lucha TV schedule for weekend of October 10th

20151008lt

  • ClaroSports.com will be airing Friday’s Arena Mexico show, but only for Mexico IP addresses. No one’s really explained why, but that’s the deal. (Maybe it helps Azteca (US) if those matches aren’t airing on the internet two weeks earlier, but that’d only explain blocking US and not the rest of the world.)
  • Claro did this originally, and we were able to use the Hola VPN app to get around it. That app didn’t work last week. It could be because of some (temporary) problem with the app, it could be Claro figuring out how to block it. People who had their own (usually pay) VPN apps were able to get around the block, so it’s not impossible. If Hola doesn’t work again Friday, there are other apps in the Chrome (and other browser) app store, one of them might work. I’m not going to be offering tech support on Friday – I’m not even sure I’m going to try recording this show – but there’s always a way to make it work if you want it to work enough.
  • AAA will begin airing Heroes Inmortales this week. If you paid $19, you paid it to see about 8 days before AAA puts half it on YouTube for free. It’s a strange thing to do when you’re trying to rebuild the value of your PPV, but I’m sure their not thinking about it.
  • CMLL on 52MX continues to be pre-empted at various times. They do update the guide, but it’s all very random. I wonder what they think about Puebla being on the internet for free two weeks before it airs on their network.
  • LATV aired a repeat last week. I’ve got it down as if they’ll just skip that week. We don’t have any recording of the 09/20 show, so this would be new to the internet if it actually aired.

New Hotness: not airing your main event.

== AAA ==

AAA-Televisa: Preview’s not officially up, but it’s already been revealed on Twitter that the first five matches from Minatitlán will air, which means possibly very good Pentagon/Suicide and Daga/Pain vs Angelico/Jack. That leaves out the main event – Bengala’s debut. Ricky Marvin will never make AAA TV?!?

I had that show penned down as a two week taping. It’s only a one week one after all, so everything else airs a week sooner. The Tapachula taping will tape on 05/17 and looks to air on 05/24 barring any other change. AAA would get Sin Cara & Averno on TV for two weeks before Verano de Escandalo. That makes it a little bit easier to promote them as being on that show.

== CMLL ==

FOX: Expecting the main event to be kept off TV here, so the Atlantis feud, the Princesa breakup and the Rey Cometa trios should all make air. There’s going to be some creative editing on the mid-show introduction (or maybe it’ll just be dropped.)

52MX: first week of it being all Guadalajara, and I have no real idea of what that means. This network seems to have decent strength in Guadalajara itself and they’ve gone out of their way to include matches with locals under the previous format. I’d expect that to continue, even if that means some of the midcard gets skipped. The real bonus here is the Valiente/Mephisto title match may make air, which it definitely would not have under the old format.

ClaroSports: top 3 from last Sunday. Not sure how much I’m going to do previews when I’m never going to be able to see this show (the LATV problem.)

C3: Atlantida vs Guerreros, almost. Undercard matches in full moving video!

TVC Deportes (Puebla): start of the Ripper/Azul feud, Mascara/Escorpion in a lightning match. Listed as airing at 5pm and 11pm on Sundays right now. Maybe one of those is right.

Lucha Azteca: Odiosos vs Niebla/Shocker/Casas

Terra Friday: Cachorro vs Hechicero ad Star Jr. vs Soberano, both which could be a lot of fun. Sugheit makes her debut as a tecnico. Maybe don’t worry about the first couple matches unless you want to see Rebelde and Bengala.

Terra Sunday: La Sombra vs Rey Escorpion, which should be interesting even in medio format. This is another one where you may be able to get away with missing the first couple of matches, but the top four matches all have a chance.

Terra Tuesday: Metalico and Oro Jr. continue not get along. Zeuxis probably destroys Skadi again. Cavernario/Guerrero Negro and Dragon Lee/Super Halcon Jr. to wrap week 6.

== Other ==

Noches de Coliseo: SIN CARA’S TV REDEBUT. You knew it would happen in Monterrey.

IWRG-AYM Sports: Hoping Rey del Ring, probably getting let down.

== AAA ==

AAA-Televisa: what’s left from Naucalpan – minis, Rockers vs Oficials, and Chessman/Texano vs Mesias/Vampiro

AAA-Fusion: more from the Garza show. There hasn’t been a next one announced as of yet, which means this could be planned for three weeks. Right now, I’m guessing DTU’s three tag match and Consejo vs Perros

== CMLL ==

Galavision/Televisa: The Friday night shows are rough to predict this week, but easier for the next couple weeks. I’m going to guess Copa Junior airs here + the short segunda to fill out the time. Update: the early evening repeat is pre-empted for no particular reason, but the late night show is still listed

FOX: would be left with the Puma/Cometa trios (is Puma/Cometa feud of the year?) and random midcard Averno/Rojo/Escorpion vs Atlantis/Shocker/Titan

52MX: Sombra vs Terrible!

C3: Guerreros vs Revolucionarios, Valiente gets himself a feud, and maybe a segunda feud.

GDL: build to Angel de Oro vs Negro Casas + more Cometa vs Puma and Tuareg vs Cancerberos

EstrellaTV (Puebla): Sombra vs Terrible!

El Luchador: “The luchadors will have to do their best in their last mission under the watchful gaze of el Consejo. Shocker receives a surprise visit and reflects on his life amid fears he has for his next meeting with Mr. Niebla. The stars turn in favor of Dragon Lee, but pride stands in the way of his success. Princesa Blanca’s absence affects Felino’s health and he considers retirement.”

En Busca de un Idolo: Euforia vs Triton & Dragon Lee vs Niebla Roja in what should be the final opening round matches.

I haven’t talked enough about this show, but the one thing really stands out to me is something never shown – there’s no on screen mentions of standings or how everyone is doing in the overall competition, just the judges scores shown and the one flash of the score total in the post-match debriefing. There’s no sense of anything but the result of the previous match. It really stuck out to me after Titan’s loss last week; we knew he was probably getting thru because of the voting points, but Atlantis was reacting like it ws a crushing loss. There still is time for Polvora confronting Tirantes on the toliet. It’s not the biggest problem – the biggest problem are the people being spotlighted are being spotlighted for being failures (Polvora & Puma) and Tirantes claiming no one looks shouldn’t come off as accurate – but if the concept of the show is a competition some wins, shouldn’t we know who’s ahead? (No one’s watching this show, it scarcely matters, but it does speak to a systematic problem with CMLL – who’s winning?)

Neither of the reality shows are doing much for making stars out of the key participants. Even the Blanca/Estrellita feud has been way played down outside of the one early episode – they made a point of saying Blanca hated all the tecnicas and not just any one in particular in the lead up to the cage match. (That bit with Blanca & Tiffany being evil women to the tecnicas was great though.) Bucanero’s arc ending and being written out of the show completely with 3 episodes left was peculiar, but the whole way it’s gone has not been so positive. The one feud that’s being pushed strongly is Mr. Niebla vs Shocker, and CMLL doesn’t seem to want to do that in any fashion.

Terra: a really strong show; Marcela vs Amapola, Invasors vs Atlatnida being highlights but other matches not being too bad either.

== Other ==

IWRG-TVC Deportes: Angel vs Eterno, the Terry/Navarro/Pirata vs Solar/Astro/Ultraman rematch

IWRG-AYM Sports: AFAIK, the final AYM show that’ll air in the US – it’s going away Wednesday. (I feel like I’ve mentioned this often but still will get asked about it for the next month.) Another Oficials vs Comando match, another Angel & Trauma II team up and Piratas/Trauma I vs Junior Dinamitas/Wagner

ACM: this show has gone random, no point in guessing.

== AAA ==

AAA-Televisa: The first part of the Naucalpan taping. Maybe Oficials/Clowns?

AAA-Fusion: First part of the Perros del Mal Hector Garza tribute, which should help explain if it’s two parts.

== CMLL ==

Galavision/Televisa: more Tuareg/Cancebero problems? Marco, Maximo, Porky vs Avernos also likely.

FOX: Oro, Fantasma, Cometa vs Misterioso, Namajague, Okumura and Atlantis, Sombra, Shocker vs Tama Tonga, Terrible, Tiger. Maybe.

52MX: build to Sombra vs Terrible

C3: Terrible, Tama Tonga, Ultimo Guerrero vs Marco, Shocker, Maximo. Maybe the lightning match airs because it’s part of an ongoing story.

GDL: Estrellita vs Princesa Blanca, plus the build to a mystery match.

EstrellaTV (Puebla): build to Sombra vs Terrible, also.

El Luchador: “An anti-violence message could unite the luchadors on one last machine, while Dragon Lee’s pride puts him in danger of losing his coaching before facing Puma King in En Busca de un Idolo. Shocker and Mr. Niebla revive their rivalary and Felino has to make a decision to deal with his seperation from Princesa Blanca.”

En Busca de un Idolo: Puma King vs Titan, Diamante vs Polvora.

Terra: Terrible vs Sombra for the CMLL Heavyweight Championship of the World!

== Other ==

IWRG-TVC Deportes: Angel vs Eterno, Solar/Astro/Ultraman vs Terry/Navarro/Pirata

IWRG-AYM Sports: PRISON FATAL

ACM: probably reruns

Update on the AYM situation: replacement channel Latin American Sports airs Sobre el Ring. Not IWRG, at least not back in October. The Javier Llanes show no one downloads will never die.

== AAA ==

AAA-Televisa: No idea! I’ll guess Rockers vs Secta and Perro & Texano vs Cibernetico & Mesias.

AAA-TVC: Probably the women’s match and Ciber/Wagner/Vampiro vs Chessman/Perro/Park from this weekend’s taping.

== CMLL ==

Galavision/Televisa: Terrible/UG/Volador vs Marco/Maximo/Rush for sure, then pick your undercard match.

FOX: Build for Averno vs Titan in a a trios. Guessing the minis match ends up air.

52MX: the two big singles matches from last week.

C3: Tama Tonga & Terribel vs Atlatnis & Azul

GDL: Mascara, Shocker, Porky vs Dragon, Mephisto, Volador to set up another Mascara/Volador match

EstrellaTV (Puebla): build for Mephisto/Mistico, Canceberos vs Tuareg.

El Luchador: “The demands grow for the four luchadors. Dragon Lee asks Shocker to be his new coach. While Shocker tests the limits of the handsome aeiralst, the 1000% Guapo and Leslie finally find out the sex of thier baby. Princes Blanca must decide whether to reconcile with Felino or prove she’s national champion by risking her hair. Bucanero, in his new life, doubts returns to theraph while risking his title to be proven as the best rudo in history.”

En Busca de un Idolo: should be on to Niebla Roja/Triton & Dragon Lee/Euforia. And hopefully more Ultimo Guerrero and less Goyo (that scene went forever!)

Terra: Azul/Shocker/Sombra vs Rojo/Tonga/Volador. Fuego vs Namajague looks fun.

== Other ==

IWRG-TVC Deportes: the show from last Thursday, with Angel, Electroshock, Trauma I vs Cien Caras Jr., Hijo de Mascara Ano 2000, Mascara Ano 2000 Jr.

IWRG-AYM Sports: Angel vs Oficial 911, and another tournament. I’ve figured out they’re running tournaments to maximize the amount of matches I get to see before AYM goes away. Or it’s a coincidence. This looks to be another great show; both trios look potentially awesome, and I have lot of interest in Angel & Oficial 911. Another week where I wish this was still live OR I could get away from the internet to watch it unspoiled.

ACM: not sure if they’ll finish up the taping from last week or start with this past week (which was said to be taped by whoever’s promoting now.) Everything is possible.

== AAA ==

AAA-Televisa: The cage match, for sure The Psychos vs Chessman, Daga, Silver trios match and Elegido & Fabi vs Masetro de Maestros & Sexi remain from the last taping.

AAA-TVC: Title tournament match is an easy pick, and probably the Lider & Mesias vs Chessman & Daga.

== CMLL ==

Galavision/Televisa: back on regular time? Hasn’t changed yet! Ultimo Guerrero vs Rey Escorpion headlines.

FOX: Guessing Women and Tonga/Terrible/Tiger vs Atlantis/Sombra/Rush

52MX: Azul/Sombra/Shocker vs Rojo/Tonga/Volador to set up Azul vs Tonga next week.

C3: Mephisto/Tonga/Terrible vs Atlantis/Panther/Azul

GDL: Minis cage match! And maybe some other stuff.

EstrellaTV (Puebla): Atlantis, La Mascara, Mistico vs Averno, Felino, Mephisto main event.

El Luchador: “The mission will take the luchadors into a maximum security prision – except Shocker, who will have to rush Leslie to the emergency room. Meanwhile, the growing fame of Dragon Lee provokes jealousy from his partner, Bucanero tries to start a new life, and Felino will have the chance to fight along side his children for the first time.”

En Busca de un Idolo: No idea where we are, or if it’s still airing, but it’s listed as on Friday and Saturday nights.

Terra: Dorada vs Polvora! Tonga vs Azul! Me watching a Bears game (or more likely driving to a Bears game for most of this), you telling how great it’s going to look next week.

== Other ==

IWRG-TVC Deportes: Castle of Terror, maybe? Not actually on the schedule (and you can find the show on YouTube already.)

IWRG-AYM Sports: TITLE TOURNAMNET. I don’t think I can do this, and I think I’d be failing you, the 12 people reading this website, but I’d avoid spoilers for this show and find out the results on Monday night if I could.

ACM: Maybe the AAA vs locals match?
