CMLL FSE GdR - 11/09/08 (#118)
Recapped: 11/11/08

Announcer stand up is back, with Maximo, but not with Magadan. So they just spend the whole thing talking about Magadan behind his back. How rude.

Match 1: Virus (c), Euforia, Nosferatu vs Mascara Purpura, Flash, Stuka Jr. (c)
Arena Coliseo, 11/02/08

  1. tecnico
  2. rudos
  3. rudos

Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 14:51
Approx Rating: Good
Other Match Notes: Entrances. Flash has a skull mask on - for the dead of the dead? Who can say. Stuka and Flash talk about the Infernales and the Arena Coliseo tag team titles, and then holds the microphone for Flash. Not close enough to Flash to actually hear him, and apparently we've only got one take at this things. Flash thinks they and Purpura are going to win today. Infernales actually enter as a team, surely breaking many rules of spending as much time on entrances as possible. No rudo interview?

Joined in mid Stuka/Virus sequence. Virus is owning Stuka, and Stuka is just getting to his feet. Stuka finally is able to trip up Virus, but Virus is back in control a second later. Stuka gets him with an armdrags, and gets - booed? Everyone seems confused. Tags. Flash and Euforia. Lockup, no, lockup, Flash goes behind for a hammerlock, Euforia grabs him in a snap mare and takes him over. Flash reverses to a headscissors, Euforia rolls out and toes up the legs. Flash tries to push his way out as Euforia tightens his grip. Flash grabs Euforia's head, Euforia reverses to a hammerlock as they get up. Jumping snap mare sends Euforia to the corner. Standoff for a second. Lockup, Euforia trips up Flash, Flash armdrags him from the mat. Euforia is disorientated for a second, ending up in the tecnico corner before getting back to circling. Lockup, lockup, break, Euforia flips Flash over his hip and does something which the director finds not as interesting as Virus standing there. Euforia's ready to get out while the getting is good, tagging Nosferatu. Flash won't take that, and shoves Euforia. Euforia takes a step towards him, then changes his mind and leaves. Nosferatu and Purpura in. Purpura tries to get the crowd to make some noise. Nosferatu is mock impressed. Purpura over, waved by, springboard flip for no reason, and Nosferatu less than gracefully boots him in the midsection.  Big chest slap. Whip, boot, Purpura slides under, gets up, gets chopped anyway. Never mind. Whip, no, corner whip, reversed, Purpura charges in, gets flipped to the apron, fights Nosferatu away, up top  and off with a flying headscissors. Purpura's grabbing the back of his head, though he didn't seem to hit it there. That backflip was odd and I think he must still be dizzy from it. Even so, he still can do a handspring dive fake, setting up Nosferatu for Stuka's - well, something in the con giro family, we missed it until the end. Euforia gives Purpura with a running boot, Flash waits, waits a big longer, and slingshots in with a headscissors on Euforia. Virus in, Virus backdropped Don't run! Flash gives him a spinebuster, and is all fired up for Purpura's SSP. Maybe because he's not the one taking it? This one's fine, and enough for three and the fall.

Lots of watching wrestlers and fans just stand around in between falls before they get to replays. I guess that's more exciting than the first few minutes of this fall? They don't have a replay of Stuka's dive.

2: Stuka and Virus again. Virus still hasn't taken off his half mask. He's just not doing it and you can't make him. Big slap to Stuka's face. Stuka falls down, gets up, turns to Virus and kicks him. Virus batters him with a chop to the chest, and Stuka stumbles to one knee. Virus tell him to bring it. Slap barely budges him. Off the ropes, over, up and over - no, Stuka stops in front, avoids a clothing, off the ropes flipping run, off the ropes once more, and a headscissors sends Virus out. Stuka tease a dive, Virus runs for safety. Flash and Euforia. Flash off the ropes, headstand over, and another headstand for fun. Euforia flips out Flash on a clothesline, and is a lot happier with that flip. Big loud chop. Corner whip, Flash reveres, Flash charges in, Euforia moves out of the ropes, Flash leans over the ropes, and leans back in for a headscissors on Euforia. That was so weird, people started clapping. Springboard headscissors sends Euforia out towards the ramp. Flash off the far ropes, jumping to the top rope on the ramp side, and off with a big plancha to the floor. Tecnicos are rolling now. Nosferatu misses a dropkick on Stuka and gets chopped and corner whipped. Stuka follows, but Virus backdrops his partner to safety and kicks Stuka away. Purpura gets dropped, Stuka gets dropped, and Nosferatu adds the big splash. One two three. That's the fall, but Virus kills Purpura with a Gory Bomb for good measure - Purpura forgot to get his head up! It looks like he might have got it at the last second (or it could've just been forced by the impact), but he's in some pain right now. While Nosferatu informs his partner that yes, they actually won that fall, Flash and a referee are quickly checking on Purpura. He's been holding his head during the show, but even more so now.  Crowd doing the Ole chant for no reason I can discern, but the rudos are happy with it. Replays of Flash's dive. That leap to the top rope was perfect.

Whistle actually blows for the next fall while we're still watching replays of fall 2.

3: There's about 20 seconds of this fall before they take the break. Purpura does stick around, but he's holding his neck as if he's worried his head may fall off and in obvious pain. Meanwhile, Flash, then Stuka get beatdown. Stuka gets upended by a Virus tackle, which seems to catch everyone on both sides from behind. Stompdown on him. Purpura actually comes back in, which gets a cheer, though it's kind of dumb. So they show Stuka and Flash talking instead of whatever happens with Purpura. They get back to it, eventually. Corner whip, corner clothesline, whipped out into - that's the point where they normally do a spinebuster, but Virus thought better of it and gave him an inverted atomic drop. Smart man. Virus then keeps out Purpura's partners, while Nosferatu tries to break Purpura's knee. Virus stretches Purpura's face near the ropes (Purpura waving to Alexis to come over and take the picture already, so maybe he'll stop.) Purpura's partners are knocked off the apron again, so Purpura's got to do this himself. Whip, over, under a double clothesline, and connecting a springboard double back elbow. Nosferatu is left standing, and Purpura soon isn't - SPEAR. Purpura rolls out for his life, and Flash is in after a break to hit a missile dropkick on him. Virus kicks out Flash, Stuka gets Virus with an armdrag. Stuka charges Virus, Virus flips him to the apron, Stuka fights off Virus and Nosferatu on the floor, but Virus kicks the middle rope as Stuka tries an Asai. Virus turns around, and Purpura's waiting for him with a springboard armdrag. Purpura running - but cut off and killed by a Euforia big boot. Flash, very much on time, lands a springboard clothesline on Euforia. Flash off the ropes, Euforia lifts him up, Flash - uh, steps down. That can't be right. Maybe Euforia shoved him off? Whatever, Euforia decides this is time in the match where he wins - kick, Euforia Special. Flash is not the captain, so this fall goes on - except Rafael el Maya wants to awards the match to the rudos until he's informed of the rules. Good for a referee to not know the captains. Nosferatu is ripping at Purpura's mask, and I have no idea where Stuka is now. Rudos wave Nosferatu in while the refs finish the countout, and that's it. Did Stuka get hurt there? He's still kinda down. An odd finish for sure.

Match 2: Skandalo, Texano Jr., Averno (c) vs Maximo, La Mascara, Volador Jr. (c)
Arena Coliseo, 11/02/08

  1. rudos
  2. tecnicos
  3. tecnicos

Winner: tecnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 12:07
Approx Rating: Fine
Other Match Notes: Maximo's promo about Averno, Terrible and (edited) airs before the entrances. Volador's crimson shirt actually looks good. He also does a promo, so I guess Maximo's promo was for the open, except he did the standup instead. Volador sounds like he needs to cut down on the smokes. Averno points to something off screen about three different times during his walk down the ring, and they never pan over to show it once. Averno does the promo for his team.

1: Some fooling around before this gets started. Averno is all ready to go, then changes his mind and tags out rather than wrestle Maximo. Very odd to see Averno back without a shirt; they go over that story on commentary and there's no Perros stuff on either Averno or Terrible. Averno tags in Terrible, which scares Maximo into looking for a tag, but his partners push him back in. No hurry to lockup here. Maximo has a message on the back of his shirt, which I'm not even going to begin to read. Waistlock comedy to start, as they debate who's getting the better of it body rubbing. A waistlock on the mat goes no better, and Maximo accuses Terrible of illegal thrusting. Terrible wins the test of strength, and puts his weight on Maximo, which causes Maximo to hip thrust, which ends that. They actually try to do sane chain wrestling from there, which just seems odd. It goes better when Maximo freaks out at Terrible roar, and Terrible kicks him down. Maximo's thrown in the rudo corner and worked over. Corner whip, Maximo gets his feet up, sunset flip, one two no. Odd to have no thrusting there. CLIP. Maximo's shirt gets ripped up by the rudos, how horrible. Big chest slap by Terrible. Volador waits on the apron to come in, but waits and rallies the crowd instead of actually coming in. They attack him as soon as the chant gets going. Corner whip, whip into boots, Devils' Wings. One two three. Averno's captain, but no one's quite aware of this fact, so Terrible gets a Styles Clash on La Mascara before they call the fall and put up the graphic.

random Mr. Niebla promo

2: Beatdown is still going on. Volador gets stomped down. Mascara gets mouthy while being beat, and so he gets slapped, then kicked questionably low. That sure looked like a  foul to me. Not to the refs. Whip, for Maximo, back elbow by Skandalo, and Maximo escapes a slow rebound double hiptoss. Terrible is no Mephisto, or Maximo is just really heavy. Double chop on Maximo gets Skandalo instead. Mascara gets Terrible with a flying armdrags, Volador gets Averno with a flying dropkick, Averno rolls thru, misses the dropkick. Mascara covers, Skandalo tries an elbow drop but gets his partner. Mascara covers both, Terrible tries an elbow drop, gets his partner. Splash by Mascara, splash by Volador, splash by Mascaras, splash by Volador, splash by Mascara, splash by Volador, Maximo waves them off so he can swoon splash all the rudos, and the tecnicos help hold him down for the pin. Terrible is held for a Maximo kiss after the fall, but Maximo changes his mind once he gets a whiff of Terrible's breath.

3: Rudos in no hurry to start the final fall. It'll be Volador and Skandalo. Skandalo is in the match, actually. Both look for chants, it goes better for one., though it seems like Skandalo does actually get one. Volador off the ropes, over, flipping run, under a clothesline, and a headscissors sends him out. Averno & Terrible miss a clothesline, heads down too soon, kick for Terrible, Averno misses again, superkick for Terrible, and a fireman's carry escape headscissors for Averno. Dive fake out? No, Volador slingshot into a headscissors on Averno! That was good. Tecnicos hang out on the apron while the rudos regroup. Mascara in to face Skandalo, who's probably hoping to last more than 20 seconds this time. Mascara vs Skandalo is surely headlining some show 4 years from now. Mascara off the ropes, over, under, clothesline misses, Mascara back with a headscissors. Terrible knocks him down with a shoulderblock, cover for zero, Terrible runs him over with another shoulderblock, cover for zero, Mascara ducks out of the way of a third and lands an enziguri. Averno in, spinning armdrags sends Averno to the ropes, Averno slides out, Mascara slides out after him, Averno misses a clothesline, and Mascara with a nice spinning backbreaker. Crowd chants for one more. Tag to Maximo. Averno gets to face him. Loud Maximo chant, as loud as it's getting today. There are plenty of seats still available. Maxim off the ropes, cartwheel over, and Averno drops him with a back elbow. Maximo back up, under a clothesline, armdrag sends Averno the ropes. Maximo double jump headscissors (huh) to send Averno out, but Terrible cuts him off form a dive. So Maximo just faints in his arms. Terrible should've just let him keep running. KISS. Maximo ducks the clothesline, crazy armdrags, one more, and a running butt bump to knock Terrible out. Maximo trying for a dive, but Averno cuts him off with a boot. Volador gets Averno with a flying headscissors, Skandalo misses a clothesline on Averno, and Mascara loudly superkicks him. All three tecnicos in, all three tecnicos running - tripe tope! Volador added his flip in there, Averno catching him. Everyone down on the outside and getting counted out, but going to make the count back in. Terrible charges Volador as they come in, Terrible misses a clothesline,  and gets pulled into Mascara's bodyscissors into a campana. Volador gets the up and over sunset flip on Averno, and Maximo gives Skandalo a kiss and a rollup for the match.

Replays, Niebla mask, and we're done.
