Match 1: Hombre Bala Jr. & Super Halcon Jr. vs Apocalipsis & Cholo
Arena Mexico, 05/04/2012

  1. rudos

  2. técnicos
  3. técnicos

Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 12:45
Rating: eh
Notes: No opening whistle, but we join with the match ready to go. Ref is Rodolfo.

1: Miguel talks about how tough a team Cholo & Apocalipsis are, though apparently not a tough enough team to get out of the opener. I am doubtful of their claimed toughness. Matchups are Cholo/Bala, Apocalipsis/Halcón. On the second time thru, Bala armdrags Cholo out, but getting yanked off the apron by Apocalipsis and dropkicked to the floor. Apocalipsis finishes Halcón on his own. Bala is counted out on a dropkick. To be fair, it was a really fast count.

2: Halcón gets in offense, is just back elbowed out to end it. Cholo gives Bala a stunner, then puts him in an armbar. I see how that works together. Halcón has trouble selling, everything. Bala fights one on two for a moment while Halcón is stuck in the tree of woe, but gets slapped own. He does backflip over a double clothesline to start the comeback, and comes back in with the flying senton on Apocalipsis

3: Bala gets in his offense on Apocalipsis, with a weird double knee to the back and thru the ropes splash to the ramp. Halcón does not goof anything up, but looks very mechanical. He gives Cholo a back suplex on the apron, a spot I'm not sure the fans really understand. Everyone gets a near fall and someone else breaks it up for a bit. Bala is the last in that bit with his diving corner tope. Replays seems to cover up some of the action. Halcón helps Bala to the top rope a tornillo to the floor, Halcon dropkicks Cholo front first into the corner, then somewhat lands a moonsault for the fall. Cholo sells it like he's died, never moving again.

Match 2: Dark Angel, Lady Apache, Marcela © vs La Comandante, Princesa Blanca ©, Tiffany
Arena Mexico, 05/04/2012

  1. rudas

  2. rudas

Winner: rudas (2-1)
Match Time: 9:41
Rating: eh
Notes: Referee is Bestia Negra.

1: Pairs are Marcela/Tiffany, Apache/Blanca, Angel/Comandante. Marcela crushes Tiffany with the double knee drop. Apache & Blanca appear to be moving very fast. Dark Angel pulls of a nice springboard flip armdrag on Comandante, only to be lifted up into a Princesa Blanca dropkick. Comandante pulls out an inverted campana to beat Apache while Tiffany keeps Dark Angel out.

2: Ruda dominated section including Dark Angel taking a gigantic spin on a Princesa Blanca hair pull, and Comandante holding her up for another dropkick. Marcela takes the giant swing, and the rudo crowd is very into their side after that. Lots of rudas hitting the técnicas and making tags. Blanca shows off a fireman's carry into a gutbuster on Apache. It's Apache who makes the comeback, sneaking in a springboard dropkicking of Tiffany. Marcela dropkicks Tiffany until she falls awkwardly in front off the corner. Double stomp by Marcela. Rudas kick her down, Dark Angle planchas them, both then leads them into a Lady Apache dropkick. Apache tosses Apache into a pescado on both Blanca and Comandante, and Apache picks him up for an Dark Angle tope – but it only gets Apache! Marcela missile dropkicks Tiffany, then goes for the double knee again, but Tiffany gets his own knees up that time. Tiffany drags Marcela near the ropes and puts on a foot on the bottom rope, one, ref stops the count, Tiffany gets her foot off, one, two, Tiffany puts her foot on the rope, ref stops the count, one, two, other foot on the ropes, count stopped again. No one in the ring seems that surprised by that bit. Hmmm. Tiffany whip, Marcela casadora, Tiffany has problems rolling thru, then reverses it, one two three.

Match 3: Black Warrior ©, La Máscara, Máscara Dorada vs Ephesto, Mephisto, Rey Escorpion ©
Arena Mexico, 05/04/2012

  1. rudos

  2. técnicos
  3. técnicos

Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 9:59
Rating: ok
Notes: Rudos have jumped the técnicos. Ref is Babe Richard.

1: Everyone else heads to their corner, laving Rey Escorpion to stomp Warrior and do his dance. Warrior misses a charge, but his allies are quickly into kick Warrior and stop him from doing anything. Rudos take care of Máscara, and Dorada takes his usual high flapjack. Catapult hold, springboard legdrop on Warrior to finish him and takes the fall.

2: Ephesto & Mephisto hang out on the apron while Escorpion lead the wells, but they can't hold themselves from getting involved plenty. Dorada take a huge hiptoss to the ramp, and Mascara is dropkicked off the apron. Warrior powerslams Escorpion, but Mephisto kicks him away. Dorada flies in with the floating headscissors for him, Máscara superkicks Ephesto one way and dives out the other, which the camera mostly misses. Dorada walking the ropes moonsault is neato. Captains in, Warrior evades, blocked, hooks Escorpion and pulls his other arm. It seems like he's pulling it the right way, but Escorpion gives. Miguel says it's a Japanese hold. Uh huh.

3: Escorpion is kicked once, runs. Dorada, looking quick, has a nice inside springboard headscissors on Ephesto, then a outside in headscissors on Mephisto. Escorpion comes in, and Warrior chases him up the ramp this time. Mephisto/Mascara slap spot leads to Mascara taking off his shirt. Mephisto kicks him in the leg as the girls scream. Máscara gets flipped to the apron, superkicks Ephesto away, and gets Mephisto with a headscissors. Ephesto comes back in, goes right back out with a headscissors. Escorpion in, Warrior in again, Escorpion collapses in fright. Escorpion mange to get in a corner charge, misses the charge, Warrior knocks him down form behind and slingshots in with an elbow drop. Escorpion slides out on Warrior, Warrior lures Ephesto into a Máscara armdrag, Mephisto hits him, Dorada headscissors him. Dorada 'rana on Mephisto blocked, and the other rudos hit him with hard dropkicks as Dorada hangs. Warrior breaks up that pin, but Escorpion this him and Mascara. Escorpion and Ephesto slammed into each other, Dorada and Warrior put on the star, Máscara goes got the tapatía on Mephisto in the middle, Mephisto breaks free right away. That was the quickest star spot ever, and Máscara was not quick on the hold. Everyone starts taking each other out, including Dorada jumping back first into a Mephisto dropkick, until they're back to Warrior and Escorpion. Escorpion slides out again, but this time Warrior smashes him with a tope. Other four in, Máscara superkicks Mephisto and jumps on his shoulders for a headscissors cradle into the campana, while Dorada springboard flips onto Ephesto shoulders and pull of the 'rana. Three count, match for the técnicos.
