CMLL on CadenaTres #238 (06/23/2012)
Recapped: 06/26/2012

For the first time in five years (since the show started), CadenaTres has a new graphic package. No more shots of Alex Koslov and Místico. They could stand to make the wrestlers names a bit bigger on the match up graphic.

Match 1: Freesbe & Soberano Jr. vs Cholo & Ramstein

  2. técnicos
  3. rudos

Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 10:59
Rating: eh
Notes: Ref is Bestia Negra.

1: Paris are Ramstein/Soberano, and Freesbe/Cholo. They keep it on the mat, with the second two doing the more interesting job. Cholo sent out after a big step over armdrag. Soberano speeds it up the second time thru, springboard flipping over a Ramstein charge, but then stops to pose and gets run over. Soberano does trip Ramstein in the ropes, but poses on the middle rope instead of immediately following up, and Cholo just knocks him down. Cholo clears Freesbe off the apron, then captures Soberano in the Cholo lock. Ramstein just powerbombs Soberano for the other pin.

2: Cholo lands second rope elbow smash to Soberano's collarbone. Flapjack, and a legdrop to the back of the head. Cholo looks dangerous. Cholo distracts Soberano by pointing in the other direction, then punches him in the side of the head. Stomps. Cholo slams Soberano, Ramstein sets up for his move, referee makes him tag in, Ramstein goes back to the corner, then back to the middle of the apron for his slingshot senton in. New tag rules are just so faun. Ramstein slaps Soberano down and dropkick him in the side. Soberano reaches for a tag and makes it, completely legal, though Freesbe has to argue with the referee about it out of habit. Ramstein gently kicks Soberano out (who takes a big fall anyway) before Freesbe grabs him. Cholo gets in a shot from the outside to help his partner, claims innocence to the referee, then kicks Freesbe too. Ramstein and Cholo make a fancy tag to show off. Whip, backdrop. Dropkick send Freesbe out. Whip, Soberano escape the double bounce hiptoss, ducks a double clothesline and Freesbe wheelbarrow him into a headscissors on Cholo. Took a lot of work to set up, and it follows with everyone looking at each other for a beat before deciding they're ready to miss clotheslines. Cholo powerbomb gets turned into a Soberano sunset flip for three. Freesbe gets his own submission for the fall.

3: Cholo shoulderblocks Soberano out, but he comes back in with a springboard headscissors. Soberano springboard armdrags Cholo. His jumping enziguri kick is unnaturally loud. Ramstein flies far on a Freesbe armdrag. Freesbe gets in off the shoulders armdrag and a rope bounce one to send Ramstein out. Cholo boots Soberano into the rudo corner, charges, Soberano sits Cholo on top and slaps him, then backs up, charges climbs up and tries to pull off Cholo. What happens is that Cholo tries to block it but Soberano slowly pulls them both them off the turnbuckle, though Cholo still lands on his feet. Crowd boos. Ramstein runs over and hits Freesbe to move on. Cholo holds on and powerbombs Soberano, then picks him up and powerbombs him a second time. Ramstein bets Freesbe with a Michinoku Driver while Cholo puts on an elaborate submission for the win.

Match 2: Astral, Eléctrico, Último Dragoncito vs Demus 3:16, Pequeño Olímpico, Pierrothito
Arena Mexico, 06/19/2012

  1. rudos

  2. técnicos
  3. rudos

Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 12:19
Rating: okay
Notes: Referee is Tigre Hispano.

1: Pairs are Olímpico/Astral, Dragoncito/Pierrothito, and Eléctrico/Demus. Eléctrico does the big slingshot in, so Demus readies for his own slingshot, and then just steps thru the ropes. Demus is the best. Handspring headscissors goes well. Eléctrico has trouble getting Demus up for a fireman's drop, but does it. He does then springboard moonsault right into Demus' fight, an Demus dropkicks him out. Demus poses, runs, and gets kicked by Dragoncito coming thru the ropes. Other four in, other técnicos win it quick.

2: Astral gets Demus with a four hop (and turn) headscissors. Eléctrico has a nice fireman's escape headscissors on Pierrothito, and Pierrothito flies out of the ring on a missed dropkick. Dragoncito headscissors Olímpico, but Olímpico quickly drops him with a back suplex, then puts on the cristo negro, and the fall is over. Eléctrico and Astral are shocked to find out Ultimo Dragoncito is the captain. Strong work there.

3: Pierrothito almost loses Astral on the over the shoulder slam, and resolves it by dropping him hard. Astral plays dead, then is fine as soon as Pierrothito stands up, flipping off him and flip dropkicking him out. Olímpico takes care of Astral with a layout front suplex, then clotheslines Eléctrico as he rolls in. Eléctrico reverses a whip, lifts up Olímpico on the run, and drops him with a running powerbomb. Demus offer a handshake, Eléctrico won't accept, and Eléctrico gets in the high speed double headscissors. That's getting better, and it was already good, Eléctrico off the ropes, but dropped hard with a nice quebradora. Eléctrico wants out, but Demus retrieves him, whips him, and drops him good with his shoulder powerslam. Sliding dropkick send Eléctrico out. Dragoncito gets Demus with a fly headscissors, and then a big spinning one. Dive -no, Olímpico boots Olímpico down. Olímpico held Dragoncito up, only to jab him in the throat. Whip, clothesline misses, Dragoncito casadora armdrag sends Olímpico – into the ropes, getting himself crotched around the bottom rope. He frees himself, cuts of Dragoncito's dive, and then falls down in pain. Other técnicos in, but Eléctrico self powerbomb Pierrothito avoids Astral. Inverted powerslams, Pierrothito adding his finish to finish it.

Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 15:08
Rating: eh
Notes: Referee is Bestia Negra.

1: Pairs are Arkangel/Sagrado, Skándalo/Valiente, and Nitro/Fantasma. Valiente is really quick on the mat and Skándalo has to work to stay up. Fantasma is a guy who doesn't seem to work the mat much but has to do so here for at least a little bit. Rudos trip him up from outside, and fragrantly violate the tag rules to set up an Arkangel low blow elbow drop. Tuareg take turns knocking Fantasma down for a while until Arkangel just throws him out. Sagrado in, Arkangel whips him int the corner, waves for him to come out, waves, waves, waved, there he goes. Dope toe hold, camel clutch, and Nitro dropkick to the face. Valiente in, Nitro off the ropes, Valiente drop down, and Nitro give him an odd looking elbow drop. Whip, odd looking backdrop. Camel clutch dropkick. Skándalo covers, Fantasma breaks it up, but the referee ignores it. There are rules that count and I guess that's not one of them. Rudos holds Fantasma for a middle rope elbow drop and that does it. Announcers are unsure if Fantasma is the captain or if the first pin counted. The first pin shouldn't have counted, but the ref did count it. Sagrado complains to the ref not about that, but the total lack of tags by the Tuareg. The Tuareg beat him up.

2: Rudos knock around the técnicos. Backdrop, dropkick to the head for Fantasma. Rudos let Fantasma crawl and make a tag to Sagrado, then Arkangel tries to pull Fantasma back after the fact. That's not how it works. Sagrado dropkick him around. Arkangel climbs to the top rope on his own, and Sagrado 'ranas him off. Sagrado covers, but Nitro breaks up the pin. Nitro start to leave, referee yells at him to leave, Arkangel waves him back. Nitro helps corner whip Sagrado, whips Skándalo in for a clothesline and leaves. Arkangel and Skándalo wander over, whip, Sagrado back the other way, and Skándalo misses the clothesline this time. Superkick for Arkangel. Skándalo is unsure where to go, but takes a headscissors from Sagrado. Valiente out one way, blowing up Arkangel with a tope, Sagrado getting Skándalo with a much safer tope the other way. Fantasma and Nitro in, Nitro powerbombs Fantasma but feeds himself into a cradle for three.

3: Skándalo dropkick Valiente out in the end of a brief exchange, and then tags so Nitro and Fantasma can pose off. Nitro shoulderblocks Fantasma, Fantasma armdrags him. Step enziguri hits somewhere in the shoulder area to send Nitro out, and Fantasma chases after him for a superkick on the floor. Arkangel drops Sagrado with a spinning clothesline. Sagrado reverses a corner whip, and hits Arkangel in the corner with a step up kneelift. Big hard short clothesline by Sagrado, and a off the rope headscissors sends Arkangel out. Valiente get in a flipping armdrag, but runs right into a Skándalo Driver.

Sagrado taps Valiente to roll out of his way, then blows a casadora cradle on Skándalo. Skándalo sits down and blocks for two, Sagrado revers for two, Sagrado wraps up a casita for three.

Nitro in, Sagrado waved by, and then booted out. Fantasma in, and headscissors Nitro out. Fantasma Dive means no forced phantom attack. He puts his head into a tope on Nitro to stop that. Sagrado drops Arkangel in the corner, climbs up, moonsault misses, Sagrado and Arkangel stare at each other, Sagrado grabs Arkangel's hand and pulls into a rings armbar. That does it.

Namajague tries to kick out the whole time but it's not happening.

Bucanero and Okumura in, both try kicks but Only Okumura hits. Okumura clothesline, STF, that'll do.

Yujiro and Terrible brawl on the outside. TRT try to help, get posted. Yujiro throws Terrible into the barricade.

Yujiro kicks At Terrible's legs, and Namajague helps hold from the outside so Yujiro can get in a shot. Namajague yanks the right leg around the ropes. Tiger tries to break it up, but Okumura punches him away. Okumura DDTs Terrible, but can only get two. He wants a faster count. Tiger tags himself in and tries to chop fight Okumura. This is not a good idea for him. Tiger kneelifts Okumura to take advantage. Okumura drops Tiger with a quebradora, then tags in Namajague for a hard corner clothesline. Tiger tags in Terrible. Namajague slaps him around, though Terrible keeps taunting him. Match 5: Máscara Dorada, Shocker, Super Porky vs Ephesto, Mephisto, Mr. Niebla
Arena Mexico, 06/19/2012

  1. rudos

  2. técnicos
  3. técnicos

Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 11:16
Rating: eh
Notes: Zac is with Mr. Niebla. I almost wrote Zac is the referee, which would be too great for words. Ref is Tirantes.

1: Mephisto does the usual bit with Super Porky. Ephesto and Mascara Dorada move quick, and Ephesto is immense pain after a Dorada quebradora. Shocker and Niebla have a slap fight, until Niebla slaps him in the head. Dance! No spit. Got to build to that. Shocker stands up to Niebla's slaps and keeps walking towards him, finally ducking one and punching him to the ropes. Spinning armdrag send Niebla to the corner, Shocker kicks away his clothesline, kicks him low, off the ropes, and into a three man powerbomb, the other guys helping. Ephesto and Mephisto clean off the apron.

2: Zac stalks the ring girl until she gets away. Dorada won't accept Niebla's handshake, so he slaps him down. Big backdrop. Dorada crawls and tags in Shocker, and Niebla flees. Shocker catches up to Niebla, but in the rudo corner, and he's knocked down by the guys on the outside. Niebla spinebuster, kneebar. Niebla gets up right away. Armbar, Shocker tries to forearm out, and Niebla drags him back to the rudo corner so he can be held for some free shots. Porky in and slapped and kicked around. Flapjack, kick to the chest for Dorada. Dorada comes back with a headscissors on the next pass, but springboards into an dropkick right after. Mephisto covers for three.

Rudos work over Porky in their corner. Double suplex, Ephesto senton, Mephisto senton – and Tirantes finishes his ten count. The camera barely has him in frame, and the announcers have no idea what's going on at first. They settle on two many people in, which is about right.

3: Zac is entranced by the ring girl again, then does the spin before waling back to his corner. Niebla hammers Dorada with a clothesline. Niebla spins him around, won't let him make the tag, and then Ephesto kicks out Dorada right out after. Porky does his usual stuff with Mephisto. Ephesto kicks Porky out, Dorada runs to the ramp, and runs back for the floating headscissors. That had no set up. Tope con giro takes out the En Busca de Un Idolo sign on the barricade, wow. It was a big dive. Niebla clothesline Shocker, does the dance. Spit is – not at all caught, the win really took that. Shocker waits for Niebla to do something more offensive. Hits him in the knee, off the ropes, sunset flip, on two no. Shocker small package one two NO. Shocker 'rana (!) one two NO. Shocker leaps - into a foul. Well, there you go.

That's it.
