Recapped: 06/05/11

Announcers are Rey, JCR, and Höruz, and we're back in Puebla. I don't know with this show.

Match 1: Sagrado, Stuka Jr., Valiente vs Ephesto, Mephisto, Misterioso Jr.
Arena Puebla, 05/23/2011

  1. técnicos

  2. rudos
  3. rudos

Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 15:24
Rating: OK
Notes: Entrances. Sagrada has a giant metal Angel. Security is more evident blocking people off from the luchadors then I'm using to seeing. Mephisto and Ephesto enter together. Referee is Maya.

1: Pairs are Misterioso/Stuka (who get a lot of time), Valiente/Ephesto and Mephisto/Sagrado.

Bucanero is excited to be back in Arena Puebla. Rudo fans loudly stomp the metal, actually drowning out the announces (who are still clearly doing this after the fact.) JCR just wants to talk about Angel Blanco with Höruz, it's kind of mean. Though I don't know who else you want to talk about with him. Panterita del Ring's history in Arena Coliseo Monterrey is talked about a big deal. Triple quebradora by Sagrado, then a fourth on the floor. Announcers are very entertained. Quick clip to Valiente flipping Misterioso with a backdrop. Fireman's carry drop in the center of the ring, and Stuka adds the top rope splash. One pin, and Valiente gets Ephesto with a 'rana, and Sagrado chases Mephisto into the crowd.

2: Valiente tosses Mephisto around, then slaps Ephesto down quite well. Flying headscissors takes him out. Misterioso cuts Valiente down with a kick to the leg, but Valiente runs it around in the corner for chops. Monkey flip! Misterioso walks away, and Valiente throws himself thru the ropes to chase. Mephisto cheap shots Stuka from the apron as Ephesto is in, and plays to the crowd. Ephesto chop hits the wrong target, headscissors for each man to send him out. Misterioso in, Stuka with a back ride armdrag to send him out, and teases a dive there. Mephisto insists on a handshake from Sagrado, Sagrado refuses, and Ephesto attacks him from behind. Rudos kick Sagrado out of the ring, and holds Valiente for a questionably low kick. Corner charges for Stuka, up to Misterioso nose slap. Sagrado is held for a Mephisto slap. Höruz says Maya is a good referee, but he needs to get this under control. Bucanero thinks this is totally fair, since the técnicos won the first fall with everyone in. Rudos slap around the técnicos. Quebradora con giro for Stuka. Rudos in no hurry to finish this off, which is usually a bad sign. Stuka flapjacked and kicked in the head. Sagrado back in and kicked. He's held for a kick, one that looks quite like a foul. Bucanero defends it. Stuka back in again. This fall feels very long. Stuka gets a headscissors on Mephisto and, while the other rudos watch, topes him. Misterioso easily gives Valiente a Gori Special and covers for a pin. Ephesto pins Sagrado after a double leg. Huh. I don't know why that dive happened.

3: Rudos trap Sagrado's leg in a front row seat and all kick the seat until the section actually falls over. Valiente and Stuka rush over to brawl, but it goes badly for them. Ephesto sends Stuka into a couple fans, almost knocking them over. Stuka checks on Sagrado while Valiente gets slapped around in the ring. Valiente is so shaken up by the slap, when Stuka pulls him out, Valiente thinks Stuka is against him and shove him. They almost get into it. Sagrado in, whipped to the corner while limping, but managing to move out of the way of Ephesto's charge and getting Mephisto with a quebradora. Misterio knocks him down, Stuka gets him with a flying armdrag. Ephesto gets in a kick, Valiente gets the rudo with a headscissors. Misterioso back in and back elbow Valiente, but a slow speed corner charge sends him into the post and out. Stuka up top – dead man's plancha. Sagrado helps Valiente to the top rope – top rope moonsault onto Ephesto. Sagrado and Mephisto left in. Sagrado's limp is getting better. Up and over sunset flip is blocked, Mephisto grabs him for the Devil’s Wings, holds up him up, and lets him drop. One two three.

Match 2: La Máscara, La Sombra, Strong Man © vs Atlantis, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas
Arena Puebla, 05/23/2011

  1. rudos

  2. técnicos
  3. técnicos

Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 18:11
Rating: ok
Notes: Tirantes is ref. Zacarias is with Negro and Niebla. So is a kid Niebla!

1: First pair is Mascara/Negro, and Mascara is pretty dominate, even getting a mecedora at one point. Rudos want to rush into break up the holds, but the técnicos warn them not to. Action speeds up following a bow and arrow. Negro gets a crossface, can't resist messing with the mask. Máscara is able to roll him into a cradle before another standoff. Mascara tries to use a hairpull to get free from a leglock, but Tirantes break it up. Máscara gets the set up for a cross armbreaker, rudos try to come in, they're warned, but Zacarias sneaks in and breaks it up when no one's there to stop him. And that's just how that ends. Sombra and Atlantis, Sombra fired up but both guys tentative to start. Atlantis gets a leg lock and pulls back, and Sombra is pulled free from a mask yank multiple times. Atlantis dropping the leg on Sombra's right leg and pulling it many times, and Sombra keeps going for the mask. Tirantes keeps breaking that up, and the técnicos are unhappy. Sombra finally is able to roll into a cradle, get two, gets up to argue, and an inside cradle for two. Atlantis tries to get Tirantes to raise his arm for three, but no. Sombra does get the crowd to chant things at Atlantis & Tirantes. Strong Man and Niebla. Atlantis slaps Niebla to fire him up. Niebla locks up, is thrown down. Negros stands him back up, but Niebla slumps in the corner. Test of strength goes bad for Niebla . Niebla bites to get free, that's an idea. Strong Man blocks the single leg and throws Niebla off. Strong Man shows the bits to Tirantes, who's not doing anything about. Wow, Niebla got him in the leg plenty well – I guess that was the single leg try? Big shoulderblock sends Niebla flying. Strong Man throws Niebla down and I guess tries to crush his head – Negro and Atlantis save Niebla's life. Sombra tries to help, Negro takes care of him, and all the rudos work over Strong Man at once. Sombra peels Niebla out and gets slapped around about the head. I think Mascara is getting coffee? Oh, no he's finally in, just enough to get jabbed and thrown out. Sombra in and beat out. Mascara back in, Niebla grab him, makes a motion to Atlantis, and whips him that way – ah, that motion for a quebradora. Double headbutt by Negro and Niebla on mascara. Sombra, Niebla kicks him questionably low. Rudos holds Sombra for Niebla to slap around, so we've totally forgotten the Atlantis feud here. Negro goes to the apron and dives at Strong Man, but Strong easily catches him. Negro hammers him, but Strong Man poses him. Atlantis calls Strong Man in, and Everyone kicks the rope to crotch Strong Man as he comes in. Corner whip, Strong Man's not going, corner whip, he's still not going, all three try it, Strong Man reverses it on all three, corner charge, rudos flee, Strong Man goes in chest first. Whip, triple boot. Two man suplex with help from Negro. Slaps by Atlantis, senton by Niebla, senton by Negro, everyone covers, one two three.

Zacarias comes in to help dance.

2: Zacarias taunts Mascara from inside the ring, but Sombra sneaks up from behind and dropkicks him to Mascara. Negro has to rush over and make the save. Beatdown otherwise. Mascara is punched around and takes corner charges. Strong Man is a handful, but they get the corner whip to work right this time.. Negro hurts himself clothesline Strong Man, and Strong Man sets up La Mascara on the top rope to start the comeback. Mascara gets Negro with a flying armdrag and a tope. Strong Man stakes care of the other two, and both he and Sombra land flying moves safely for the win.

3: Mascara/Negro goes in and out of comedy before Mascara gets to the superkick. Niebla is in hurry with Mascara, so he finally gets his shirt off here. Máscara swing kicks Niebla when he's going for his spit. Zacarias attack on Máscara works as well as ever – Máscara trips him up and kicks him in the backside. None of the rudos want Strong Man. Niebla's chest slaps have no affect. His clotheslines have no affect. Strong Man's clothesline still works, and he does the Niebla dance again. Negro tries to help, fails. Toss off the top rope for him. Negro wants out, Atlantis tries to get him to stay, Negro goes out, then comes back in, and Strong Man's missile shoulderblock only gets Atlantis. Maybe he should've stayed out! Niebla and Sombra fool around a bit before Sombra headscissors him out. Negro cuts Sombra down with a heel kick. Running forearm battle ends with Sombra ducking and dropkicking Negro. Atlantis shoves Sombra down and celebrates, but Sombra has already kipped up behind him. Sombra flips off him, ducks a clothesline, and gets him with a step up armdrag. Sombra with an effortless tope con giro after him. Strong Man hammers Niebla with a clothesline, and goes to the apron – plancha onto the three on the outside. Negro drop toe hold, casita, Máscara shoves him off, a casadora into a campana, that'll do.
