CMLL CAN52 GdR - 01/05/08 (#111)
Recap:

Even before the open, we get Dr. Wagner Jr. ranting about being back in his house. They shoot all these bits from underneath bleachers or something.

Open: Dr. Wagner, talking about the match this time.  Also, more action figure fun, this time with Ultimo Guerrero. UG fears no action figure.

Match 1: Fire, Pequeño Damian 666 (c), Pequeño Halloween vs Bam Bam, Pequeño Olímpico, Último Dragoncito (c)
Arena Mexico, 12/30/07

  1. tecnicos
  2. rudos
  3. tecnicos

Winner: tecnicos
Match Time: 8:18
Approx Rating: Really good match, better than the ones from the previous weeks. Minis division is DEEP.
Other Match Notes: Mini Damian has his belt and spikey hair. No entrances. Sounds like we get something cut at the start of the match.

1: Match is joined in progress, Damian throwing Ultimo around with hip tossed and arm wringers. Damian's all fired up, so Halloween comes in to help him celebrate. And then leaves. All he wanted to do was party. Dragon back up, Damian gives him a waistlock takedown, but Ultimo sneaks in an armdrag from the mat. Lockup, test of strength, and Damian wins, but Ultimo uses leverage to flip to Damian's shoulders an armdrags him from there. Damian slides out in the process. Fire and Olimpico in, Olimpico quickly armdragging Fire. Backdrops him to the apron, but Olimpico fights back from there, with a headscissors in and a backbreaker followup. Announcers talking about the Mini Olimpico/Gitanito feud in Neza. Fire immediately recovers to dropkick Mini Olimpico out, and follows with a top rope plancha. All other four end up in the ring. Bam Bam dropkicks Damian, then leaps off his shoulders on the run into 'rana, while Dragoncito gets an awkward 'rana on Mini Halloween for the fall. BOOS? Tecnicos are as confused as I am. Everyone loves Mini GdT, I guess. Dragoncito retrieves Mini Olimpico, who's hurting even when he's brought back in the ring.

Volador wishes happy Dia de Reyes

Olimpico blah blah blah - how many weeks of this? Stop the holidays, I want to get off.

2: Looks like we've got a clip here, or Ultimo Dragoncito just decided to star the fall by holding his head while kneeling on the apron. Bam Bam misses a dropkick as Damian and Halloween move out of the way, then give a face first powerbomb/springboard faceslam combo. Fire adds the double stomp. Ultimo's turn, but he gets in nothing before his legs are kicked out of the way. Fire's hanging out on the apron while the other two work - double team double knee gutbuster. Crowd does seem to cheer Mini Damian when he poses, though Olimpico tries to put a to stop to that. Olimpico is taken apart with chops and kicks, and then stomps when he falls. Bam Bam back in, double kick is caught, so they double kick him way. Damian goes to his knees, and Halloween jumps off him into a springboard plancha on Bam Bam. Damian somehow gets knocked out of the ring, and Dragoncito quickly get sin his Asai moonsault. In the ring, Olimpico drops down on a whip and Fire double stomps him in the back, slipping off him in process. Fire grabs Olimpico, rolls to his back, and puts him in an - inverted nudo? I have no idea, but we'll go with that. Fire pulls his guys inside so the tecnicos can get counted out. Dragoncito becomes aware just a bit too late. Mixed reaction.

3: Both sides in their comers to start the third fall, though they can agree on who to start. Halloween teases wanting Bam Bam, then backs off when Bam Bam actually comes in. It'll be Dragon and Halloween. Dragon to the ropes, Halloween gets waistlock, Dragon elbows him off, bridging cover one two no. Dragon with a sunset flip, Halloween tries to block it, Bam Bam sneaks in and bodyscissors cradles him. Damian breaks that up with a dropkick, and Dragoncito's attempt at a 'rana gets blocked, Damian hanging UD upside down for Fire to dropkick. Fire covers, Damian covering him, but Olimpico bring it up with a sunset flip on Damian. Both rudos break up that pin. Bam Bam dropkicks Damian out, Fire knocks Bam Bam off, Olimpico dropkicks Fire out, Halloween clotheslines Olimpico to the ropes, Olimpico gets caught in them and Halloween rudely dropkicks him out. We're back to Dragon and Halloween, and Dragon gets Halloween with an up an over sunset flip, followed by a spinning one. Halloween stops Dragon with a kick and backdrops him to the apron. Dragoncito punches him from there, and pulled in over the middle rope for a hanging DDT. Neat. Dragon waits for Halloween to get up, ducks his clothesline and slides him out on his chest. Fire in, Fire monkey flipped. Fire waved by, and then hamstring kicked out. Bam Bam quickly in for the dive, a fast tornillo to the floor. Olimpico in and ducking Damián clothesline attempts before giving him a double spin armdrags to of the floor. Halloween cuts off the dive try with a clothesline, and chops Olimpico into the corner. Corner whip, Halloween charges, Olimpico lifts him up for a backdrop and tosses him over the rope to the floor. Olimpico off the ropes, and back for a fast tope. UD and Damian back in, Dragon with a headscissors, off the ropes, double wristlock by both guys, Dragon uses leverage to jump onto Damian's shoulders (barely landing it) and rolls forward for a headscissors cradle. Bam Bam helps hold Damian down for the three, and the win. More cheers this time, though there's some boos in later.

Match 2: Averno, Olímpico, Último Guerrero (c)  vs Dr. Wagner Jr. (c), Negro Casas, Volador Jr.
Arena Mexico, 12/30/07

  1. rudos
  2. tecnicos
  3. tecnicos

Winner: Tecnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 10:30
Approx Rating: Fun for the heat.
Other Match Notes: Dubbed entrances, which means we don't really get to hear the Dr. Wagner reaction. Volador talks about challenging for Averno's titles. Olimpico's bit is clipped, oddly.

1: Rudos entered second and jump the tecnicos at the whistle. Ultimo gets Wagner, of course, and Averno's with Volador, so that leaves Negro to take Olimpico's clotheslines and chokes. Crowd lout for Wagner, but the rudos hold him and beat him. Negro gets tripped right out of the ring. Volador gets a corner whip, a corner forearm, a corner clothesline, and a corner headstand sit. All the tecnicos get wrapped together, set up on ramp side apron, held in the ropes and by Averno, and UG boots Olimpico into a big sit on both of them.  UG brings Wagner in the ring and powerbombs him for the fall. Averno gives Volador Devil's Wings for good measure, and Olimpico hammerlocks Negro.

Q: [Wagner] ?Que Campeonatos Ha Ganado?

Sagrado

A: IWGP Junior LH, CMLL LH, CMLL Tag, CMLL Trios, IC Heavy (no promotion) and UWA Heavy.

2: Averno is hold over UG's knees for Olimpico's springboard splash. Volador gets a three man pump powerbomb and chopped out of the ring. Negro takes a double hiptoss in, and then is dropkicked out. Kinda easy. Wagner back on the apron, shaking for the crowd before coming in. Averno kicks him, Olimpico snap mares him, and they both hold Wagner down so UG can taunt him. Triple dropkick to the head? No, tecnicos get Averno and Olimpico, and UG slips out to the ramp rather then be killed. That's not far enough from Wagner - TOPE to the apron! Wagner gets UG right in the midsection, then chops him off the ramp to the floor, perfectly setting up  his tope con giro from there. The crowd is totally behind Wagner. Back in the ring, Negro sidesteps a Averno dropkick and shoulderblocks him, and gets Olimpico with the usual combo just as Volador gets Averno with the up and over sunset flip. That's the fall.

Pierroth - how many of these did they film?

3: Averno and Negro start off with a chop battle. Averno cheats first, hiptossing Negro over and getting on the crowd forgetting on him. Averno with a chop, shove, chop, shove, this time Negro thinks to duck the chop, , Negro Kick, jumping DDT. I like how Averno sells this by sitting up and crawling to his corner.  Negro immediately takes him down into a crossface, but breaks it because he sees Olimpico coming in. Olímpico off the ropes, clothesline bends Negro but does not break it. Olimpico's a bit taken back by this. Off the ropes again, Negro back bends under a dropkicks Olímpico in the knee. Olimpico claims low blow, but no one is buying it. Olimpico stalls on the outside, comes in, and is met with a leaping Volador. Volador poses for a bit. Off the ropes, flipping run, Volador under a clothesline, back with a headscissors to take out Olimpico. Averno in, and Volador escapes a fireman's carry into a spinning headscissors, and follows Averno out to get in the Asai moonsault. Captains in, and UG is not happy. One more look at the moonsault, and crowd shots of Wagner fans cheering for their man. Wagner's al fired up, but UG knocks him down with one mighty blow and mocks the Wagner fans. Wagner up and posing, so UG knocks him right back down. Wagner up to his feet one more time, urging on the crowd. UG chest slap is blocked, and Wagner kicks him down. Wagner wastes no time going for UG's mask, and unties  it from behind. Referees warn him from taking it off, and UG holds on to his mask when Wagner finally gets it free. UG breaks free, whip, reversed, Wagner drop toe hold, off the ropes, off the ropes, dropkick to the head, UG's mask almost coming off on impact. UG up and kick, but Wagner catches it and leg screws him. UG goes out for a break, Wagner goes to the apron to follow him, but Olimpico stops him with a shot to the gut. Volador takes care of Olimpico with a headscissors, Averno confronts Volador but gets a spinning headscissors two. Averno lands inside the ring, so Volador charges him, and takes a monkey flip to the floor. I think Volador might have wanted to swing around and land on the apron, but instead hit the floor kinda ugly. Averno gets up and follows with his tope con giro, while Negro gets in his silla on Olimpico. Back to captains in, and referees looking to the floor. Crowd (and Negro) are up for this match. Both guys miss clotheslines, UG tosses Wagner behind him and connects on the mule kick. UG celebrates, and grabs Wagner - who grabs UG's mask and small packages him, one two three!

Olimpico rushes to the referees to protest, not that it helps. UG gets his mask back, but can't believe that injustice. Wagner gets the microphone and gets to rant to the crowd, but it's not picked up well on TV, and the TV people sort of give up on it. It's his house and his people. They get the TV mic in there so Wagner can do a promo that can be heard on TV - kinda surprised they didn't just cut out the first promo then, since Wagner says the same stuff. Replays, with UG's face blurred out from an angle where it would've been totally visible.
