CMLL FSE GdR - 08/12/07 (#50)
Recapped: 08/13/07

Intro: Stuka Jr. join the announcers, while Virus rants from the mysterious hallway of pre-tape. Ultimo and Mistico talk about at the tag title change of two days ago, though Ultimo does not actually show the belts. We really could use a 30 second clip to explain what the heck they're talking about. I can't imagine there are people who just watch the B-Shows who feel like they totally know what's going on all of the time - they must be a bit baffled.

Outside the Ring: Maximo

Match 1: Mictlan (c), Stuka Jr., Tony Rivera vs Euforia, Nosferatu, Virus (c)
Arena Coliseo, 07/15/07

  1. rudos
  2. tecnicos
  3. rudos

Winner: Rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 8:20
Approx Rating: About normal.
Other Match Notes: Mictlan has a yellow outfit. This is important info. Mictlan does the pre-tape promo so rapidly, as if he's afraid he'll forget it before he finishes. Nosferatu and Euforia come out separately because...anyway, Euforia has a new red mask too. He wastes no time in getting in Stuka's face. There's like a 90% shot that they're just working their own feud here, right? If so, I encourage everyone to start doing the same.  Nosferatu does his promo, which involved a lot of evil laughing. Not that it's measurably bad promo, but I think it'd be great if his promo was only evil laughing. Like he could start off laughing, stare at the camera, start laughing again, and they cut back to the ring. Also, I really like Nosferatu's mask here.

1: Nosferatu/Tony chain wrestling. It starts off as nothing to write home about, turns into a series of miscommunications, and then goes for the clichés. Mictlan and Euforia. Mictlan gets a big powerslam, and the crowd really don't sound into him. Moments and a reversed whip later, Mictlan goes for a headscissors (I think) and Euforia goes for a clothesline (I think) and the result is not good. Euforia is smart enough to stomp him while he's done, and then dropkicked him out to end the exchange. Virus and Stuka, Stuka getting tossed to the apron but coming back with a plancha. Off the ropes, 'rana, blocked into a powerbomb one two three. Quick. Nosferatu gives Tony a spinebuster and puts on a reverse half crab - I always wonder how that hurts. Not that I'm requesting it be tried on me.

2: Rudo beatdown started during the break, apparently. Stuka is worked over while we look at the ring girl. Mictlan gets brought in for a spinning back elbow by Virus, and he's kicked out. Corner whip for Tony, Euforia clothesline, and whipped out into a Nosferatu spear. Hey, he can use that all he wants now, it's not being used. Legdrop by Virus and Tony rolls out. Stuka whipped, double backdrop, he lands on his feet, Nosferatu grabs him in a full nelson, Stuka escapes just in time to avoid the double clothesline and the comeback is on. Mictlan and Tony run, get to their spots, and hit superkicks and dropkick to send Euforia and Virus out. All the rudos out on the same side. Stuka drops to his back, Tony charges, and Stuka monkey flips him into the tope con giro onto Nosferatu. That looked really good. Euforia back in, and he takes a double backdrop. Virus in, and a double back elbow drop for him. Stuka and Nosferatu split up to finish up, and the tecnicos take the fall.

3: Stuka and Virus start off again. There's been a surprising lack of Tony/Virus. After counter sand reversals of people not really getting anything, (and Stuka doing a lot of flipping for no reason), Stuka land a dropkick to the head and backbreaker. They're out, Tony and Nosferatu in, and they take turns missing dropkicks. Nosferatu works him over with chest slaps. Whip, reversed, Tony just clears him on a leapfrog, but lands the monkey flip on the next pass. Tony gets backdropped on the apron, stops Nosferatu with a shoulder to the midsection, and Tony climbs up top. Top rope headscissors sends Nosferatu out. Virus knocks Tony right out with a dropkick, Mictlan knocks Virus out with a dropkick, Euforia knocks Mictlan out with a big boot, and Stuka knocks Euforia out with a dropkick - wait, no, Euforia's seen this and moves. Euforia off the ropes and he - well, perhaps the idea was he'd get hit by Stuka, but he didn't, so he just did a running flip bump. Stuka flips out of a backdrop, but gets booted. Euforia off the ropes, and Stuka monkey flips him to the floor. Never charge Stuka when he's on the mat! Stuka going up top - moonsault! Virus and Nosferatu in with Tony - Tony moves out of the way of a Virus charge (who spears the post and slides out.) Tony gives Nosferatu a backbreaker, Mictlan picks him up, corner whip, Tony corner clothesline, Mictlan corner clothesline. Virus in, Virus out - Tony superkicked while backing up the ring. Mictlan puts Nosferatu on the top rope in the mean time. Tony now looking at Virus and running - TOPE! They take them up the aisle a bit. Inside, Mictlan gives Nosferatu a middle rope headscissors. We didn't see a lot of that, and what's weird is Mictlan and Nosferatu go straight to doing chops, as if a major move was just not done. Whip, reversed, Mictlan slides out, 'rana - no, Nosferatu powerbombs him one two three. Well, that's why HE was captain.

No Tony/Virus build, not even in the post match promo (mostly Virus noting how awesome he is, and Stuka saying tecnicos rules.)

Match 2: Averno, Mephisto, Ultimo Guerrero (c) vs Mistico (c), Negro Casas, Volador Jr.
Arena Coliseo, 07/15/07

  1. rudos
  2. tecnicos
  3. tecnicos

Winner: Tecnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 5:41
Approx Rating: Standard fare, shorter than usual.
Other Match Notes: Tecnicos do a half joking promo - Negro would not be able to tell which show he's on if not for the Fox Sports thing-a-mob around the microphone. Averno & Mephisto think they're the best tag team in the world, but where are the belts? Where are the belts?

1: It's apparently a beatdown to start, though we're looking at the valets when it starts. Mistico gets pressed by Averno & Mephisto, and dropped face first on the apron. Evil Monkey gets in kicks on Volador. Ultimo works over Negro on the inside for a bit, then holds Volador for a Evil Monkey top rope plancha. Volador catches him,  but Evil Monkey escapes out into an armdrag. That's just embarrassing for Volador. Whip, and Ultimo flapjacks him. Boot to the face while he's at it. Meanwhile, Mistico has finally been brought in, and Averno wastes no time in finishing him off.

2: Beatdown continues. Volador takes the rebound double hiptoss. Negro too. Mistico gets in a cheap shot on Evil Monkey and runs away! What a coward. Ultimo gives Volador a slingshot, and hilds him over his knees for an Evil Monkey top rope splash. Averno goes after Mistico, and rams him into the post, while Ultimo and Evil Monkey do the huddle celebration on the inside. It's been a pretty good day for Evil Monkey. Negro back in, and back elbowed by Ultimo. Averno grabs a leg, so Mephisto can kick the inside. Meanwhile, Volador and Mistico are trying to get a piece of Evil Monkey, and he has to climb in the ring to get away from them. Ultimo gives the tecnicos a look and pulls his friend to safety, which takes the pressure off of Negro for a moment. Whip, Negro ducks the double clothesline, and Mistico's in with the springboard headscissors, and right out with a tope on Averno. Negro and Volador end things quick.

While we watch replays, the tecnicos get their hands on Evil Monkey. Ultimo dives in the ring to make the save, and Mistico and Ultimo get into a scrum for the midget. Volador realizes he can just kick and slap Ultimo away, and does so.

El Arte del Catch: Gori Special - I like to call it a Gory Stretch, but you get the idea.

Q: Cual fue su primer personaje antes de llaamares Averno?
A: Rencor Latino

3: Fall starts with Mistico bowing to his rowdy fans. Mephisto in with him. Mistico off the ropes, and Averno belts him with a kick form the outside, and celebrates like he's finally beaten the man. Once he turns the wrong way, Mistico pops up and enziguri's him. Mistico counters a Mephisto backdrop, and headscissors him out. Averno in. Mistico ducks a clothesline, fireman's carry reversal into a headscissors. Mistico with a springboard headscissors, to send Averno out, and then out to the apron for an Asai Moonsault. The other four all in the ring, the rudos give Negro a double drop toe hold and knocking down Volador with a back elbow. Volador whipped, ducks the double clothesline, tossed and dropkicking Mephisto out. Ultimo charges Negro in the corner, Negro ducks (which isn't hard, he's already kneeling) and Ultimo takes the knee bump to the floor. Negro goes to the apron, bops Evil Monkey on the head many times, and does his apron silla. Ultimo catches him and holds him up, so Negro bops Ultimo on the head till he drops. Meanwhile, Volador is setting up - no hand tope con giro! Averno & Mistico back in. Averno off the ropes, Mistico slides under, Averno tilt-a-whirl but Mistico lands on his feet, La Mistica! Well, Averno lasted about four seconds longer than normal this time. The crowd is thrilled with the Mistico win.

Ultimo and Evil Monkey are quick to walk up the aisle. Replays. Miguel interviews Mistico, who thanks the fans. They talk more about the tag team titles. That's it.
