Match 1: Pequeño Olímpico, Pequeño Warrior, Pierrothito © vs Aereo, Eléctrico ©, Fantasy
Arena Mexico, 03/27/2012

  1. técnicos

  2. rudos
  3. rudos

Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 14:49
Rating: ok
Notes: Ref is Tigre Hispano.

1: Cascading relays, starting with Pierrothito & Aereo, then moving thru Eléctrico, Warrior, Fantasy and Olímpico. Eléctrico looks very good following Aero. Fantasy has a lame standing moonsault. Warrior slips around. Olímpico does not much interesting and shouldn't be the last men. Rudos take over the ring just as they start go thru the order a second time and give the técnicos big combos. This is one of those falls where someone gets pinned, everyone stops fighting, and the announcers then inform us that man was the captain. Maybe they don't know in advance either.

2: Rudos hold the técnicos down on the mat and stretch them a bit to kill some time. Each rudos starts taking turns to hit Aereo. Careta on Fantasy, but Aereo and Eléctrico come form the front to dropkick them. Crowd is not interested. Neither am I. Aereo & Eléctrico try for what may have been a double rolling kneebar on Warrior, but it takes them quite a while to set up and never looks right. Other rudos break it up, and actually two man faceslam Aereo before the tecnicos make the save. It's a bit of third fall break up, though we never quite get that. Eléctrico and Fantasy dropkick Pierrothito around, Fantasy with a swinging one, and they both cover. Warrior & Olímpico are late to break it up, Pierrothito gets a shoulder up anyway, and we have a moment where it's not clear if Tigre Hispano counted three (and blew whatever finish) or if the match is still going. Announcers think it's over. Tigre Hispano gives arm signals like he thinks it's over and has no idea why these men are fighting (but he fails to raise anyone's arm.) Luchadors keep doing their spots. Announcers decide Pierrothito must not be the captain after all. Hipsano tells Olímpico just to leave because the falls over, and Fantasy realizes that means the fall is over. Aereo still dropkicks out Warrior before the referee raises their arms. Way to go, everyone.

3: Big técnico showcase fall goes Eléctrico, Fantasy, and Aereo last. Olímpico goes sliding out to end with Fantasy, slips on the floor, and bangs his head into the barricade. That looked not fun. Pierrothito slaps Aereo around the ring before Aereo can come back with a headscissors. Other rudos attack him and clear out Eléctrico, leaving Fantasy for a 2 on 2, and that ends quickly – though Warrior is surprised to get up from his pin and find out it's his partner who's submitted, not Aereo. It takes a while for it to sink in (and longer for the production people, who go the post match wide shot).

Pierrothito trips up Aero and yanks him out for Warrior's legdrop to the floor. That Eléctrico appears, nearly catches Pierrothito in a hold, Pierrothito squirms free, Pierrothito kicks, blocks, spun, Pierrothito yanks Eléctrico's mask, small package one two three.

Match 2: Ángel Azteca, Pegasso, Rey Cometa © vs Cancerbero, Raziel (c), Virus
Arena Mexico, 03/27/2012

  1. Cancerberos

  2. técnicos
  3. técnicos

Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 13:21
Rating: good
Notes: Referee is Bestia Negra. You must be monochromed to be in this match – everyone wearing black and white gear. Ref should've made one of them change.

1: Pairs are Pegasso/Raziel, Rey Cometa/Virus, and Azteca/Cancerbero. Cometa has some supporters in the crowd! His mat battle with Virus seems longer and more contentious than Pegasso & Raziel before them, but they don't actually accomplish much more. Azteca and Cancerbero come in with six and half minutes gone already and hit the ground running. Cancerbero fights off Azteca enough to give him the stunner over the ropes. Pegasso monkey flips Cancerbero, but he stands up on out of it (!) and boosts Raziel into a dropkick on the Pueblano. Cometa planchas the big man, but Virus pulls Cometa down by his mask and Cancerbero dropkicks him right in the face. Tapatía neckbreaker on Cometa, and he gives.

2: Rudos hold the rings with corner charges. Cancerbero has suddenly harness to use the power of boosted dropkicks for evil after years of being foiled by them, because he works another Raziel on here. Rey Cometa is the last to take corner charges, and so they backfire. Cancerbero flipped to he apron, Virus avoided, superkick for Raziel, quebradora for Virus. Cometa lunges for Cancerbero, Cancerbero sidesteps and yanks Cometa over ht top rope, and Virus and Raziel help hang him for Virus' dropkick. That fails too, Pegasso trips him and pulls him out, while Angel Azteca need to two hops to get in for a headscissors on Raziel. Slingshot tope con giro out there, Pegasso casadora armdrags out Cancerbero to set up his tonrillo. Cometa armdrag and dropkicks Virus into the corner, Virus flips him the apron, Cometa slaps him away, top rope tope! Hurracanrana for good measure

3: Pegasso is all fired up to go, but has to wait on the rudos to sort themselves out. Pegasso lands the front flip evasion, has a little problem with the push off headscissors but finishes it off, and then backs pin headscissors Raziel out. Cancerbero in, torito into an armdrag and a dropkick for him. Cancerbero falls to his back, Pegasso charges, and Pegasso gets monkey flipped to the floor. Azteca turns to come in, getting in his armdrag and a weird headstand in the ropes headscissors. Springboard headscissors sends the rudo out. Virus dropkicks him, and Angle Azteca takes a gentle bump out. Cometa in, ducking and headlocking Virus. Shot off back, with a shoulderblock, over, rolling over his back, and headscissors him out. Raziel in, Cometa charges, flipped to heap on, Raziel slapped away, Cometa up to – moonsaults onto Virus! Pegasso back in with a plancha on Raziel, but Raziel tips him up to the ropes on the next pass. Cancerbero charges for the sit, but Pegasso moves, Cancerbero hits the ropes and falls, Pegasso covers, Raziel elbow drops his own partner by mistake, Azteca springboard splashes both, rudos shove them off. Azteca and Pegasso drop the rudos – reverse figure four, 450 that comes a little short. Good enough for the win.

Match 3: Diamante, Stuka Jr., Triton vs Euforia, Misterioso Jr., Vangelis
Arena Mexico, 03/27/2012

  1. técnicos

  2. técnicos

Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 12:52
Rating: ok
Notes: Entrances for this match, but no lightning match. Stuka rushes Misterioso and takes away his shirt before the match, but we probably didn't need to see that before the match. They both want the Laguna jersey, I get it. Ref is Tigre Hispano.

1: Pairs are Diamante/Euforia, Stuka/Misterioso, Triton/Vangelis. They promote the second block of the Gran Alternativa during this. This is taped before they know Euforia's on the first block, but it's interesting both his most likely rivals happen to be in this match. Stuka and Misterioso are quite fast together. Triton and Vangelis aren't at first, though Triton gets in a really nice springboard tornillo armdrag to end it. Euforia attacks him, Diamante come in for his side, and they've cycled around. Diamante sends out Euforia with a bad looking overhead headscissors, then Mistieroso's enziguri on him is short, and Stuka's hop into the ring seems off. Stuka headscissors Misterioso out and slides out instead of diving, which puts him right in the middle of the rudos. They all attack rudos agree to take it back to the ring, which is odd since they had the advantage on the floor. Misterioso and Stuka fight, Misteroso spears the post, Stuka blind planchas him. Rudos bumbled into position for a técnico victory. Triton's finish looks really sharp. He can spin well!

Misterioso & Stuka keep fighting for a bit in between falls. Or, more, Stuka beats up Misterioso some.

2: Euforia & Stuka start, Misterioso gets in a cheap shot, and Euforia accidentally boots Stuka into a headscissors on Misterioso. This works for the rudos– while Euforia takes care of the other técnicos, Vangelis spears Stuka thru the ropes to take him out. Misterioso goes right for Stuka's mask. Rudos clear out the others and hold Stuka – untied mask and all - for Misterioso to slap around. They boot him out just so they can beat up the others for a while. Backdrop for Diamante, taking it hard. Faceslam for Triton. Corner charges for Stuka, stomping, then everyone runs to the ropes for no reason. Técnicos pull out the lesser rudos, and Stuka throws Misterioso around. Something might have been blown, but they didn't show it clearly. Stuka gets Misterioso with a quebradora (what he was trying before?) and Diamante and Triton rush in, and Rush back out with dives, which the camera can scarcely keep up with. Misterioso and Stuka left in, Misterioso pulls the mask and does not get away with it.

Misterioso keeps stomping. Diamante gets the mask back and gives it to Stuka. Triton helps him put it back on, and Stuka immediately gets up and chases Misterioso all the way to the back. Everyone just watches. Replays show Vangelis did not the best job of catching Triton, so Triton when tumbling over the barricade in to the front row. At least there's enough room for someone to fall there!

Match 4: La Sombra, Máximo, Prince Devitt vs Rey Bucanero, Rey Escorpion, Último Guerrero
Arena Mexico, 03/27/2012

  1. rudos

  2. técnicos
  3. técnicos

Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 14:51
Rating: ok
Notes: Sombra's red hoodie does not have an ad on the hood this week. They got Devitt's video from NJPW, good for them. Or maybe YouTube, let's be honest. Devitt has his belt. Doesn't seem to be taped up at all. Guerreros – Bucanero in Guerrero gear! - enter together. Bucanero is wearing a TRT leather jacket, he's not totally messing with his current group. Rey Escorpion has traded the chest plate for body paint. This an evolving situation! Referee is Tirantes.

1: UG and Devitt to start. Lockup, UG armbar, wristlock. Devitt tries to fight in. Lineup graphic. Back live, UG has a hammerlock. Devitt switches to one of his own, then out to a headlock, snap mare, UG back to the hammerlock on the mat, Devitt singles leg, front facelock, headscissors reversal, out, and standoff. UG keeps at it, UG being able to slightly armdrag Devitt away. Crowd chants for the rudos. Standoff. UG gets the takedown, ties up UG's legs, double armbar, rolled over for a double pin, one two no. Deivt covers for two, then into the front facelock. Devitt battles to a cross armbreaker, but UG blocks his arm from being extended ,and rolls Devitt onto his back. Double armbar again, then into a foot press tapatía. Devitt spins out of it on top for a one count. Standoff, with Devitt belatedly realizing he's in the wrong corner. Both back off for tags. Sombra and Escorpion in, which is less interesting. Sombra armdrags Escorpion, Escorpion complains to Tirantes, that's just as successful. Zero leg trips, standoff, tags. Máximo and Bucanero in last, and Bucanero right back out. Máximo can't believe he'd want to leave. Escorpion has to convince his fellow Rey to return. Máximo wastes no time feeling him up. Bucanero gets the waistlock, and Máximo annoys him from the other side. Bucanero slaps Máximo right in the face, and goes on top of his him with punches. Rudos rush to the other técnicos, UG smacking Devitt with a forearm, and Escorpion tossing Sombra out of the right and into the barricade. Drop toe hold, elbow drop, dropkick to the face for Máximo. UG sends Escorpion to find Devitt, who comes in his own. Rudos set him up on the apron, Bucanero holds the feet, and UG tosses Escorpion into a flying shit, which almost doesn't get far enough. Bucanero tells Escorpion to hold him, backs up, runs and does the flying sit himself. Much better, and he lets Escorpion know it was much better, ha. Bucanero taunt of the crowd. Both Sombra and Devitt end up in, so Escorpion kicks Devitt down in the corner while the rest set up Sombra. Catapult hold, Rolling senton, one two three. Guerrero finishes Máximo to end it. Guerrero huddle celebration!

2: Rudos still in control. Corner charges for Máximo, then tripped up so UG can get in the senton de la muerte. UG sends Sombra up top for Escorpion's run up the ropes 'rana. Bucanero jabs Devitt as he comes in, then Escorpion tries to see how hard he can slap Prince. Bucanero and Escorpion take turns, but then just leave to go celebrate. Another corner whip for Máximo backfires, double springboard butt bump for Bucanero, boost dropkick on Escorpion, springboard headscissors by UG. Escorpion kicks Sombra back, Devitt missile dropkicks Escorpion (and lands hard on his back – don't do that in this ring!) Máximo topes Bucanero, Sombra drops Escorpion for Devitt – double stomp crushes Escorpion, that's why he's taking it. Sombra Brillante Bombs Ultimo. Its' a lot of effort to get him up, but he goes back down hard.

Técnicos decide to hold Escorpion so Devitt can get in a free chop. He gets in one, and Escorpion pushes them away to escape.

3: Máximo is busy not kissing Rey Escorpion, who has much too bad breath. Devitt and UG start, evasion, UG drop down, and Devitt locks him with a dropkick to the side of the head. Corner whip, reverse, Devitt kips up and out, off the ropes, under a clothesline, under a clothesline, back with a dropkick,, out goes UG. Bucanero in and surprising Devitt with a clothesline. Chop. Whip, Devitt quick reverse, both miss clotheslines, Bucanero back elbow to escape a wristlock, miss another clothesline, and Devitt lands a flip kick to the head. Tags to Sombra and Escorpion. Sombra quickly lands a springboard plancha, Bucanero breaks it up. Sombra gets the best of Bucanero and Escorpion, then they try work together to fail more. A headscissors for one, a springboard backspin headscissors for each other. UG comes in, so Sombra tags in Máximo and UG is very sad. UG tries to talk Bucanero in coming, but that's not happening. Máximo is slapped in the backside, asks for one more. Headscissors sends UG out. Máximo spins, and Bucanero is in. Everyone blocked, kiss – is blocked by Bucanero, who shoves Máximo away. Máximo back with a springboard armdrag, Máximo out, Escorpion misses a clothesline, Máximo dropkick to the knee for him, seated dropkick misses, Escorpion springboard dropkick actually looks good. Máximo out, Sombra in, Sombra shirt off. They go face to face. Escorpion chops. Sombra chops back. Repeat! Escorpion battles back with forearms, and they're both pretty shook. Sombra kick, blocked, Escorpion kicks him and forearms him plenty. Off the rope, Sombra cuts him off with a kneelift. Rudo argue Escorpion to get back up. Sombra powerslams Escorpion, moonsault into a moonsault lands, one two three.

Sombra points up. Match still going. Bucanero in, misses a clothesline, back with the Destroyer. One two three.

Devitt and UG in. UG kicks, UG swings misses, Devitt enziguri is a bit too telegraphed by UG. UG out, Devitt out with a big tope con giro. Bucanero looks out at them, Maximo sneaks behind for an inside cradle, one two NO. Máximo punch blocked, Máximo kiss, cradle, one two three.
