CMLL on Teleformula #73 (11/13/2011)
Recapped: 11/14/11

Announcers are Bucanero, JCR, and Felino, and they've got missing matches from Arena Mexico during the Pan Am games. I'm never going to get to see Pólvora vs Fuego, alas. Bucanero is wearing a hat to cover up his head, and Felino and Bucanero do not really have issues this week.

Match 1: Ayumi, Lady Apache, Marcela vs Amapola, La Seductora, Mima Shimoda
Arena Mexico, 10/21/2011

  1. técnicas

  2. técnicas

Winner: técnicas
Match Time: 10:15
Rating: OK
Notes: Lady Apache has her PWR belt. Seductora – who has Kylie Minogue music of all things – is dressed up more like La Diabolica this week. It looks like there's no one here, but it's more filled out in the some of the cheaper seats. Still a small crowd. Referee is Terror Chino.

1: Seductora and Marcela start. Marcela takes apart Seductora, to the point where she's still laying on them recovering from knees when Lady Apache is in. Seductora armdrags her and armbars her out, and now Seductora surely wants out. Quick pinfall and armdrag reversals before she's allowed to go free. Mima works over Apache with high kicks and chokes, but Lady Apache is able to put her down with a clothesline. Corner reversal lands with a Apache middle rope dropkick, and a roll to tag Ayumi. Mima gets the better of Ayumi at first, Ayumi dropkicks her, goes for an exploder, Mima doesn't go, Ayumi lets go to headbutt her, and then drops her on her head with the suplex. Ayumi goes for the dive, but Amapola spears her good. Ayumi is stood up for a hard slap fight. Whip, clothesline misses, and Ayumi gets in a frontcracker. Running hard dropkick to the face looks painful for Amapola and gets the announcers to scream. Ayumi charges again, Amapola trips her into the ropes and dropkick to the floor. Marcela dropkick Amapola, double underhook backbreaker. Amapola misses the corner charge and goes out, Mima kicks Marcela of the apron, Ayumi missile dropkicks her, and reversals lead to a Lady Apache top rope senton con giro on Lady Apache. Seductora in, overhead spinning hammerlock for her, Ayumi German suplex for Mima, that's it.

2: Lady Apache gets a bit of run of ofense before the rudas conspire to trip her up on the middle rope. Amapola running sit starts the 3 on 1s. Marcela is held back from hitting Amapola and takes a Mima missile dropkick. Ayumi bizarrely goes into the corner the wrong way and doesn't turn around. It eventually makes sense when, after the corner charges, when Seductora lifts her up and drops her with a burning hammer. (That part was still random.) Apache causes the quick turn around by springboarding into a dropkick on Amapola and Mima. Técnicos flip Ayumi to set up a dropkick on Seductora. Rudos all go out the same side, and just barely catch a Lady apache top rope tope con giro. Ayumi goes up – plancha gets Mima and Seductora. Amapola slips back in, where Marcela is waiting for her. Amapola dropkick misses, Marcela grabs her legs, Amapola inside cradle, one two no. Amapola is up to argue, and Marcela locks on the double armscissors. That Amapola gives quick, and is up as quick to argue it. That's a thing she does.

Marcela doesn't as much challenge for a title match but state that it's going to happen next week. Rudas are long gone, so maybe we missed something.

Match 2: Metal Blanco vs Shigeo Okumura in a lightning match
Arena Mexico, 10/21/2011

Winner: Okumura (brainbuster)
Match Time: 8:30
Rating: bleh
Notes: Ref is Tirantes.

Slow first minute, then Metal Blanco starts flipping off everything – reversal, armdrags he's taking, armdrag he's giving. Standing moonsault gets 2, and Metal Blanco opts to not follow up. Instead, he takes Okumaru's hand, Okumura raises his hand and chops him. Whip, Blanca walks up the ropes to flip free, and then headscissors Okumura out. Thru the rope tope con giro bowls over Okumura. Metal really trying to get the fans into this. Okumura battles back from the apron, knocks Metal down and lands his missile dropkick. That's usually enough, but not here. Chop battle. Whip, Metal Blanco front flip does not land well, flipping run on it's own, crowd booing a bit now, shoulderblock, up the ropes and of with a headscissors. Blanco runs to the corner, Okumura lets him pass, Blanco springboards to the outside of the middle rope, Okumura easily pushes him to the floor, then steps out to the apron for a tope con giro. Okumura back in, Metal Blanco swats him down from the apron, springboard plancha connects, one two NO. Blanco again tries to get the fan to care, they're lost on him now. Okumura quebradora con giro #1 is not much good, #2 is not much better. He yells and poses, and gets whistles. Doesn't stop him for trying to more. Okumura tripped on the ropes, 619, springboard dropkick. Okumura goes out, triple bounce top rope moonsault to the floor. THAT got a reaction, though not a great one. Four minutes to go. Some fans are behind Blanco as he comes back in again. Okumura smashes Blanco into the turnbuckle, goes up, Blanco stops him with a slap and goes up with him. Superplex. One two NO. Okumura cradle, one two no. Metal 'rana, Okumura roll thru, one two no. Okumura argues the count. Metal Blanco kick, slam, and he's pointing up. A long way to go here. Top rope – senton con giro comes up empty. Okumura crawls on top, one tow no. Okumura again arguing the count. Two minutes to go, but the crowd doesn't seem to want to wait that long. Surprise Metal Blanco cradle, one two no - and Okumura asking Tirantes to slow down. Metal Blanc off the ropes, clothesline, cut the throat, brainbuster. That's it.

Match 3: Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr., Valiente vs Euforia, Hijo del Signo, Virus
Arena Mexico, 10/21/2011

  1. rudos

  2. técnicos
  3. técnicos

Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 11:18
Rating: good!
Notes: Ref is Babe Richard.

1: Pairs are Valiente/Signo, Delta/Euforia, Guerrero Maya/Virus.

Valiente and Signo have a spirited battle. So much so that Valiente offers a handshake after. The next two have quick sets up to Delta headscissors. JCR wastes no time bringing up the Virus vs Maya match. They keep it on the mat briefly, Maya sneaks in a jumping snap mare, and Euforia soon after is getting a cheap shot from the outside. Virus kicks Maya out, but gets kicked by Delta when setting up for the dive. Valiente planchas Virus, but rolls into the rudo corner and is yanked down by his mask. Virus adds a dropkick to the face, and this is turning the rudos way quick. Double back elbow for Delta, sent in the corner, and out into Euforia's rolling reverse cradle into a dragon sleeper w/bodyscissors – except not so much the dragon sleeper this time. Delta gives either. Maya is knocked down repeatedly, then Signo finishes him with a Gori side slam and elbow drop.

Maya is down and checked on. That finish didn't seem quite right. The elbow drop was the usual cover up for something gone wrong.

2: Felino forgets the referee's name, and JCR mocks him. Bucanero knows the edecanes name, of course. Delta is spun into a faceslam. Maya, who seems fine now, is hung in the ropes for Virus' dropkick. Virus runs up the corner on a whip and comes down with a headscissors on Euforia. Signo kicks him, Maya gets Signo with a flying armdrag, Virus dropkicks him, Delta misses a clothesline and gets shoulderbock by Virus, but turns into the Valiente buster. One two three. That's the captain, so it’s over quick.

3: Felino says hi to Princesa Blanca, after perhaps commenting on the edecan too much. Maya and have a good sequence with Signo taking a big backdrop and a heel kick before retreating. Valiente gets clipped by Virus, but evades the seated dropkick. Virus sends him to the apron in Valiente fashion, but Valiente comes back in with a dropkick. Virus out, Valiente thru the ropes out, and spearing Virus into the post. Euforia clothesline Delta down, Delta comes back with a kip up dropkick. Euforia escapes a wheelbarrow and comes back with an inverted spinning headscissors, with a lot of help from Euforia. Top rope moonsault out by him. Other four quickly in, Valiente getting Virus with another plancha. 'rana, one two NO. Maya’s sent Signo out, and he's on Virus with stomps. Técnicos whips Virus to the corner, Valiente charges in, and spears the post hard. Maya caught and dropped with an inverted front slam. Virus pulled out, but Signo comes off the top with a splash one two NO. Maya second rope missile dropkick one two NO. Signo on Maya's shoulders, but Maya pulls him down – Sacrifica Maya! Felino argues martinete, but the ref just counts one two three. Virus in, Maya slide out on a whip, Virus gives chase, Maya hooks his arm, and Virus walks up the apron post for his cool armdrag. Valiente rushing out – Valiente special hits! Delta and Euforia in, Delta flipping fujiwara. Euforia gives immediately. Delta retrieves his teammates for the win
