Recap: 03/02/08

Open: Mistico interview before the highlights.

Intro: Misterioso hangs out with the announcers. Alex Koslov plays stop sign with a valet. Alex wins. Misterioso calls him a ballerina. Break before the match.

El Baul del Ring: Gliberto Torres

Match 1: Amapola (c), Medussa, Rosa Negra vs Luna Magica, Marcela (c), Princesa Blanca
Arena Coliseo, 02/03/08

  1. tecnicas
  2. rudas
  3. tecnicas

Winner: tecnicas (2-1)
Match Time: 12:38
Approx Rating: Luna Magica is still not good.
Other Match Notes: Remember that week when Rosa Negra was tecnica? No one does. Amapola reassures us that she's #1 in CMLL. Marcela says they're going to win it for the people.

1: TURN OFF THE FLASHING LIGHTS. There we go. I thought this recap was going to be interrupted by a seizure. Luna Magica's changed her hair. She starts with  Rosa Negra and has a below average/kinda boring sequence with Rosa. Rosa has nice bridging pins in the later part, and Luna Magica does a bad tilt-s-whirl slam to finish it. Fall graphic comes up as Medusa and Blanca fight, maybe the mat stuff was suppose to be edited out. This pair is faster, but not much of noteworthy. Amapola and Marcela spend as much time trying tog et the crowd to wake up by waving as they do wrestling early on. It's their usual good sequence stuff, ending with Amapola spearing the post and Marcela getting her with a plancha on the outside. tecnicas get enough of their holds to get the fall. I'm not exactly sure how Medusa was in pain in that hold, but it's Luna Magica.

2: And now the flashing lights are back on. Someone is smart enough to choose camera angles that don't stare into the lights until they're off again. Amapola sells big for Luna Magica. Rosa Negra cuts her off with a wheel kick, but ends up taking a hair bulldog and a totally missed dropkick. Luna overshoots on a silla too. Not a good day for her. Somehow, this starts the beatdown. Marcela gets hammered with a corner clothesline and a running hip check. Amapola gives Luan a behind the back face first powerbomb, which looked sorta brutal. Double dropkick for her too. Marcela back in for corner clotheslines and corner sit. Blanca is brought in, double hiptoss, Rosa Negra spinning face first powerbomb. Magica is kept from coming in (smart!) as the crowd chants RUDAS RUDAS RUDAS. Marcela gets worked over more. Magica brought back in for the back cracker. One two three. Medusa makes Marcela give up, which doesn't actually mean anything but still is sorta surprising.

El Diseno: Mictlan

Inmortales: Atlantis vs Kung Fu, 10/26/1990

3: Rudas continue the beatdown. Double boot for Blanca. Triple boot for Luna. Marcela's tripped in the ropes for Amapola's running sit, but the tecnica moves out of the way at the last moment and Amapola throws her self to the floor. Marcela lifts up Amapola in a double underhook, and drops her down with a backbreaker. (I thought she was about to the Devil's Wings, which would've been the end of Amapola.) Princesa Blanca lands her double jump plancha on Medusa, Luna Magica gets her apron tope con giro on Medusa. This is happening a bit too fast - Marcela and Amapola aren't ready y to go back yet, but hurry in. Amapola clothesline is caught, and pulled into a double underhook powerbomb. One two THREE. That was a quick fall. Tecnicas are thrilled.

Match 2: Damián 666 (c), Misterioso II, Texano Jr. vs Alex Koslov, Dos Caras Jr. (c), Trueno
Arena Coliseo, 02/03/08

  1. tecnicos
  2. tecnicos

Winner: tecnicos
Match Time: 8:41
Approx Rating: Eh.
Other Match Notes: Trueno is here for Ultimo Dragon, which they didn't know at the time of the open. Everything's coming up Trueno lately. Alex plays stop sign on the way to the ring. Dos Caras Jr. is out of breath when starting his promo for whatever reason, but talks about Texano Jr. challenging for his title. The door only opens halfway for Misterioso, and he just scoots around it like there's nothing wrong. Damian talks about Alex Koslov a lot.

1: Dos armdrags Texano around, and Alex has no problem with Damian, up until he's backdropped onto the apron over by the rudos and Texano takes him out with an enziguri. Beatdown from there. Misterioso caries Dos around on his shoulders, which seems harder than Misterioso make sit look. Dos gets slammed on the ramp. Damian works over Trueno a lot. Perros come together to do combos on Alex (over the knees slingshot senton) and Trueno (face first powerbomb/double knee gutbuster.) Alex is brought back in for a second time, and easily ducks a lame double clothesline to start the comeback. Huge springboard plancha on Misterioso. Trueno swings to the apron and tries a tope thru the turnbuckles, but clips the middle ropes with his knees on his way in. Dos and Texano are left in, Dos kicks and press Texano, and Texano yanks his mask. Both refs spot it, and call the DQ. Replays. Misterioso and Texano take turns cleaning off each other's boots with Dos' mask.

Q: Que lucha cambio su vida?

El Arte de Catch.

A: Second de la La lucha de Brazo de Oro vs Ultraman

2: Exciting standing around to start. Rudos seem content to keep the tecnicos from entering the ring. They toss Alex the ring about a minute in to actually get started, and Texano superkicks Trueno when he tries to get involved. Dos, wearing a shirt for a mask, storms in the ring and is quickly handed. Alex is dropkicked out, Trueno is head butted out. Dos gets his mask back, and a referee helps him put it back on. Rudos immediately miss a corner charge on him. Headscissors for Damian, spinning back breaker for Misterioso, and the comeback is on. Alex and Misterioso slowly walk towards the crowd and stand there, which is about right for this. Dos topes Texano in the aisle. Alex lays out Misterioso with a springboard forearm in the ring, making him give up to the Red Scare and Trueno adds a flying reverse tope to finish it. Straight falls.

Replays and that's it.
