Match 1: Dalys la Caribeña, Goya Kong, Luna Mágica ©  vs Estrellita, La Comandante, Princesa Blanca ©
Arena Mexico, 05/06/2011

  1. rudas

  2. tecnicas
  3. rudas

Winner: rudas (2-1)
Match Time: 13:04
Rating: poor
Notes: No one can decide how to spell “Dallys”. Luna's hair is getting better. Estrellita is wearing a Wonder Woman outfit. These teams, I dunno. Referee is Tiger Hispano.

1: They're booing before this match starts. Maybe it's the outfit, but Estrellita looks more top heavy than usual. She's not wearing an open top, but it's a flesh color shirt with the outfit on it. Which is a good thing, this match would be unairable otherwise. Esterllita and Luna start off, and are quite horrible. They're not lost in what they're going to, but the execution of their moves is poor, and they're un-obviously feeding each other into moves. Dalys and Blanca look like hall of fame workers when they follow with quick armbar reversals. This bit does include Blanca taking a phantom armdrag from Dalys, because nothing is going well here. Goya and Comandante includes Comandante miraculously being able to flip Goya to the apron, and Goya coming off the top (very carefully) with an armdrag. Goya gets a spinning armdrag, then – I have no idea has happened. Goya tries for another, Comandante isn’t really close to her, Goya just falls down. Comandante ends up holding her in a time killing submission, while the rudas get submissions. (Cameras stick with the wrong submission , of course.)

2: Seems like it should be a beatdown, but the rudas are content just standing around and letting one fight for a while. Horrible trip by Blanca here, I'm not sure if it was even meant to be one. Dalis does get spun around quite well. Esterllita is thrilled to have landed a missile dropkick on Goya Kong. Not a hard target. Luna Magica takes a double spinebuster badly and is in a lot of pain. Beatdown just keeps on going. Goya Kong takes corner charges from everyone, they got for more, and then Goya moves. Goya slaps Estrellita on the backside, Dalis is whipped in, Dalis stops and turns around, Goya probably should be doing something, Dalis ducks under a clothesline, rudas stop and turn around, Dalis lands a turning plancha. Luna does the oddest missile dropkick on both. Oh no, a dive, a poor idea. Luna helps Dalis to the top rope, where she spends a lot of time balancing herself and then lands the plancha. No, don't do it Luna! Asai Moonsault does not result in anyone’s death, thank god. I'm worried about these people. Goya drops Estrellita, goes to the middle rope, and splashes her for a pin. She's not the captain, but the other rudas just don't come back in. Comandante does seem hurt, uh oh.

Goya Kong promo is supposed to keep us from changing the channel.

3: This turns into everyone doing a move to each other. Estrellita and Luna are matched in together, and Luna sells a dropkick that doesn't come within feet of actually hitting her. They are so bad together. They are not good apart, but they are a special kind of bad together. Crowd has generously not turned on this match. I did a while ago. Dalys takes the gentle bump the ropes on a Comandante shoulderblock, and Blanco hits the Felino dive on her. Comandante dropkick Luna out, and Estrellita rides her down to the floor with a silla. Comandante sets up Goya Kong on the top rope – why you do that? - and snap mares her off. Finish this! Running splash, Comandante covers for one, stops cover, starts covering, Tiger Hispano is done with this, two three. Comandante seems to be hurting. Tiger Hispano counts out Dalis, but Dalis insists on coming back in. That means the match shouldn't be over, but Tiger Hispano doesn't care. I don't care either.

Rudas stomp down the técnicos for no reason. Goya Kong decides she’s not selling any more and challenges the técnicas. I don’t think anyone's particularly happy with this one. Nor should they be!

Fuego cuts a fired up promo about the win, while Panther wants to take this one round at a time

Match 2: Diamante vs Fuego in a Forjando un Idolo quarterfinal match
Arena Mexico, 05/06/2011

Winner: Diamante
Match Time: 7:36
Rating: eh
Notes: Diamante has a new white outfit. Fuego's mask seems faded, with some new black added. Negro Casas is wearing one of his many NJPW shirts. Terror Chino is referee.

Two tries at a lockup get us nowhere. Third gets Fuego an armdrag. Diamante gets up, and superkicks Fuego in the face. That'll hurt. Diamante armbar, Fuego armbar, Diamante takedown and facelock, Stuka rolls him on to his back and bridges for a two count. Armbar. Hammerlock, headscissors takedown added on. Diamante is just somehow not being pinned, but has to battle to kip up out of it. Fuego sneaks in an inside cradle, one two no. Diamante drop toe holds Fuego, Fuego escape to a headlock, shot off, and Diamante knocks him down with a shoulderblock. Off the ropes, under, over, Fuego waved by, and dropkicked back out. Fuego together himself on the outside, then steps up on the apron as Diamante start to run – springboard dropkick sends Diamante out the other way, and Fuego follows with a big tope. Diamante is pressed on the front row. Both slow back in, but in on opposite sides. Diamante misses a charge and Fuego waistlock him, Diamante elbows free, only to get slapped. Fuego celebrate, misses a clothesline, and Diamante grabs him. Diamante picks up Fuego, hangs him on the top rope, and lands the Volador style guillotine legdrop one two NO. Diamante would like a faster count. Replay shows Diamante really didn’t get much oft hat one. Corner whip, quick charge behind for a clothesline. Diamante stomps on Fuego and heads up – moonsault, no one home, Diamante lands on his feet, then walks over to Fuego. Fuego go behind for waistlock, Diamante causally goes behind for his own, German suplex, no bridge, no cover. Diamante is looking slow here. German suplex again (?), Fuego lands on his feet this time, Fuego 'rana, Diamante rolls thru one two NO. Diamante casadora, but Fuego rolls free. Diamante beside himself because – I don't know, he doesn't usually do a casadora. Diamante gets up and boots Fuego into the ropes, but Fuego high kicks him back. Diamante high kicks him the other way. Fuego responds with one his down. Diamante kicks Fuego a third time. Whip, reversed, Fuego charges – and slides past Diamante, taking a breath on the outside Diamante doesn’t let him sit there, running over and dropping on him with a tope con giro. Replays of that. Both very slow up. Diamante goes around the side and makes it in first, but Fuego's in just about the same time. Fuego charges, Diamante blocks his clothesline and grabs him in a cravate, Fuego shoves him off into the corner, inside cradle, one two NO. Diamante kicks Fuego into the corner, backs up, charges, and Fuego flips him to the apron. Fuego slap, off the ropes, running next to Diamante, Diamante hops to the top rope and Fuego also hops there to springboard armdrag him off. Kind of preposterous but okay. Fuego covers, one two NO. Fuego kicks Diamante in the corner. Whip, reversed, Diamante flipped to the ramp. Fuego kicks and slaps Diamante, but Diamante swing kicks him down. Springboard 450 splash! Negro Casas going crazy! One two – and the referee holds up because Fuego's foot is on the bottom rope. (Kind of screened by our angle.) Diamante is furious and shoves Terror Chino, Fuego inside cradles his opponent from behind, one two no. Fuego grabs both legs – figure four! Diamante’s in a lot of trouble, but he's moving to the ropes. Moving – NO! Stopped! Diamante gives! Fuego wins!

Negro Casas, who'd pouted halfway up the ramp at the finish, comes in the ring and shoves Fuego as Blue Panther is raising his arm. Panther grabs Negro by the ear and yells at him before shoving. Soon, all four guys the guys are shoving, and Fuego and Diamante get into a chop fight. Terror Chino manages to put a stop to it, barely.

Arena Mexico, 05/06/2011

Match Time: 9:07

Notes: Ultimo Guerrero is wearing an Angel de Oro shirt. Shocker is working hard on his candy but has a lot of words of advice to Maya. Referee is Tigre Hispano.

Handshake! Maya takes Angel down, ties up the leg, and forces him down. Angel de Oro and into a hammerlock. Maya takes Angel de Oro down while applying an elbow lock. Maya rolled on to his back of a two count, and Oro follows with a zero count. Tentative grabbing for each other after they get up. Dual whips, shoulderblock, Angel de Oro goes down, Maya gets run into the ropes. Chop fight breaks out, with Oro ducking and superkicking Maya. Oro's proud of himself. Oro slaps Maya, and this time he gets over. Chop, Oro out to brawl with Maya, but Maya drops him with a northern lights suplex on the floor. Ultimo Guerrero talking to Oro, but Maya in and running – Maya tries for the same tope as last match as on Metal Blanco, but he doesn’t hit quite as well. Multiple Angel replays as they recover. Maya in first. Oro in behind. Maya stomps Oro as he comes in. Slam, elbow drop, cover one two no. Kickout with authority there. Right hand by Maya. Oro in first, and punching Maya in the midsection as he tries to get in. Suplex – but Maya breaks free in the ring, monkey flip, Angel de Oro twisting around a bit before landing. Maya goes for another, but Oro spins and drops him on the top rope. Big slap. Oro going up with him – super armdrag! One two NO. Kickouts are coming right after two. Maya charges, Oro moves and superkicks. Outside in moonsault – comes up empty! Angel de Oro is hurting. Both up, Maya reverse stunner. One two NO. Maya fireman's carry drop, and he's heading up. Maya sits on the middle rope, stands up, and jumps off - senton comes up empty! Maya's legs fly up in the air, just to make it even easier for Angel de Oro to get the mecedora on. Maya won't give, but immediately does when it becomes a campana. Win for Angel de Oro.

Angel de Oro thanks Ultimo Guerrero after the match.
