Caristico returns to CMLL Friday nights, Casas/Parka & Kamaitachi/Maximo, Dorada actually gets a match

tonight’s card

Tonight’s is the first time the original Mistico will wrestle on a Friday night show since January 14, 2011. The main event that night was Mistico, Maximo, Super Porky versus Felino, Negro Casas and Rey Bucanero. CMLL could run the same exact match nearly five years later, but instead Mistico will team with Volador and Super Parka versus Mephisto, Ephesto and the same Negro Casas. The prodigal son returning is tonight’s draw, but the emphasis going forward appears to be on the Negro Casas/Super Parka feud. It’s possible those two may drafted to replace the missing Thunder/Ultimo Guerrero match in a couple Fridays.

The other possible replacement match is in the semimain, as Maximo teams with Atlantis and Marco Corleone versus Shocker, Ultimo Guerrero and Kamaitachi to continue the Maximo/Kamaitachi feud. Kamaitachi losing his hair fits the pattern of the NJPW trainee getting shaved bald before returning to Japan, but he’s also sticking around deeper into December than usual. Namajague’s last match was on December 8th, Yoshi-Hashi was done on the 6th, and Naito & Yujiro finished up on the 4th. Perhaps Thunder’s disappears the timing of his hair match, but they started setting up the Maximo/Namajague match while Thunder was still around.

Whatever the plan is for 01/01 – Maximo/Kamaitachi, Parka/Casas, both, neither, even back to Thunder/UG – CMLL will probably want to make clear tonight. It’s going to be tougher to build it up next week when the stream is an iPPV, and it’s probably needs a couple weeks of notice. The problem is both feuds already said the matches were happening and then they just didn’t, so they might need to do something more serious to convince people it’s really happening this time. Maybe a in-ring contract signing?

The one match we know is happening in the next couple weeks is the cage match next week. The 12 luchadors in that match will all be in a cibernetico tonight, which figures to be a pretty good match. CMLL’s run this pre-cage ciberneticos with the minis division, and often had the finish of the cibernetico set up the result next week in a cage the next week. Tonight’s outcome could be telling.

Tonight’s show has two more matches which look like they should at least be OK. It ought to be a better show than the last couple of weeks. It’ll start at 8:30pm Central Time, and it’ll stream on ClaroSports. The link is usually http://www.clarosports.com/en-vivo02/, though it doens’t appear to be up yet.

CMLL says Pete Best, who was the drummer for the Beatles before Ringo Starr, will be at the show. He’s in Mexico touring with his band.

There’s another big CMLL match which isn’t in Arena Mexico. Mascara Dorada will defend the CMLL World Welterweight Championship against BUSHI on NJPW’s show in Korakuen Hall. It’s Dorada’s first defense in NJPW, first defense anywhere since winning it over Negro Casas in a quick tournament, and first defense in 351 days. It’s still only the fourth longest known break between defenses (Mephisto went 508 days between them once.) Bushi/Dorada should be a good match and one where the outcome is in doubt; NJPW hasn’t quite done a lot with Dorada and this is Bushi’s first big match after going rudo. I’m hoping Dorada wins and challenges the winner of the Omega/Kushida title match at FantasticaMania, but it’s nearly as likely Dorada loses thru some interference and gets a title rematch at FantasticaMania. Either way, we’ll probably get the first indication of what to expect for that January tour.

The show will air live on NJPWWorld.com (subscription required) at 3:30 AM Central Time. (This site will convert it to your timezone.) It’s the fifth match on the show. I stupidly plan on watching it live, so expect notes on Twitter or here.

Alfredo at LuchaWorld and KrisZ have detailed obituaries for Lizmark. Furia de Titanes talked to Canek, Fantasma and Hijo del Lizmark at the wake. Hijo del Lizmark said his father was in good health and everyone was surprised by his passing.

On an interview with Spain’s PlanetaDeporte, Angelico said he and Jack Evans were approached by WWE about joining, and mutually decided they’d rather stick with Lucha Underground as long as the series lasts. (The discussion is about 56:20 into the video and Brazil’s WrestliNation had this quote first.) Angelico said they were actually approached a year prior to meeting WWE officials again at PWG more recently, where the WWE again inquired and wanted to know about their contract status. Angelico mentioned he was really happy with the atmosphere of Lucha Underground, where about everyone is the same age and everyone hangs out together. Saying that you’ll stay some place forever is the smart thing to say when you’re already there, but Angelico seemed genuine about his desire to want to stick with Lucha Underground. The full interview runs about an hour and includes Angelico talking about other topics. When asked about Rey Misterio and Myzteziz, Angelico was very down on Myzteziz, saying their trios match in Cancun wasn’t any good due to Myzteziz changing everything and rejecting everything. You don’t hear many good stories about Myzteziz’s time in AAA, which probably explains a lot about why AAA reacted harhser to Myzteziz walking out than Angelico – it was an accumulation of things.

DTU and WXW announced the winner of the four way between Black Fire, Draztick Boy, Lokillo and Jinzo on Saturday’s DTU anniversary show will not only go to WXW, but also challenge for the DTU Alto Impacto championship still held by Kim Rey. In that interview above, Angelico also said he was heading to WXW in early March.

LuchaWorld has a recap of CMLL Informa.

Segunda Caida reviews Felino, Místico, Negro Casas vs La Máscara, La Sombra, Volador Jr.

Lineups

CMLL (TUE) 12/22/2015 Arena México
1) Astral, Shockercito, Último Dragoncito vs Demus 3:16, Mercurio, Pierrothito
2) Magnus, Metatrón, Soberano Jr. vs Disturbio, Okumura, Virus
3) Fuego, Guerrero Maya Jr., The Panther vs Ephesto, Luciferno, Mephisto
4) Dragón Rojo Jr. © vs Titán [CMLL MIDDLE]
13th defense
5) La Máscara, Super Porky, Valiente vs Felino, Rey Bucanero, Vangellys

Dragon Rojo reached four years with that championship last month. Might this be it for him? Titan is going to Japan and Dragon Rojo is not. Should be a pretty good match either way.

Maya & Panther are paired up a few days after their own title challenge. Second match is sneaky good, would be better if anyone replaced Metatron. Maybe he and Shockercito can switch places.

CMLL (TUE) 12/22/2015 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Capitan Cobra, Magia Blanca, Robin vs Cholo, Mercenario, Mr. Apolo
2) Estrellita, Lluvia, Silueta vs Dalys, Reyna Isis, Zeuxis
3) Delta, Esfinge, Rey Cometa vs Boby Z, Kamaitachi, Skándalo
4) Atlantis, Blue Panther, Volador Jr. vs Gran Guerrero, Kráneo, Ripper
5) Marco Corleone vs Último Guerrero

We haven’t seen results from this past Tuesday in Guadalajara but Ultimo Guerrero fouled Marco the week prior to that. A little strange a hobbled Ultimo Guerrero would’ve been booked in a singles match ten days before a bigger/tougher one with Thunder, but perhaps the idea when this was booked was to give Ultimo Guerrero a chance to see where he’s at health wise in a full singles match.

Magia Blanca starts makes his way to Guadalajara for the first time in the opener.

CMLL SANCHEZ (FRI) 12/25/2015 Arena Neza
1) Hijo De La Parkita & Mini Oriental vs Babra Negra & Pequeno Star
2) Bugambilia, Huracan Ramirez Jr., Rey Neza vs Fresero Jr., Maldito Jr., Motocross
3) Argos, Dinamic Black, Neza Kid vs Canis Lupus, Dr. Karonte Jr., Punker Bizarro
4) Mr. Niebla & Zumbido vs Gran Guerrero & Último Guerrero
5) Carístico & La Máscara vs Cibernético & Sharlie Rockstar

One more to the Christmas Day shows, though this one starts at 6:30 (late enough for people to work Arena Mexico before hand if desired.)

lucha TV preview for weekend of December 18th

20151217lt

ClaroSports should be interesting and maybe good; that cibernetico alone will be one more good match than took place last week.

The Kamaitachi/Dragon Lee feud should start airing on Azteca this week.

AAA‘s end of show promo this past week confirmed they’ll go into Best of 2015 material starting this weekend. That’s usually three weeks, which means nothing new on that show until 01/09. IWRG also might be off for a week or so, since they’re definitely not airing the Lucha Memes show and IWRG usually takes a week off at the end of the year.

LATV hasn’t been airing new episodes much, but did air a new one last week. It may not be all LATV’s fault – they’re getting the episodes from the ClaroSports/Titanes del Ring show, and that’s also drifting behind and showing repeats.  It’s very unusual for the Claro/52MX shows to drift behind, so something’s going on.

Proesa says their random Efekto show will air Tiger Mask matches this weekend, surely straight off YouTube.

Lizmark passes away, other notes from the day

Lizmark/luchawiki

Lizmark passed away Wednesday from a heart attack. He was 66 and passed away in Mexico City. Lizmark’s real name is Juan Baños, which wasn’t revealed until his death as he never lost his mask. Lizmark had previous heart issues, retiring for a time in 1999 due to them before coming back, and was largely done with in-ring competition by 2009. (Lizmark’s name has popped up since then, but it’s almost always just confusion with his son.)

Lizmark was born in Oaxaca, but is most associated with Acapulco and it’s said he’ll be buried in the state of Guerrero. The story of the Lizmark name came from the port in that town: a ship was name “Bismark”, and the first letter was changed (either by confusion or by concern of it already being used, depending on the telling) to Lizmark.  Lizmark was billed as one of the cliff divers of Acapulco, who take dangerous jumps into the ocean below. Lizmark started in the local arenas there before coming to Mexico City in the early 80s as a revolutionary high flyer for the time, introducing rope tricks with el Matematico with a graceful style. Lizmark was a multitime world champion when their were many times fewer world championships in Mexico, winning all three NWA championships including the Light Heavyweight championship four times between 1988 and 1992. That domination might have only ended because Lizmark’s stint with CMLL was as well; he joined AAA shortly after, and his national light heavyweight title match with La Parka was one of the bigger matches on the first TripleMania. Lizmark returned to CMLL in 1995, where he was a regular for most of his career (outside of a unmemorable return to AAA for a few months.) Lizmark’s family includes Hijo de Lizmark, who wrestled in CMLL and WCW and is occasionally seen on indie shows. There was also a separate Lizmark Jr. who appeared for a very brief time, and it’s unclear if he was actually related to Lizmark (as it came off as a name rights buying circumstance.)

Dr. Karonte told Furia de Titanes today the cliff diving was always just a story; Karonte claims he (when both were still children) helped out a skinny teenage Lizmark when he got in a fight, then later introduced him Arena Coliseo Acapulco trainer Abundio Radilla, who took him on. Many years later, they met by chance again in Arena Coliseo and Dr. Karonte had no idea his old friend was now top star Lizmark until he unmasked backstage.

CMLL and AAA mentioned his passing, which came out late Wednesday’s night. LuchaWorld has a brief look at his career, SuperLuchas has a longer one and the bio over on LuchaWiki is worth a look if you haven’t read it. El Hijo del Santo mentioned Lizmark was one of his idols when he was getting into wrestling. Furia de Titanes has other wrestlers remembrances.

CMLL interviews Lizmark back in September as part of their series of interviewing former wrestlers. Lizmark was at a retired luchador party this past September. He talked to +LuchaTV earlier this year, saying he was satisfied with his career.

There was a myth that he had died or otherwise stopped wrestling after taking a Styles Clash wrong from Terrible, but he continued on with CMLL for a while after that injury. He left CMLL in early 2007 and spent a couple years doing legends shows before just quietly stopping wrestling. There was no retirement show or grand farewell. There definitely was an impression that Lizmark was staying in wrestling the last few years primarily in hope of getting paid to lose his mask. At one point (2006), there was a plan for something like that – Averno & Mephisto taking Lizmark & Hijo del Lizmark’s masks as a big match – but it never came to pass.

Lizmark started just a few years too early for the first run of matches to be taped. There’s some scattered early ones on YouTube, including this one from 1983. His last CMLL TV match was in 2007 teaming with Mictlan and Satanico against Okumura, Emilio Charles Jr., and Pierroth, but he also appeared a couple years later at a special Luchas 2000 show in the Arena Coliseo.

Lizmark happened to pass away on the same day as Blue Demon did 15 years earlier.

1) Alas de Acero & Aramis b Ángel De La Muerte I & Ángel De La Muerte II
2) Dr. Karonte, Hip Hop Man, Imposible b Kaling Black, Látigo, Rocket Rojo
Dr. Karonte looks like the Mini Karonte from the last Elite show, who may have switched to a non-mini name. Kaling’s first appearance here in over a year.
3) Apolo Estrada Jr. & Eterno b Diablo Jr. I & El Hijo del Diablo
4) Emperador Azteca, Hijo de Mascara Sagrada, Hijo del Alebrije DQ Canis Lupus, Halloween Jr., Tony Rivera
Halloween Jr. fouled Hijo de Mascaa Sagrada. Referee Reyes Rosas was back in this match (on this show), after being off for six weeks after the ending of Castle of Terror. Rudos ended up taking the tecnico’s masks in the post match.
5) Damián 666, Halloween, X-Fly b Argos, Crazy Boy, Danny Casas
Titan & Triton were advertised but didn’t appear (CMLL veto?); IWRG announced Crazy Boy (as an indie) ahead of time and Danny Casas was also added. Damian snuck in a foul on Argos for a win, and lucha extreme challenges followed of course. Money thrown in.

CMLL guys getting pulled hours before the show seems like normal CMLL. Mini Karonte/the current Dr. Karonte/Karonte Jr. is the ex-Mini Murder Clown – the Dr. Karonte article above mentions his four wrestling sons and has Karonte Jr. in the place Mini Murder Clown should be.

Charly Manson credits lucha libre for his early release from prison. Manson said there are two paths you can take in prison: learn from others how to better commit crimes or apply yourself to become a better person. He focused on the latter, eventually starting a sort of wrestling school after being asked for advice from other inmates, and he believes that helped grant him early release for good behavior. Manson said he met many people who were jailed despite being innocent, and he feels his case was not fully investigated as well. Manson says hearing about the death of Perro Aguayo Jr. was the saddest day of his life. Manson’s son was also born around the same time, so he says he had the happiest and saddest days around the same time.

There’s some Lucha Underground news which is really hard to talk about without spoiling things. I’m going to do my best. If you read the results of Sunday’s taping elsewhere, the final match on the final show of the taping ended prematurely due to an apparent leg injury to one of the luchadors. A injury is bad news on it’s own, but that particular wrestler being out of action would’ve required a complete rewrite to the rest of the season. The Wrestling Observer said it’s not as severe as feared, a strain instead of a ligament tear, and the wrestler will be able to return in short order. Lucha Underground tapes in front of a live crowd next on January 9th, which will give the luchador a three weeks to recover.

Everything seems to point to the January 31st taping as Ultima Lucha 2. Lucha Underground puts all their tickets on “sale” at the same time and have done so about two weeks before the first show (the Monday of that previous week.) That would mean the January ticket window opens on December 28th. That’s right dead in the middle of the holidays, so it could change; I’d keep my eye opens this upcoming Monday too if you want to go.

The Observer says the plan is for Season 3 in March but that’s not really new news; every since coming back, they’ve said they want to tape Season 3 after the production crew gets done with taping the Apprentice for NBC and they’re hoping to be done with that in the spring. If they do get season 3, then they’ll be taping months ahead and they’ll probably end up doing more episodes for the Season 2 + Season 3 than they did with Season 1 alone.

There’s still not much new info on the makeup show for Guerra de Titanes (which, again, needs to have a different name for this time only evoking a new beginning.) AAA probably would’ve made an announcement yesterday if there was some news coming on this week’s AAA show. There doesn’t appear to be a MLW Radio show this week as Court and Konnan were likely occupied with the MMA show they did last night, but Konnan mentioned on a previous episode that there’s a show in Gimnasio Juan de la Barrera sometime next month which he couldn’t really talk about. That would make sense for Guerra de Titanes. AAA’s tended to run their TV tapings in that building on Fridays, which would be the 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, or 29th. New Year’s Day would’ve been announced by now. The 8th, 15th, and 29th are all the night before a Lucha Underground taping, which doesn’t make it impossible but does make it dates they’d prefer to avoid. January 22nd makes the most sense, but AAA would be short at least a week of TV if it happens (or be airing the show the day after it happens) – there needs to be another taping earlier.

Elite held a press conference to hype Sunday’s card. Doesn’t seem like any news. It does stick out the the future stars of Elite are a lot of the future stars of Todo x el Todo’s TV show (which is a few years ago.) Caristico also appeared on Informa, saying he was not yet a member of CMLL, only making a guest appearance on Friday, but was glad to be welcomed back and would be interested in doing more. He also thanked CMLL owner and Elite owner Ernesto Santillan for allowing him to do this. Box Y Lucha #3214 has the two Misticos on the cover.

LuchaWorld has a recap of the whole CMLL Informa show.

Super Comando says his second choice (behind the Panther) to defeat in the Christmas Day cage match is now Puma. Comando though Puma was “a nice fellow”, but Puma mocked the Panther for not being able to beat a old banged up guy and Super Comando realized Puma meant him! Super Comando is very offended.

El Bisonte lost his mask to Zokar in Cuernavaca and revealed he was Rene Beltran Jayer, son of local luchador el Judio.

RobViper has highlights of 06/16/05 CMLL.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update.

Guerrero Maya Jr. & T. Panther say they’re working hard for their tag title match on Saturday and all their other big matches coming up in the next month. This Saturday’s show is the one year anniversary of the Retro Sabados shows. Guerrero Maya’s new look wasn’t a return to the facepaint, but a whole new design. It looks very sharp.

Pentagon Jr. will be honored on Friday.

Rafael el Maya complains about things.

Salon Citali will have Gronda & Mr. Jack versus Canek & Fuerza Guerrera on Christmas. That’s the lucha equivalent of coal.

Ohtani’s Jacket watches a match from the 90s Juarez show.

Mr. 450 worked twice, replacing Toscano. Mascara got in a foul on Veneno.

Mr. 450 is working a lot of Mexico, but I bet two matches in one night surprised him. Apolo and Dr. Cerbero seem like a late addition to the hair feud.

CMLL (TUE) 12/15/2015 Arena México [CMLL]
1) Artillero & Cholo b Bengala & Leono
2) Flyer, Robin, Tritón b Akuma, Arkángel de la Muerte, Canelo Casas
Triton replaced Starman.
3) Puma, Skándalo, Tiger b Hombre Bala Jr., Stigma, Súper Halcón Jr.
Rudos took 2/3.
4) Blue Panther Jr. b Okumura [lightning]
Panther submitted Okumura with an armbar in 7:46.
5) Kráneo, Misterioso Jr., Pierroth b Blue Panther, Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr.
Kraneo replaced Sagrado. Boricuas took 1/3.
6) Mistico, Stuka Jr., Titán b Dragón Rojo Jr., Rey Bucanero, Vangellys
Dragon Rojo ripped off Titan’s mask for a DQ in the first fall, then Titan beat him in the second. Titan wants the title match and Dragon Rojo accepted this week.

Waiting for the lineups to come out to see if they’re actually going to do that title match next week. Dragon Rojo usually heads back home for the holidays, so it seems more likely than waiting an extra week. As with T. Panther & Guerrero Maya (back in face paint on this show), Titan’s going to Japan and that’s enough to make him a favorite in a title match.

Kraneo lost his spot on Friday, so this might be makeup date for him.

Caristico & Misticico say they’re excited to be teaming together this weekend. The psuedo-Elite card tonight in Arena Naucalpan has Argos, Titan and Triton versus X-Fly, Damian and Halloween. Argos is meant to be feuding with Titan, might remember that before the end of the match. This will be the first time Titan and Triton have wrestled in Arena Naucalpan.

The Lucha Memes/Chario II show will be put on online by +LuchaTV with a similar treatment as the previous show from Arena Naucalpan if the show sells out. Seems fair enough. In a way, this show is kind of a test to see if doing it last time really worked. It was great to see, but if it can’t get people to go to an equally interesting show than maybe it’s not a success. Anyway, I hope this show sells out so we can all see it.

AMLL, which is apparently taking over the random lucha libre spot on Efekto Sundays at noon, says a 12/18 Tinieblas & Octagon vs Pirata Morgan & Mr. Niebla show, a 12/20 CWF show headlined by Zoom Driver vs Mr. 450 and 12/27 Olimpico, Mascara Sagrada, Rey Bucanero vs Heavy Metal, Aeroboy and Violento Jack show will air. Nothing’s for sure with that slot, but it did remind me Olimpico hasn’t been around CMLL much the last few months.

Segunda Caida reviews Hijo del Santo & Octagon vs Fuerza Guerrera & Negro Casas from the Lucha Libre de Ciudad Juarez channel. If you haven’t seen that channel, it appears to be posting a show that’s airing weekly on current day Ciudad Juarez TV reairing matches from the late 80s and early 90s. (The channel is the old C3 affiliate, so this might just be a creative way to fill the CMLL time slot.) I wish those matches had dates or I had more results from that era of Juarez so I could put them in the match finder somehow.

Rey Misterio Jr. is headed to Chile on March 13th. That rules out that weekend for Rey de Reyes, though looking that far ahead seems unfair.

LA Park cutting a promo next to a Christmas tree and Pierroth. Pierroth was honored in Nuevo Laredo.

Plantilla Deportiva has a video interview with Puma and Tiger.

Lineup

IWRG (SUN) 12/20/2015 Arena Naucalpan
Arena Naucalpan 38th Anniversary
1) Leo, Mike, Rafy, Teelo vs Avisman, Diablo Jr. I, Hip Hop Man, Violencia Jr.
2) Imposible © vs Pantera I [IWRG IC Light]
11th defense
3) Danny Casas, Mr. 450, Toscano, Veneno vs Máscara Año 2000 Jr., Negro Navarro, Pirata Morgan, Trauma I
4) Hijo De Dos Caras vs Trauma I [IWRG IC HEAVY]
first defense
5) Black Terry & Dr. Cerebro vs Apolo Estrada & Eterno [hair]

Going to be a busy week for Arena Naucalpan. (There’s probably an end of year party too.) Main event is a double hair match. Guessing Apolo & Eterno are losing, but it doesn’t seem a sure thing. Not sure why Trauma I is getting a heavyweight shot and X-Fly has still not got him. Not sure if X-Fly or Zavala will get their owed title shot first. It would be weird if Imposible lost his title to Pantera I but it’s IWRG so it’s all in play. Avisman hasn’t been here since the Gringos broke up in his absence.

Atlantis earns another title match, cage match in Guadalajara?

Fuego

CMLL (SUN) 12/13/2015 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [CMLL]
1) Quca b Capitan Cobra
Quca may be spelled “Cuca” now.
2) Mercenario & Mr. Cobra b Ángel Aéreo & Rey Halcón
Mr. Cobra replaced Mr. Brisa
3) León Blanco, Metatrón, Nautilius b El Chakal, Furia Roja, Sádico
Furia Roja replaced Evola.
4) El Alteño, El Yaqui, Vaquero Jr. DQ Carlos Rogi, Exterminador, Mr. Apolo
Rudos took the first, then DQed in the second for the excessive violence. Vaquero had Exterminador in a submission at the end went Sadico & Chakal ran in, then Xavier Cruz and Nube Roja made the save. Challenges all around, cage match seems to be coming.
5) Mr. Niebla, Mr. Trueno, Negro Casas b Delta, Gallo, Stuka Jr.
Casas & Niebla beat Stuka & Delta.

Cage matches for everyone. I’m assuming Mr. Cobra and Capitan Cobra are the same person, though I guess I should do the research at some point.

CMLL (MON) 12/14/2015 Arena Puebla [CMLL, thecubsfan]

2) Disturbio & Policeman b Espíritu Maligno & Lestat LA MEJOR LUCHA LIBRE DEL MUNDO EN VIVO 14 DE DICIEMBRE DEL 2015 21:00 HRS (posted by VideosOficialesCMLL)
7:35. Disturbio & Policeman took 1/3 clean. King Jaguar walked out after the match to stare at the winners.
3) La Vaquerita, Lluvia, Princesa Sugehit b Amapola, Dalys, Reyna Isis LA MEJOR LUCHA LIBRE DEL MUNDO EN VIVO 14 DE DICIEMBRE DEL 2015 21:00 HRS (posted by VideosOficialesCMLL)
13:25. Princesa Sugehit replaced Marcela, who’s missed two straight shows. Rudas took 2/3.
4) Fuego, Rey Cometa, Stigma DQ Canelo Casas, Okumura, Skándalo LA MEJOR LUCHA LIBRE DEL MUNDO EN VIVO 14 DE DICIEMBRE DEL 2015 21:00 HRS (posted by VideosOficialesCMLL)
8:47. Tecnicos took 2/3, the last when Stigma beat Skandalo, but Skandalo came back in to attack Stigma. Rudos beat up tecnicos after this match.
5) La Máscara, Máximo Sexy, Rush b Felino, Negro Casas, Ripper LA MEJOR LUCHA LIBRE DEL MUNDO EN VIVO 14 DE DICIEMBRE DEL 2015 21:00 HRS (posted by VideosOficialesCMLL)
10:47. Ripper replaced Mr. Niebla. “Tecnicos” took 1/3. Maximo got along better with Negro Casas than his own partners, but beat Casas with the kiss for the win. Rush and Maximo made random challenges before the match.
6) Atlantis b Último Guerrero LA MEJOR LUCHA LIBRE DEL MUNDO EN VIVO 14 DE DICIEMBRE DEL 2015 21:00 HRS (posted by VideosOficialesCMLL)
7:03. Prior to the match, Atlantis noted he demanded a super libre match and a referee besides Tirantes, and neither was was happening. He tried to get Tirantes to leave, but Guerrero attacked him instead to start the match. Atlantis took 2/3, clean, then asked for a title match next week. Ultimo Guerrero accepted.

Not as bad as some of the recent shows, but another rushed show with short unmemorable matches.

Mr. Niebla missing a show is usually his fault. Might not be this time. CMLL usually balances out the bookings closely, so Niebla being a fill in on Friday might mean he got tonight off (and CMLL just didn’t feel the need to mention it.) Ripper as a fill in makes sense for the same reasons – he’s now not working this upcoming Friday.

Thunder is also not working on Friday, and the card has changed around a bit. Super Parka is now in the main event to face Negro Casas, and the Maximo/Kamaitachi feud is moved into the semifinal. (Terrible and Atlantis are shuffled around, Valiente is added, and Kraneo and Ripper are off the show.) CMLL pushing both the Casas/Parka and Maximo/Kamaitachi feuds hard on Friday seemed strange – why would they need a third and fourth apuesta match set up right now – but may make more sense if Thunder/Ultimo Guerrero is no longer happening for whatever reason. That apuesta match and the 01/01 show were not mentioned on last night’s Puebla broadcast show at all, though Thunder was shown as part of a video package of giants who had wrestled in Arena Mexico.

Today’s CMLL Arena Mexico show has Dragon Rojo, Rey Bucanero and Vangellys versus Mistico, Titan and Stuka Jr., who will also be on the TuriLuchas bus. They’re setting up a Dragon Rojo/Titan, and it’s just a question of they run it next week, or if they save it for the Christmas week. Tonight’s lightning match is Blue Panther Jr. vs Okumura. CMLL posted last week’s Bobby Zavala vs Guerrero Maya Jr. lightning match on YouTube. Guadalajara has Marco Corleone, Super Porky, Volador Jr. vs Euforia, Niebla Roja, Último Guerrero as the main event.

Cibernetico is working the Tuesday Arena Coliseo Monterrey show. That’s not a great show to be working.

Dr. Letal, Nitro, Skandalo were facing Okumura, Kamaitachi and Shiru (maybe the real one, who knows) were having a match on Sunday in Tlahuac when a dog made a run in.

Bobby Zavala won the FILL Heavyweight championship from Arkangel at some point in some location, according to CMLL’s Facebook. I can’t even find a match with them. Maybe more importantly, CMLL’s back to calling him Bobby Zavala. The FULL title is from Chile so maybe Zavala is heading there (and Arkangel was not.)

Lucha Underground announced a t-shirt deal with Pro Wrestling Tees. There’s only a few logo shirts rightnow, but the plan is supposed to be add more, including for characters on the show.

A preview of DTU’s 8th Anniversary show this Saturday.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update and this week’s Poster-Mania.

CMLL (MON) 12/21/2015 Arena Puebla
1) Astro, Meyer, Paris vs Ares, Fuerza Chicana, Guerrero Espacial
2) Asturiano, Eléctrico, Shockercito vs Demus 3:16, Mini Joker, Saurón

4) La Máscara, Marco Corleone, Máximo Sexy vs Felino, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas
5) Último Guerrero © vs Atlantis [NWA MIDDLE]
third defense for Ultimo Guerrero

Website lists the Welterweight championship, but that’s Volador’s belt. Ultimo Guerrero surely gets the win back, maybe it’ll be more of a draw this time.

Cibernetico combines to two strange midcard feuds, with Lestat being the odd man out. Maybe literally everyone is getting a cage match? I don’t know. Semimain seems to continue that weird story too. First two matches could be OK.

new video releases for weekend of December 12-13th

No new IWRG. The feed I use to record AAA didn’t work. The back up feed cut away from the show before the main event. I don’t understand why, it was just an old movie. If AAA didn’t post the show, it may not have surfaced otherwise.
