope to chase (or look cool.) Tiger can't knock over Porky with shoulderblock, but Porky can knock Tiger right out of the ring. Tiger storms back in the ring, and runs into a backdrop. Tiger chops and charges, and Porky flips him all the way to the floor. More Bucanero and Porky comedy. Tiger headscissors Tiger out, but Bucanero jumps him and goes crazy with punches. Bucanero taunt. Mascara gets in the kick, duck, superkick spot that he and Volador are stealing from each other. Mascara and Terrible face off, then chop each other. Terrible clothesline misses, back elbow misses, and Mascara headscissors does not. Máscara topes Mascara right into the barricade. Bucanero and Porky need two tries to get the usual sunset flip bit to work right (?!?). No pin though – Porky goes to the second drop for a splash, and Titan odes his rope flip moonsault for the pin.

That's the show.
