CMLL FSE GdR - 10/28/07 (#61)
Recapped: 10/29/07

We've caught up to the new graphic package on FSE. There are slight color differences on the graphic packages to distinguish the two shows, but it subtler.

Outside the Ring: Hijo de Lizmark. Lizmark Jr. has been on my TV screen so little lately, this bit with him still in a mask actually doesn't seem dated.

Intro: is very short and just features the announcers. No promos.

Match 1: Medussa, Rosa Negra (c), La Seductora vs Lady Apache, Luna Magica, Marcela (c)
Arena Coliseo, 09/30/07

  1. tecnicas
  2. rudas
  3. tecnicas

Winner: Tecnicas (2-1)
Match Time: 7:33
Approx Rating: Fine, if unnoteworthy. Seductora didn't make an impression, which could be worse.
Other Match Notes: Entrances during the open. This is Seductora's satellite TV debut. I think she's appeared on the mothership, but I'm not checking. Anytime Rosa Negra is captain, we've hit the low pushed ruda trios possible. Seductora and Rosa do the promos for their team. Odd Marcela is the captain and not Lady Apache, but I've just given that more thought than they intended. Lady Apache does the promo herself and is a much better one than the two rudas (no shock.)

1: Clipped, joining Luna Magica/Rosa Negra. There are very strange armdrags involved, if that's what they're supposed to be. There's a few spots where I have no idea what the person was going for before they got countered. Rosa Negra ends up getting slid out on an armdrags counter, and Luna Magica dropkicks her thru the ropes. Tags to Medusa and Lady Apache, with Medusa kicking her around to start but Apache coming back and getting in her corner handstand bit. Seductora comes in so Lady Apache can go thru a contrived bit to get to a walking the ropes armdrag. Luna and Apache send out the rudas with headscissors, Apache does the faked dive drop to the mat and Marcela gets Medusa with a pescado as she tries to escape around the ring. That's how it was supposed to work on the other show. Luna and Rosa back in, Luna gives Rosa tilt-a-whirl and waves in her partner. There's a teammate monkey flip spot that doesn't go quite right (Lady Apache can't stick the landing) and the tecnicas immediately beat the rudas for the fall. Luna actually won with a body slam. She just sat on Rosa's chest after dropping her, and pulled her legs back as if this was the end of a cradle. Weird.

2: Marcela and Medusa start, and Marcela is completely schooling Medusa until she goes for a springboard headscissors and gets dropped into a face first powerbomb. That's the rudas cue, and the beatdown starts there. Lady Apache takes a Seductora corner clothesline, a Medusa corner clothesline, bulldog out, and camel clutch for Rosa Negra's missile dropkick. Luna Magica brought in, set up on the middle rope, and given a double running powerbomb off! Seductora finishes her off with a double stump puller. Other rudas quickly get in their moves for the triple victory. This fall is excellent for figuring out the big moves of people who never get to use them.

El Arte Del Catch: El Casita - as required by law, a dropkick to the knee precedes La Majistral.

3: Rudas firmly in control. Seductora passionately chokes out Marcela with a corner boot before she's sent across the ring for a corner charges. Clothesline, splash (Marcela drops down), sit. Apache is thrown by her hair and slides out. Everyone take a turn throwing Luna around by her hair. Marcela back in, corner clothesline hits. Seductora whips her back towards a double backdrop (I guess), but Marcela reverses it into a sunset flip on Rosa Negra. Rudas aren't paying attention and Marcela nearly gets three (which would've been awesome.) Medusa wakes up just in time to kick her partner as she reverses the sunset flip. Apache in, just barely getting to Medusa on a missile dropkick. Medusa goes out and Apache follows with an apron tope con giro. Back in the ring, Seductora tries corner whipping Marcela, but Marcela turns her and Luna Magica (sorta) missile dropkicks her. Magica gets in her dive on Seductora (not the greatest catch), while Marcela finishes off Rosa Negra with a double underhook backbreaker - wait, no, that's two? Huh. Marcela gets a standing step over double armbar and that'll do. Strange finish. Perhaps Rosa Negra forget the finish?

El Diseno: Arkangel

Match 2: Ohara, Okumura, Satanico (c) vs La Mascara, Sombra, Volador Jr. (c)
Arena Coliseo, 09/30/07

  1. rudos
  2. tecnicos
  3. tecnicos

Winner: Tecnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 12:15
Approx Rating: Just okay.
Other Match Notes: Sombra has his belt. Mascara has Que Monito. Volador does not have his belt, but he's not wearing a shirt this week. Sombra calls out Satanico in his promo. That's asking a bit much. Ohara has his sword but not his belt. Satanico shoves Sombra right away, but backs off when Sombra and Volador chase him. Satanico explain how Sombra's not in his league.

Do you think they gave Ohara the sword so people would be able to tell them apart?

1: Picked up with a beatdown already in progress, and the rudos holding Volador to be hit by the others. Sombra tries to fight his way into the ring, but gets held for shots. Okumura gets in his missile dropkick, Mascara gets double boots. Volador takes corner charges, and then a submission to end it.

Q: [La Mascara] Que Luchador Tenia El Personaje De La Mascara?
A: Black Warrior

2: Beatdown goes on. Euforia and Nosferatu, are in fact, more interesting than these two. Mascara ducks a double clothesline, and Sombra does the Mistico springboard headscissors (except it's a silla here). Double superkick by Mascara and Volador on Okumura looks really nice. Okumura's given the triple snap kick. Mascara retrieves Ohara, who begs for a timeout. Triple snap kick to him too. Satanico teases going in from the apron for a bit, and gets one free shot on everyone before Sombra blows him up with a dropkick. Mascara is backdropped to the apron for a dive, but Okumura breaks that up. Okumura hamstring kicks Okumura into the ropes and Volador adds the guillotine legdrop for one pin. Sombra slams Ohara and finishes him.

El Arte del Catch: Quebradora con Giro - guy dives into a spinning backbreaker. Would've thought to shown just a generic one rather than one with a unique start point.

3: Satanico wants o start with Volador. No, Satanico wants to start with Monito. Tecnicos are hesitant to let his go down, but of course Monito insists on it. Satanico picks him up, and Monito kicks him questionably low. No DQ, of course. Referees are looking for someone to wrestle already. Magadan protests for a DQ. Volador and Satanico starts off with one shove, knocking Volador down. Volador recovers, gets up, and dropkicks Satanico down. Chop battle from there, and Volador's losing that one pretty much every time. Volador reverses a flapjack into an armdrag, headscissors, headscissors, Satanico freaks out and leaves. Okumura in, but Volador's got to soak up the cheers first. Headscissors for him, Okumura out. Ohara in?  Ohara showing off his wacky karat kicks, but Volador ducks a clothesline and stops him with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. Ohara fires up, and runs right into another backbreaker. Ohara grabs his back, crawls out of the ring, and crawls around the ring while still grabbing his back. Why am I writing this down? Mascara/Okumura but it start heavy on the comedy, but Mascara makes his comeback on both Japanese before screwing around with Satanico. Sombra comes in to take over, but Satanico's out quick, and Sombra instead gets what he does get in on the Japanese. Mascara and Volador shove, Sombra gets a couple of near falls, and Satanico teases putting a campana on Sombra before Volador breaks it up. The four who aren't Satanico and Mascara end up in the ring, with the rudos quickly being dropkicked out. Sombra drops Okumura with a double jump tornillo, and Volador's double jump plancha seems anti climatic after that. Mascara and Satanico left in, Mascara gets a bodyscissors roll into la campana, and that's it.

Monito gets an apron splash on Okumura for good measure. Words from Sombra, who's still quite out of breath. Satanico is amused and willing to school Sombra one on one. This is going nowhere, but it's over.
