CMLL CAN52 GdR - 03/29/08 (#121)
Recapped: 03/29/08

Welcome to the Show: Dr. Wagner Jr.

Open: In between zooming in and out crazily, there's promos from UG and Volador.

Outside the Ring: Que Monito

Match 1: Satánico, Shigeo Okumura, Virus (c) vs Fabián el Gitano, Felino (c), Mictlán
Arena Coliseo, 03/23/08

  1. rudos
  2. tecnicos
  3. rudos

Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 9:20
Approx Rating: Okay.
Other Match Notes: Entrances. Group tecnico promo, while Satanico handles his team's promo all by himself.

1: Normal tecnico controlled warm up fall. Fabian gets in the Asai Moonsault on Okumura, but the maestro rake care of things in the ring for the fall.

2: Beatdown. Everyone takes turns yanking Mictlan's right arm around. Felino almost turns around with chops on his own, then cuts off a Virus charge with a dropkick to the knee. Fabian gets Okumura with a top rope plancha, and Mictlan dropkick Satanico. Virus is handed from a Fabian backbreaker into a Mictlan 'rana for three, and that's the fall.

El Arte de Catch

3: Felino and Satanico start the fall (as far as we see), and Felino getting Satanico with a over the back armdrags and a backbreaker before Satanico rolls out. Mictlan vs Virus is next. Mictlan somehow wins the chop fest. Headscissors, armdrags, backbreaker, and Virus it out of there. Okumura and Fabian, though not until Fabian gets his chance to dance. Chop battle again, Okumura tries a backbreaker, Fabian pulls him down by his hair. Fabian pulls Okumura, Okumura eye rakes him, whip, reversed, drop toe hold, casita one two NO. No one made an effort to break that up. Fabian argues the count and gets booted, but Fabian misses the corner charge and gets pulled in an abdominal stretch. Virus tries to break it up and gets cut off by a plancha from Mictlan. Virus does manage to duck a Felino clothesline and break it up anyway. Okumura and Fabian roll out while the others are left in. Rudos are whipped into each other, but tecnicos misses their next charges and are easily beat again. That's the match.

El Diseno: Angel Azteca Jr., thought they don't put his name on the screen. Gotta make room for the huge background graphic.

Match 2: Último Guerrero vs Volador Jr.
Arena Coliseo, 03/23/08

  1. Volador up and over sunset flip (3:00)
  2. UG small package (1:38)
  3. Guerrero Special  (9:06)

Winner: Ultimo Guerrero, 2-1
Match Time: 14:44
Approx Rating: better than both Volador/Perro and UG/Corelone
Other Match Notes: One more promo by both guys. Volador wants a mask match. Good luck on that. Volador tires to rush Ultimo as he's entered and ends up running right into UG's boot. That was a fair. UG kicks him back to the ring, and we break to hear UG's promo.

1: POST. UG throws Volador in so the match can actually start. Inset video shows UG ripping up Volador's mask and vice versa last week - you know, the match they didn't air on this show for whatever reason - to explain the issues here. Back in the here and now, UG kicks Volador in the corner, then pulls him around the ring a bit. Whip, back elbow. Whip, drop toe hold, elbow drop. Whip, dropkick, one of the feet seemingly catching Volador in the neck. Volador's knocked outside by the impact, and UG wastes no time following him out. Press slam, dropped head first on the apron. UG rolls Volador back in, then comes back in himself to taunt the tecnicos fans. Volador backed up to the ropes and held there for a moment. Whip, Volador flapjacked, lower than usual. Volador tries to get up, gets kicked down. Volador is looking tired. UG picks him up and walks him to the corner, before taking a moment of rest. Corner whip, Volador moves, UG hits the corner, then turns into a Volador superkick. Volador spits, then dropkicks. One more. Volador off the ropes, up and over sunset flip one two THREE. UG can't believe that was three, but Terror Chino isn't listening to any arguments about it.

2: UG talks to the commission rep about something. I guess he's still complaining about the count. Referee dutifully counts him out until he comes back in. UG off the ropes, over, and back to behead Volador with a clothesline. Chop. Whip, clothesline misses, Volador's clothesline is blocked, Volador escapes a tilt a whirl, Volador ducks a clothesline, UG rolls thru a hiptoss, Volador/UG flip reversal spot, Volador back off the ropes, and a spinning armdrags finally lands. UG slide out, but slides in when Volador slides out. Volador is annoyed, slide in, but moved to the side to avoid UG's senton. Volador starts to grab UG's legs to move him over, and UG small packages him one two three.

El Arte de Catch

3:  JIP. Both guys are tired, though Volador is in control. Corner whip, charge, UG gets the corner sunset flip one two NO. Volador rests in the corner while UG takes his time coming over. Chops, corner whip, Volador drops down and UG takes the knee bump  to the floor. Asai Moonsault is on target. In match replay of the move, because we've got some time as everyone recovers. Volador celebrates in the ring, and gets his legs chopped off by a UG dropkick to the back of the knees. Cavernaria on, so it's not officially a CMLL singles match. Volador breaks free. Whip, reversed, Volador puts his head own too soon, and UG pulls him into an inverted Gory stretch. Volador breaks free and gets a victory roll, one, UG reverses it one two NO. UG hops on Volador's shoulders for his own Victory roll (not the best that's ever looked), Volador reveres it but loses his mask on in the process. Volador covers up while covering, one two no. Volador was trying to put his mask on the same time he was making the pin. He gets it back on gets up first. Chest slap by Volador, 'rana UG blocks it with a powerbomb, feet on the ropes, one two NO. Volador argues about UG's feet being on the ropes, but Tiger Hispano does not care. Volador draws from the crowd., but turns his back on UG in the process. UG is so slow getting up, it doesn't matter. Volador tries to clothesline him, but UG won't go down. Volador tires again, but still UG is unbudged. Volador tires a third time, but UG cuts him off with a clothesline. Crowd's not very happy with that. UG 'rana, Volador reverses to a powerbomb and puts his feet on the ropes, one two NO. Volador sure can't complain about that now. Volador looks a little low on ideas. Both guys look at the crowd, and Volador forces UG in the corner. Volador very slowly backs up, charge, and lands a clothesline. UG set up on the top rope, and Volador climbs up to join him. Victory roll? No, middle rope 'rana! One two NO. UG fires up after surviving that. Corner whip, reversed, UG sits on the middle rope and dares Volador to join him. Volador takes him up on it, and UG stops him and drops him with a middle rope front suplex. One two th-NO. What's it going to take? Both men taking their time on the mat. UG slams Volador and heads up. This seems to be a bad idea. Top rope senton con giro misses, Volador scrambles on top, one two NO. Both men slowly up. Volador grabs Sangre by the head. Crowd chanting loud for  Volador. Volador slams UG and starts to head up, but UG's getting up behind him. Volador sets up for the moonsault, UG sweeps out his legs and joins him up there. Guerreros Special! That's it, it's over. One two three. UG is thrilled to still be the man - and without cheating!

Replay of the finish, and a quick interview with UG. Volador is good, UG is on another level. More replays to finish it up.
