CMLL FSE GdR - 09/16/07 (#55)
Recapped: 09/16/07

Intro: Lizmark Jr. joins the announcers while the minis match is getting started in the background. Dos sounds a bit more fired up in his promo.

Reoccurring Feature: Dr. Wagner Jr. with El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr.

Match 1: Emilio Charles Jr. (c), Euforia, Nosferatu vs Mascara Purpura (c), Mictlan, Starman
Arena Mexico, 08/19/07

  1. Rudos
  2. tecnicos
  3. Rudos

Winner: Rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 7:05
Approx Rating: Short, eh.
Other Match Notes: Dubbed entrances. Mictlan's promo talks about the Infernales, but not in the "I'm so tired of facing you" sense, I think. Infernales do a complete generic promo.

1: We join with a brawl already in process, and of course the Rudos are winning that. Starman's either lose some weight or is wearing an outfit that hides it better, who can say. Euforia has a red mask here. Corner knees and corner clothesline for Purpura. Running boot to the head knocks him out of the ring. Mictlan's held and beat, though I'm not paying much attention during this. Starman's worked over next with corner charges. Purpura's brought back, and tossed into a Euforia powerbomb for the finish.

2:  Rudos still in control, still doing corner charges. Don't got much else here to do. Mictlan's legs are held open for the questionably low dropkick. Mictlan take a triple boot. Emilio rolls under a double clothesline, then kinda thru one Euforia and Emilio give up on half way thru. That's not so good. Hey, Purpura's doing Aero Star's Asai Reverse Tope - now ByL threads are starting to make more sense. Aero does it better, I don't know why he cares. (Also, every move you do is building on something someone else did, so you really spend more time crediting those that innovated for you than talking about how your added springboard changes everything.) Other tecnicos roll up other Rudos for the fall. I think Magadan mentions Purpura went to high school in the US, but that would seem to indicate he's a Mexican. Lots of time killing after the fall because it was short

El Arte de Catch: La Sombra - someone who is NOT La Sombra does a satellite armbar.

3: Nosferatu and Mictlan start, with Mictlan getting a big powerslam and dropkicking Nosferatu out. Euforia in, and Mictlan takes care of him with a springboard Euforia. Euforia stays in, so he takes a headscissors to make sure. Mictlan does a hip swivel dance, much to Emilio's displeasure. Emilio actually takes off his shirt to pose off- he's not in as bad shape as I thought he was, but obviously he must not like it if he's wearing a shirt all the time. They have a shoulderblock contest, and Mictlan wins. Emilio tries to punch him, Mictlan ducks him socks him. Off a punch to the face, Emilio tries to claim a foul. Nope. Mascara Purpura and Euforia in, Euforia doing lots of flips for no reason, but does backflip over backdrop into an armdrags. Nosferatu in, but Purpura evades a corner charge, ends up on the apron after a charge himself, and come back in with a springboard headscissors. Superkick to Emilio makes his gum fly - it lands on the floor, and Emilio tracks it down and picks it up. That may be the most disgusting thing ever on this show, five second rule or not. Infernales boot Purpura, other tecnicos boot Infernales and follow them out with tope con giros of varying beauty. Purpura gives Emilio a backbreaker, but the ref's looking the wrong way and that's a bad sign. Sure enough, Emilio Charles Jr. foul heel kick. The camera almost misses it, but they get a better angle on the replay.

El Diseno de Canek.

Match 2: Lizmark Jr. vs Dos Caras Jr. for the CMLL Heavyweight Championship
Arena Mexico, 08/19/07

  1. Lizmark powerbomb w/feet on the rope (2:16)
  2. Dos Caras Jr. arm scissors (4:10)
  3. Dos Caras Jr. inside cradle (6:39)

Winner: Dos Jr.
Match Time: 13:05
Approx Rating: so much not good that it came around the other side
Other Match Notes: Dubbed entrances. Dos enters first? Some champ! He actually has the belt with him, which is a good sign. Alex is his corner. Lizmark does not appear to have a corner man. Maybe his tattoos are his corner man, I'm award by the amount of them this week. Dos and Lizmark do pretaped promos. Ah, there's Mephisto. LOOK, TITLE BELT. ZOOOOOM.

1: So, the match starts, just like most do, with Lizmark already in a bow and arrow. I'm thinking clip. Lizmark flips on top one two no. They break apart and look at the crowd. Lizmark - climbs out of the ring? Huh. Consulting with Mephisto, who rubs down Lizmark's knee. Okay, Lizmark's ready to come back in. I'm glad we clip ahead to that, that was worthwhile. Lizmark stalling some more. Lizmark armbar. Selling it for a while. TWIST. Feel the MMA! Dos flips out of it, armdragging Lizmark out. Lizmark's going to think about this. Dos is as bored with that as I am, and slides out to get Lizmark, but Lizmark slides in at the same time. Dos considers, slides in, and slides past Lizmark's senton attempt. Powerbomb, feet on the middle rope one two three. WHAT A FALL.

Q: ?Que significa Japon y Rusia para Dos Caras Jr.?
A: Debuto en Japan entrenado por un profesor ruso.

2: More stalling to start. Lizmark takes off his shirt so they can have a chest slap battle. Lots of sweat flying off on each shot. Battling snap mares, with Lizmark ending up in control and untying Do's mask. Hey, might you want to win the belt we zoomed in on a while ago? Perhaps? Maybe? Nah. Dos' mask takes a while to untie, and Lizmark goes to pull it off (I guess he does have a fall to give), pretty much getting in 99% of with Dos' hands covering his face, but the ref will allow it. Lizmark helpfully puts it back on. The ref then teases DQing Lizmark, but doesn't. Thrust kick to Dos' head, and now they're going outside. Does is thrown face down onto the mat. I think Lizmark didn't put Dos' mask on correct, because he works at fixing it while he's laying on the mat. Lizmark drags Dos back in the ring and superkicks him. Lizmark goes back tot he mask. I swear to god, I read something in the Observer saying this was supposedly a MMA style match. This is very much a Universo 2000/Rayo de Jalisco match. I would like to see them do MMA. Dos no-sells being worked over so he can cock his head back and forth to stoke the crowd. Lizmark just stands back and watches him do it, because what does he care. Kick. Whip, Dos gets the ropes, Lizmark charges, Dos flips him to the apron, Dos slides out, Lizmark flips in and congratulates himself. Dos up top - missile dropkick when Lizmark turns around. Dos pointing to the crowd some. Whip, reversed, Dos does the thru the rope fake, waistlock into the armscissors, and it's tied up.

El Arte de Catch: Gori Invertida - just what it says.

3: Far too much time left in this match, and yet we pick up with Dos being knocked down off screen by Lizmark. That's just great. Lizmark picks Dos up by one leg, so Dos can enziguri him with the other. Camel clutch? YES. Except Lizmark Jr. is not giving up, that's too bad. Lizmark breaks free, mostly while we're looking the other way and superkicks Dos out. Dive time? Yea, tope. Dos actually beats Lizmark back in. Lizmark off the ropes, clothesline, Dos is unmoved. Bicep pose. Lizmark tells Dos to do it, and of course Lizmark is unmoved as well. Dos points to the crowd, and Lizmark tires again - this time Dos ducks, and superkicks Lizmark. Posing. Still posing. Still - hey, dude, now you're going to pin? One two no - Lizmark tried to get the ropes, didn't really, but did get his shoulder up anyway. Dos tries a rana, powerbomb, Lizmark feet on the rope again, one two kickout. Lizmark can't believe it didn't work again. Dos argues with the ref about - oh, Alex explained it to Dos, that's how he found out. Anyway, Dos argues with the ref about the leverage, Lizmark cradles Dos, Dos fights it, one two no. Ref Rafael el Maya can't take much more of this. Lizmark with a suplex - ohhhhh no he blew it. THAT needed a crowd shot. Let's try again, with the fans booing. Hey, he got it this time. One two NO. Lizmark has an idea! He's going up as slow as possible. Stomp for thumb across the throat. Lizmark is very unsteady climbing, but better on top. Plancha looks all sorts of ungainly, Dos rolls thru one two NO. They're trying to push this as an epic match, but c'mon. I've seen the last two and half falls, I saw Lizmark just lose Dos on a suplex. Hey, posing. Both guys are gassed, and just sort of wander to the corner, and walk thru the corner whip, reverse sequence. Dos backflips out over Lizmark, Lizmark takes a weird angle at Dos, Dos ducks, Lizmark socks the ref. No one's in a hurry to follow up, and Mephisto has a nice chat with the ref. That's more a distraction then injury. Dos with a kick, pose, press! which is actually impressive, drop, German - no, no one's ever doing the German suplex again, Dos! Dos keeps on trying, so Lizmark has to heel kick him to make sure he gets the idea. Lizmark celebrates en route to making the pin, but now the ref still won't turn around. Lizmark grabs the ref, but Dos is sneaking up behind him - inside cradle, Lizmark yanking some of the referee's hair in the process. So now the ref's ticked, and that's a much snappier three count then we've been getting all night. Title retained.

To be fair, they find a section of fans who are beyond thrilled with Dos Jr. retained. Considering who was involved here, I would be as well. Replays. Dos is still all blown up minutes after when they do the interview. He did it for the Rock people! He starts talking trash to Magadan in the midst of this - let's not get all crazy here, Dos.

That's it.
