Match 3: Hijo del Fantasma, La Máscara, La Sombra © vs Averno ©, Ephesto, Mephisto
Arena Mexico, 12/03/2010

  1. técnicos

  2. técnicos

Winner: técnicos (2-0)
Match Time: 11:55
Rating: eh
Notes: Avernos enter together. Fantasma wants to get at Mephisto, but Ephesto blocks his path. Sombra helpfully tackles Ephesto, and Fantasma charges an takedown Mephisto. Mascara runs over to brawl with Averno. Rudos win the brawl, as they tend to. Referees are Tigre Hispano and Rodolfo Ruiz.

1: Rudos focus on beating up Fantasma for a while. Mascara gets pulled out backwards on his chest. Sombra takes the seated dropkick off the apron. Fantasma set up on the top rope, and Mephisto rips up his mask rather than straight untie it. Triple boot for Fantasma, and the rudos do their triple roll pose. Mascara starts the comeback by sidestepping a corner charge, and headscissoring Mephisto. Ephesto boots him down, Sombra gets Ephesto with a flying armdrag. Fantasma drops Averno with the Flying Ghost DDT, and sends Mephisto out with a headscissors. Dive? Tope! Sombra holds Ephesto in the corner while Mascara planchas Averno in the center of the ring. Brillante Bomb on Ephesto, campana on Averno, that's it. Fantasma is hurting on the outside.

2: Sombra flips away from Ephesto, but Averno gets in a cheap from outside and celebrates massively. Sombra comes back with a headscissors for Ephesto, and a rope bounce one for Averno. Mephisto charges in, so Sombra tags in Fantasma. Off the ropes avoidance leads to Mephisto just sliding out. Fantasma stags Mascara in, and Ephesto strolls in for his side. Clothesline missed, headscissors sends him out. Averno tries a sunset flip, but Mascara rolls thru to dropkick him. Averno flips Mascara to the outside, but Mascara lands the swinging kick. Flying armdrag, spinning armdrag, and out goes Averno. Mephisto in again, and Mascara tags in Fantasma again. Fantasma misses a clothesline, and Mephisto spears him. Wild punching on the ground. Not very well aimed at first, but then lots of punches to the side of the head. Ephesto and Averno thinks about breaking it up, lets it go for a little while longer, and then pull their man back. Mephisto's rabid at the moment. They get Mephisto leave, and he poses on the apron. The other rudos take care of Fantasma, but that means teasing a dropkick and headscissors. Fantasma calls Mephisto in again. Mephisto chops the técnicos in to the corner, Fantasma avoids the corner charge, monkey flip, and Mephisto goes flying. Quebradora, and Fantasma completely rips Mephisto's mask. The mask actually comes off (because Fantasma grabbed to low), and Fantasma covers him up while going for a pin to cover. Referees don't know what to do. The other rudos attack stomp Fantasma, who doesn't want to get up and expose Mephisto face. Match halts with Fantasma on top and no one sure what to do., Sombra comes in and starts fighting Ephesto to distract, while Fantasma Averno passes the mask back to Mephisto. Mephisto is still putting it back on, very much on camera, while Averno lifts Fantasma off and throws him out. That was not good. Sombra comes back in and tornillo planchas Averno. Springboard headscissors, out goes Averno. Sombra fakes a dive, Averno goes around the corner, and right into a Mascara apron diving headscissors. Sombra and Ephesto in, corner whip, reverses, and Ephesto turns it into a corner tope. Nice. Sombra up top – moonsault tornillo! Fantasma and Mephisto back in, then out, since, Mephisto flips Fantasma to the apron. Fantasma kicks him away, back all the way up the apron, charges, and flips into nothing because Mephisto ducks down. Mephisto powerbomb, feet on the bottom rope, one two no. Mephisto argues with Tigre Hispano, Fantasma inside cradle, Mephisto yanks off Fantasma's mask and pounds him. That's the match.

Match 4: Pequeño Warrior vs Eléctrico, mask vs mask
Arena Mexico, 12/03/2010

  1. Warrior Indian Deathlock (2:36)

  2. Eléctrico triangular del solar (1:52)
  3. Eléctrico rolling tapatía (7:08)

Winner: Eléctrico (2-1)
Match Time: 11:36
Rating: not a good match. Many run of the mill trios with these guys are easily better.
Notes: Eléctrico gets fireworks! I'm pretty certain that normally doesn't happen with him. Pequeño Warrior too. He has a whole dance routine. Edecanes wisely leave as Eléctrico decides to meet Warrior on the ramp. Babe Richard backs off Eléctrico. Pequeño Olímpico is out to be Warrior's second. Angel de Oro snuck out at some point to be Eléctrico's second.

1: Eléctrico charges Warrior, Warrior sidesteps and kicks him down. Warrior busy taunting, doesn't have time to follow up. Whip, clothesline misses, warrior hits the clothesline on the second try anyway. Warrior is very proud of himself already. Stomps. Back to yelling at the crowd. Stomps. Chest slap sends Eléctrico back in to the corner. Warrior tries to start his own chat. Not taking. Corner whip, charge, no one home. Eléctrico waits for Warrior to stop stumbling, shoulderblocks him off the ropes, Eléctrico kicks him thru the ropes to the apron, Eléctrico hands on the ropes and skins the cat into a headscissors. Warrior charges, Eléctrico waves him by, dropkick to the knee is shown from a charitable angle, and Eléctrico goes for the mask. Win the match, and you get it for free, don’t waste time now. Warrior kicks him away and dropkicks him while he's down on the mat. Powerbomb? Yes, Warrior’s thrown into the corner for one. Warrior’s yellow forearm tape has mostly come off, and is now dangling from this wrists and dragging on the ground. It's an odd visual. Warrior’s seems bothered as he sets up a submission, but has trouble setting up what ever he's going for an aborts to an elbow drop. Try again, as the crowd boos, sort of an inverted Indian Deathlock. That's the finish.

2: Looks like they're clipping between falls. Warrior must've got his tape off in here. Warrior slaps Eléctrico around. Clothesline sends them both over the ropes and to the ramp. Warrior gets a running start, and tosses Eléctrico to the base of the steps. Not really worried about a countout here. Warrior garbs him by the mask, runs with Eléctrico, and tosses him back in. Warrior picks him back up, but Eléctrico slaps him down. Kick, Whip, Eléctrico leapfrogs over, Warrior back off the ropes, Eléctrico ducks down, Warrior jumps to roll over him, but stops in a headstand. Eléctrico grabs the legs and gets suckered into a headscissors. Despite that, Eléctrico is the next to connect, with a dropkick to the knee. Eléctrico looks at Warrior, pauses for a second, then grabs a leg, gabs the other leg, and ties them up, spins them around, and ends up with a Solar triangle. Warrior is trapped, not submitting but not getting his shoulders up before the three. This hasn't been much so far.

3: Eléctrico going after Warrior’s mask again. The top of Warrior’s head is exposed. Eléctrico stomps Warrior, pulls him up, and gets knocked in the face. Eléctrico crumples, and Warrior adds a dropkick. Warrior drags Eléctrico around by his mask. Corner whip, Warrior charges in, Eléctrico puts him on the top rope, Eléctrico slaps him and goes up top, top rope 'rana. Warrior and Eléctrico are both staggered and tentative. Eléctrico whips Warrior out and kicks him thru the ropes. Warrior walks around the ring, all the way to the other side, to talk to Pequeño Olímpico. Both are a little late picking up Eléctrico’s charging at them – tope con giro takes out both. Eléctrico tries to get back in, but Warrior keeps pulling at him. So Eléctrico just Asai moonsaults. Replay and clip to both back in the ring. Eléctrico corner springboard plancha, Warrior rolls thru, one two NO. Eléctrico tries an Oklahoma roll, they're in the ropes, they're out of the ropes, one two and Warrior has his feet on the ropes again. Both need time to recover. A lot of time. Warrior's fine at waving on the crowd for him – he's done it far more than Eléctrico has. Warrior punches with a dropkick, and then decides to go after Eléctrico’s left arm with punches, stomps and headbutts. Not sure why, seems a little late to have an actual plan. Northern lights suplex one two NO. He's no Vangelis. Warrior German suplex one two NO. Chop fight, Eléctrico shoulderblock, off the ropes, Olímpico is not the least bit sneaking in tripping the técnico out and pulling hi out. Babe Richard sees it the whole way – he knows he's supposed to have been distracted by Angel de Oro, but it happened right in front of him and he can't pretend he didn't see it, even as he walks over to Angel – but the rudos do it anyway so Warrior can get in his guillotine legdrop to the floor. I was expecting them to work it off a dive, it might have not been so forced that way. Eléctrico thrown back in, slingshot elbow drop by Warrior, and he covers. Babe Richard counts one, hesitates, counts two, counts three, and Eléctrico gets his foot on the ropes at four. Wait, what?!?!? That hesitation was obviously a restart of the count, but there was no reason for it, Eléctrico didn't actually kickout (and he really should've kicked out earlier just to be sure.) Fans think that was a three count because they can count. Warrior with an urange slam, laying on top pin, one two Eléctrico gets a foot and a leg on the ropes. Warrior stays on top (because Eléctrico is hurt?) and covers again, one two foot on the ropes. Olímpico gestures to Warrior to move Eléctrico away from the ropes. Smart man! Warrior walks over to the far ropes and takes a moment to pound. Off the ropes, Eléctrico gets him with a drop kick to the knee. Rolling tapatías – doesn’t quite work, awww. Eléctrico does hold on, and the second roll goes a bit better than the first. Warrior gives up.

Warrior's daughter is brought in to unmasked her father, but this is way too much for her right now and Warrior just does it himself, handing the mask to her.

Match 5: Latino, Místico ©, Shocker, Strong Man vs Atlantis, Felino, Héctor Garza ©, Negro Casas
Arena Mexico, 12/03/2010

  1. técnicos

  2. técnicos

Winner: técnicos (2-0)
Match Time: 10:13
Rating: OK
Notes: Santa Felino and scared Negro Casas have Perico with them. Atlantis high tens kids on the way to the ring. He's back in the blue and white for this match. Garza also plays with the ramp side kids on the way to the ring. Strong Man has a chain, which he rips off his own neck. That seems painful. Shirt is easier to rip. Rudos all attack him for his destruction of an innocent t-shirt. Shocker makes time to dance and pose on the stage despite his newest best friend getting beat in the ring. Priorities! Oh, he's singing too, great. He's promptly tripped and stomped coming into the ring. I wonder what the negotiations were like over who'd get to enter last here. Latino is next. This is his first match and he already has an entrance video, ha. Garza hides on the stage, missing Latino's strip show. Latin is busy slapping hands when Garza forearms him into the ring. Místico is wearing the pink cross mask here, in case we’re still wondering where that came from. Atlantis takes out him. Refs are Tirantes and Pompin.

1: Shocker gets tossed into a nice Felino flying clothesline. Negro dances to mock Latino, but they cut a way. Latino ignores being crotched on the way in to charge Garza. Atlantis holds Latino in the camel clutch for everyone to kick. Mistico's held on the apron, covered by Garza's shirt, and kicked off. Latino breaks free to pound Garza again, and Garza has to have help to turn the table. Atlantis holds Latino for everyone to beat up, and you know right away where this is going. Tirantes is fine letting it go, but Pompin breaks in to call the DQ.

2: Rudos beat up Místico some more, but are no match for Strong Man. Bodyslams and clothesline for everyone. Negro finally get in an eye poke, but Strong Man runs over the Casas with shoulderblocks. Perico tries hitting Strong Man with the noisemaker, but Strong Man just grabs it and breaks it. Perico sadly walks away, all the way to the back, never to return. Double suplex for Atlantis & Hector Garza. Everyone goes to the corner, and Latino and Garza stay in. Dramatic punches. They speed it up, with fast reversals until Latino tries to dance and Garza takes off his head with a clothesline. Kick to the backside. Latino flips Garza to the backside and punches him to the floor. Latino sets up for a dive, Tirantes trips him up, Latino gets back up, and vaults over Tirantes for a tope con giro. Negro and Místico in, both posing and not actually looking at each other. Heel kick battle, Místico wins via superkick. Felino sideswipes him with a clothesline, and the Casas yell at the técnicos on the apron. Místico whipped, flipping run, plancha caught but Místico turns into an armdrag but turned into an armdrag. Fake out sends Felino in the ropes, headscissors on Negro, springboard headscissors on Felino, Místico charges – tornillo takes out both. Shocker and Atlantis exchange forearms, Shocker gets in an armdrag. Boot sidestepped, but Shocker spinebuster Atlantis on the next pass. Spinning elbow drop is enough for Atlantis. Felino in and kicking, but Shocker gets him with a tornillo armdrag. Felino stays in, Shocker charges, Felino flips him over the top rope into a sort of pescado on Atlantis. Felino adds his dive onto Shocker. Strong Man to the outside of the middle rope – plancha on everyone. Crowd approves. Negro gets a stretch on Latino, but of course that backfires. Místico gets Garza with a headscissors, to send him out, and one for Negro too. Místico running – tope on Negro. Hector back in, Latino drop toe hold, lots of boots, Latino powerbomb, Tirantes to count. One. Two. Tirantes waves for Garza to get up, he does not, three. Garza got beat, definitively.

If you had any plans to bring this feud back, that's an odd finish.

Match 6: Rey Bucanero vs Mr. Águila hair vs hair
Arena Mexico, 12/03/2010

  1. Aguila inside cradle (3:55)

  2. Bucanero small package (3:40)
  3. Bucanero Canadian Destroyer (8:58)

Winner: Rey Bucanero
Match Time: 16:33
Rating: bad. Poor. Not very good!
Notes: Aguila walks down the steps, poses around, and then walks to the side of the video screens. Oh, probably a sneak attack. Perico is back out with Rey Bucanero. Aguila broadsides him coming down the steps, and punches him all the way down to the ramp. Aguila throws Bucanero to the floor instead of ring, and then throws him back into the side of the ramp, breaking a panel. Bucanero into the post for good measure. Whistle blows before they’ve made it into the ring. Tirantes is the referee.

1: Aguila throws him into the side of the ramp again. Whip, clothesline. Tirantes is way out of position. One two no. Bucanero fires back with chest slaps, but Tirantes moves quick to get in his way, and Aguila kicks Bucanero in the back of the head. Hip, hiptoss out to the ramp. Aguila works him over with knees to the back. Crowd behind Bucanero. Back in they go. Aguila off the ropes, legdrop, one kickout. Tirantes is more frustrated than Aguila. Aguila chokes Bucanero with his own vest. Aguila tosses Bucanero out, but Bucaneroo hangs on to the bottom rope and swings in. Dropkick, Aguila out, but Tirantes blocks his partner. Bucanero tries again, avoids Tirantes’ trip, and lands a tope con giro. Fan, totally not caring, steps over Bucanero to get back to his seat. Aguila slides in, Bucanero after him and pointing at Tirantes. Corner whip, Bucanero charges in, Aguila kicks his legs out, Bucanero spins them into the ropes, draped backcracker. Bucanero covers, Tirantes starts to count, then brushes off lint from his leg. God, this match. Bucanero agues, which allows Aguila to hit him from behind. Corner whip, reversed, Bucanero charges, Tirantes trips him up again, Aguila inside cradle, quick count one two three. Awful.

Rambo, representing the lucha commission, walks in the ring, makes a paperwork filling out sign, and ejects Tirantes. Tirantes protests, but Rambo backs him out. Impressed by the Japanese announcers knowing Rambo's name and job here. Rambo backs Tirantes all the way out. Rambo walks back to the ring to discuss with Aguila. Babe Richard is out, but Aguila's not a fan of this idea. Rambo puts Babe Richard in charge, and stats the next fall.

2: Bucanero is MIA. Aguila argues with Richard. Killing time for the ring girl. Aguila kicks Bucanero as he comes in and slaps him around in the corner. Bucanero reverses, for slaps, repeat, repeat, and Bucanero finally swats Aguila in the head. Bucanero taunt meets Aguila spinning kick. Spinning kick wins that, as usual. Whip, Aguila pus his head down too soon, Bucanero dropkicks him. Bucanero of the ropes again, Aguila jumping 'rana. Spin kicks misses, Bucanero’s kick catch enziguri did not look good at all. Aguila recover enough to grab a leg, and Bucanero lands the spinning heel kick. Aguila back up near the ropes, and Bucanero take a big backdrop all the way to the floor. That's going to take days off his life. Aguila tope con giro, going thru and over Bucanero. Both recover on the outside. Back in, Aguila cover, one two no. Standing moonsault, one two no. Aguila argues the speed of the count. Legdrop, one two no. Aguila yells at Rambo about the slow count, but he has no problem with it. Aguila walks out of the ring to argue with the fans about the count, and yells to the back. Now just standing around and stalling a bit. Why's he yelling for? Bucanero gets up in the ring, and Aguila charges and dives into the ring, Bucanero drops down, Bucanero messy small package, one two three. That was not pretty.

3: Aguila charges Bucanero, Rey tosses him behind into the corner, Bucanero charges, Aguila drop toe holds him into the middle buckle. Rey is the first one up, somehow. Both guys are looking gassed. Corner whip, reversed, Aguila waved by, top rope springboard is - aborted, Bucanero tries a clothesline, Aguila catches the arm and tries his own, Bucanero ducks that, both off the ropes, Aguila grabs the ropes, Bucanero starts to run towards him, slows down, speeds up, and clotheslines Aguila out. That was not well. Bucanero up top, plancha to the floor. Both slow up. Aguila in first, Bucanero puts one foot thru, Aguila punches the ropes to crotch him. Aguila suplex, bad small package reversal (Aguila really didn't get him up much), one two NO. Crowd is not happy. Bucanero clothesline, Aguila reverses into a crucifix roll up, one two NO. Both men back up, Aguila charges and tries a plancha, Bucanero walks around it unconcerned. Aguila lays down in the corner, Bucanero charges, Aguila monkey flips him, Bucanero lands on the apron, and they both wait for each other to do something. Aguila spinning heel kicks Bucanero to the floor. Aguila backs all the way up in the corner, charges – tope con giro over the corner. Camera man gets nailed by, or nails Aguila. Bucanero rests on the laps of the front row, watching or Aguila to geo in. Aguila crawls in, and there's the required cavernaria. Aguila off the ropes, clothesline misses, Aguila clothesline misses, plancha by both and they both go down. Babe Richard checks to see if Bucanero is dead. He's breathing way too hard to be dead. Bucanero up on his knees and waving to the crowd, who do try a Bucanero chant. Aguila is very sweaty. Both standing up, Bucanero waits for Aguila to clothesline, but he doesn’t go down. Bucanero fires up. Another clothesline, and he won't go up. Bucanero taunt. Clothesline misses, Bucanero lands his own. Bucanero beckons to the crowd, 'rana, Aguila reverses to a powerbomb, foot on the bottom rope, one two no. Both men slow up. Rey nodding and waving to try and get the quiet crowd into it. Taunt one more time. Telegraphed punch is caught by Aguila into a wristlock, Aguila with a two kicks, springboard rope flip front flip to the mat, and then the sort of powerslam in another motion. Aguila has Rey set up in the corner and signals he's going up, but needs to take a deep breath before going up. Moonsault – lands? I guess! One two NO. Bucanero waiving to the crowd. One guy on camera is very into the chant for about five seconds . Aguila goes up again, Bucanero moves and kicks him on the way down, inside cradle one two th-NO. Aguila rolls out to the ramp. Crowd trying the Bucanero chant again. Bucanero out after him. Kick, off the ropes, clothesline misses, Bucanero turns back, and Aguila drops him with a moonsault sideslam on the ramp. Both crawl back to the ring. And just make it far enough to break the count. They are so tired. Aguila and kicks Bucanero. Corner whip, Bucanero turns around way too soon and runs half the way backwards (!), Aguila jauntily runs in, and leaps to miss the charge, Bucanero off the ropes, clothesline is not within a meter of Aguila (who ducks anyway), Aguila drops him with a jumping spinning heel kick. Crowd has had enough. I am with them. Aguila powerbomb, Bucanero slips out of whatever reversal he meant to do and falls to the mat. Bucanero up quick, double jabs Aguila, Canadian Destroyer, one two three.

Perico piles onto Bucanero to celebrate, which is the best part of this. Tons of confetti in the ring. Aguila gets his hair cut off. Bucanero tries to start a Consejo chant. And that's all.
