***XXI Torneo FILL***
1) Dragón Celestial & Kaving b Blue Metal & Serpiente de Oro
Kaving replaced Demente.
2) Guerrero 2000 & Pacto Negro b Empreador Azteca & Galaxi
Flama Infernal replaced Pacto Negro.
3) Blue Monsther, Galáctico Infernal, Halcón 2000 b Pikachu, Serpiente Dorada, Volaris
4) Guerrero Mixteco, Imposible, Súper Black b Matrix Jr., Sky Ángel, Tritón
Impossible replaced Guerrero Mixteco.
5) Angelico, Apolo Estrada Jr., Black Terry, Máscara Año 2000 Jr., Tony Rivera, Trauma I, Veneno, X-Fly b Alan Extreme, Carta Brava Jr., Centvrión, Dinamic Black, Eterno, Freyser, Golden Magic, Saruman [Copa FILL Recargada]
Teams were Consagrados (vets) vs FILL (IWRG young guys.) Match came down to Freyser vs Mascara Ano 2000 Jr., only for X-Fly to come back to hit Freyser with a light tube. Mascara was unhappy with the win and refused the trophy, while X-Fly and Freyser made challenges.

CMLL (TUE) 02/21/2012 Arena Mexico [CMLL]
1) Bobby Zavala & Cholo b Camaleón & Freesbe
2) Demus 3:16, Pequeño Olímpico, Pierrothito b Aereo, Pequeño Halcón, Último Dragoncito
No Nino de Acero; Demus took his place. CMLL.com recap says Mercurio is on the tecnico side, but the pictures show Aereo (who was scheduled.) Rudos took 2/3.
3) Cancerbero, Puma King, Raziel b Pegasso, Rey Cometa, Starman
Completely different rudo side than advertised – Loco max, Nosferatu, and Skandalo.
4) Hijo del Fantasma, Máscara Dorada, Super Porky b Morphosis, Olímpico, Shigeo Okumura
Super Porky replaced Stuka. Tecincos took 1/3.
5) Rey Bucanero, Terrible, Tiger b Atlantis, Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr.
Bucanero snuck in a foul on Atlantis. Tecnicos demanded a rematch, but TRT refused.

Nearly 20% of the lineup changed, which is very high rate. Low attendance.

Tercera Caida is not airing this week, for unknown reasons. They published a note on their Twitter and Facebook, saying they wanted to do to the show and implying someone else prevented it from either being produced or being aired, but it’s unclear who that would be (TVC Deportes or someone else?) It reads like it’s an issue with this specific episode and not that the show is pulled or anything.

Yesterday, CMLL announced Princesa Blanca would defend her Mexican National Women’s Championship versus Dalis last Monday in Arena Puebla. Today, CMLL announced Princesa Blanca and Lady Apache would meet in a hair match on a week from Tuesday in Guadalajara. Those two matches in close succession sure seem to indicate Blanca’s going away for a while (but maybe should be receiving some congratulations.) CMLL did previously announce Blanca would be on the 05/13 REINA anniversary show, so either those plans are changing or something else is going on here.

For her part, Princesa Blanca says she’s not especially worried about Dalys and Lady Apache shouldn’t get her hopes up about Blanca losing her hair.

AULL has added this match to Sunday’s show
6) Chucho el Roto, Robin Maravilla, Yakuza vs Dirty White Boy, Pablo Marquez, the American Assasin
Dirty White Boy????

Rob has highlights 02/13/12 AAA.

The Blanca/Apache hair match is already announced for 03/06.

Blue Panther hurt, Monterrey, XMW, el Consejo

NdF (SUN) 02/19/2012 Arena Coliseo Monterrey [LyC (3), LyC (4), LyC (5), RFC]
1) Principe Leon b Xtreme Boy
2) Black Poison & Rudy Butire b Angel Solitario & Danger Boy
3) Gardeina Azteca, Rosa Salvaje, Sexy Maciel b Androide, Hijo Del Mongol Chino, Maravilloso Jr.
4) Angel Dorado Jr., Dralion, Turbina NC Gemelo Muerte I, Gemelo Muerte II, Genocida
MMA-er Alejandro Baez ran in and attacked members of both teams, particularly amateur trained wrestlers Genocida and Dralion. He used famous MMA moves like a F5 and horizontal suplex.
5) Hijo del Ninja & Rey Apostol b Genocida & Hijo Del Mongol Chino
Straight falls. Special match taped for a Hijo del Ninja movie. Kids hit the ring to celerbate with him after the match.
6) Big Neurosis, Golden Boy, Tun-Tun b Mago Miadow, Rico Rodriguez, Simbolo
Rico Rodriguez got annoyed with his celebrity Magician partner and tripped him up, leading to Neurosis pin. Simbolo also turned on Miadow after the match, reunited with Neurosis. Batman de Pura Gente Bien and Hijo del Ninja tried to make the save.

Sunday’s XMW show wasn’t too notable in the results – the usual many indecipherable title matches plus Necro Butcher & Low Rider. There was one more interesting name: Magnus, wrestling as part of team XMW vs team International. That’s now where you’d normally see a CMLL student. Magnus also randomly mentioned Perros del Mal last night; I agreed with this response.

CMLL.com has a video of Blue Panther in pain from a left knee injury. No sign he’s actually out of Dos Leyendas, but this might hurt him in that match. Things always seem to go wrong for Blue Panther just before a big match.

Marisela Pena, adopting an appeasement strategy which would make Neville Chamberlain proud, met with El Consejo and seems to have given them a match on Rey de Reyes. This strategy of giving invaders matches has not seemed to work with TNA, Perros del Mal, with La Socidedad, with the Foreign Legion, and with LLL, but AAA keeps on trying. In the fictional universe of AAA, they are not the mostly successful owners, constantly under siege (and mostly losing) and having their best wrestlers all turn on them. They didn’t even really recruit Cibernetico or Wagner or Jack to their side, those guys were either turned on or their rivals just happened to go to the other side and they decided they might as well help AAA.

If Pena/Roldan are UK, then I think that means Texano is Germany – used to hang out with a nazi – Toscano is Italy and Mascara Ano 2000 Jr. is Japan (in that we don’t know why they’re involved here.) Anyway, Mascara Ano 2000 Jr. figures all the Naucalpan fans are going to cheer for him on Thursday, since it’s his arena.

Angel Blanco Jr. says Santo doesn’t want to do the three way with Hijo del Solitario because he’s scared. People think Santo is invincible because he beats Frankenstein and mummies and vampires, but now he has to deal with real fighters and doesn’t want do it. Blanco and Solitario already plan on cutting Santo’s mask in two and touring the world with the halves. Hijo del Solitario repeated his claim that Santo buys his mask wins outside the ring and is nothing more than a marketing creation.

Tonight’s Arena Mexico show is headlined by TRT vs Reyes del Atlantida. IWRG has a FILL show tonight.

LuFisto and Joe Lider, who had a hardcore match against each other 7 years ago, ran into each other at the X-Project shows. LuFisto is not doing hardcore matches, but Lider seems to have talked her into a rematch. Only Joe Lider would talk a woman into hitting him with a light tube.

IWL, when not busy posting all caps messages, is selling DVDs of the IWL Versus DTU show for 50 pesos ($4 USD). No mention of international shipping, just a phone number to call. DTU seems to be putting this show up on YouTube.

5) Marco Corleone, Máximo, Rush vs Rey Bucanero, Terrible, Tiger

TRT vs Bufete del Amor, now in non-title matches.

This appears to be Dalis’ first title shot ever. She somehow did not get a shot during Amapola’s reign of terror.

The story of the semimain is Euforia & Virus turned on Loco Max last night in the tercera. Instead of the Loco vs Centella feud they seemed to be setting up, this now looks like a Puebla (Pegasso!) vs Cancerbero feud.

DDD (SUN) 02/19/2012 Arena Lopez Mateos [Estrellas del Ring, MT (5), MT (rest)]
1) Terremoto Negro, Tornado, Tritón (IWRG) b Belial, Black Mamba, Hades
2) Angelico b Zumbi
3) Lufisto b La Vaquerita [LUCHA POP WOMEN]
4) Juventud Guerrera DQ Zema Ion
Juvi was about to win when Samurai del Sol and Sami Callihan ran in to attack. Juvi challenged Xion to a hair vs hair match.
5) Daga b Super Crazy, Joe Lider [X-LAW JH]
Davey Richards was earlier announced as not being present (and elsewhere, having suffeblack a concussion.) Both Crazy and Lider arrived to challenge Daga, with Crazy putting his X-LAW title on the line. This was the match, with Crazy losing first and Daga beating Lider to win the title.
6) Sami Callihan & Samurai del Sol b Trauma I & Trauma II [AULL TAG]
While Trauma I took out Samurai with a dive and the referee checked on them, Sami piledrove Trauma II and got the pin. Moved up to the main event.

VO (SUN) 02/19/2012 Arena Lopez Mateos [Black Terry Jr. (flickr), Estrellas del Ring, MT]
1) Dark Side, Epidemia, Heavy Boy b Angelical, Crossfire, Stukita
2) Mohicano III & Ray Richard b Danny Boy & Gran Apache II
Lots of bleeding.
3) Drako b Tony Rodriguez, Sádico, Kaientai, Icaro [XProject CHAMP]
Drako, representing OMEGA won the new title over luchador from KBW (Sadico), NWG (Tony Rodriguez), NGX (Kaientai), Super X (which apparently still exists?, Icaro)
4) Cerebro Maligno, Crazy Star, Dr. Cerebro, Epitafio, Herejía, Kansuke, Rey del Krimen b Destello Negro, El Abuelito, Halcón 2000, Hijo de Clímax, Latin Star, Marvilla Negra, Maverick [Copa Cesar]
Impromptu 7 v 7 match, featuring members of Valerie Office vs “MTA”, most of the rudo ATM group from IWL having jumped promotions (including Trolli!) Match came down to Latin Star vs the Cerebros and Kansuke. Star defeated Maligno, defeated Kansuke, but the Doctor stopped him for the loss.
5) Vanely & Yuki Star b Big Mama & La Felina
6) Fenix (AAA), Freelance, Sugi San b Dark Dragon, Samurai del Sol, Zema Ion
Fenix got Dark Dragon with the double knees to the face. Money thrown in the ring after the match.
7) El Mesías b Blue Demon Jr., Sami Callihan
Sami was the surprise wrestler. Traumas showed up on the ramp to distract Sami (playing off the earlier show) and Mesias took advantage, spearing Sami thru a table. Demon couldn’t break up the pin in time.
8) LA Park, La Parka Jr., Super Parka b Raven, Super Crazy, Tommy Dreamer
Raven and Dreamer had a falling out in the match. LA Park defeated Raven, ending racism forever. Lots of violence, lots of bleeding.

I know these shows were recorded and I believe there is a plan for DVD release. Hopefully we’ll hear more about that down the line. No next show announced.

IWRG (SUN) 02/19/2012 Arena Naucalpan [The Gladiatores]
1) Astro de Plata & Astro Rey Jr. b Pacto Negro & The Mummy
first main show appearance for the Mummy, who earlier showed up on the Christmas Day Wagner promotions show.
2) Gemelo Fantastico I, Gemelo Fantastico II, Violento Jack b Charly Madrid, Dinamic Black, Golden Magic
Violento Jack used a piledriver setting up the win.
3) Carta Brava Jr. b Alan Extreme [IWRG IC Light]
Carta took the first, Alan took the second. Alan tried for a top rope powerbomb in the third, Carta reversed to a ‘rana, then added a splash for the win to keep his title.
4) Eterno b Centvrión [IWRG IC WELTER]
Violento Jack (Eterno) and Freyser (Centvrion) were the seconds. Eterno won the first, Centvrion won the second with a super Styles Clash. Seconds started getting involved in the third. Eterno got to the ropes a crab, then kept stopping the ref’s hand from hitting the mat for a third count. Eterno dived onto Freyser, ref watched that and not Violento piledriving Centviron, and that was enough for Eterno to win and keep his title.
5) Cien Caras Jr., Hijo de Máscara Año 2000, Máscara Año 2000 Jr. DQ Angelico, Texano Jr., Toscano
Capos pinned Texano Jr. & Toscano using the ropes in the first. They blamed it on Angelico, who had done a dive and not made it back. Angelico aimed for Mascara Jr. in the second and hit Texano, which upset his partners more. Angelico probably should’ve just called it a night right then, but he went onto accidentally knock off Mascara Ano 2000 Jr.’s mask while trying to submit him, and was called for the DQ. Texano, Toscano, and Mascara beat up Angelico and declared they were bringing El Consejo to Arena Naucalpan.

X-Fly won XMW’s title, defeating Dance Boy in an elimination match that also included Necro Butcher. Halloween speared Dance Boy to set up his ally’s pin.

Averno losing the CMLL trios titles on Sunday means he has no more titles. It was clear he was willing to lose all of his championships in the ring before leaving to CMLL and almost certainly would. It took a lot longer to get there. If that title change had happened last Fall, I’d figure that meant Averno had gotten a start date in FCW. Now, that’s still possible, but CMLL’s obviously high on Rush, Maximo and Marco as a trio and they could be just winning the trios title for nothing to do with Averno.

What it does mean is Averno could leave at any point without much notice. Right now, I don’t have any upcoming matches for Averno except for a CMLL show in Arena Aficion next month (and no word on this Sunday at Coliseo yet.) His schedule has been way down this month; just the trios title program, the appearance in the incredible pairs tournament, and the two big outside shows (the PRI one and Parque Interlomas they’ve been pushing hard on TV.) No Guadalajara or Puebla trips, only the one Friday night appearance, no Tuesday shows…

AAA’s confirmed it’s upcoming TV taping schedule

02/23: Arena Naucalpan
03/02: Toluca
03/11: Ecatepec – taking the place of Leon.
03/18: Zapopan – Rey de Reyes.

That still doesn’t quite make sense unless they’re getting pre-empted this week or next. As is, Naucalpan will have to be turned around in a two days and Toluca will have to be edited and sent out to the regional networks in a matter of hours to air on 03/03. Even if they can manage that, they would have to post produce Ecatepec in negative one days.

The Huracan Ramirez who wrestled in Arena Coliseo Guadalajara show – who had previously wrestled as Huracan Ramirez Jr. on Dantes’ shows – says he’s going to tour India with Blue Demon and El Hijo del Santo around Easter.

El Pancracio has interviews with the Murcileago Imperials and Rey Dinamico.

Rob has highlights of 07/26/11 Arena Naucalpan.

5) Villano III, Villano IV, Villano V b Brazo de Oro, Brazo de Plata, Brazo de Platino
Villanos took the first, Brazos took the second, both teams bleed, and Villano III snuck in a foul on Oro for the win. Talk of a cage match followed.

CMLL (SUN) 02/19/2012 Arena Mexico [CMLL, La Catedral]
1) Pequeño Nitro & Pequeño Violencia b Aereo & Pequeño Halcón
Rudos take 1/3.

Fuego replaced Pegasso. Hooligan was wearing a Panther-ish mask. Rudos took 1/3.

Diamante replaced Metro. Rudos take 1/3, third in a row.
4) Blue Panther, Delta, Hijo del Fantasma DQ Felino, Negro Casas, Rey Escorpion
Negro Casas smacked Panther with the Peste Negra trash can for a first fall DQ. After a Phantom Lartat went awry, Negro fouled Fantasma for the second straight DQ.
5) Marco Corleone, Máximo, Rush b Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto [CMLL TRIOS]
Rudos took fall 1 quick, tecnicso took fall 2 in a little longer. Ephesto and Maximo were eliminated in the third, and Marco pinned Averno with the Mark Of Excellence. New champions.

I’ll do X-Project full results tomorrow, after the blogs have had a chance to put up their reports. Stuff gleemed from live Twitter reports

  • the shows ran about 7h30m, including a 45 minute break between the shows. The DDD show looks to have wrapped just about when the Valerie Office show was supposed to start, so they were running late all night.
  • The DDD show looks half full, while the late show seems about a sell out.
  • Davey Richards did not wrestle, said due to a concussion suffered in Tennessee. He was not at the show. DDD ran a Daga vs Joe Lider vs Super Crazy three way for the X-LAW junior heavyweight championship instead, which Daga won.
  • LuFisto also won the LuchaPOP title.
  • The Sami Callihan/Samurai del Sol vs Traumas match main evented the DDD show and was said to be great. Same thing for the trios match with the Samurai, Ion, Dragon vs Fenix, Sugi and Freelance.
  • Most of IWL’s ATM faction (except for ATM and Fantasma de la Quebrada, the leaders) “jumped” to this group as “MTA”. They had new t-shirts and won a battle royal.
  • Sami Callihan was the mystery man in the thee way with Demon and Mesias, with the Traumas causing Mesias to beat Sami.
  • Parkas beat the ex-ECW crew in the main event.

1) Sensei & Tigre Blanco b Artillero & Súper Comando
2) Arkángel de la Muerte, Nitro, Skándalo b Ángel Azteca Jr., Dragon Lee, Rey Cometa
Dragon Lee’s return from injury. CMLL raved about him and he won the second with a SSP, but the rudos took 1/3, the last with Nitro beating Cometa.
3) Misterioso Jr., Shigeo Okumura, Vangelis b Fuego, Sagrado, Sangre Azteca
Super Rosa Driver on Sagrado gave Misterioso’s team the win. Sagrado was strechered out.
4) Máscara Dorada & Volador Jr. b Euforia & Guerrero Maya Jr. [natl pi, eightfinal]
5) Máximo & Mephisto b La Sombra & Mr. Águila [natl pi, eightfinal]

Averno walked out on Mascara immediately after the win.
8) La Sombra & Mr. Águila b Máscara Dorada & Volador Jr. [natl pi, quarterfinal]
said to be great. Volador seemed to have a hamstring injury at the end of this match.
9) Atlantis & Mr. Niebla b Averno & La Máscara [natl pi, quarterfinal]
Averno & Mascara started accidentally hitting each other, then switched to not so accidentally hitting each other. Opposition won.
10) Atlantis & Mr. Niebla b La Sombra & Mr. Águila [natl pi, semifinal]
Mije came out with Mr. Aguila for another fight with Zacarias. Clean win via submissions.

SuperLuchas wonders if Hernandez is the surprise luchador in next Thursday’s AAA TV taping at Arena Naucalpan.

Enrique Yniesta teased Zorro, Cibernetico and/or Wagner may be coming back to CMLL. Last week, Leo Riano tweeted he had a “dream” of Cibernetico vs Mesias in CMLL. Add in the stuff from the WON the last couple of weeks, and it’s pretty clear CMLL is trying to get someone to come in (and Dos Leyendas would be the time to do it) and they’re not being very quiet about it. (Enrique’s talking about it because CMLL’s banned him, I believe.)

I would be absolutely floored if Wagner left AAA. Mildly shocked if Mesias came over too. It would be no surprise if Cibernetico wanted to move on now since he’s been dropped in the pecking order so far, but the CMLL hardcores would despise him. It could go worse than Electroshock’s CMLL run. Zorro was a guy I very much wanted to see CMLL bring over in 2009 and 2010, but one who looked totally disinterested in lucha libre the last year and not in great physical shape. He’s even more lost in the shuffle than Cibernetico and I’d totally believe he’d want to go to CMLL, but he’s earned his way to his current position and it’d be annoying for CMLL to put him on top without him making a few changes.

Metro says the idea to get a new name & look was his. He may have thought of the idea, but so did just about everyone else. (And lots of people have ideas that CMLL doesn’t exactly let them do.) Someone, and I can’t remember who, noted the design on the mask is very similar to Mascara Dorada’s Metalik mask.

At the Todos x el Todos press conference, Solitaro was annoyed the mask match with Santo keeps getting pushed back. It seems to me like Villano IV was added to this feud to give them another way out of doing the mask match they’re promoting (though I think the V4 mask actually means more than Hijo del Solitario or Angel Blanco Jr.), but we’ll see where they’re going next week.

An all star crew of “what happened to you?” are wrestling on March 2nd in San Antonio: Magnus, the (supposed to be) soon to debut Hijo del Espanto, Laredo Kid, Low Rider (somehow not on any of the big indy shows?) and Histeria.

El Consejo” posted a video of their antics at the last AAA taping. It’s a sub two minute long video package and Argos still manages to botch a move. He’s never going to change.

LuchaWorld has the newest Slammin’ Stan.

Lineups

CMLL (FRI) 02/24/2012 Arena Mexico
1) Astral & Eléctrico vs Pequeño Nitro & Pequeño Warrior
2) Dalis la Caribeña, Estrellita, Marcela vs Amapola, La Seductora, Zeuxis
3) Diamante, Dragon Lee, Triton vs Hijo del Signo, Namajague, Shigeo Okumura
4) Marco Corleone & Último Guerrero vs Felino & Rey Bucanero and Delta & Ephesto and Black Warrior & Rey Escorpion and Rush & Terrible and Pólvora & Stuka Jr. and Ángel de Oro & Psicosisand Hijo del Fantasma & Misterioso Jr. [natl pi, semifinal]

Okay, so I don’t know what “national” means, but that’s okay, neither does CMLL.  Marco & Ultimo are the overwhelming favorite to go the final. Atlantis and Ultimo Guerrero are magnets, you just can’t keep them apart right now, and Marco and Niebla seem to be matched up a lot too. The only other A-level teams are Rush & Terrible and Felino & Bucanero (not an increible pair!), but both of those teams seem certain to attack each other before the night is over.
