CMLL Mini Line - 09/11/04 (2) (#146)
Typed: 09/25/04

This was the second part of three episodes airing in the same two hour timeslot. This show was out of order, airing about a week late. Only the main event aired in the US, but I believe it was the same deal in Mexico, and there was no extra clipping.

Perhaps because this is the second show of three, Galavision opted to skip the opening, and go straight to

Stellar Moments

Vignette: At the restaurant, Negro Casas is sad about his hair being cut off, and I don't believe Niebla pointing it out helps. They discuss Perro Aguayo's tactics in the cage match, and if they were an ethical thing to do for a tecnico. I think they decide than can trust Perro, and to get the quesedillas.

Match 3: Mr. Niebla (c), Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Negro Casas vs Tarzan Boy (c), Okumura, Vampiro
Arena Mexico, 06/25/04

  1. rudos
  2. rudos

Winner: Rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 8:33
Approx Rating: 82.

Other Match Notes: Tecnicos get introduced first, which is a complete break of form. Negro is still sensitive about his hair loss. Perro and he immediately have words, but we don't watch them. Perro does stand far away from his teammates as they're waiting for introductions. Vampiro's music plays, but in the week between this show and the last, he'd broken his leg. Not sure if word had spread to Arena Mexico, but everyone's kinda surprised when no one comes down the aisle, and instead, coming thru the crowd with a jacket hood over his head to hide and going after Negro - it's AAA's Hector Garza! Well, apparently not AAA's anymore. He doesn't get as big a reaction on his return to Arena Mexico as I'd think, but you never know how well this crowd is miced. Ring announcer announces the new signee as the beatdown begins.

Of note, Hector focuses his attack on Negro, and doesn't go after any one else. When they break it down to 3 on 1, he does help out on Mr. Niebla. Tarzan and he are doing a lot of team work, and a spiffy handshake. Aguayo charges at Garza and wants a piece of him, but gets held back by Okumura. Garza watches Tarzan and Okumura each grab a side of Perro, then sizes Perro up - and goes after Negro instead. Oh, intrigue. Rudos are relatively undisturbed by the lack of team work, beating over Perro by themselves. Announcers are putting over Garza like crazy. More beatdown for Negro, culminating in an Okumura missile dropkick. Is that out? No, Okumura is saying this is it - suplex into a powerbomb, one two three. (2:57) Tarzan boy suplexes Niebla, and apparently that's enough to work there. One two three. (3:07) Replays.

Garza whips Okumura into a sliding dropkick that hits Perro as the fall starts. Long crowd shot, but that's because nothing is happening. The rudos are holding the ring. Meanwhile, the tecnicos are arguing - Casas and Aguayo having problems. I don't think Perro trusts Negro. Perro comes in, and corners Tarzan before Hector helps out a stop to that. Tarzan misses a corner splash, and Perro clotheslines the other rudos to turn the tide. We're watching this at half the normal size, because they're replaying clips from last week's cage match in the other half the screen. When we finally get full picture, the tecnico are laying waste to the rudos, but Perro wants nothing to do with Negro. It settles down to Tarzan vs Perro one one one, and a chopping battle ensues. Tarzan manages to get in control until he misses another corner charge. Perro semi-blows a headscissors (or it was the first spinning arm scissors I've seen like that), then clotheslines Tarzan out to some boos. Perro fakes a dive, and fakes a shot at Negro. Crowd not on his side here. Perro wants to take on Negro, but Niebla pre-empts him by getting in the ring. Garza gets a move on him, allowing enough time to talk to the crowd. He's new here, so he doesn't really all of his slapping is just going to make Niebla dance. Clothesline ducked, big shot to the head. Headlock, shot off, over, under, under, handspring elbow. Garza mockingly claps for the move and gets another big slap. Tag to Negro, who faces Okumura. Crowd on Negro's side. Chop battle, with Negro trying a headbutt and Okumura winning with a clothesline. Off the ropes, into a drop toe hold to the middle rope, taking an enziguri to the apron. Okumura blocks the DDT On the apron and fights back. Lots of striking just leads back to the DDT, though. Casas runs - and gets knocked off the apron by Perro before he can hit the Thesz Pres! Perro uses the move instead! Niebla comes in, but he's quickly knocked down by Tarzan. Tarzan climbs up to dive, and gets kicked to the floor by Niebla. That leaves Niebla and Garza left standing. Garza with a shoulderblock, off the rope, handspring is ill timed and turns it to a butt bump, Garza locks him in a waistlock and gives him a flipping German Suplex anyway. Big powerbomb. Niebla placed into position, and Garza goes up while calling for the end - moonsault corkscrew splash! one two three. (5:26) Two fall win, that'll work for a debut. I think they're even mentioning Garza being captain of TNA's Team Mexico here, though they don't say TNA. Garza and Perro have a stare down outside the ring. Garza wants a handshake. Perro looks at the crowd and backs off. Garza decides to get some words to the announcers instead - and Perro decides to go after Negro instead. Perro grabs a leg, and Garza comes back to beat Negro down. Perro celebrates with the rudos, which can't be a good sign for the tecnicos. Tarzan tries to make friends with Perro.

A break is cut out, and we look at replays of the match instead. Lots of replays of Garza's finisher. We end with shots of Garza.

This episode was closer to 25 minutes, probably because at least one (and more likely two) commercial break was removed.
