CMLL CAN52 GdR - 12/01/07 (#106)
Recapped: 12/05/07

Intro: in which you can see the end of the opener. Yay for satellite armbars. Atlantis loses his thought process in mid-promo, but they're doing these in one take so never mind. Blue Panther returns the mask challenge, wanting both Atlantis and UG's mask. Might as well aim high. A valet makes a run in with a teleton donation box. Miguel drops big money.

Outside the Ring: Damian 666, continued.

Break before the first fall HINT HINT.

Match 1: Amapola (c), Medussa, Princesa Sujei vs Dark Angel, Lady Apache (c), Marcela
Arena Mexico, 11/23/07

  1. tecnicas
  2. rudas
  3. rudas

Winner: Rudas (2-1)
Match Time: 7:44
Approx Rating: Okay.
Other Match Notes: Lady Apache's matchup graphic has her with the belt. I suppose it'll be that way forever. Intros, and JIP from there.

1: Angel and Sujei are matching kicks and chops, and we don't see exactly how Dark Angel wins due to the graphics. Medusa comes in, but takes a headscissors and a springboard dropkick. Tags to Apache and Amapola. Crowd chanting for Lady. She's off the ropes, Amapola tilt-a-whirl reversed into a plancha by Lady one two no. I don't know if that was meant that way, but it worked out. Kick to the head, knee to the head. Corner whip, reversed, Amapola mocks Lady Apache before charging, and that gives Apache enough time to slide out to the apron. Amapola hits the corner back first, but spots Apache on the apron and hiptosses her in. Apache lands on her feet, and armdrags Amapola cross ring. Apache off the ropes, bodyscissors bulldog. Up the the second rope, and a loose headscissors. Amapola off the ropes, waved by, and spun into a gutbuster. Corner whip, reversed, Amapola charges in, Apache moves, and Amapola spears the post, spinning on the way down. Apache slips out to the apron and follows with a tope con giro from there. Other four all in the ring. Sujei misses a clothesline on Marcela and runs into a Dark Angel takedown. Sarah quickly and easily gets a Texas cloverleaf while Marcela pins Medusa with a sunset flip and that's the fall.

2: the ads are back. BOOO. Sujei steals the ring card, but she still can't get the fans to cheer. Medusa and Marcela start in the ring, with Medusa downing Marcela with a kick and picking her up by her hair. Chop, but Marcela fired up with one of her own. Medusa knocks her down with a bulldog clothesline, and swats her on the back of the head. Big chest slap. Medusa bends Marcela's head around the top rope. Whip, Marcela lands a springboard elbow. That one was in rhythm, the next springboard  headscissors requires Medusa to pause for a second. Marcela gets in her own chest slaps. Corner whip, reversed, Marcela runs up to the middle rope and dropkicks Medusa as she charges. Marcela rolls right out of the ring, and so Medusa does the rolling pose. Other rudas boot her, but Lady Apache responds with a top rope double sunset flip (which is somehow possible!) Unfortunately for the tecnica, the rudas roll thru and kick Apache in the back. Beatdown time. Dark Angel gets held in a slingshot so Amapola can drop Sujei into a legdrop on her. Apache is hung on the top rope for an Amapola missile dropkick. Marcela takes a shoulder backbreaker into a faceslam from Medusa, and that's it for her. Dark Angel gets put in two holds at once for the fall.

3: I'm back to ignoring the ads. Rudas are so busy working over the tecnicas, I don't think Sujei notices the card girl. Triple dropkick to the head on Marcela. Double elbow drop for Dark Angel. Rudas are a bit lax on Lady Apache and talk way too much, so that's not good. Someone times the graphic just so we miss the beginning of Apache turning it around - I think it was to cover a clip this time. Whatever the case, she gets a double clothesline on Amapola and Medusa, and then tricks them into clotheslining the partner. Marcela and Angel enter the ring with missile dropkick for the rudas, and Apache gives Sujei a backbreaker. Dark Angel helps Marcela walk up the ropes to the top one, and she springboards off into a plancha on Marcela. Dark Angel throws herself thru the ropes for a tope on Amapola, and Amapola came centimeters are way from knocking the back of her head on a chair. Apache gets Sujei up into the Atlántida, but Sujei escapes. It looks like she's going for a bodyscissors cradle, but it doesn't come together, and Apache pushes her way. Sujei off the ropes, Apache misses a clothesline, Apache tries a tilt-a-whirl, Sujei reverses it into a fujiwara armbar! That's it! That was kinda random, though it did seem like they switched Sujei/Apache during that last fall. Rudas celebrate and we get a lot of crowd shots.

El Diseno: Atlantis - usually, we get the wrestler narrating this segment himself, but it's just another random voice.

Match 2: Atlantis (c), Ultimo Guerrero, Virus vs Blue Panther (c), Marco Corelone, Rey Bucanero
Arena Coliseo, 11/25/07

  1. tecnicos
  2. tecnicos

Winner: tecnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 10:53
Other Match Notes: UG does the interview for his side, while Rey is randomly interviewed by a valet. He's got a strange High Society t-shirt on.

1: Obviously joined in progress, with the rudos working over Corelone and the other two tecnicos outside the ring (and dead.) Atlantis and UG do a lot of holding of Corelone so Virus can do the damage, which is just great. Virus gets in a missile dropkick, and out goes Corelone. Rey in, but met with lots of knee lifts. Double drop toe and Virus dropkick to the head for him. The UG fan club is herein force. UG tosses Rey from the ring. Panther in, and pretty much covers himself. He's whipped into Atlantis' tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. Panther's tied in the ropes, Rey comes in, and Rey's tied in the ropes with Panther. Virus has a lot of people to pick up by the legs, but he does, and UG tosses Atlantis into a double big sit. That was fantastic. UG brings Corelone in, waves Atlantis over, and double suplexes him. Virus up top, giant splash, one two NO! Corelone tosses Virus off, but Virus rushes to cover him over again, one two NO tossed. Virus with a running splash one two NO. Marco's just ticked off the rudos now, and they're stomping a mudhole in him to stop him from moving any more. Trios stomping must be one of the most brutal things you can do in lucha libre, as it seems like a good 75% of DQs for excessive violence come from them, and you can see the refs warning the Guerreros here. Virus stops, but the other two don't, and the referees eventually get them far enough away to raise Corelone's arm. AWW.

Q: Contra quines y que campeonatos ha ganado Ultimo Guerrero?

AN ACTUAL AD FOR THE YEAR END SHOW - it's like they're trying to use this show to promote things or something! (Outdated main event match, but it would kind of have to be.)

2: Rudos still in control. Corelone's stretched around the ring bottom rope and hung up for an UG running stomp to the back, which can't be fun. Rudos brawl a bit, and get the best of it. Atlantis gives Rey a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker on the outside. Since he's right in front of the rudo fans, they want one more, and Atlantis gives it to them. Rudos regroup to stomp Panther. Double toe hold! Sadly, that doesn't work. Corelone back in, and rudos corner whip him - well, that's the end of this. Corelone kips up and over Ultimo, punches Virus, double leapfrog on the Guerreros, top rope plancha on everyone, and the comeback is on. Corelone kicks UG in the chest many times while the other four battle on the floor. Virus takes a monkey flip out there, while Panther has some issues with the referees about something or another. Looks like things are going to settle down to Panther and UG, but first we'll take a look at that monkey flip. Virus is in when we look back, and he gets whipped into a backbreaker. Panther puts on a cross armbreaker, but the Guerreros are into break it up immediately. 2 on 1 in the ring, corner whip, but Panther comes back with a plancha on UG. Atlantis grabs Panther, but Panther move sin time for UG to kick his partner. Nice headscissors on UG, and he's sent out too. UG goes running when Panther teases a dive. Tag to Bucanero, UG into face him. Bucanero fires up the crowd, and makes I Want The Belt motions. He has the belt! Maybe he means the tag team ones, I guess. Rey fires himself up and rips off shirt. UG off the ropes, over, and beheading Rey with a clothesline. Rey got hit so hard, he can get up. Crowd shot - they probably should avoid the rudo section if they're looking sympathy for Rey. UG whips Rey, clothesline misses, UG side slam is escaped, Rey off the ropes again, spinning headscissors sends him out. Virus in - wow, Virus looks tiny next to Bucanero, and Bucanero gives him a backbreaker into a STO. Atlantis manages to surprise Rey and knocks him down. Rey tries to draw from the crowd, but it's tough to do when you're getting stomped. Atlantis throws Rey out, but Rey pulls himself in by the bottom rope. Atlantis celebrates while facing the other way, realizes his mistake, and eats a couple backbreakers. Atlantis begs off, but Rey goes right for the mask. Atlantis manages to free himself and get away. Tags to Virus, Corelone, and Virus is getting out of there. Atlantis and Ultimo try to talk him into doing this, but Virus seems very uncertain. Virus comes in - under the middle rope - but he's still not sure about this, no matter how exciting Atlantis is. Here we go. Face to face. Face to sternum, anyway. Virus tries to get out of this again, but no go. Corelone leapfrogs Virus back and forth for fun - it's not really that much. Corelone rolls out - hip swivel for the Guerrero fans! They're not very appreciative. Okay, back in. Corelone tries to surprise UG with a punch, but he ducks down and gets in a kidney punch. Virus is able to put on headlock, off the ropes, under, under, Virus' kick is blocked, Corelone spins him, and drops him with a punch. Virus is looking for a tag out but he's not getting it. Corelone sets up Virus in the middle of the ring, off the ropes, no, the Guerreros got him with kicks. Virus rolls out as the Guerreros whip Marco. Double clothesline moves, Corelone stops short - double chokeslam! New spot! Virus is in and fired up. Corelone's drops to his knees - Virus is only a couple inches taller, but he's quicker to a dropkick whip, reversed, Corelone with a tilt-a-whirl slam. Option yelling included. Guerreros storm the ring and boot out Corelone. Atlantis sets up near the ropes, and Virus runs over to be tossed into Corelone, but Corelone makes the catch and sets him down. Left hand KO! Corelone poses one more time for the Guerrero fans, as his tecnico partners get stereo 'ranas on the rudos - one two THREE. Hey, Panther and Rey just beat the tag champs. Panther's due shots with a number of partners. Rudos storm off rather quickly while Corelone fools around with the rudos fans some more.
