Match 1: Metálico, Sensei, Super Halcon Jr. vs Artillero, Disturbio, Súper Comando
Arena Mexico, 05/22/2012

  1. técnicos

  2. rudos
  3. tecnicos

Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 20:05
Rating: eh
Notes: Referee is Tigre Hispano.

1: Pairs are Metálico/Disturbio, Sensei/Super Comando, and Halcón/Artillero. The first two pairs have extended mat based portion. The third does not, of course. Super Halcón is too busy botching headscissors and throwing heel kicks that don't come within a foot of their target. I think one headscissors gets turned into an armdrag because it's so bad. Disturbio and Metálico come back in for a very robotic exchange leading to an armdrag, as part of Everyone taking everyone else out. Sensei is last and Super Comando is second to last, so he's trapped in the Sensei lock for the submission. Super Comando is evidentially the captain.

2: Sensei pulls out the Dorada (and probably Kendo or Kato Kung Lee before him) spin around the ropes corner escape bit with Disturbio. No headscissors from him, but an flipping armdrag. Metálico pulls off a fireman's escape rope bounce armdrag, just to make that more complicated. Halcón does a spot so bad I don't know what it is. Rudos eventually drag Metálico in their corner and everyone pounds him. Same treatment for Sensei does the obligatory mocking pose. Comando submits Halcón on his feet, trusting Halcón to do no more than bend over. He manages!

3: Rudos take turns working over técnicos, engage in group stompings. Nothing major. Plenty of tags. Halcón backflips and leads the camouflaged brothers into chopping Disturbio out, then Metálico and Sensei springboard armdrag them out. Técnicos have to hold up from doing dives because Super Comando is slow to return, then are just faking the dives and posing anyway. The rudos come back for more Artillero/Super Halcón, boo. Artillero lays out Super Halcón with a perfect GTS for two. Halcón kicks Artillero questionably low, dropkicks him in the corner, hangs him on the ropes, and pulls him off with the hanging spinning DDT.

Disturbio trips Halcón on the ropes, and sits on his back there. It's supposed to be a legdrop, but it's not a very well aimed one. Disturbio works over Sensei with corner clothesline, but goes for one too many and is pulled into a tarantula. Metálico planchas Super Comando, then finishes him with a spinning small package. Super Comando kicks out at 3.000001, but it's still too late.

Match 2: Fuego, Rey Cometa, Titán vs Hooligan, Loco Max, Skándalo
Arena Mexico, 05/22/2012

  2. técnicos
  3. rudos

Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: ?
Rating: ok
Notes: Referee is Rodolfo.

1: Pairs are Fuego/Loco Max, Titan/Skandalo, Rey Cometa/Hooligan. There's a there man Tuareg fan club in the cord. Loco Max headbutts Fuego while holding him in armbar, which is different. Hooligan, who seems to be in a strange mood lately, does dueling flipping runs with Cometa. His is actually better. Headscissors sends him out anyway, and Cometa is right after with a tornillo. Rudos bumble, but Loco turns it around for his team, and submits Fuego.

Titan springboard dropkicks him, then charges the corner on Skandalo and lives to tell the tale. Skándalo flips him to the apron, Titan pulls off his stunner there, headstand rope flip moonsault lands, one two three. I guess Skándalo is the captain? Everyone just stops fighting.

2: Fuego outsmarts the rudos, sending Skándalo with the backdrop escape armdrag and watching Hooligan stumble to the mat. Titan does the handwalk to set up an armdrag, and borrows Titan's back bend under a clothesline. Push off headscissors sends Loco out, and Titan backflips over the top rope to chase him. Headscissors on the floor. Cometa scares Hooligan with his rolls, but leaps into a slap. Hooligan immediately set sup Cometa in the ropes, and Skándalo adds the low blow dropkick. Skandalo repays the favor, setting Fuego up for a Hooligan elbow drop, though hooligan runs all over the place before dropping it. Loco Max corner low blows titan for the pin.

3: Rudos kick around Cometa for a while. Fuego manages to yank out Loco and slap him, and Titan springboard dropkicks Skandalo. Titan waits for Hooligan to miss dropkick him, then boosts off him to a springboard plancha on Skandalo. Fuego dropkicks Hooligan out and drops Loco with a quebradora. Fireman's drops turns out to not exactly where comet wants it, but the 450 headbutt kind of works. Loco's done.

Hooligan kicks out Fuego. Whip for Cometa, Cometa rana, - blocked, Hooligan Crash. Tied up.

Fuego shoves Hooligan, Hooligan swings, Fuego back bends under that, drops Hooligan with a Russian legsweep, and hooks on an armbar for the submission.

Match 3: Diamante Azul, Máximo, Rush vs Rey Bucanero, Terrible, Yujiro
Arena Mexico, 05/22/2012

  2. técnicos
  3. rudos

Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 13:21
Rating: eh
Notes: Referee is Tigre Hispano, which pleases me greatly. Not because he's here, but that means he probably isn't working the next match.

1: Pairs are Diamante Azul/Rey Bucanero, Rush/Yujiro. Bucanero tries to keep Diamante Azul on the mat. It is not his best idea. Yujiro wants to face Rush. They hold each other for a little bit, then Yujiro just pulls Rush out of the ring, holds him on the ground, and puckers him for a while. TR take over the ring in the meantime, splitting Maximo's legs and finishing Diamante Azul. Rey takes care of Máximo himself. Yujiro, off scaring fans, seems slightly aware the fall has concluded.

2: Rush and Yujiro have a low energy brawl, Yujiro again just forcing Rush out so he can ran him into the barricade and punch him a bit. Bucanero goes after diamante Azul's mask, and Tigre Hispano shoves him away. Bucanero tries a choke sleeper for a while. Terrible slaps and back elbows Máximo. The only bit with all three in is the setup to the comeback, Máximo sidestepping a corner charge and leading T&R into a delayed Rush missile dropkick. Yujiro misses a clothesline on Rush, and stands around until Diamante Azul clothesline him out. Rush adds him tope. Other técnicos wrap up. Yujiro goes over the rail and deep into the darkness to get away from Rush.

3: Bucanero gets his shirt ripped, takes the monkey flips. Terrible misses a charge, flips out of the ring, and backs off from Diamante Azul. Bucanero and Máximo do about 15 seconds of their usual, it abruptly ends, and Terrible comes in to do his usual with Máximo instead. Máximo gets in the kiss, and Azul superkicks Terrible out. Bucanero is slowly slid out, técnicos do safe dives, and Rush and Yujiro are back in. Yujiro is all fired up, don't know why. Clothesline have no effect on either. Chop versus forearm fight goes Yujiro’s way, but he runs into Rush's superkick. Fans not totally booing Rush against foreigner to begin with, but start once he gets in more offense. Gut punches, fireman’s drop, double stomp. Rush goes up, , top rope senton comes up empty. Yujiro kicks him in the midsection, drops him with a sit down inverted powerslam, and sits on top for three. That's the Tokyo Pimps. Yujiro is happy with his win. Rush kicked out about three, then lays on the mat forever.

Match 4: Máscara Dorada vs Psicosis for the CMLL World Welterweight Championship
Arena Mexico, 05/22/2012

  1. Mascara Dorada sunset flip (2:47)

  2. Psicosis top rope senton (3:08)
  3. Mascara Dorada rope bounce casadora cradle (12:10)

Winner: Mascara Dorada
Match Time: 18:05
Rating: good
Notes: Psicosis has Mije, Kraneo, his old white/orange outfit, and his old giant wig. The hair he has normally may not actually be a wig, I've never considered it. Cool of Kraneo to show up on a day he's not working, but he also be Mije's ride. Dorada wears his belt to the ring, is wearing his open face mask and is seconded by Titan. Gustavo is the commissioner on hand. Tirantes is referee.

1: joined with Dorada holding Psicosis on the mat in a headscissors, though Psicosis quickly escapes and ends up armdragging Dorada way. The huge hair is already giving Psicosis problems. Psicosis trips up Dorada and goes for a kneebar, Dorada out to an armbar, Psicosis rolls thru and into a front facelock. Dorada takes him down and puts on a standing kneebar. Dorada around and tying up the legs, but Psicosis does the same, and lifts Dorada into a bow and arrow. Psicosis self pin for one, Dorada squirms free and pins him for another one. Circle. Dorada tries for a drop toe hold and really has to fight for it. Psicosis puts on armbar, Dorada rolls front, rolls back, and trips Psicosis up. Face off. Psicosis kicks Dorada, whip, clothesline misses, Dorada aback with a headscissors. Psicosis sticks on, Dorada tries another, and Psicosis faceslams him. Psicosis powerbomb – no Dorada Toyota roll one two three.

2: Psicosis whips Dorada, off the ropes, over, waved by, and back with – well, Dorada is flipping before Psicosis dropkicks him in the knee, but the idea was there. Dorada kicks Dorada and hangs him on the top rope. Psicosis up to the top rope, and off with a senton to tumble Dorada off the top rope. Is that enough? Tirantes walks over to count, one two NO. Psicosis would prefer a snappier count. Whip, back elbow, elbow drop, one two NO. Psicosis lifts up Dorada in a crucifix, immediately starts to lose him, and just lets him fall behind. Cover for two. Psicosis still arguing the count. Whip, drop toe hold, off the ropes, dropkick to the face. Psicosis covers, one two NO. Psicosis can't get this pinfall. Psicosis slaps Dorada into the corner. Corner whip, Psicosis charges in, Dorada moves, Psicosis hits the corner, Dorada flips off his chest (!), Psicosis chases, Dorada shoulderblocks, then springboard headscissors. Dorada charges again, Psicosis flips him to the apron, Dorada jumps in, and Psicosis blocks him into a powerbomb. Psicosis up top – can he make it? Huge senton, landing right on Dorada. One two three. Mije makes belt motions.

3: Psicosis missed a corner charge, and Dorada slaps him one. Dorada still looks shook up from the last fall finish. Whip, reversed, flipping run (maybe not) and Psicosis cuts Dorada won with a clothesline anyway. Stomp, chop into the corner, and whip the other way. Dorada reverses it, charges in, Psicosis flip him to the apron, Dorada blocks him slap, shoulder him away, leaps to the top rope, shuffles a bit over, hops off the middle rope and springboard headscissors Dorada out. Tirantes is just trying to stay out of the way. Psicosis out, Dorada running – tope con giro touches Psicosis’ head and clear shim on the landing. Replay shows Dorada did hit Psicosis' face with his back as he went over, but that's about it. Dorada crawls back in first, but Psicosis is also in before Dorada’s up. Dorada of the ropes, sunset flip, Psicosis roll thru dropkick, one...two...no. Tirantes is in slow count mode, I see. Psicosis stares at him for a bit, then Dorada gets a casadora cradle for two. That was slow, though not as slow. Dorada off the ropes, 'rana, one two NO. Crowd on Tirantes a bit for these counts. Dorada kicks Psicosis down, off the ropes, into a monkey flip to the floor. Psicosis to his feet, looking at Dorada, running, and over the ropes for a superman dive. Kraneo waves his towel, and yells at some front row fans. Replays. Both guys slow up, though Tirantes is just as slow counting them out. Psicosis in the ring, Dorada pulling himself up one the apron. Psicosis charges, kick misses, Dorada clothesline him back, then springboards in with a plancha. Psicosis rolls right thru one, two, NO. Dorada off the ropes, springboard reverse tope meets dropkick. One two NO. Poor Mije can't believe it. Psicosis powerbombs Dorada, one two NO. Mije very concerned. Psicosis charge Dorada, Dorada flips him to the apron, springboard dropkick sends Psicosis to the floor. What's he going to do now? Dorada pulls himself to the top rope, walks the ropes, and moonsaults off! That's a thing to do, for sure. Replay of that. Mije and Tirantes watch both guys recover from outside. Dorada is up, and complaining that Kraneo is helping. Psicosis makes it in first, because Dorada is just taking his time. Dorada up on the apron, springboard 'rana turned into a self powerbomb one two NO. That was about a normal count, Tirantes cadence has been all over the place here. Psicosis drags Dorada to the ropes, up top, senton misses! Dorada covers, one two NO. Dorada spins Psicosis into position and goes to the middle rope – moonsault. But he's not done – up top for another – moonsault meets feet! Dorada got crushed on that one. Psicosis covers, one two NO. Psicosis charges, misses a dropkick, Dorada off the ropes, 'rana reversed into a powerbomb, Psicosis covers with his feet on the ropes – but Tirantes kicks them off. Tirantes & Psicosis argue about it for a bit, Dorada sneaks behind, inside cradle one two NO. Tirantes has words with Kraneo and Mije. Psicosis charges Dorada, Dorada scoops him up and sits him on the top rope. Dorada strips off his gloves, slaps Psicosis, and climbs up behind him. This looks like it's going to hurt. Headscissors superbomb, I guess! Dorada jut got over, but turned right into a cradle for the pin one two NO. Crowd unhappy with Tirantes there, but into this match. Both luchadors up slow in opposite corners. Dorada charges, Psicosis flings him to the apron, Dorada slaps him away, Dorada climbs up, Psicosis catches up to him, grabs him – superplex, chained into a normal suplex (thanks Davey), Psicosis counts along for the camera, one two NO. Props on finding the camera with the red light on. Psicosis waits for Dorada to get up, flips to the apron again, Dorada slaps him back again, then walks up the ropes. Psicosis is staggered, but watching – floating headscissors still works fine. Psicosis miss a clothesline, Dorada rope bounce into a casadora cradle one two three.

Dorada climbs to the top rope, sits down, and looks exhausted. Invasors are distraught. Dorada gets his belt on, and Psicosis shakes his hand. Mije is not taking this well.
