Match 1: Último Dragoncito vs Pequeño Warrior in a lightning match
Arena Mexico, 03/16/2012

Winner: Ultimo Dragoncito
Match Time: 6:55
Rating: eh
Notes: Joined in the ring, as usual for this show. Ref is Rodolfo

Warrior wants a handshake. Dragoncito can not even believe he's seriously asking. They have eight minutes, and they're spending 45 seconds on this? Dragoncito accepts, nothing happens. Lockup, break. Lockup, break. Check out the front row seats that are empty. Warrior grabs Dragoncito’s arm and takes him down. Dragoncito rolls Warrior over on his shoulders for one – and Rodolfo just stops counting, though Warrior sure seems to be pinned. Maybe it's different from Rodolfo's angle, but that's not the angle we're getting. Dragoncito holds it for a bit, then Warrior frees himself to allow the match to continue. Dragoncito armbar, Warrior armdrag and takedown. Dragoncito's hair is bond? He's wearing an open mask this week, very different look. Warrior holding Dragoncito down in armbar. You have a time limit! Dragoncito headscissors, Warrior headstand to escape looks very nice, maybe it should be more patient. They end up right in double wristlock. Warrior forces Dragoncito down, and tries to pin him with headstands, but Dragoncito leaves up – into a cristo! Dragoncito rolls free, Warrior to the ropes. 7 minutes left on the clock. Reaching out, Warrior double wristlock, Dragoncito flipped to the mat, Warrior rolls to his feet first, but Dragoncito armdrags him away and out. One third of the time limit is up. Warrior in no hurry. Armdrag, evasion, and Warrior dumps Dragoncito on his back. Warrior yells, off the ropes, sunset flip roll thru spot, zero leg trip spot, bad loose headscissors from the mat, and Warrior is out again. Congrats, you did the first four minutes of a first fall, have fun racing thru everything else you want to get in. Dragoncito misses a dropkick as Warrior comes in. Dragoncito kips up and out of the corner, backflip does not go well, Dragoncito off the ropes, Warrior puts up the stop sing to do his dance. Match just kind of resumes with more avoidance, Dragoncito handstand headscissors causes Dragoncito roll to the apron, stop, and then roll out. Warrior doesn’t even much tease a dive before posing. Dragoncito climbs back up, sunset flip in, Warrior rolls thru and dropkick him. Warrior gives a look to the ref. Leverage spots, Warrior swings to Dragoncito’s shoulders for a headscissors. Warrior charges, right into a Dragoncito quebradora. Dragoncito off the ropes, waved by, back with a headscissors that barely gets Warrior. Warrior out. Dragoncito yells, runs, and tope con giros – right into Warrior and the barricade. Loud thud. Random shot of Japanese people in the crowd. They must be Dragoncito fans! That's probably why Televisa actually did it, now that I think about it. Both slow in. Dragoncito evades a charge, dropkick to the knee, Alejandria – wait, Warrior's not getting out of this? He's not. Huh. That's it.

Niebla Roja is coming to the Gran Alternativa. Hooray?

Torneo Gran Alternativa 2012! With all these people’s names who are scrolling by really fast. They're giving this one more promotion than Sangre Nueva (which would be “any”).

Cartela: Sunday at Arena Coliseo.

Match 2: Dalis la Caribeña, Dark Angel, Estrellita © vs Amapola ©, Princesa Blanca, Princesa Sugheit
Arena Mexico, 03/16/2012

  1. tecnicas

  2. rudas
  3. rudas

Winner: rudas (2-1)
Match Time: 11:35
Rating: not good
Notes: This match, AGAIN. Referee is Pompin.

1: Dalis/Blanca exchange is highlighted by an awful Dalis clothesline and the mystery “20” on her top. She looks very unnatural and robotic. Sugheit kicks her in the backside when she rolls, then kicks around Estrellita when she comes in. Crowd approves. Estrellita quebradoras and dropkicks her out, but Amapola cuts her off with a dropkick. Amapola kicks her around, Estrellita comes back with a headscissors and a poor running tornado DDT. Crowd boos. Estrellita dropkick Amapola, but Amapola creams her with a spear. Dark Angel comes in, but first to dance. Springboard headscissors goes well, step up backspin headscissors looks neat. Amapola tosses Dark Angel into the corner (or too far from the corner, but she falls into the second buckle to make it work), then charges and spears the post on the way out. Estrellita lands a silla on the ruda. Princesas kick each other instead of Dark Angel, and técnicas wrap it up.

2: Dalis walk up the corner armdrag, check. She gets booed. Estrellita manages a tricky headscissors on Amapola, then Amapola almost kicks off her skit when her leg gets caught on a kick. Rudas stomp her down while she fixes things. Estrellita armdrags both Amapola and Sugheit, but they flapjack her on the next pass. Kick based beatdown. Estrellita takes a dropkick to the apron, then the rudas tie Dalis and Angel together for the submission

3: Rudas give Dark Angle a big move to drop to a seated position, and she immediately rolls out of the way out of a double dropkicks. Guess it wasn't much for a bit more. Dropkick all around by the tecnicas. Dark Angel lands her tope on Sugheit, always a moment of terror. Blanca some how gets the better of Dalis, opting to try a gutbuster on the one person who most definitely does not have a gut. Dalis steps out of her next hold and puts on a time killing submission. This is supposed to distract the fans from Amapola being passed a bag of powder from the outside (and spilling a great bit of it on the mat.) It does not distract the producer, who makes sure to keep this all in the shot. Estrellita waits for the others to get done with their spot before resuming. She takes Amapola to another corner, they get into a slap fight, Amapola throws the powder, Estrellita ducks, Amapola rolls her up anyway, Dalis lets go of her hold to stand one inch away from the pin but not break it up, one two three. Professional!

Dark Angel argues the pin. Dark Angel sells Estrellita's blindness better than Estrellita does, checking her eyes and such while Estrellita just pantomimes the powder being thrown.

Match 3: Atlantis ©, La Sombra, Shocker vs Felino, Último Guerrero, Volador Jr. ©
Arena Mexico, 03/16/2012

  1. rudos

  2. técnicos
  3. rudos

Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 11:18
Rating: good
Notes: Everyone in the ring. Ref is Tirantes. Devitt not shown here. Felino wearing his mask for no reason. Perhaps it's a great new image to make Hombre de Negro happy.

1: Shocker and Ultimo Guerrero start so they can do all the Shocker & Ultimo Guerrero bits, though not their one spot they do every time. Shocker is moving well, or he's just excitedly moving. UG is sent out quick, and Shocker follows him out. Nothing comes of it. Volador and Sombra in to fight each other. Crowd behind Volador, who's all back spider man this week. Sombra with fast moving armdrag to set up face zero pins. They're moving double speed, but done quick. Atlantis and Felino in last, Felino running about but no more mask. Felino trips up Atlantis and puts on a knee bar, Atlantis rolls over, Atlantis puts on one of his own, Felino waves for help and the rudos rush the ring to clear everyone out. Técnicos are laid out quick. UG gets in the senton de la muerte on Shocker, Volador Spiral on Sombra, one two three. Rudos celebrate, though Tirantes knows they need one more person. UG looks for Atlantis, brings him up, whip, Pulpo Guerrero, Atlantis gives.

2: UG tosses Atlantis to the apron, and set up Volador for the flying sit. UG tries to help, gets knocks down. Running superkick for him. Announcers talking about Prince Devitt, and showing him wave to the crowd earlier. Corner charges for Atlantis, UG getting a second senton de la muerte. That never works twice! Shocker whipped in the corner after some discuss. Corner clothesline, corner chop, UG goes for a record breaking third senton de la muerte – but Atlantis shoves him off! Aww. Sombra pulls UG off the apron, Shocker gives Volador a quebradora and stops him, and Atlantis cradles Felino for one pin. Sombra pops oddly up on the top rope while those four are finishing up in the ring, but just to do a moonsault to the outside on Guerrero. Shocker's got Volador pinned next time they show the ring.

3: Atlantis and UG counters end with a quebradora by Atlantis. UG gets out after that. Felino runs fast, gets a quebradora. Volador kicks Atlantis down and so doesn't get a quebradora, but does take a monkey flip to the floor. Sombra and Felino in. Fast evasion, Sombra flips over Felino, under a clothesline, back with a headscissors, out goes Felino. UG knocks Sombra clear of the ring with a huge shoulderblock, then has time to celebrate it while Sombra slowly pulls himself back in. Sombra takes quite a while, and gets chopped coming back in. Whip, Sombra flips off UG's chest, then step over him for a headscissors. Volador in, face off between the two. No, Volador has to go get a chant first. Sombra takes off his shirt while he's waiting. Dueling flipping run, Volador double rotating headscissors! Volador is very proud of himself, Clothesline misses, so Sombra springboard back spin headscissors, Volador out, Sombra rolls to the ropes and rope flips back in. Shocker in, and rejecting Felino’s handshake. Shoves go Sombra’s way. Felino chops have no affect. Felino off the ropes, over, stopping shot, and Shocker slaps him. Felino slaps back. Whip, reversed, Sombra spinning armdrag. UG in. Crowd still cheers for Shocker. UG knocks him down with one chop. Shocker pulls himself up, and UG knocks him down again. Shocker pounds the mat, gets up again, and faces Guerrero. Chop – is ducked, and Shocker knocks him down with a chop. Whip, reversed, Shocker slides under, Shocker/UG teeter totter spot (YAY), UG clothesline misses, Shocker short clotheslines him. Volador in. Volador pointing at Shocker’s gut. He’s not Dalis. Shocker is not amused. Clothesline, Shocker brushes it off and laughs. Volador runs, but so does Shocker, ducking a clothesline and spearing Volador. Shocker is fired up, but he's also knocked out of the ring by UG. Volador with a huge tope con giro to knock him down. Other four in, Atlantis and UG knocked down, Felino puts on the inverted figure four on Atlantis, Sombra rope flip moonsault meets knees, one two three.
