Match 1: Estrellita vs Amapola in a lightning match
Arena Mexico, 01/20/2012

Winner: Amapola
Match Time: 8:56
Rating: poor
Notes: Joined with in-ring introductions. Crowd is loud? Or Estrellita's music has lots of fake noise in it? Ref is Pompin.

Estrellita being Estrellita annoys Amapola. Estrellita goes for basic holds, Amapola goes for kicking her. Amapola has a twenty step armbar that just gets armdragged and danced away. Amapola tries to put on the motocicleta, but can't get Estrellita up and they do double armbar spots instead. Near falls to expose certain parts of Estrellita to the camera people, which I'm sure they appreciate. Estrellita dances one too many times and Amapola clothesline her in the back of the head. Riano dubs Estrellita “la lolita el lucha libre”, which means he's really paying attention on those AAA shows. Also, Estrellita is old enough to have a kid who's old enough not to be a lolita, as much as they try to hide it. Off the rope evasion. Riano calls them both natural blondes, which may be a joke, or maybe Amapola was just dying her hair dark all those years. Estrellita pulls of a overhead headscissors from the middle rope, and Amapola immediately spears her. If Amapola focused for a second or two here, she might win, but she's busy trying to get the crowd to chant for her right now. Corner whip, Amapola charges and spears the post, Estrellita is going to dive! This worked out bad last time, so Estrellita just goes to the apron for a silla. Five minutes!

Estrellita dropkick Amapola as she comes in. Off the ropes, casadora cradle doesn't look like it's going to work but they figure it out. Only two. Estrellita small package one two NO. Amapola dropkick to the knee cuts of an Estrellita charges, without looking good. Running sit on the ropes. One two NO. Amapola suplex, Estrellita small package. Fisherman's suplex one two NO. Both up, Estrellita clothesline, clothesline again, cover, one two Estrellita starts to get up before Amapola gets her shoulder up. Even she didn't believe she was winning on two straight armdrags. Amapola runs an armbar into a back heel trip. They fall on top of each other or a double cover, escaping at two. Corner whip, Amapola to the second rope, Estrellita slapping her. This is a bad idea, but Estrellita goes up – top rope 'rana is shown from a generous angle. One two NO. Estrellita off the ropes, casadora into – well, Estrellita gets lost putting on her own finisher, Amapola is small packaging her anyway, Estrellita doesn't go with it and puts on a kneebar, poor Pompin has no idea what this is and starts to count a pinfall. Amapola gets to the ropes, and forces her own break. That was not good. Whip, Estrellita horrible 'rana. Pompin doesn't want to count it, but then Estrellita straight it out, and he counts one before Amapola kicks out. Amapola whip, Estrellita throws a clothesline at the last moment, Amapola just kind of stops her, step s behind, and backcrackers her. Not a moment too soon! Pompin makes the slowest count ever one two three? Not three? Pompin kind of swipes at the mat halfheartedly, then Amapola argues the count. I'm not sure if she had more spots in or just not sure what Pompin did there. I am not sure what Pompin did there! Estrellita did halfheartedly kick her leg up at 2 and half, and we're on the wrong side of the ring to see if she got a shoulder up, but why would there be any more spots after the backcracker? Fans, a lot less excited than when this started, do cheer a bit when Amapola gets her arm raised. She celebrates and briefly taunts Estrellita before walking off.

Match 2: Pegasso, Rey Cometa ©, Sensei vs Hooligan, Nitro ©, Skándalo
Arena Mexico, 01/20/2012

  1. técnicos

  2. rudos
  3. técnicos

Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 12:14
Rating: okay
Notes: Sensei on the big show! Good for him. Pegasso (matching Cometa) and Sensei both have new outfits, perhaps they had a clue this was a TV match. Tuareg also have orange outfits I'm not sure if they've worn before, but Hooligan always is breaking out the new gear. Ref is Rodolfo.

1: Pairs are Hooligan/Pegasso, Sensei/Skandalo, Nitro/Cometa. Nitro side steps Cometa's attempt at the headwalk headscissors, so he gets a twisting armdrag in instead. Nitro waits on the apron or Cometa to do something, Cometa doesn’t, Nitro comes in and nails him with a heel kick. Nitro charges, Cometa flips him to the apron, Cometa slap blocked, Nitro slaps him down and head up - but Sensei kicks him off. Skandalo knocks down Cometa, Sensei gets him with an armdrag. Corner whip, Pegasso trips Skándalo to being crotched in the corner, Cometa slaps him off the ropes, and Pegasso pulls Skándalo in position as his friends goes up. 450 splash looks great. One two three. Sensei and Pegasso clean up, Pegasso getting a ranita on the captain that's counted even though the fall is over.

2: Sensei pulls of a couple backwards springboard move, the first going better than second. Hooligan ends up throwing himself out of the ring, immediately getting up on the apron, and taking a spinning high kick from sense to fall off the apron again. It was easier the next time. Pegasso sends Skándalo out with a rope bounce armdrag in a quick exchange. Nitro clotheslines Rey Cometa quicker, and the rudos start there. Cometa takes the Skándalo dropkick to the ramp. They cut out the Skándalo low blow dropkick for a replay of the previous Skándalo dropkick, and come back into for Skándalo to finish.

3: Sensei takes Nitro middle rope low blow dropkick. Double spinebuster for Cometa, and the rudos set up the double armbar cradle from the last fall on him, but it's just setting up an elbow drop from Skándalo. Low blow elbow drop for Pegasso. Rudos set up on the careta on Sensei, but Cometa just goes to the top rope and pulls Hooligan off with a headscissors. Bad angle of it, but it did not look like a good landing for Hooligan. Pegasso dropkick Nitro out, and the rudos work over Skándalo. Corner clothesline, corner clothesline, Cometa low blow dropkick. This seems to happen between Skándalo and Cometa a lot. Hooligan and Nitro return to kick come out, but Sensei boots Pegasso into a dropkick on them both. They run for dives, but Skandalo trips him up. This is very familiar! Just like on Tuesday, the other rudos add dropkicks to the técnicos. Cometa misses a plancha on the rudos, and they finish him off with a triple submission. That's it.

Match 3: Atlantis ©, Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr. vs Dragón Rojo Jr., Rey Escorpion, Último Guerrero ©
Arena Mexico, 01/20/2012

  1. tecnicos

  2. tecnicos

Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 7:19
Rating: OK
Notes: Reyes del Atlantida enter as a group, get jumped a s a group. Maya's the last one in line, so he's the one who gets shoved down the stairs by Guerrero. Ref is Babe Richard.

1: Delta's kicked down to take the senton de la muerte. Escorpion gives Maya the top rope wheel kick. Dragon Rojo appears to have his left upper thigh wrapped. Escorpion does the flying sit, hitting Atlantis on the way to tumbling into the ring. Escorpion rips Maya's mask all up, and the rudos stomp him out of the ring. Delta brought in, and his mask ripped up too. Atlantis thrown in, and Guerrero gets to rip his mask. Rudos stomp Atlantis and shove Babe Richard back. They switch to going after the mask right after, but they also ignore Babe Richard, who appears to call off the fall. Finally, Escorpion shoves the referee, so Babe Richard goes out, finds Maya and Delta, and raise their arms. Magadan praises this call?

2: Guerreros rip Delta's mask some more. Drop to hold, stomp. Rudos celebrate some. Atlantis back in, more mask ripping. Whip, double clothesline too high, other técnicos about a beat behind on the dropkick. Atlantis quebradora on Ultimo Guerrero looks great. Técnicos all go for the rudos masks, which presents a problem for Maya and Guerrero. Oddly, Escorpion just get sup and socks Maya, knocking him out of the ring, and gets the better of the brawl out there. Other four in, rudos rammed into each other, and Atlantis and Delta go for the masks again. Escorpion returns to break that up with a dropkick, but Maya dropkicks the other rudos. Maya and Escorpion left in. Maya blocks an Escorpion clothesline and forces Escorpion up – Cerebro Driver. One two three!

Maya raises his arms - and Dragon Rojo inside cradles him, one two three. Dragon can let go at any time, but hangs on for a few extra seconds. Maya never knocks out, maybe because Dragon messed with his mask?

Ultimo Guerrero back in, checking on the situation. Delta and Atlantis in after. Rudos rush the técnicos, Guerrero misses a dropkick, Delta bumps him to Atlantis goes for the Atlantida, and takes care of Dragon Rojo with the reinera. Both give up right away, even before Delta can get spinning.
