06/20 AAA TV Lineup (Orizaba)

AAA TV (SAT) 06/20 Plaza de Toros la Concordia de Orizaba [KrisZ]
1) Crazy Boy, Extreme Tiger, Ultimo Gladiador vs Decnnis, Joe Lider, Nicho el Millionario
2) Aerostar, Fabi Apache, Mari Apache vs Billy Boy, Cinthia Moreno, Sexy Star
3) Jack Evans vs Teddy Hart
4) La Parka Jr., Latin Lover, Marco Corleone vs Chessman, Electro Shock, Oriental
5) El Mesias vs Dr. Wagner Jr.

2009 AAA TV Chart
Projected Air Date (#894)
Mexico: 06/28
US: 07/18

– Mesias/Wagner seems to be ongoing.
– Oriental in the semimain!
– expecting roughly 5000000 moves in Jack/Teddy
– the entire woman’s division in one match? (No, I dunno where Tiffany is)
– Is Tiger a tecnico now? If he doesn’t turn on his teammates, he sort of has to be.

I think I can read into one thing or two about how TripleMania is going to end, but you could mostly have this show take place before TripleMania without anything changing. (Probably wouldn’t do Wagner/Mesias before TripleMania, but then they kinda did.)

2009 AAA TV Chart
Projected Air Date (#892)
Mexico: 06/14
US: 07/04

The theme of the night was referee incompetence. Okay, that happens a lot, but this time they were going some place with it.

El Brazo worked as ref for the opener, and missed an Abismo foul on Octagoncito. La Parkita argued it, and was beat up by Brazo, Guapito, and the Mini Vipers. Parkita was a sub for Mascara Sagrada, and was not among the minis when they all joined Los Chihuahueños del Mal, and Guapito declared he’d never be invited in the promotion after that.

In the second mach, Piero missed Billy give Aerostar a martinete. Aerostar was taken out, and 3 rudos beat 2 tecnicos.

Psycho Circus were more psycho than usual, ripping up Laredo and Super Crazy’s Crazy Boy’s mask. The beating continued after the pinfall, Tropicasas teased a DQ, and the clowns beat him up too. Piero ran out for what looked to be the (incredibly anti-climatic) end to the winning streak, but Hijo de Tirantes cut him off and declared the Psycho Circus the winners.

Hijo de Tirantes and Silver King helped the Legion win the semimain.

The billed teams broke down, as they usually do in relevos matches. Mesias was dumped, and Konnan & Silver King tried to pin Wagner, but the count was broken up by Joaquin Roldan. Having a whole show ruined by bad refereing is one thing, but having it cost the promotion at TripleMania is another. Roldan introduced a masked Cien Caras as the special referee for the TripleMania cage match. Konnan suspected it was a fake (or maybe a Jr.) and demanded the masked man unmask. It was Cien Caras underneath, surprise.

Next show is TripleMania. Next TV taping is not TripleMania, it’s a week from Wednesday in Ecatepec. Which reminds me that Kris had the Orizaba lineup and I spaced on putting it up. I guess that’s next.

Sunday Guadalajara, Coliseo, EAW

Waiting for AAA results, but the quick version is Cien Caras returned to AAA to be AAA ref for the cage match, balancing out Hijo de Tirantes. No one will see this episode before TripleMania, but they must’ve given some people a heads up; besides Box Y Lucha, Ovaciones had a story about it and there’s no way they would’ve covered a Pachuca show all on their own, or have gotten this news in the paper the next night, unless there was a tipoff.

CMLL (SUN) 06/07 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [Fuego en el Ring, MT]
1) Puma King & Tiger KidMolotov & Trueno
2) Lady Apache, Sahori, ZeuxisLa Nazi, Magnifica, Princesa Blanca
3) Mascara Dorada, Stuka Jr., ValienteEuforia, Nosferatu, Virus
4) Atlantis, Dos Caras Jr., Ultimo GuerreroBlue Panther, Shocker, Volador Jr.
5) MisticoFelino

Mistico beat Felino clean. No one talks of any challenges after the match.

Lady Apache replaced Marcela and Princesa Blanca replaced Hiroka, and I’m not sure why they weren’t on this show originally since they’re feuding and all.

CMLL (SUN) 06/07 Arena Coliseo [CMLL, Ovaciones]
1) Apocalipsis & SkandaloPrincipe Valiente & Sensei
2) Dr. X, Hooligan, Loco MaxGuerrero Maya Jr., Hijo de Ultraman, Starman
3) Bam Bam, Mascarita Dorada, Pequeño OlímpicoPequeño Damian 666, Pequeño Violencia, Pequeño Warrior
4) Heavy Metal, Lizmark Jr., Misterioso IIMaximo, Mictlan, Sagrado
5) Black Warrior, Naito, YujiroHector Garza, Hijo del Fantasma, La Mascara

Garza tried to sneak attack No Limit, but No Limit figured it was coming and sneaked back behind him. Ovaciones says Fantamsa and the rest of the crew won’t be back in Mexico until the 17th, so there goes the idea of doing the trios title match here next week. Still surprised they won’t  be doing anything special, but there was no direction here except for that trios title match.

Sagrado got strechered out of his match. The tecnicos in the second match lost in straight falls, and I’m still not sure if this is a new Ultraman. (I think – yes?) Skandalo filled in for Ramstein, who seems to miss a lot of shows for a guy who’s not on a lot of shows. Minis match was said to be really good.

EAW (SAT) 06/06 El Pinal, Teziutlan [LuchandoLibre]
1) Dinastia, Penumbra, Ragde b Black Fire, Drastik Boy, Pesdailla
2) Neursois, Startron, Toro b Cometa de Fuego, Dinamita Kid, Silver Dragon
3) Barba Roja, Hijo de Pirata Morgan, Pirata Morgan Jr. b Fantastik, Turbo, Voltaje
4) Ericka del Rico & John Scott b Derrick Nikerson & Girl Dynamite
5) Histeria & Psicosis II b Scorpio Jr. & Zumbido
6) El Alebrije, Intocable, La Park b Monsther, Pirata Morgan, Super Crazy

Scorpio turned on Zumbido to set up a feud. No date announced for the next show.

Box Y Lucha #2925 is a big preview of TripleMania. Magazine includes Mistico’s interview, or a new one. The new edition of Box Y Lucha TV is also up.

CMLL (MON) 06/08 Arena Puebla
1) Asturiano & SWAT vs Fuerza Chicana & Policeman
2) Astro Boy, Guerrero Maya Jr., Hijo de Ultraman vs Puma King, René Guajardo Jr., Tiger Kid
3) Bracito de Oro, Electrico, Shockercito vs Pequeño Damian 666, Pequeño Violencia, Pierrothito
4) La Sombra, Shocker, Volador Jr. vs Felino, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas
5) Atlantis, Misterioso II, Ultimo Guerrero vs Averno, Terrible, Texano Jr.

Misterioso seems to be picking up all of Rey Buc’s bookings.

Chela Salazar, Cien Caras, Fuerza Guerrera

Box Y Lucha has a great bio of Chela Salazar, who passed away on Saturday after a long battle with cancer in her neck and liver. She lived in the Chicago area the in recent years, and there was a nice tribute show for her last year. The cancer had surely taken a toll on her. She didn’t seem sick (Box Y Lucha says she’d been stable for one year), but you wouldn’t have known she was a former luchadora.

Chela’s career highlights included being the part of the first match in Arena Coliseo after the city’s ban on women’s wrestling was lifted (11/21/1986, teaming with Irma Aguila and Irma Gonzalez vs Mujer Salvaje, Martha Villalobos, and Yuma), and the first woman to lose her hair in Arena Mexico, losing to Pantera Surena on July 17, 1987.

Box Y Lucha says Cien Caras returned to AAA tonight, to join the AAA side against the Legion.

indy (FRI) 06/05 Coliseo Centenario de Torreon [DJ Spectro]
1) Sexy Libra & Sexy Piscis b Bella Rubi & Dulce Paola
2) Mr. Aguilita & Pequeño Halloween b Celestial & Konami
3) Lady Warrior & Mujer Demente b Flor Metalica & Lilly Fighter
4) X-Fly L Olimpico, Damian 666, Super Porky, Super Crazy, Mr. Aguila [mask, hair, cage]
5) Dr. Wagner Jr. DRAW el Hijo del Perro Aguayo, El Hijo Del Santo

DJ Spectro says 3,500. X-Fly’s lost his hair twice this year already (and probably would’ve lost a third if not for the flu canceling the Record show.) Olimpico gets credited with the win. Main event was a Mexican indy special: Perros’s guys attacked Wagner and Santo for the non-finish.

ESPN Deportes previews TripleMania.

In Ovaciones, Cibernetico promotes the Bizarros by talking about how Konnan should honor his retirement stip, and then taking about how he doesn’t want to talk about Konnan anymore.

Fuerza cuts a much better promo in this week’s SuperLuchas. He has five points to make, helpfully numbered:
1) Konnan pretends that Anotnio Pena was a father to him, but he stole AAA’s talent to go to Promo Azteca and the US, and burned an AAA title on TV.
2) Konnan lost a retirement match, is still wrestling, so his word is nothing
3) Konnan talked fans into giving him money for his kidney transplant because he was so ppor, and yet he’s getting money from his TNA settlement
4) Konnan casts doubt onto the character of Mistico, but has far more personal scandals, including accusing on Cien Caras stealing his wife
5) Everything Konnan has has been pure crap.

Fuerza says Konnan is a selfish liar who only cares about himself, but holds no respect for himself. Fuerza really needs to be on TV just to be cutting promos. Fuerza says Konnan is getting $500,000 from TNA, which can not possibly be true.

SuperLuchas also has Dr. X’s second “what do I need to do for CMLL to push me?” interview of the year. The answer does not appear to be “more complaining to the press”, sadly.

AAA looks back at Psycho Circus‘s debut (facing much the same team they’ll be facing at TripleMania, as well as Muerte Cibernetica and Konnan‘s return to AAA. A bunch of people on that show who are long gone, of course.

Ohtani’s Jacket writes about the Puebla local match and last week’s IWRG.

Segunda Caida puts El Hijo del Santo #16 in their top of 2008 list.

LuchaWorld has Robert on CMLL TV 03/08/08 and C3 02/23/08, as well as KrisZ’s news update.

IWRG (THU) 06/11 Arena Naucalpan
1) Halcon 2000 vs Osiris
2) Galactik & Jack vs Epidemia & Heavy Boy
3) Barba Roja, Hijo de Pirata Morgan, Pirata Morgan Jr. vs Freelance, Pendulo, Trauma I
4) Zatura vs Trauma II
5) Fuerza Guerrera & Juventud Guerrera vs Black Terry & Dr. Cerebro

IWRG (SUN) 06/14 Arena Naucalpan
1) Fly Star vs Comando Negro
2) Exodia & Goleador vs Azoka & Osiris
3) Freelance, Suicida, Turbo vs Avisman, Black Thunder, Tetsuya Bushi
4) Pendulo, Trauma I, Trauma II vs Arlequin, Arlequin Rojo, Arlequin Verde
5) Angelico, Negro Navarro, Zatura vs Mascara Ano 2000 Jr., Ricky Cruzz, Veneno

Texano advances (!), IWRG results, next week’s lineups

CMLL (FRI) 06/05 Arena Mexico [Ovaciones, Box Y Lucha, Cesar, SuperLuchas]
1) Astro Boy & Bengala b Caligula & Messala
2) Amapola, La Nazi, Princesa Blanca b Dark Angel, Lluvia, Sahori

3) Heavy Metal, Misterioso II, Shigeo Okumura b La Mascara, Metro, Sagrado
4) Black Warrior b Mascara Dorada [CMLL Universal, eightfinal]
5) Texano Jr. b Hijo del Fantasma [CMLL Universal, eightfinal]
6) Averno b Dragon Rojo Jr. [CMLL Universal, eightfinal]
7) La Sombra b Sangre Azteca [CMLL Universal, eightfinal]
8) Texano Jr. b Black Warrior [CMLL Universal, quarterfinal]
9) La Sombra b Averno [CMLL Universal, quarterfinal]
10) Texano Jr. b La Sombra [CMLL Universal, semifinal]
11) Hector Garza, Shocker, Volador Jr. DQ Dos Caras Jr., Naito, Yujiro

Surprise: Texano advances to the final. Not a surprise: no match over 5 minutes in the tournament. Texano beat everyone clean (though Warrior more wiped himself out on a missed dive than anything Texano did), and apparently his finish is the Tornado Texas.

No parnters facing partners, this time around.

Dos got desperate in the main event and fouled Shocker. That sets up a super libre (no DQ) match between the two.

Ovaciones says Star Fire replaced Marcela in the woman’s match, but Cesar and SuperLuchas both say it was Lluvia. Ovaciones says Marcela missed the match because she’ll be undergoing knee surgery today (actually, before the time you’ll have read this) – I hope they’re wrong there too, but they’re probably correct.

FWIW, the Universal championship sure looks like yet another belt, and not a one time tournament trophy.

Kcidis’ latest cartoon looks at the guys who won their way into this tournament.

IWRG (THU) 06/04 Arena Naucalpan [Al Filo del Ring]
1) Guizmo b Radamantis
2) Epidemia & Heavy Boy b Comando Negro & Goleador
3) Avisman, Fantasma de la Opera, Tetsuya Bushi b Diva Salvaje, Miss Gaviota, Pendulo
4) Black Terry, Cerebro Negro, Dr. Cerebro b Trauma I, Trauma II, Zatura
5) Fuerza Guerrera, Pirata Morgan, Ricky Cruzz b Angelico, Bobby Lee Jr., Scorpio Jr.

They’re building a feud between Ricky Cruzz and Angelico, though I don’t know if Cruzz is scheduled to be around long enough to pay that off. Zatura accidently hit one of the Traumas to cost his team the match, and the Traumas beat him up after.

Proyeccion Luchistica talks with Pirata Morgan about the Infernales.

Luchando Libre previews tonight’s final AAA taping before TripleMania.

WagnerMania has a two part interview with Psycho Clown.

DJ Spectro has photos of the new Santo exhibition.

CMLL (TUE) 06/09 Arena Mexico
1) Bengala & Principe Valiente vs Camorra & Cholo
2) Amapola, La Nazi, La Seductora vs Dark Angel, Estrella Magica, Sahori
3) Angel Azteca Jr., Angel de Oro, Angel de Plata vs Arkangel de la Muerte, Loco Max, Skandalo
4) Mascara Dorada, Metro, Mictlan vs Felino, Heavy Metal, Lizmark Jr.
5) Blue Panther, Shocker, Toscano vs Naito, Ultimo Guerrero, Yujiro

Toscano’s return.

CMLL (FRI) 06/12 Arena Mexico
1) Mascarita Dorada, Pequeño Olímpico, Shockercito vs Pequeño Damian 666, Pequeño Warrior, Pierrothito
2) Maximo, Sagrado, Valiente vs Misterioso II, Shigeo Okumura, Virus
3) Mistico vs Ultimo Guerrero, Hector Garza, Volador Jr., La Mascara, Negro Casas, Mephisto, Ephesto [CMLL UNIVERSAL, torneo]
4) Blue Panther, La Sombra, Toscano vs Atlantis, Black Warrior, Mr. Niebla
5) Shocker vs Dos Caras Jr.

Ultimo Guerrero vs Texano seems possible. Negro Casas vs Texano seems possible – more so than Texano vs La Mascara, actually. I think Mephisto and Ephesto can be ruled out. Main event is NOT listed as super libre.

Tickets are 1 peso ($.08 US) for any child with an adult. I’d bet on this show going quite long, and CMLL doing anything else they can think of to make sure you’re not interested in seeing another show the next day.

CMLL (SUN) 06/14 Arena Mexico
1) Starman & Trueno vs Artillero & Super Comando
2) Fabian el Gitano, Metalico, Tony Rivera vs Bronco III, Dr. X, Hooligan
3) Flash, Pegasso, Rey Cometa vs Euforia, Nosferatu, Vangelis
4) Blue Panther, Mictlan, Sagrado vs Ephesto, Heavy Metal, Lizmark Jr.
5) Averno, Mephisto, Texano Jr. vs Hector Garza, Mistico, Toscano

Fan appreciation show being the day after TripleMania is also no concidence. Is the (current) main event a hint as towards next week’s final? The Trios title match is not listed, yet.

AAA (WED) 07/01 Cancha German Evers
1) Shyru Dragon vs Mario Mora
2) Aerostar & Relampago vs Billy Boy & Kempo Dragon
3) Alex Koslov & Rocky Romero vs Alan Stone & Chris Stone
4) ?, Konnan, Teddy Hart vs Jack Evans, Marco Corleone, Mesias

This is the first show here since Konnan won control of the building. Interestingly, it’s being hyped as The Final Battle.

Legends show, Mexico lineup, SLP

AULL (WED) 06/03 Arena Lopez Mateos [DJ Spectro]
1) Epidemia & Epitafio b Mr. Potro & Yakuza
2) Esther Moreno & Rossy Moreno b La Diabolica & Vicky Carranza
3) el Signo & Negro Navarro DRAW Cachorro Mendoza & Ringo Mendoza
4) Hombre Bala, Pirata Morgan, Satanico b Enrique Vera, Villano III, Villano IV
5) Brazo de Oro, Brazo de Plata, Canek b Lizmark Sr., Mascara Ano 2000, Rayo de Jalisco Jr.

Over half full building. Hombre Bala replaced MS-1, who’s apparently not doing to well. Vera replaced Dos Caras. Build to a Rayo/Canek match in the main event.

Tonight’s lineup:

CMLL (FRI) 06/05 Arena Mexico
1) Astro Boy & Bengala vs Caligula & Messala
2) Dark Angel, Marcela, Sahori vs Amapola, La Nazi, Princesa Blanca
3) La Mascara, Metro, Sagrado vs Heavy Metal, Misterioso II, Shigeo Okumura
4) Averno vs La Sombra, Sangre Azteca, Hijo del Fantasma, Dragon Rojo Jr., Mascara Dorada, Black Warrior, Texano Jr. [CMLL UNIVERSAL, torneo]
5) Hector Garza, Shocker, Volador Jr. vs Dos Caras Jr., Naito, Yujiro

Universal talks to 6 of the 8 guys (no Fantasma or Texano.) None of them say anything that interesting – they’d all like to win, no one’s giving away strategy, only Dorada dares to suggest who he’d like to face (Negro or UG.) Ovaciones rates each competitor. They like Black Warrior as the favorite, have Sombra with a title he doesn’t actually have (read the wiki closer!) and see Dorada as the biggest underdog.

Main event continues Shocker (Hector)/Dos. Not a whole lot else here. Maybe they’ll tease Dark Angel/Amapola? Nah.

Luchando Libre looks at the possibilities of El Hijo del Santo and AAA working together.

There’s post on el Martinete saying the local advertising for the 06/20 AAA taping has Mesias vs Wagner [non title] and Teddy Hart vs Jack Evans

Rey Bucanero, after five hours of surgery, complained to Box Y Lucha about the doctor stopping the match. I think the doctor might reply “you just had five hours of surgery.”

Blue Panther talks about acupuncture with Fuego en el Ring. He gives it credit for helping him stay in the ring.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update.

indy (WED) 06/17 Auditorio Miguel Barragan
1) Canek, Dr. Wagner Jr., Mascara Sagrada vs Damian 666, el Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Mr. Aguila

That’s interesting. Not just because it’s Wagner apparently taking more bookings after he started talking to AAA, but if Wagner wins the title at TripleMania, you’d figure he’d be in Ecatepec on the taping. Could be a change to come here, could be a sign. Dunno.

CMLL (WED) 07/01 Auditorio Migue Barragan
1) Dark Angel & Lady Apache vs Amapola & Princesa Sujei
2) Pegasso & Rey Cometa vs Dr. X & Skandalo
3) La Mascara & Maximo vs Black Warrior & Sangre Azteca
4) La Sombra, Shocker, Volador Jr. vs ?, Atlantis, Ultimo Guerrero

Fan appreciation show prices here too. Is this somehow working for them? I can’t see the math. Another show Rey’s probably missing.
