CMLL CAN52 GdR - 10/20/07 (#100)
Recapped: 10/20/07

Intro: Magadan interviews a valet, re: Mistico. Black Warrior talks about Mistico in his interview. Corelone does the promo for his side, which is always great. He's got "Hola chicas" down.

Outside the ring: (literally) with Nosferatu. He gives all credit to Satanico.

Match 1: Loco Max, Ohara, Okumura (c) vs Leono, Stuka Jr. (c), Super Nova
Arena Mexico, 10/12/07

  1. tecnicos
  2. rudos
  3. tecnicos

Winner: Tecnicos
Match Time: 5:55
Approx Rating: Basic and usual
Other Match Notes: No entrances. Loco Max is Daredevil this week, I think.

1: We pick up with Loco Max working over Stuka, which is at it's best when Loco moves out of the way and lets Stuka just run into the corner. Stuka tries to see how many backflips he can do in a row, and then tries to take on all the rudos. That part goes well, as Ohara kicks his countryman in the head with a kick. Stuka dropkicks and headscissors Loco out, then leaps to the apron for a cartwheel moonsault from there. That was neat. Ohara works over Super Nova and sets him on the top rope, but Nova kicks him away and gets the seated Tornado DDT. Okumura back in, but Leono takes care of him with a flapjack. Nova kills times with stomps while Leono gets in two elbow drops to set up his springboard elbow drop. Nova adds his top rope moonsault so they can get the stereo pins, and that's fall one.

2: Rudos are in complete control as the fall starts. They might have just rushed the tecnicos right as the whistle blew, but it wasn't much clear. Nova gets a double back elbow, a double punch to the midsection, and a dropkick to the head. Leono gets beat for a while, leading to a flapjack dropping him headfirst on Ohara and Okumura's knees. Stuka tries to battle, but he's caught. Corner clothesline for him, double chop by Ohara, and Okumura gets in his reverse DDT. Everyone grabs an appendage and yanks for the fall.

El Arte de Catch: La Ringuina.

3: Ohara flirts with the ring card girl and gets a kiss on the cheek. A fine day for him. Meanwhile, Stuka is getting worked over in the ring. Super Nova is brought in and kicked in the back of the head. Rudos aren't on the same page on what to do with him, but figure it out before they going. Super nova takes corner clotheslines, falls to his knees, and and gets a dropkick to the head to finish him off. Leono gets Corner clotheslines and Okumura's missile dropkick. Stuka is stood on. He's forced in the corner for chops. Corner whip, Ohara whipped in after, Stuka moves and Ohara spears the post. Stuka grabs a red belt - must be Loco Max's - and starts hitting the other rudos with it to start the comeback. Okumura gets belted in the chest, Loco gets belted in the back. Nova comes in, Stuka boosts him to the top rope, and Nova dives off with a tope con giro to the floor. Leono gets a top rope Asai Moonsault on Loco Max. Stuka gives Okumura a fireman's carry drop, and adds a top rope splash for the pin.

El Diseno de Felino

Match 2: Averno, Black Warrior, Último Guerrero (c) vs Marco Corelone, Místico (c), Volador Jr.
Arena Coliseo, 10/14/07

  1. Rudos
  2. Tecnicos
  3. Rudos

Winner: Rudos (2-1)
Match Time: Set up next week well. Pretty shocking to see Averno get two fall victories over Mistico.
Approx Rating: 12:56
Other Match Notes: Entrances. Of note, Mistico is wearing his NWA Title Belt, while Averno has no belt. Mistico does the pre-match promo, noting he's got three rivals in this match but he really wants Averno's mask most of all. Averno challenges Mistico back in his promo.

1: Rudos jump the tecnicos to get this started. Mistico gets tossed in the aisle a great distance. UG works over Corelone while Warrior throws Volador around. Evil Monkey gets a headscissors on Volador as well. Averno brings Mistico back by the ring to drop him with a flapjack. Mistico steals a hat from the front row. Averno steals a drink and throws it in Mistico's face. Devil's Wings, one two three. Complete clean!

Q: [Marco] Cuando donde Y ante quien debuto?
A: 200, Georgia, Rey Misterio Jr. are the answers they give - I have it as December 1999 versus Disco Inferno, but that's not as good a story.

2: Rudos still firmly in control. Averno sets Mistico in the corner to rip at his mask, and does a fine job of making a hole. Warrior (accidentally) yanks Volador's mask completely off, but puts it back on before the refs catch on. It doesn't quite go on right, and Volador gets whipped around quite blind. Mistico turns it around on Averno and gets a backbreaker, but the ref shoves him down when he goes for Averno's mask and the rudos retain control. Corelone starts the comeback off a corner whip with a kip out, a punch, a leapfrog, and a springboard plancha, the usual method. Mistico sends Averno out with a headscissors and rushes him with a tope. Corelone and Volador finish up things in the ring, though Volador's 'rana looks a bit rough.

Arte de Catch: El Helicoptro  - an F5.

3: Someone must've broken the third fall card, because we get three valets to indicate the fall instead. Averno storms past them rather than face Mistico in the ring. Mistico rushes towards Averno, but stops short and grabs at his left knee, which is suddenly hurting him quite a bit. Warrior attacks him from behind, and now Averno's all ready to face Mistico. Warrior holds Mistico, Averno chops, and Warrior get it. Warrior turns and hits Averno, which allows Mistico to superkick both of them. Mistico steals Warrior's kilt away, and puts on himself to do Warrior's dance in the ring. Mistico throws it at Warrior, Warrior catches it, and Mistico superkicks him. Corelone and Averno in. Big of a height difference. Warrior finds a fan to hang out with on the outside, and we watch him stroll around instead. Averno takes out to Ultimo, who's not much taller. Head to chest. Corelone hip swivels. Leapfrog over UG for no particular reason. And again. And then a punch for Averno for no reason! I don't understand this Marco Corelone. UG runs the ropes so Marco can leapfrog more, and Corelone belts him with a left hand punch to do that again. All the rudo gang up on Corelone. Whip, double clothesline is ducked (HOW), Corelone barely makes it over on the leapfrog and punches Warrior. Warrior rolls out while the other two corner whip Corelone, who kips out of the corner, armdrags UG, and and pushes Averno into UG, who is knocked out of the ring. Averno off the ropes, spinning side slam. Evil Monkey tries a plancha, but Corelone catches him and tosses him out of the ring onto UG. Volador's turn, facing Warrior. Volador tries to get chants, but the fans aren't very organized. Warrior ducks a clothesline, Volador gets a fireman's carry escape armdrags. Warrior out, Averno in, Volador gets in his flipping run and sends Averno out with a headscissors. UG in. Stop to get people chanting again. UG gets his rudo fans to chant, and it becomes a reaction contest. Volador makes big sweep motions to get the fans to cheer, and UG works his way down to just doing a small point for the same (inverted) reaction.  UG rushes Volador, misses a clothesline, take an invisible armdrags, Volador and UG do their counter spot, and Volador sends out UG with an armdrags. Pose. Mistico in and the crowd chanting for him before he even starts with the pointing. Warrior is on the apron in front of the camera, trying to lead an Averno chant. Averno puts to the stop to Mistico cheerleading with a chop. Mistico slaps him back. Mistico off the ropes, over, waved by, backflip, springboard and headscissors gets Averno. Averno covers up, but Mistico goes for his mask anyway. Ref breaks it up again, much to the fan's annoyance. Mistico goes right back for the mask and gets yelled at this time. Mistico thinks about hitting the ref, but talks himself down. Mistico with a fireman's escape headscissors to send Averno out, teases a dive, jump to the apron, and gets an Asai Moonsault there, landing on his feet. UG and Corelone in. UG tricks Corelone in to fooling around about his height, and Warrior kicks him in the leg from behind. We take a look at a replay of Mistico's dive, and come back in time to see Corelone hit what looked like an awful double clothesline Volador boosted dropkick sends the rudos out, Volador follows with a tope con giro onto UG, and Corelone follows with an apron diving clothesline on Warrior. Corelone ends up right next to a camera, so he looks directly into it and screams. It is great. Averno and Mistico left in the ring. Mistico off the ropes, springboard for no reason, and Averno kicks him in the midsection after he lands. Whip, La Mistica, but Averno stops it, flips Averno away and kicks him low! Refs are not paying attention, so Averno celebrates, gets the attention of the one who's been on Mistico about mask pulling all match, and covers - one two three. Fans can't believe it.

Replays. Averno and Mistico lay down challenges of the mask/mask variety, though the announcers push the title feud. Averno attacks Mistico goes after his mask for a while, but Mistico turns it around with a backbreaker. Mistico goes for Averno's mask, and gets a low blow uppercut. Averno yanks off Mistico's mask and celebrates some more. He drops the mask to the mat to stomp on it for good measure. Averno rants more to Magadan. Mistico gets another mask and charges Averno, but Averno pulls that one too and rips it off. Mistico has to do his response interview with a shirt over his head.
